PCI says "Based on the photos you sent, the defects shown are a result of damage sustained in transit. Damage was not noted on the carrier's bill of lading which releases them and our production team of liability. Because of this, I [PCI] cannot provide free replacements or a refund." CAUTION #1 - If you buy their columns, DO NOT allow the freight carrier to depart until ALL cartons are opened and inspected. DO NOT allow them to leave without first documenting any damage on the Proof of Delivery (POD) and DO get the driver's signature on it and retain a copy. DO get photos BEFORE they come off the truck and photos of ANY damage to cartons and product. Our shipment weighed 560 pounds and the columns weigh in excess of 100 pounds each. Insist that the freight carrier assign two men to get the columns off the truck WITHOUT YOUR ASSISTANCE when they call to set a delivery appointment. CAUTION #2 – PCI Terms & Policies at https://www.pacificcolumns.com/terms-and-policies state "Orders Shipping Common Carrier require you to unload the items." DO read the following: "To Delivery... And Beyond!: The Boundaries of Carrier Liability for Unloading (A Clear Answer to Muddled Facts)" at https://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=03897da1-330a-48a5-8983-76b53c01caf1 D. It reads in part:: Consignee Duty and Liability: A Clear Supreme Court Holding and Its Progeny Unlike many other situations, here, there is very clear case law on this point. The United States Supreme Court has squarely held that the duty to unload goods rests upon the consignee: The general rule is that it is the responsibility of the carrier... to `deliver' the goods by placing them in such a position as to make them accessible to the consignee. Normally unloading is not a part of the delivery and is performed by the consignee. PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT - PCI may not have packaged correctly. In view of the apparent fragility of the columns, notwithstanding PCI Online claims to the contrary, the columns fractured. Regardless of how the damage was inflicted, and by whom, mere cardboard boxing of columns stacked upon one another and banded to a pallet less in length than the overhanging eight-foot columns does not afford adequate protection. Additionally, NO SPECIAL HANDLING REQUIREMENTS appear anywhere in any PCI website pages or available pdf literature. CONCLUSION: In view of the above, it is my VERY STRONG RECOMMENDATION that you DO NOT purchase products from PCI unless you can obtain a written and signed agreement from them that THEY ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGE TO THE SHIPMENT UNTIL IT IS DEPOSITED ON YOUR PROPERTY BY THEIR CARRIER and THEY obtain "CARGO GOODS IN TRANSIT INSURANCE" for the shipment AT THEIR EXPENSE.
It took the columns two months to be delivered from set delivery date. When the columns arrived the foundations or bases were chipped & cracked. I requested & paid for factory painted columns that were NOT painted.
I am currently seeking a resolution!
Split columns are very easy to install, they really provide a great finish to any existing column that you want to spruce up, I will definitely buy from Pacific Columns in the near future. The representative (Robin McNair) that handled our order was very professional courteous, and helpful.
Thank you,
Pacific Columns
Quick and easy...
It took a couple of calls to ensure that i was getting (columns) was what I wanted at the best configuration / price.
Chris Appa was my sales representative and was very knowledgeable and helpful.
From order to delivery was much quicker than i expected.
I would definitely use these folks again.
The products seem to be made of quality material cant wait to install.Problem was both my columns were broke.2 new ones will be shipped today. I hope they include the mounting hardware for the scamozzi capitals that was left out the first shipment.
Cant wait to get them up hope it all works well.
Customer Service responsibility of the salesman. He did not give a reasonable delivery time. The sales receipt states - 7 - 10 days. I purchased the columns Jan 6,2015. I received the columns on January 29,2015. The first call to verify date of delivery, I was told February 6th - which was not acceptable. I had to pay the contractor's down time for the delay (the delay caused a work stoppage). I am not happy about the extra cost when an accurate delivery date should have been give to me when I placed the order. I recommend removing the estimate days for delivery. It was misleading, especially when I verified the delivery and it was a month's gap/ I am not happy with your customer services practices at all.
Excellent quality columns and reasonable lead time.
Sales rep Ryan Shumaker was very helpful and patient and responded to all my questions and requests very timely prior to me ordering columns.
Although I have not heard from him after I ordered the columns, columns were delivered within 4 weeks of the order as promised.
Helpful to determine what I needed and shipped quickly. I had to contact you when my shipment was missing four pieces but the freight company found them after I photographed the boxes missing and were found in a warehouse somewhere.
Pacific Columns are great. I* called to get some advice and they recommended the perfect column. Although I paid extra to have them expedited, I am very happy with the quality and they are an excellent value
It was difficult getting accurate order status information probably since it was a second or third party vendor and there was not good communication with them, otherwise received order on time and the product was as ordered.
Column came in damaged, talked to customer service, they requested pictures which I sent and I have not received any communication since. This is holding up a job and I have a limited window to complete it
Sales person made it a great experience. He took the information I gave him and actually turned my to a different product than I originally intended. The new product was perfect and definitely met our needs and budget. Definitely recommend.
