PCI says "Based on the photos you sent, the defects shown are a result of damage sustained in transit. Damage was not noted on the carrier's bill of lading which releases them and our production team of liability. Because of this, I [PCI] cannot provide free replacements or a refund." CAUTION #1 - If you buy their columns, DO NOT allow the freight carrier to depart until ALL cartons are opened and inspected. DO NOT allow them to leave without first documenting any damage on the Proof of Delivery (POD) and DO get the driver's signature on it and retain a copy. DO get photos BEFORE they come off the truck and photos of ANY damage to cartons and product. Our shipment weighed 560 pounds and the columns weigh in excess of 100 pounds each. Insist that the freight carrier assign two men to get the columns off the truck WITHOUT YOUR ASSISTANCE when they call to set a delivery appointment. CAUTION #2 – PCI Terms & Policies at https://www.pacificcolumns.com/terms-and-policies state "Orders Shipping Common Carrier require you to unload the items." DO read the following: "To Delivery... And Beyond!: The Boundaries of Carrier Liability for Unloading (A Clear Answer to Muddled Facts)" at https://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=03897da1-330a-48a5-8983-76b53c01caf1 D. It reads in part:: Consignee Duty and Liability: A Clear Supreme Court Holding and Its Progeny Unlike many other situations, here, there is very clear case law on this point. The United States Supreme Court has squarely held that the duty to unload goods rests upon the consignee: The general rule is that it is the responsibility of the carrier... to `deliver' the goods by placing them in such a position as to make them accessible to the consignee. Normally unloading is not a part of the delivery and is performed by the consignee. PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT - PCI may not have packaged correctly. In view of the apparent fragility of the columns, notwithstanding PCI Online claims to the contrary, the columns fractured. Regardless of how the damage was inflicted, and by whom, mere cardboard boxing of columns stacked upon one another and banded to a pallet less in length than the overhanging eight-foot columns does not afford adequate protection. Additionally, NO SPECIAL HANDLING REQUIREMENTS appear anywhere in any PCI website pages or available pdf literature. CONCLUSION: In view of the above, it is my VERY STRONG RECOMMENDATION that you DO NOT purchase products from PCI unless you can obtain a written and signed agreement from them that THEY ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGE TO THE SHIPMENT UNTIL IT IS DEPOSITED ON YOUR PROPERTY BY THEIR CARRIER and THEY obtain "CARGO GOODS IN TRANSIT INSURANCE" for the shipment AT THEIR EXPENSE.
No customer service concept. Left 4-5 messages for Ryan at ext 7154 to further discuss the quote and place the order. Till today, he or any one from the department has not called. Very disappointed
Everything arrived in good condition. Only thing that you could improve on is if top and bottoms could be improved to a composite or wood type material instead of plastic.
Thanks
My contact person was on top of things and accurate. I like that. I will be a continued customer.
Thank You, Gregg Williams GW Building Services, Phoenix
Delivery time was very delayed even with express delivery. The driver didn't call in advance of arrival and ended up just leaving crate blocking garage door.
Ordering was easy and the products arrived on sight within 6 business days in perfect condition. I will purchase items in the future from Pacific Columns. Thank You for a great experienced.
The packaging for the post column caps was not very well protected. One of our caps is broken. Perhaps a larger box with air bags or peanuts would help protect them better.
Ordered two bases, both arrived damaged because they had just been put in a box and shipped with no padding or protection. I had to keep calling to find out replacement status
Three of the four 12" X 8' columns I received had cracked or fractured ends. I called customer device but really never got a solution. We were able to repair the columns on site and use them.
The columns where fine however the trim pcs.,base capitol, mid ring so poorly fabricated, very difficult to fasten with gun nails you can not use screws its to thin junk!.
Chris Fuller was extremely helpful through out the entire process. I have one suggestion being a veteran and a senior perhaps you can offer a discount for these potential customers.
I had a great experience with Pacificcolumns.com specifically, but a terrible time with the delivery service. The delivery service scheduled 2 different days delivery and I spent over 8 1/2hrs at home waiting for delivery, only to find they didn't have a working liftgate on the truck.
Quality of the products exceeds my expectations. Customer Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend this company and their products to others.
