I can't speak to the quality of PeggyBank's film processing, but only to that of their customer service. I bought a Groupon coupon to use their service and, because the offer was stated ambiguously, thought the money could be used slightly differently than what they said it could be when I tried to apply the coupon. When I asked the owner (politely) why I couldn't apply the money differently, instead of answering he basically told me to take my business elsewhere. I did. Fortunately Groupon gave me a full refund as a result.
I SEnt all my video tapes and memories of my kids to them and I have no way of getting it back. They do not answer emails.
Does anyone have any way to contact them?
The absolue WORST online purchase experience I have ever had! I have waited over a YR for my order. I too got the groupon! I purchased it in December 2013 -- that's right - 2013! I started to follow- up in March, May, August and to day I was told that even though I was told my order was started in September of 2014 - -that's right September of 2014 -! That the company was sold & stopped all production and shipped any unfinished product to their new facility in California. So they said I have to wait at least 3 more weeks! And I only got that because I complained bitterly otherwise they said it would take another 8 weeks! The poor customer service rep I talked to must hate her job because I bet all she does is apologize all day. I'll take bets that I don't get it then either! I'll let you all know if I get it before March 2015!
Found this business through a Groupon offer. After finding out that the coupon really wouldn't apply to my order they charged an additional $34.95 to my credit card when they supposedly "started" my order. That was in February of this year, my order was to transfer ONE vhs tape to a dvd, it is now July and despite my phone calls to the company no one can tell me where my vhs tape is in the system or when my order will arrive... no one ever contacted me by phone or email to let me know that they are 4 or 5 months behind... terrible service... terrible company!
My daughters and I sent 6 rolls of super8 film to be converted to digital a year ago. I received my order after 8 months. My daughters have not received their orders back after a year. I'm afraid we've lost our treasured family film. Don't trust PeggyBack with your film of precious memories.
Wish I could rate 0. Used groupon then an additional $150. Then another $9.99. Have received NOTHING!. Is there any way or place to get help? Is there any repritable company thatdoes video ttransfer?
I sent my items in for processing which I had bought a Groupon and sent a note with instructions as to what I wanted done and if any questions call me. I guess the note was discarded... they sent me an email stating they would process my order as soon as I gave authorization to charge me x amount of dollars. If I could get ahold of them I could explain everything since I shouldn't owe x amount of dollars. To no avail I have called, left messages, emailed again and again. I guess Groupon can not even get ahold of them now... so my order is in limbo and has been for quite some time! I would just like my personal items back and forget the who thing. But I don't know how that will happen if I can't get in touch. Maybe I will try mailing them a letter. What a nightmare... wouldn't recommend them for a million dollars
Like the other reviewer, I too made the mistake of using Groupon to access Peggybank and have some slides converted. Once my slides were finally converted (took months) they failed to notify me they were available to download from their server. After several unanswered phone requests I found out they had mis-typed my e-mail address and never bothered to correct it even after repeated requests from me to check it. I finally was able to access my slides but only for 2 weeks (vice the contracted 30 day period). I have now spent the last 2 weeks trying to get anyone at Peggybank to return my calls or e-mails to fix this. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
This company had my tapes for over a year and keep giving me excuse after excuse for delay. Today they sent my tapes back without and correspondence or refund. DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY
Placed an order purchased through Groupon in April. Still waiting for my DVD. Lots of excuses, no product. Will never us them again
Answer: Probably not...
Answer: The PeggyBank founder is Jim Simon. I researched and found that he has opened Peggy Bank companies across several states. He appears to bankrupt one and open another in another state. He also merges PeggyBank with other companies like Scandisk when they atart to fail by taking in more orders than they can fulfill. I was fortunate to get my materials back through Scandisk, but have not received any of the money I paid for the services and extra flash drives for multiple copies of the scans. I tracked Jim Simon's activities from Omaha to California when I decided to follow the advice from Mary on this page and file a complaint with the state of California Department of Justice. They have taken up the pursuit. I started the process on line, if you choose to do so.
Answer: How did you get your tapes back? They still have mine!
Answer: Has anyone ever heard of anything happening with this? I see there is a lawsuit by a Miller vs. Groupon for Groupon continuing to sell their PeggyBank vouchers long after they realized there were major issues, but this was in 2016 and I can't find any information on how the suit went. I'm assuming everyone's lawyers are just making tons of money dragging it out. PeggyBank was either bought out or went bankrupt. There is a company in Indiana that seems to have had some dealing with them at some point, but they no longer list them as a subsidiary or any other current association with them. I at least got my videos and photos back, but lost all access to the digitized files that I paid for.
Answer: I had to pay 24.99 for return postage for both my boxes. We sent 13 VHS tapes in each. I thought that was outrageous, but I paid it anyway.
Answer: I was told mine was in the line to be completed many times, only to find out This wasn't true. Finally just asked for all my tapes back, took them a few months to send them back.
Answer: It took me calling for 9 months - We could have made a baby in that time! After demands to just return my films, they finally (after a year) returned them with the CD of their contents.
