PCI says "Based on the photos you sent, the defects shown are a result of damage sustained in transit. Damage was not noted on the carrier's bill of lading which releases them and our production team of liability. Because of this, I [PCI] cannot provide free replacements or a refund." CAUTION #1 - If you buy their columns, DO NOT allow the freight carrier to depart until ALL cartons are opened and inspected. DO NOT allow them to leave without first documenting any damage on the Proof of Delivery (POD) and DO get the driver's signature on it and retain a copy. DO get photos BEFORE they come off the truck and photos of ANY damage to cartons and product. Our shipment weighed 560 pounds and the columns weigh in excess of 100 pounds each. Insist that the freight carrier assign two men to get the columns off the truck WITHOUT YOUR ASSISTANCE when they call to set a delivery appointment. Normally unloading is not a part of the delivery and is performed by the consignee. PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT - PCI may not have packaged correctly. In view of the apparent fragility of the columns, notwithstanding PCI Online claims to the contrary, the columns fractured. Regardless of how the damage was inflicted, and by whom, mere cardboard boxing of columns stacked upon one another and banded to a pallet less in length than the overhanging eight-foot columns does not afford adequate protection. Additionally, NO SPECIAL HANDLING REQUIREMENTS appear anywhere in any PCI website pages or available pdf literature. CONCLUSION: In view of the above, it is my VERY STRONG RECOMMENDATION that you DO NOT purchase products from PCI unless you can obtain a written and signed agreement from them that THEY ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGE TO THE SHIPMENT UNTIL IT IS DEPOSITED ON YOUR PROPERTY BY THEIR CARRIER and THEY obtain "CARGO GOODS IN TRANSIT INSURANCE" for the shipment AT THEIR EXPENSE.
When I ordered my columns, the order guy was very nice. He told me I'd have them within 7-10 days, which my email also said. It actually took just short of a month. I contacted customer service and nothing was solved. This has really put us back now that it's too cold to even put them up. Wish I had it to do over. I'd have used Menards or another big box store.

Super pleased with my product. Installed my shutters and the temperature was 9 degrees. Shutters were so soft, never brittle. Other than a few of the push tabs being bent, I was very impressed with this product. I will recommend your company to everyone who ask. I will also be ordering more products in the future as we continue our remodeling projects!
The boxes haven't been opened yet so I can't really say anything about the product. On delivery we had a slight problem when they could only give us a day and could not even break it down to am or pm. In the end we worked it out.

They are even more beautiful in person. The order shipped as stated and we received it quickly. I appreciate the personal assistance Sam provided me. This was a very well handled transaction. Sales Rep was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. After placing order I sent an e-mail on live chat requesting delivery information. It was answered promptly. Delivery company was very helpful. Driver could not have been more professional and courteous.
Columns appear to be of high quality. However, there are more blemishes to repair than I anticipated. These appear to possibly be from bubbles in molding process.
It is not possible for my column/pedestal to be more perfect!

I expected two samples and was sent only one. Timing was slow and sample was too small and not representative of finished profile. It is important that customers and review the product sample in its entirety, i.e. Capital, base, shaft section combined. Clearances, fit, design are all critical to ordering a product that can only be ordered online and has not local dealer to work with.
I worked with Elizabeth Hatch over the course of a full year during the construction of our new home. She was helpful in answering questions and quick to provide detailed quotes for the products we were interested in. The website made it easy to understand our options, and when we were ready to purchase, the process was very smooth. We ended up ordering columns which drop shipped and looked great. All's well that ends well. We started off on the wrong foot (I was told one thing, then another, then something else) but they were very helpful in trying to makes things right. The columns I ordered are exactly what we wanted. Appear to be very good quality and craftsmanship.

Delivery was ridiculous. Driver refused to come onto our property even though we have regular deliveries from larger trucks/semis.
We had to make arrangements at the last minute on the day of delivery to unload the columns from the truck, and then move them into our garage--a 1,000 foot distance from where the driver stopped his truck.
Product is great, salesman was exceptional in his customer service.
However, definitely would think twice about ordering from Pacific Columns due to the poor delivery based upon inexperienced and unqualified driver.

Good initial experience while placing order. I requested fork lift delivery and suppose get call back to confirm. Never got call back and was threatened by sells person like take it or you do not have choice!
Fed Ex do not even place goods on ground. You have unload yourself!
Sad. If its for single person or lady or handicapped person-they can not do that. Sale person would not cancel order either.
I received the columns promptly. They arrived in good condition despite the packaging was not as I expected (which is why I have one 4 rating). Only noticed one small ding/nick can easily be filled with putty.

As an architect doing business on an island, I deal with internet orders and deliveries constantly; supplies are limited locally, there is a vast warehouse online. Thus, I say with regret, because I like the product, that this has been the worst internet order experience I have had in the past fifteen years.
The original order was not correct, my attempts to rectify it were met with disinterest.
Long after my product should have been delivered I was still attempting to discover what the problem was.
I was finally contacted with the information that they did not have enough information to produce the product, could I supply them with some basic information. And on it went from there.

I corresponded via live chat before placing order of 2 column bases. Was told items typically ship 1-3 business days plus 3-4 business days of actual shipping. I indicated twice that time was an issue. Order placed Aug 24 but didn't leave warehouse until Sept 4; 9 business days later. Order received Sept 10 for a total of 12 business days between order and received dates. Very disappointed in being misled.
I received my order in a timely matter but feel my small order could have been sent ups at a lot cheaper rate.
It was a partial replacement pillar and was within the guidelines for other shipping methods.
I did ask when ordering if I could have it shipped ups and they assured me that it had to be sent with a certain carrier. Just wondering what the reasoning is behind your decision.
In the middle of my project, I discovered that I was sent the wrong sized balusters. Despite my painstaking efforts to detail my order correctly (based on disappointment with previous orders), including making sure that I was getting 1-1/4" balusters and not 1-1/2" balusters, I was sent the 1-1/2" size by mistake. This is extremely frustrating because I am trying to get my project done as quickly as possible to satisfy requests made by the lending institution overseeing a refinancing of our mortgage. Every day of delay is costing me more than 60.00 to lock in a low interest rate. Unfortunately, your company seems to dragging its heels in responding to my notification of the error.
I was looking for exterior house columns to replace current old ones I had. Pacific Columns made it easy to find what I need online. When I had a question, I spoke to a representative that help me pick the right columns for me. Shipping came faster than expected, with no issues. And, even though they said "curbside delivery" the trucker delivery guy place it in a very convenient spot for me, with no qualms. Definitely recommended purchase and service. And, the columns are of SOLID quality.
The parts I ordered came undamaged, went together easily, and look great. My only issue is in this day and age why it takes 3 weeks to get a stock item order. I live in Washington and my stuff shipped from Oregon via UPS. That's only a two day delivery time.