These were fiberglass split column surrounds that we ordered. After installing them following the brief and sketchy installation instructions you provided (much of which was verbal clarification of poorly written/incomplete printed instructions), we had, and continue to have, problems with these column wraps moving and shifting due to expansion and contraction.
I am so happy that I bought these columns It was a great experience to deal with Pacific Columns. It seemed so complicated to me to figure out what size columns we needed until I called this company. They were so helpful in helping in helping us get the correct size. My columns have been put in and were absolutely a perfect fit. I would definitely deal with this company again and highly recommend them
I purchased a single 9-foot column...so not the largest order Pacific Column ever received. Nevertheless I would have liked to see a few more hints, actually ANY hints at all, on how to install these columns. I currently have the column temporarily installed on my patio where it will serve as an asethetic cover for a 4"-post I installed to support one corner of a shade sail. I will figure out how best to secure this column to the concrete base as well as the top to the post. The column was ordered split but I do not expect any issues in covering the seam. (It would have been nice, however, if they recommended a product they have had success with.) Also the top and base are made of plastic so I will need to figure out a suitable coating method to make it look concrete. Again it would have been nice if PC had given me some hints...
OK, I'll figure this out and if I need any other columns I'll still check out Pacific Columns as they otherwise have a fine product, if not a bit pricey.
Ordering was very easy. The only issue we had was with shipping. Originally we were given a 12 hour delivery window on a certain day. The columns did not even come that day. Three days later we were called to schedule another delivery. This time we were given a 3 hour window. The columns were then delivered three hours late. Other than the day and a half of paying our crew to sit and wait for the shipment, the process was fine. I think you may need a new shipping system.
I ordered a railing system for my porch. All of the six foot railing boxes had 36" rails but the eight foot box the rails were only 35". After getting back with the company they sent me some 36" rails to complete my porch railing system. I was very satisfied with the courteous people that I dealt with in the company. Thanks for the finished product. It looks great.
I was sent a high-quality catalog of the many great products offered by Pacific Columns. I am a contractor who specializes in the restoration of old homes, and have had trouble in the past finding good materials at a reasonable price. Pacific Columns is able to offer such products, and the wide range of their products is impressive.
Website is great!, Salesperson did a great job!, The only problem I had was the delivery from FED EX. Several of the boxes that contained the foam Tuscan caps were damaged. There were footprints on top of one of them. Additionally, two of the columns were dinged on the corners. (I believe I can hide that though) One of the foam pieces for the tuscan cap was snapped in half. The Driver was very nice and we exchanged information. He called FED EX and reported the damage and got a claim number. I am waiting for them to call. Not sure if there is a way to enforce FED EX to be more careful with the orders.
At this time I have not yet installed my columns will be working on that this weekend.
Zachary Miller is on top his game. One of the best vender representatives I've ever had the privilege working with! If I had any issues; shipping took a bit longer than I expected (roughly 15 days).
Will be using Pacific Columns in the future!

Customer service was excellent, price was reasonable and I did not find a better price elsewhere.
My only complaint is that the Endura Craft was described to me as a composite material similar to composite decking. It is a much softer material than that however. You can scratch it with your fingernail. If a chair bumps against it, it will dent. Given its softness, I'm concerned with preserving it long term. Had I know it was this soft I would have went with Endura Stone. It should definitely not be described as similar to composite decking since that is a much much more resilient product.
I received the product undamaged and the quality is to my full satisfaction. However, I wanted fluted column while I was shipped plain. You have issued an RMA for me to ship back the column. Shipping back the column for exchange required too much time as the job cannot be pushed further off schedule. I asked for price reduction, which was refused. Disappointed.
We ordered about a dozen column bases for a 1898-1900 porch restoration. Our original wood column bases had rotted out over the years and needed replacement. We choose the bases made from a poly material to avoid the issue of rot in the future. The new bases are almost an identical match to the original wood bases. The company representative was very patient with us during the ordering process. We can't wait to install the new column bases this summer.
Zachary Miller was great to work with. We first started looking at your products last fall and decided to wait a few months to order since we wouldn't be installing them over winter. Zach followed up from time to time and was very responsive to all of my questions and requests for samples, etc. I was nervous about placing an order for a product I hadn't seen, but the samples and customer service gave me much more confidence. We haven't installed our railing and columns yet, but after inspecting the materials upon delivery, I think we're going to be very happy with it!
Order went well, up until shipping time, there was a delay of a few days, only explanation was that the driver was an idiot. Delivery was made, not the end of the world but still I had higher expectations.
I received my columns in a timely manner. I was surprised that the caps and bases were white. They have not been installed at this time, but will be shortly. At that time I will be looking for bannisters.
