I was pleasantly surprised in how wonderful everyone was at this location! Seriously, wonderful people and made the entire process easy and stress free! I had an appt at 8am. I was OUT by 8:50am. Every person smiled and genuinely, had pleasant all over them! Go HERE! Thanks Hudson st for making my experience a great one. I appreciate good service.
Nothing on this website is clear. It is as if, once they take your money, you're on your own. I paid for the family plan, allowing 4 users, but only saw one (me). After some thought, I filled out two applications but had apparently opened more than 4 in my struggling to understand the website. This maxed out my account, making it so I could print NONE of them. Not even the first four. They then wanted me to pay another $30 to "upgrade" my account to family to create 4 more "accounts". Stay far away.
I though I was using the official government site and I paid $38. I sent email to this site and they responded fairly quickly. I asked if $38 will be credited towards passport application. I was told no, this their fee. I am not as concerned about their fee, as I am concerned they can use use the info for identity theft. They have everything - SS number, date of birth, address.
This is a fraudulent site. If you are on autopilot, thinking you are filling out your form online, don't. I feel like an idiot. They collect your info - fill out your credit reports if you fall for their ploy.
I, too, was taken by this deceptive company. It never occurred to me there would be a private company that would charge for forms that are publicly available. It is not until you have filled out the renewal application that a $38 charge appears. I thought it was a part of the fee for renewal.
Completed a legitimate US passport application on this site and paid the processing fee, only to learn when presenting the form at the Post Office that Passport-USA is a scam. Postal agent called and confirmed with the U.S. State Department.
Like the rest, I was fooled and didn't take notice of the. Org on the address. passportusa.org charged me $38 just for the application then I received a notice that I need to pay $110 more to process the renewal. That was when I got suspicious so I started to read the experiences of others. I now need to work to get my original passport back and try to reverse the $38 fee I paid. So disappointed in myself and these internet pirates.
I paid the $38 thinking my passport application was going to be processed as I have never had a passport before so really didn't know what to expect. After going to the city's passport application office and told them about the $38. They said it was a scam. I decided to try to get my money back. Went back to the site PassportUSA.org and contacted them via email. They responded very quickly. I told them I wanted to cancel my "subscription." She said no problem and within about 10 minutes, my money was back in my account. I asked about my information from the application and she said once the money is refunded, the account is deleted from their database. I think I would contact the credit reporting agencies just in case. I called the City's passport application office back to tell them the site that took my money and they will be contacting the state department and reporting them as fraudulent. Hopefully something can get done and people can get their money back.
I didn't complete the purchase but I did dump all of my important information to the site before I realize it is a scam. Trying to figure out how to get my information removed. If anyone can figure out how to make a formal complaint please post what you did. I'll do the same.
This company charges you $38 for your passport application, which is supposed to be free. The phone number to get a refund is *******149
I was told I would be refunded the money without questions asked and that my information/ account would be deleted/ my private info would be inaccessible to anyone else, but I don't know that for sure.
If you have had the same experience, please report this company to IdentityTheft.gov. If they get enough reports, they will complete an investigation.
If you call IdentifyTheft.gov after filing a report online, they will provide you with next steps.to help protect your security.
Do not fall for this! All you need to do is go to the. Gov website for passports and it's the same thing at no charge to you until you actually apply for the passport! They will charge you $38.00 for a "subscription" that from what I can tell, only allows you the ability to print and fill out the ds-11 form on their site and they provide a link to the. Gov site to check the status of your application. You can do all of this without paying them $38.00! I called them immediately and got a full refund thank goodness. Pleases just go to the.gov website for filling for a passport.
These people charge you $38.00 to print off passport form that you can download and print for free. I got scammed! Make sure you only use sites that end in. Gov.
Not sure how they can get away with this!