Completely dissatisfied. Columns are NOT correct (there is a design flaw in the capitals) and your production department cannot resolve the problem. I ordered interior load-bearing columns, and did NOT receive what I specifically detailed. I want Pacific Columns to come and retrieve these useless columns, and give me a complete and total refund of my purchase price AND the extra monies I paid for expedited shipping, since the delivery commitment was NOT met (costing me MORE than that shipping charge paying my contractors to sit around waiting for that non-delivery). I expect this issue to be resolved IMMEDIATELY so that I can shop elsewhere to get my home renovation completed.
Yes, we had some weather situation, and delivery notification need a early call and delivery. Note, haven't inspect the package yet, hope all is well, will let you know. GW.
I was pleased with the product, but very disappointed with the customer service. They sent me the wrong product and told me thatI jhad to keep it. If I wanted the right product the one I ordered. I would have to buy them again, but they would givee a discount. Lucky me I get a discount for their mistake and have product that can't be used. I was very satisfied with the product itself, but didn't like the 4 week delay in my job. I have never had such poor customer service over a $200 mistake. My total order was over $3,300 and we will eat their mistake to make our customers happy.
I received my free catalog within 3 days, it has been very helpful and I have recommended to the contractors that are working through our programs where I work.
Ordering was efficient and easy
Shipping took a little longer than originally estimated
Columns arrived in good condition and packaged properly
Fed ex freight delivery driver was courteous and didn't have a problem with me checking the contents
before signing freight receipt
Relatively easy but time consuming to install
Finished product was beyond my expectations
Very satisfied with entire process and product, will recommend
The fabrication and quality of the column didn't meet my expectation based on website information. The website stated that the Enduarcraft columns were fabricated from PVC, but instead the majority of the column appears to be fiberboard. Only the cap and base trim were PVC apparently.
Wide selection & quick fulfillment. Only slight problem in that 3 of the 13 were the wrong item even though labeled like the others. They immediately sent replacements.
Have not opened or installed yet, but arrived in a timely fashion with box's in good condition. Person I worked with ordering was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks
I am very happy with the product.
The only issue I had was the autogenerated shipping email I received stated the shutters were being delivered by UPS, with a link to the UPS tracking website to facilitate tracking. However after several attempts to use the UPS site to no avail, I contacted your customer support line. I found out the shipment was actually not being shipped by UPS, but by an alternate carrier. During the conversation, I understand that my situation is not unique.
We were told we'd get the order by the 5th March, but didn't get it until the 10th March.
We emailed and called and asked for a priority shipment to no avail. When the crossheads finally showed up, the quality of one the items was very very poor. Then primer coat was sloppy, the gluing of the end pieces was very uneven and will look too cruddy to use on the window which is at eye level.
My contractor finished his work, but the crossheads were so late, I would have to re-contract the job at my additional expense. But the poor quality of one of the crosshead means I have to find a new supplier who will provide a usable quality and will respond to my email and phone for a new set.
These comments are not for posting to the general public. Photos are available if you want to see the quality.
The issue I had with my order was the time that it was delivered. It seems your company missplaced my order, causing the delivery to be late. I therefore had no one availible to help me unload the seven columns. The FedX driver was a big help unloading from his truck, but from then on it was all me!
Have not yet installed the columns but the futing on a couple of futes is not straight and will have to sand and fill those out. Also the split base and cap do not fit as well as exspected for reassemble.
Complete incompetence- produced wrong work product after multiple emails and phone calls on my part to make sure you got it right. You need to fire the sales rep Elizabeth Hatch that worked with me. I even wrote on the final drawing that I scanned and sent that the pedestal base should have 'square' rather than 'rounded' corners. You sent 'rounded' corners. Your insulting solution was to offer a $40 credit. Seriously? The columns don't match the design of my house and you won't respond or send revised material to correct - but after numerous emails you offer a $40 credit on a $700+ order? Shame on you! I'm trying to escalate via multiple channels including my credit card company, social media and the better business bureau. You guys should just close up and go home. Shame on you. Will never order from you again and I'll do all I can to see that others don't endure the pain I suffered. Any other company would step up and admit they made a mistake. You guys don't even offer to send revised work product. A $40 credit is insulting. Please respond
