“False advertising”

Saw advertised price on contacts with a coupon for $15 a box. Went thru the whole process of ordering get ready to check out says total is $111 total. Then hit ship order and then that page said $247.They added on a $89 processing fee and $19 shipping. So I then wanted to find out if they charged me $89 processing because they gave me coupon discount so I made an order without using a coupon paying full price for contacts and the processing fee dropped to $14 with free shipping. So they are false advertising because if you use coupon code they get it back by charging you a high processing fee. The contacts were the same price either way. This practice should be against the law

I ordered contacts thinking they were going to be 30% off but they make the font so small i consider this deceptive marketing. Price should have been $31 and change plus tax and shipping but came out to like nearly $60. The customer service would not do anything and said sorry you did not order $99 worth of contacts to get that price.

This is my first time ordering from them, and it will certainly be the last. I was surprised by the low price compared to buying from my optometrist, but there were other websites offering similar pricing. Now it's been over 1 month, and I still haven't received my contacts. They keep saying my order will ship soon, but clearly are either lying, or just have no clue. Highly unacceptable business practice.

Purchased contacts on website was given a dollar total in the shopping cart. Went through an outside payment source to pay for my purchase, when I completed the sale the amount charged was more than cart said. Contacted customer service immediately after placing order and asked if I could cancel and they told me no. They said I had already used the discount code and they would not honor it. They told me I could return the contacts on my dime (more money). I will not order from this company again.

Their website was efficient. Except for transparency. They add on exorbitant "processing and insurance fees" and shipping fees. These are not immediately apparent at checkout. What constitutes the final price is only apparent after you have placed the order. I will look elsewhere for my next contact lens order.

On Friday I was ready to place an order after verifying they don't have the hidden "processing" fee. On Thursday it was stated on a phone call "the price you see is what you will pay."
After filling their form several times because prices and details rapidly changed completing the order form, I called. The same representative that I spoke with on the previous day answered. Things did not go well and I requested my information deleted. Now I have no intention of ever becoming a new customer. It's Sunday now and I received an automated email from them.
The per box price listed as an Online Promo is just under $23 and it stated somewhere always free shipping when it's over $99. At the price listed I was purchasing 6 boxes, more than I planned to buy. As I was about to check out this dishonest company tacked on surprise charges and the amount was just under $300! That's when I called and got a super run AVOID this company.

This Company "caught me" by advertising the cheapest contacts around. After receiving my order, I noticed a shipping charge plus a handling charge.True my contacts were $63 but after shipping of 10.95, handling of 55.93, and sales tax of 9.16! I paid 139… see picture below. Never again… Buyer beware!

They didn't inform me of an almost $$300 handling and tax charge until my credit card has already been processed. AND how convenient in my purchase email they don't show the $300 charge but instead cost my my contacts were much higher.
Please be careful when ordering from here!

I placed an order on 4/8/20 for contacts and provided my prescription the next day! After no response of shipment I emailed to confirm delivery of prescription. I was my item would be shipped 4/15/20. As of 4/21/20 their website shows that they are fully stocked but in an email received today 4/21 they are telling me it will be a few more days before shipped! Don't waste your time with this website. If something is out of stock it needs to say it on the website prior to ordering. I would have never ordered from them and I never will again.

SCAMMERS! Upon checking out of my order - I noticed a "insurance and processing fee" had been added at the very end of the transaction in the amount of $131! For 4 boxes of contact lenses. Basically, they advertised the low price for you to get onto their site, let you believe you were getting it after putting in your billing and shipping info, allowed you to see the same rate as you put in your credit card info, and finally when you were about to click on "checkout" - they added a $131 fee! I asked their customer support about this and they said it was "typical business practice for people finding their rates on google to have them adjusted later". Never again.

The contacts seemed to be drying in my eyes quickly and they made finding a resolution to the issue very difficult. They had me contact Johnson & Johnson. I am still unhappy with the contracts given the discomfort I'm experiencing. Last year I bought contacts off of lens.com, they easily let me return my boxes and they sent me new ones no questions asked. From now on I'm buying from lens.com. Customer service with this company is horrible, I would spend my money elsewhere.

Was about to put an order through thinking I was getting a great discount but lone a behold once you click "Continue to shipping" there was $280 of insurance and fees added to the order. This practice should be illegal.

I clicked on a online promo for air optix hydra Glyde. The price was 9.98 per box. Once you get to checkout it doubles the price due to a processing fee. The price should have been 79.00 for 8 boxes, but at check out it went up to 179.00. I called customer service and they said this was due to a processing fee. Scammers, and fraudulent advertising!

First time first time customer ordering from this company they messed up my prescription said Dr. did not respond now I'm stuck with $200 in useless contacts. No exchange offered and customer service rep was beyond rude! I have used lens.com but I would stay far away from this company! Service fee is a joke and they sent me an email with a discount code when I went to use it they said it did not apply to the lens price.

