PCI says "Based on the photos you sent, the defects shown are a result of damage sustained in transit. Damage was not noted on the carrier's bill of lading which releases them and our production team of liability. Because of this, I [PCI] cannot provide free replacements or a refund." CAUTION #1 - If you buy their columns, DO NOT allow the freight carrier to depart until ALL cartons are opened and inspected. DO NOT allow them to leave without first documenting any damage on the Proof of Delivery (POD) and DO get the driver's signature on it and retain a copy. DO get photos BEFORE they come off the truck and photos of ANY damage to cartons and product. Our shipment weighed 560 pounds and the columns weigh in excess of 100 pounds each. Insist that the freight carrier assign two men to get the columns off the truck WITHOUT YOUR ASSISTANCE when they call to set a delivery appointment. CAUTION #2 – PCI Terms & Policies at https://www.pacificcolumns.com/terms-and-policies state "Orders Shipping Common Carrier require you to unload the items." DO read the following: "To Delivery... And Beyond!: The Boundaries of Carrier Liability for Unloading (A Clear Answer to Muddled Facts)" at https://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=03897da1-330a-48a5-8983-76b53c01caf1 D. It reads in part:: Consignee Duty and Liability: A Clear Supreme Court Holding and Its Progeny Unlike many other situations, here, there is very clear case law on this point. The United States Supreme Court has squarely held that the duty to unload goods rests upon the consignee: The general rule is that it is the responsibility of the carrier... to `deliver' the goods by placing them in such a position as to make them accessible to the consignee. Normally unloading is not a part of the delivery and is performed by the consignee. PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT - PCI may not have packaged correctly. In view of the apparent fragility of the columns, notwithstanding PCI Online claims to the contrary, the columns fractured. Regardless of how the damage was inflicted, and by whom, mere cardboard boxing of columns stacked upon one another and banded to a pallet less in length than the overhanging eight-foot columns does not afford adequate protection. Additionally, NO SPECIAL HANDLING REQUIREMENTS appear anywhere in any PCI website pages or available pdf literature. CONCLUSION: In view of the above, it is my VERY STRONG RECOMMENDATION that you DO NOT purchase products from PCI unless you can obtain a written and signed agreement from them that THEY ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGE TO THE SHIPMENT UNTIL IT IS DEPOSITED ON YOUR PROPERTY BY THEIR CARRIER and THEY obtain "CARGO GOODS IN TRANSIT INSURANCE" for the shipment AT THEIR EXPENSE.
I gave specific information regarding delivery and was totally ignored. I like your products, but Ryan Schumaker will no longer be the rep that I will work with in the future.
The whole process was excellent and the columns showed up in an extremely well-packed crate with no damage.
An excellent experience all around and the product was exactly to specs.
I talked to pacific columns to make sure I was ordering the right size and style. It was quick, delivery time was relatively fast and the columns are beautiful. Will definitely use Pacific again.
I think the overall experience was very good. The sales person was very attentive, and called back quickly every time I called. I would purchase from Pacific Column again.
Great customer service. Sam Pease was excellent, making sure I was getting exactly what I thought I was getting every step along the way toward my customer columns. Thanks!
I have received a double order of capitals. I have requested assistance on returning the duplicate owner and have yet to receive guidance on how to return the duplicate items etc.
Final destination delivery was shakey and even with tracking was not as expected. Work needs to be done on the commplete information given to your end user on site deliveries.
I am very happy with the products and services I received from Pacific column. I am planning on ordering from them again. Products look great installed!
Pleasant to deal with. Helped with items I needed and helped me through the process of ordering paying and shipping. Items arrived with in the stated time frame.
Received the order in very good condition and in time.
We appreciate all the correspondence by sales team in order to get the products in time.
Excellent service.

The columns were delivered on friday. The nine old columns removed and the new columns were in were all installed in a day and half and they look great, just need to be painted.
So far all I have received is one tube of adhesive. I was expecting some hardware and other items with this. If I paid $27.00 for a tube of caulk, I won't be happy.
The products were easy to review and select, and we like what we received. There wasn't much firm information about the expected delivery time, but we had flexibility in when the product was needed.
We were happy with the product, not to happy with the delivery time. We were told it would be delivered a week prior to the actual delivery on both orders.
Every single component of the order was incorrect. From the cutting of the materials to the delivery address, from the materials quality to the ineffective customer service. Waiting several days for customer service to call back, not delivered within the promised term, very poor quality control on human-cut parts. Everything was wrong. We had to make a jig and re-cut the columns to save the job. That cost us $350. Was told by Salesman Goss that the columns were manufactured in La Brea, CA but that was a lie. They were actually made by a competitor and PacificColumns had little to no control. Shipping was high because of the farming out to a manufacturer that was much further away. In over 40 years of experience in the building trades, this was the singularly worst botch-up I have ever had the misfortune of tolerating. Only a full refund including all shipping could have possibly saved this vendor's reputation but that was not even possible, only a refund of $120 for the special cutting that was offered as a stock item on their website. Pathetic is how I must summarize this order.
I was playing phone and email tag with my sales rep. There were a few deals and sales that passed due to this and when I asked for them, he said it was too late but it wasn't my fault.
Wasn't sure how the column wraps would look, but after we installed them, we are very pleased with the look. Elizabeth Hatch, our sales rep., was very nice and helpful!
Garrett was extremely helpful and got quotes right away, now if the customer would make up their mind. That will be a Christmas miracle.
Thank you,
Wayne
It took me several years to find a contractor to install these columns and Zack kept in contact with me untell I found one I trusted we went back over the measurments etc before ordering,as of yet they havn't been installed but I'm sure they will fit as the old ones did thanks again to ZACK for all his help-jim
Pacific Columns was a delight to work with. Fast, responsive, and great customer service... Overall, a no brainer when it comes to the quality of their products and service.
I think you need to improve customer cervices because when I call to ask for my order they said That my order was deliver when it was not, then put me on
Hold and someone else answer and said that my order was never place, she put me on hold then she said that my order was going to be deliver the day, I got my order the next day as they toll me the delivery men was very nice and polite, thank you so much for service God bless
I ordered your catalog for product selection. It was processed and shipped very quickly and it is an excellent resouce catalog for Architectural items, along with the columns.
Ryan Shumaker worked with us closely over a period of several weeks to select the right columns for our restoration project. We exchanged photos and measurements. He requested more photos of a particular type, for clarification. He worked with the guy at Turncraft to understand exactly what was attainable, and how to make the columns look as much like originals as possible, and in some narrow cases, when we should deviate from the originals because it would actually look more-or-less the same as the others on our row but a little "better" in some way that's hard to express.
So we were very happy with the customer service, and the attention to detail. Ryan understood that we were trying to get our restoration project right, and didn't begrudge us the time and effort that were needed to do that. The shafts of the columns were a bit damaged in shipping, and we're not yet sure if we'll look to replace any of them. I think for wood columns, one needs to make sure the entire column is wrapped in a soft material. There was some Styrofoam in the crate ours came in, but it wasn't quite enough to fully protect the bottom of the shaft. That may have been the shipper's problem; I'm not sure.
Michael was great and gave me great service and received product quickly. Thanks and I'll be burying more and I've already told other contractor about Michael abs Pacific Columns.
The columns we bought were a little over priced as we had to hire laborers to saw in half. We weren't informed of them coming in 1 piece ( WHOLE). Please inform buyers of this when they order 1/2 columns.
We will order from you as soon as we get to the stage of building project.
YOUR ORDER AND DELIVERY PERSON WAS GREAT!
