Pacific Columns

Pacific Columns was very easy to deal with. The 12"x10' columns took some time to arrive, but reasonable given their special-order nature and truck delivery. They were strapped to a really long pallet and arrived safe-n-sound.

This whole experience was unsatisfactory. First, I was given incorrect tracking on an order that was going to Rhode Island, rather than Portland, OR, my home. When the columns were finally delivered, the pallet was smashed on one side and one of the two columns ruined. The response to the damage issue was OK, and a new column ordered and eventually shipped but the delivery didn't come when it was scheduled, and I had taken off an entire Friday afternoon to received it. It did finally come on the following Monday. Not unhappy with the columns themselves, but the process was ridiculously drawn-out, especially given that the columns are actually made in Oregon, about five hours south of my house!

Customer service was excellent! Willing to go out of their way to satisfy any questions; however, the overall price including shipping was much higher than if we would have went to a local Lowe's and purchased them. If we had known of such the difference, we would have not ordered. The columns are beautiful, but the caps are of much less quality. Very disappointed in them. Thanks to all who were involved in getting our products to us!

When I first called I got Layla by phone, after searching for porch columns online, and she kept in touch and answered all my questions and sent me emails with information, all the facts that I needed, and all the instructions we needed. Very personable, patient and considerate. You have a great staff and a good product. We are very pleased with how our columns look. Still need to paint them, but they are looking good! Should we ever need a similar product again I would definitely use your company again. Service was great.

Pacific Columns provided great customer service over the phone during the ordering process and worked with me to arrive at an appropriate specification for my particular circumstances. Follow up by the sales representative was outstanding and the product was delivered as agreed. The fit at the corners was not perfect and I needed some guidance on whether or not they were usable. Pacific Columns provided information on how to deal with it and a credit to compensate me for the small amount of extra work involved. I'm a new user of this product and needed some assurance that it would work out well before I started applying the adhesive. I did not think the credit was necessary; but, it was a nice gesture. In the end, the installation went very well, I'm satisfied with my purchase, and will likely order again.

Sam Pease was excellent and was very helpful. He provides outstanding customer service and even gave us his personal cell number on friday in case the contractors needed help. We received a bit more product that we needed and it may have increased the cost. I received an email to return the balustrades but i probably paid a bit more for the additional railing. Overall a very good experience.

The products l ordered from this company were great. The price was very competitive. When something was damaged they took care of it. However, it would be nice to get the tracking #faster so that I can schedule my jobs better. Also it would be helpful if customer service was more informed about when and were your products are.

I have ordered this product twice. Once for my front porch and later my back decks. A first quality product both times. Easy to install. The sales person very helpful and set up correct kits for my projects. I would recommend Pacific Columns to anyone who asked.

We ordered 4 capitals for a church we are restoring. Everything up to and including ordering was fine. They said they could cut the capitals (split) for us and decided to go with that. The order came and the cuts were so far off It literally threw our entire schedule off by more than a week. Some areas were over an inch out of spec. There was no way these could be presented to our client. We had to go out and buy the equipment to re-cut the capitals.

Our clients are not happy that we missed our window, and we lost quite a bit money in labor and materials to get these cut down. All we were told is the cuts were "kinda hard to make". If you're not set up to make proper cuts why bother offering the service. They where a standard cut that was offered.

Unfortunately this was the first and last time we order from this company. The 2 stars are for the customer service provided in ordering the capitals.

I had a bit of a issue while ordering from my computer so I wrote down all the Part #s that I needed and the people on the customer service were completely helpful to me and very easy to work with.
I will definitely be shopping here again, actually, I'm already working on a new order.

My sales rep was great, no bad experience with the whole front-end experience. But when it came to the delivery... the Columns looked like they fell off a truck with chips and scrapes. There were parts missing and the packaging was destroyed.
I am reluctant to order again and would expect a follow-up customer service call.

I need to return the column. It arrived cracked. You all should at least wrap these things with bubble wrap - if not completely wrapped at least do the ends and the middle. I can't use the column cover now and am in a time crunch, so I'm finding another way to do this while I send yours back for a refund.

I don't think I received very complete info from the sales person. Being an older home owner and not knowing much about columns or how to read spec sheet, I didn't get complete info from the representative. I wish he would have talked to my general contractor. I will let you know how it finally works out. I may have to return them.

I ordered column wraps. The quality of the product certainly did not meet my expectations. F The material is flimsy and difficult to work with in long lengths. For $1000 per column I expected much more.

The columns, bases and capitals were not well packed and arrived damaged. I contacted customer service and was asked to provide photographs of the damage. I sent this information in and 24 hours later am still awaiting a response. I asked for the replacement materials to be sent overnight so my contractor could complete the project and was told this was unlikely. Now I will have to pay additional rental charges for the scaffolding to install the columns when replacement parts arrive.

I would not order from Pacific Columns again.

There was some disconnect between the customer service department and the production wearhouse. It took too long to get answers on where my shipment was and why it had been delayed. They need to ha e direct access communication.

The deliver was supposed to be last Friday, it is Thursday and I still do not have my order. I want to be reimbursed for the shipping at least. The holding costs for the project is $8,255 per month and the original order was placed subject to rapid delivery. I can buy the same columns at Home Depot or Lowes for a slightly higher price but your sales rep assured me that it would be shipped out right away. I am not satisfied with the service. The shipper said that they could not contact me to deliver the order.

Ordering was messed-up. I clicked the "order now" button, but that didn't take. Had to order again several weeks later when I learned no order was placed.

Shipper did not contact in advance -- LUCKILY we were here when they attempted delivery and I was able to give guidance as to how they could be unloaded.

We are extremely pleased with Consultant Robin McNair, she continued to contact me through out the process of my decision making on what I wanted. Delivery of the product ( 2 weeks) was as scheduled and arrived on time, complete, and in good condition.

I saved a bundle on these 9 foot load bearing columns, nearly one third the price I was quoted by Lowe's!
They got here in a reasonable time, shipping free. The freight company informed me of delivery time, they were on time and the driver was very nice.

I am very displeased with the level of customer service I have received. I initially spoke with a customer service representative when placing my order. I specifically added the quick ship option to speed up the shipping time which cost $50. Well, after repeated calls to Pacific Columns, I was told by customer support that my package was about to be shipped. However, I never received any feedback on the status. They also assured me that because of my troubles with the quick ship, they would refund the $50 express shipping cost which they never did. After 3 weeks, I finally received my package when I should have received it a lot sooner. Overall, I am satisfied with the product, but the customer service is horrible! I can't believe the run-a-round and lip service they give to customers.

I was a first time browser of their website and requested their catalog. It was nice for within an hour I had a customer service rep contact me personally to see if there was anything else they could help me with. Amazing, I was expecting an automated response and I got a real person! The catalog is beautiful and full of so many idea generating items.

The capital is a bit flimsy for my tastes and translucent? I contracted you on the tracking number that did not work properly but received no response. The columns showed up without any appointed time or day, no call, no email and no prior notice. It was lucky someone was present to unload the columns when they arrived. I was at a meeting at the time.

To clarify my response I am assuming we are referring to the informational material sent to me.
