I cannot recommend Planet Express highly enough. I have been using this shipping service for a few years now and they have been reliable, trustworthy, fast and cost effective. I use them to ship consolidated packages for me purchased in the USA. When I have needed customer service assistance they have been extremely helpful and sorted out the issues identified. I'm sad that they no longer use DHL Express for international deliveries because at my end of things I find DHL has vastly superior customer service than other courier services. Keep up the good work!
I paid for insurance for an item sent on 22 Sep 2023. Planet express will only open a claim after 30 working days. I opened a claim on 8 November and they have ignored most my except except this one which I received on 15 Jan 2024: "Hello, The claim opened on package BI is currently still pending. Unfortunately this courier has slow processing times and takes time before concluding their investigation and providing compensation. We will send a communication for the status of this claim. Will respond back to you as soon as more information is provided. " I am happy to share and forward all correspondence but I have not received an item shipped over 4 months ago, paid insurance and they couldn't care less.
Didn't ship my package and instead sent it to their own warehouse. They do not pick up their phone or reply to voicemail. Scammers owe me $300.
Best sending service to India... very good prices when your compare it to other competitors, use again for sure!

WORST COMPANY EVER, DO NOT USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
I love the idea of planetexpress, and the name. I was happy to use them, but over the past 6 months, well let's see:
They've lost DOZENS of letters. When I am expecting something, I need to e-mail them to look for stuff EVERY SINGLE TIME, at which point the exchange goes:
"Hi, I'm expecting mail" "What type of mail?" "Why does it matter? It's mail, addressed to me" "Oh, we found your mail that got delivered 2 weeks ago and we never bothered to tell you about"
Again, that's if they find it. Most of the time they don't.
They sent 2 packages to the WRONG ADDRESS, which got lost, and I've been trying to get them to help with a USPS claim for 2 months.
I'm currently waiting for them to stick a handful of letters into a larger envelope (for which they charge $30), and have been waiting well over a week and their only response is "Thanks for understanding"
And today, they sent me this utter nonsense: "The packages shipped via USPS or Planet Mail from the Oregon warehouse need to be transported to the California warehouse first then go to the USPS sorting center in LAX airport. It usually takes about 10-14 days for the USPS tracking number to be assigned"
So basically, "Our website says 3-5 day normal shipping, but it's actually 2-3 weeks, minimum"

-SUMMARY: No accountability for the mistake they made, which caused me to lose my inventory and shipping freight money, all went down the drain. SHIPPERS BEWARE, do Not trust anything they said, even if they told you a product can be shipped, and turns out it's not the case, and your package got detained in customs, they will not take any responsibility for the misinformation. They will Not compensate you for the lost inventory Nor shipping money.
- DETAILS:
1) I've asked Planet Express specifically whether a product (beauty / oral care) can be shipped to Mexico before I shipped it, I even sent them a link on amazon, their staff said yes, so I sent it to them, supposed to arrive in Mexico within a week.
2) 2 weeks after, package not delivered, they said because of the delay in custom and asked me to wait.
3) 3 weeks after I sent out the package, I asked them again, they said that the package cannot go thru, because Mexico customs need a health license for the product, and now they cannot have the package returned to me, as Fedex has already informed the sender (Planet Express) 2 weeks ago about this, now it's passed the deadline of requesting the package to be returned to me. The package must be abandoned.
4) I've requested Planet Express to pay me back my inventory cost and shipping cost, they refused to do it. So I lost all my inventory money and the shipping money I've paid them, which is more than 200 USD.
- CONCLUSION: Planet Express is a company that will Not take any responsibility for the mistakes they've made. The mistake they've made could cost you to Lose your package and the shipping freight money you paid them. They don't care whether your shipment will arrive or not. If the package doesn't arrive safely, that's your problem, not theirs, they know you won't take this to a small claim court if the money you lost is just a couple hundred dollars. This is way too short sighted as a company. They made a mistake and you paid for the full price of their mistake. Based on my experience above, I Do Not trust this company. Zero Star.

I moved to Tokyo this year only to find that many of my favorite online services only/mostly ship domestically. This includes Amazon, outpost.com, etc.
Creating a "proxy" for your address in the United States and having it shipped overseas is relatively easy with Planet Express. The System is responsive although a bit tricky at times to understand. For instance, pricing on auto-generating customs forms happens "per item" instead of "per shipped package". Note that you can easily take this step yourself through the web interface... Just a word to the wise.
In addition, some items may be tricky to ship correctly and PlanetExpress may or may not know what is inside the box. Domestic Shipping may be much more forgiving than international shipping so it's wise to pay attention to your options such as "adding bubble wrap" when necessary. In my case, I shipped pasta shells that were hard to find over here but some arrived broken.
For the most part, having this service takes the worry away from the problems created by these other companies not facilitating international shipping. The service is friendly and they are very forgiving if you make a mistake. For example, the shipping on the broken pasta was refunded... as was my first mistake with customs. It's a "brave new world" using a proxy service, but Planet Express does a really good job helping newbies come up to speed and they understand when you make mistakes... thus the title of this review.
I wholly recommend them- they are lifesavers as you may soon find out being an expatriate in a strange land where many of the goods and services you are used to are not available.
