There needs to be some "administrative" work done on pinterest. All the bad language and name calling is miserable.
Reporting single pins is not enough, stop letting these jerks put up nasty pornography on your site!
The ANATHEMA of a good usefull site... pushy, and unnecessarily intrusive,, poorly designed and unnecessary at all!
First, I've been a member of Pinterest for just a few weeks. I found having to wait to be "invited" rather pretentious though I suppose it keeps out the great unwashed who would infuse the site with unwanted trash.
Here is my experience so far. After accepting the "invitation," I was asked to choose my areas of interest by checking boxes. I came back to the site a couple of days later when I had more time. Everything... and I mean e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g that was pinned to my account was from the same person who, if the numbers are correct, apparently likes everything that every other member likes only think in numbers that are incomprehensible. I tried to get rid of this person, block her pins, block her name so that I might enjoy a variety of what other members have to offer. Well, apparently the geniuses at Pinterest have no intention of allowing members to block content they find objectionable or redundant. Now... that's scary.
I accessed the "Contact" page and sent a note asking, no really begging, the powers that be at Pinterest to either block from my account what I would consider to be no more than a high-class spammer, and, if they couldn't or wouldn't do that, to close my account. Seeing only pins from one person exclusively at the expense of others whose work and interests I would like to view is not my concept of a well designed social networking/media site. Needless to say, no one has responded. No surprise, really.
There should be a function for members to block other members content they find objectionable or just don't want to see. There should also be a way to close one's membership out.
I think the concept of Pinterest is a fairly good one. There just has to be a lot more functionality for the user to manage his/her account.
I've been trying to get advisement on an issue that I reported a week ago that regards the comment section on my Pinterest quote board being cut off/truncated:
A Pinterest help desk staff member answered my initial inquiry, a week ago, explaining that there had been changes made to the lay out. She also acknowledged that she was aware that the comments section on the pins were being cut off/truncated. She said that they were working to resolve the problem with the truncated comments. I then received an email that said the issue had been "closed". Here's the thing: I didn't "close" the issue. And, more critically, the problem has not been resolved. I still have not been contacted as to how the issue with restoring my comments section on my board is being handled.
So, I attempted to contact, again, today using the same correspondence thread, but I got an error message saying that my email is "undeliverable". I, then, opened up a new ticket which re-explains the problem I reported a week ago, only to receive what I believe is a formulized response from the Pinterest technical staff. This form response does not address anything to do with the specific problem I reported very clearly -multiple times, now. I'm getting VERY frustrated.
For over two years, I have put a great deal of energy, time, and heart into my Pinterest quotes board. It's been a very meaningful activity for me, personally. However, I have no use for the Pinterest board if my personalized comments will not appear in full - which, until very recently have always appeared complete and visible at the bottom of the quote.
I am very disappointed in Pinterest due to the lack of consideration in not notifying users of the pending layout changes and, most of all, for making it difficult to get direct answers about the status of the problem-solving regarding restoring the comments section, initially acknowledged to me by the help desk.
How about you learn how to make your website actually work and load things :) it sucks using a website that won't even load, boooo yall suck
They have made it impossible to use, especially for adding pins or inputting our text to t he pin. Or adding linkages that are necessary. Many photos require attribution, but they make that impossible as well.
For instance, i uploaded a photo from Wikimedia. I tried to create a link to the photographer's permissions page under the photo. But stupid pinterest would not publish my comment, it just disappeared. I have no idea why, or how i am supposed to show a link and give the photographer credit! His work can be shared but it must be linked.
It's nearly impossible to just make the site work correctly if you are a contributor and must manage your pins. Nothing makes sense, you have to constantly use trial and error to make things work. And then they do not work, as i have just given an example. You can't contact any person who runs pinterest either. It's impossible. There is nothing but an entirely crazy making runaround of fake links going nowhere and are of no help whatsoever.
Pinterest is so closed off from the feedback of users, who create content, that they have No idea of what the issues are for users. The insane, super stressful, utterly frustrating issues.
Pinterest doesn't work. It is nothing but a huge headache and rather impossible to add any photos, or text, so -- i will not use it more than maybe a few times a year at most. If even that.
Also if i happen on a pinterest pin on google, i usually click back out quickly as that is a whole nuther set of enraging frustrations and obstacles and anything but enjoyable.
Something has been dreadfully wrong at pinterest for quite some time, they neglect their site and ignore and offend the users to the nth degree, especially content contributors. It is a wonder that site is still up.
Hopefully those losers will be done soon, so a competent group of people can put up a site like it but infintely better for the contributors and users.
Pinterest ban my account and say you are againts our spam policy.
Really a very non coperative website
IF you want to browse pics for hours, this is a great place to be. Just type in keywords and enjoy.
They are awful. Im not exaggerating the customer service is atrocious. I don't care about the consumer at all. My account had gotten flagged for spamming I'm actually a business account. And I rely on it for my business. I was really upset that they had suspended my account. I reached out to them playing my case letting them know that look I use it for business I wasn't trying to rig the system or spam anyone. I barely even post. After reviewing the guidelines that they referred me too on what's considered spam. I still don't feel like I violated anything. The representative wouldn't tell me why my account would not be reactivated. So I tried creating another account. As I said I use it for business and as much as I hate Pinterest I still kind of need it for my business. It does generate traffic to my site. Come to find out that my site has been banned. Due to inappropriate I barely even post. After reviewing the guidelines that they referred me to on what's considered spam. I still don't feel like I violated anything. Come to find out that my site has been banned due to inappropriate. I sell products that are not offensive. I honestly feel like this is the biggest load of garbage. I honestly feel like Pinterest are way too particular. They don't care about the business at all. I actually had a tailwind account and I had to cancel it because now I can't use Pinterest for my business. They just don't care please steer clear I honestly wish I hadn't wasted so much time. With my first Pinterest account because it was a lot of time in hours that I put into getting that account viewers and followers wasted for nothing.
I'm a guy and I even like pinterest. It's a great way to save your favorites with pictures.
I just loved this site. So much interesting stuff there and its easy to use. Wonderful site.
Only create an account here if you want it to take over your whole life! (o: LOVE IT!
Pinterest is just amazing. I couldn't even ask for more about this site. I so love it. ;)
Love asks me no questions, and gives me endless support...( Love is Life)...
I totally agree with the other positive reviews! The idea of Pinterest is simply great!
I am on pinterest and this is really really a nice site, love it
My girlfriend loves this site. It is definitely worth 5 stars from this guy.
I am not a woman, but I do get pretty addicted to this site! It is pretty neat concept!
Answer: I warned everyone about what a piece of crap pinterest is and now their true colors are showing. #PinterestSucks
Answer: I was sent a message on May 29th alerting me of my suspension, with no explanation, only that they would be sending an email explaining why. I sent an email to their help desk explaining I was a long time member with thousands of posts, none of which I considered to be against their policy. They acknowledged my email and said I'd get a reply shortly. I have not heard back nor do I expect to. This is not the first time this has happened and I have learned my lesson. They have no regard for their members and their customer service is nonexistent. Never again!
Pinterest has a rating of 2.1 stars from 474 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Pinterest most frequently mention customer service, multiple times and email address. Pinterest ranks 456th among Social Network sites.