I don' t know why I tried to use this site again. Last time they overcharged me, didn't meet the shipping promises they quoted and failed to offer the discount promised. I was charged almost $40 more than the cart said at checkout, but didn't catch that the total had changed during checkout so I was stuck with the difference.
This time I go to order 4 boxes of contacts at their price of $24.95 per box. My cart total after the discount is $99.80. Looks great. Go to put in shipping address. The shipping for expedited is $12.99. Fine. But my total is now almost $200! Why? They charged me $79.99 in "taxes and fees," with no explanation of what those fees are for. It's not clear at all on the website. A $10 processing fee is fine. Almost $80 is not.
I will be leaving the same review on yelp with photos of the bogus charges.
I DID NOT complete the purchase because this time I noticed the change in total before finishing checkout.

They offer a very low price (about 40% off comparing to my trusted source), yet they add a very high processing fee (which it says including the processing & handling fees?) - the fee is even higher than the product's price. And they add shipping fee on top of that, while their website says it's free shipping. When you add all up, it is not much cheaper at all. I would be a first time buyer, but it did not earn my trust to do business with them.

I have used opticontacts.com for a few years now and I get what i need in the end. However, everytime i order contacts I end up frustrated. I hate hidden fees! It makes me feel tricked and ripped off. STOP doing this and be upfront or just add it to the original price! You have your items in the cart and it shows the breakdown of price, you continue shipping and then it puts an insurance and handling fee. Not happy. Second, Im computer savvy yet somehow i cant get where i need everytime i try to use this website. Simple things like trying to add contacts for multiple people. After adding one to the cart, it doesnt say continue shopping. You have to research for your contact brand. I went all over and couldnt figure out how to put in a code for a special they had.

Company boasts low prices but then adds an extremely large "Insurance and processing fee" to the order. This almost doubled the cost of my items. This is extremely misleading and I will not order from a company that uses such shady business practices. Very disappointed.

I used to order my contacts from this company but never again! They advertise cheap prices and you think you're getting a great deal but watch out for their "insurance and processing fee". I put 2 boxes of regular price contacts in my cart and both the shipping fee and the insurance and processing fee were lower than when the SAME 2 BOXES of contacts were on sale price. This company will make their money by raising their insurance and processing fees and shipping fees on "sale" contacts so you are not getting the sale price at ALL! This is completely deceiving and I will never order from them again! I have included photos of how the insurance and processing fee changed for the same contacts lens based on whether you are paying regular price or "sale price" from $8.26 to $26.38. Also shipping changed from $9.95 to $12.95 for same 2 boxes. Absolutely ridiculous!

Do not shop at OptiContacts if you have insurance that reimburses you for contacts.

At first glance their prices look to be the best, but the bait and switch happens at checkout when they tack on a $50 handling charge. The total price was still the lowest I could find (by a few dollars) so I purchased anyways, but my insurance company will not reimburse for a handling charge because it falls outside the contacts price itself.

Been a customer since 2013. I order contacts as normally and have received word they do not have my contacts in stok and on back order. Yet they are still charging me shipping to get in 3-4 days and I will be lucky if I get them in 10 days! They refuse to issue me some sort of credit. Who's $#*!ing fault is it that they do not keep proper inventory. This has happened in several times! Taking my business elsewhere!

I ordered contacts from here and when I started wearing them I could tell there was something wrong. Turns out I had not purchased the ones for Astigmatism. BUT, they are suppose to confirm with your eye doctor that the prescription is correct but if they wait 8 hours and do not hear back, they fill the order (as allowed by law.). So now I have a box of 90 contact lenses that are no good for me. There customer service told me to contact my doctor to see why they didn't respond and didn't even offer a discount on a new order with the correct prescription.

They wait until the very end of the checkout process and add a bogus "Insurance and Processing Fee" That almost completely cancels the 15% discount code they give you. In my case the fees totaled 11% of the total cost. So overall you get a measly 4% discount. It's the old bait and switch and they know that you will still order because you need to be able to see. Just be honest from the start OptiContacts

They completely lie about prices and will throw hidden fees on your order no matter what. The "insurance and processing" fees are completely made up. I had my cart total $148 with a discount. And had $20 in "fees". Found a better discount and applied it to the cart, suddenly my "fees" shot up to $90 and made the total exactly the same. That shows these fees are COMPLETELY made up and they just blatantly lie about prices until you get to the end. Make sure you look because the fees are hard to spot and they don't even tell you about them at all. Not once in the process. Almost $100 in extra "insurance and processing" fees, compared to my previous order which has the exact same contacts, yet it only had a $20 before that. Scam artists.

Watch out for the 'shipping & insurance' fee added just before you pay! On my $183.92 order total in the cart, $165.53 was added in the shipping and billing section for a new total of $349.45!

The live chat said it's a processing fee. Mailing 8 boxes of contacts requires $165.53 to process?!

I did not place the order. Reviewed a prior receipt and it was the same scam which I missed last time.

I would never order from this site. It cajoles you into thinking you're getting low prices then slaps on HIGH processing fees & shipping costs not charged by other sites. I simply backed out of my ordr & went elsewhere to a site I can trust! :)