Sneaky vocabulary promises "Hassle and Safe Free on-line assistance" is large and clear misleading the reader that the service is free, and the information that this is a private company on the top of the page in an estimated size 5 font, informing you that they are a private company is well hidden on the top line where most readers like me miss completely, but I find the address of. Org especially well done. I had always understood that to mean non-profit. So the fee of $38 to be led through 6 pages that an 8 year old could have done makes me ashamed of myself. Had I really believed $38 was going to the US government for a passport? I've learned a lesson that's for sure,
Ok if I had did a check on the reviews I would see this is a third party now they have all our information and $38 that was wasted it is a free form! I was under the impression I was on an official website and this was part of the process. Don't do it!
The site leads you to believe you can process your application through them to receive your passport (read the fine print when they send you an email). When I turned my application in to the National Passport Processing in Philadelphia, Pa. It was returned because they did not receive a payment. When I called they explained to me that was not their site and Passport USA should not be allowed to do that. I will be turning them in to the Attorney Generals office. They said they would refund my $38 which is a membership fee to them. You don't need to go through them, go to your local post office. When and if I receive my refund I will update my review
I'm with the other reviews on here. I can't believe I didn't realize it was a scam until after I put in everything they asked. Yet I trusted because it was the first thing on Google. Now I'm scared. What can they do with it? Sell it on the dark web?
I gave out sensitive information to these crooks. They are posing as a US government site, add no value to the passport application process, and they are not even located in the USA.
If it were possible, I would rate ZERO stars.
Tip for consumers:
Leave this website. Do not enter anything.
Scam. It charges you money to just fill out the form. This is a free process on the legitimate website.
I thought i was paying the fee to submit my passport application but it was only to store the file on their server. You still have to pay the fees to submit the application.
All this to say that they now have all my personal information!
I really thought I was the government site to renew my passport. It is so tricky how it pops up first on the search engine and the wording... it was late, I worked all day, I'm rushing trying to get passports done for a trip... ugh what a scam! I am so afraid now that they have all my personal info and my son's! I am freaking out. I paid the $38 dollars not even thinking because everything nowadays always costs extra money for this and extra money for that... and I haven't renewed passports in many years! I am so much more worried over all of the private information I typed in that form than the stupid $38 bucks... oh if that gets in the wrong hands along with my credit card number I paid with! Ohhhhh... thank you whoever posted that *******149 number. I am going to try that in the morning and see what happens. I am sooooooo mad right now.
Gave them all our info and paid the $38 fee. Couldn't find the 2nd form that needed filled out so we went to the postal office only for them to inform us that this website is a scam. Seen below a number to call to get a refund and all your info deleted so hopefully that will take care of it. Would like to know if calling that number has actually worked for anyone. *******149. If this is a well known scam site why is it still running?
Just like all others, I got fooled by this site I found on Google to renew my passport. I thought the $38 was for the processing fee of the passport. They cleverly leave out the actual fee for renewal of $110 anywhere on the site and in the documentation.
Do not use this site, the official site to renew your PP is travel.state.gov. How come our government is not all over this? The cost to renew your PP is $110.00 and you have to send a check of MO with your application..
Passport USA is not a government site. You don't get your passports from Passport USA. It charges you $38 for a simple application that cost you nothing from the real government site. Applications are free, not $38.
I'm canceling the charge on my credit card and hoping this "company" will respond to my email asking them to refund the money. I am reporting them as a scam. I pray my personal information isn't shared. This site needs to come down.
I can't believe I fell for this website and took the bait. I got charged $38 for FREE Passport Paperwork. I didn't realize my error (since I thought this was a legitimate US Passport Application) until I went to the passport office to turn in my application. $38 for this. What a scam and I am a fool for falling for this. I am now disputing the charge and putting up reviews everywhere so that people know this paperwork is free and stay away from these scammers.
This is a site that poses as an offical us passport application and renweal site.
They have you populate the application that you can get for FREE from the official us govt site. They appear to be official but are not!
I have spent al day putting credit freezes on my info and that of my 11 yr old daughter.
I am VERY angry that after all these reviews that GOOGLE has not done anything to remove the priority this site is given.
The site fakes people to fill our government form for $38 while anyone can do that free on the government site, and definitely scamming site. They provide statements that they are not government and that you should pay government fees, etc. but the location is correctly chosen so you would not see them. Mikhail
