I used to like planet fitness until I seen that they take out more fees than expected. Upon addressing the issue, I was told that if I didn't like it then to call corporate office. I said sure what's the number? Then another person got on the phone and told me that they didn't have the number, if I wanted the number I would have to Google it. Long story short I am on my way to go cancel my membership right now. And I have to go "in person" to do that. This is a very faulty system and I regret ever buying a membership. They have taken hundreds of dollars out of my account this year. What a scam!

I went to Planet Fitness to cancel my membership. I asked the gentleman several times to make sure I would not get charged for the upcoming month, he assured me that I would not get charged for any upcoming months. I even asked him about the ridiculous information that he made me sign for and he said oh that's nothing. And yet Planet Fitness still charged me for this month causing me to overdraft because I did not budget for them taking out the money they said they would not take out. I am still waiting for this issue to be resolved.

I canceled my membership in March, 2021. I just found out they charged me a new membership fee without my consent in August, 2021 along with charging me monthly dues each month since August, 2021 so they charged me a new membership and monthly fee in August along with $21.99 each month after. They claim I was on a freeze. If thats the case, why did they charge me for a new membership in 8/21? Be careful! They don't accept credit cards, only auto payment from your bank account which is a red flag. They refuse to refund my money. I now need to close my bank account because I don't trust that they will stop deducting monthly payments. Unfair business practice as you need to cancel in person. I checked the internet and it says that Planet Fitness does not accept cancelations over the phone or email. Very difficult to go in person during pandemic! I now need to drive 30 miles to ensure my account is canceled this time. Unethical company!

I pay my membership via automatic bank transfer. After avoiding public gyms for two years due to the COVID pandemic, I finally went to PF on January 22 in Neenah, WI. I was kicked out for lack of payment. Pulled up my bank account on Monday and by golly, yes PF payment was documented monthly up to Jan 17. Tried reaching the Neenah PF manager Kirsten several times this week. Left several messages, with no response fron anyone. Tried to submit my concern on line but once I completed the form, there was no option to submit. Don't make the costly mistake of joining PF. I have just paid $10 per month x 24 months plus the annual renewal fee of $40, for the pleasure of being treated like a criminal. Karen Hansen

BEWARE of the fine print!

So there ads sound amazing, right! Only $10/month BUT if you have to cancel, OMG... you have to either go in person, which I am unable to do at the present, OR send in a certified letter! You gotta be kidding me right? I spoke to the club, and when he said that, I told him I was unable to come in, and he said the only other way was to send a certified letter... That was it, couldn't do it over the phone or online... BEWARE, if they were a stand up gym they would not have this ludicrous rule!

Do not do it...save your money, and frustration. DO NOT give up your banking info. They will steal your money, and the run around to try and get it back is ridiculous. They will charge you after you cancel, and that money is gone too. Trust the reviews...I didn't.

The planet fitness in Lebanon PA has the worst costumer service. I was paying for a bottle and accidentally drop my card they didn't want it to give it back until I have them my drivers license which I didn't have it on me at the time. They have my picture my information and my card on file but still didn't want it to give it back they gave me a nasty attitude also they were laughing at me. Worst place ever won't be coming here any more. I don't recommend this place to anyone and I'm giving one star because I couldn't choose none. They should train their employees more efficiently so they can have better costumer service since they have that job because of the us the people that go to their location.

I love working out and I still go to this gym all the time but there workers are so rude and ignorant and always look like they try to not let you go to the tanning bed or are just rude in some way. There is one worker that is especially rude and her name is aleice I think (not sure)

They would charge me even when I was on pause! After arguing with them every month when I seen my bank statement I canceled the service. Low and behold I got my bank statement for December and they charged me again. All I got was lip service from the staff. They also said they sent me a email stating that my account was being continued because my pause was up. I never received a email. I told the girl I would bring my phone up and she can see for herself. Bottom line is I canceled my service in November l. Buyer beware!

Cancelling Issues
September 16, 2019

They make it very difficult to cancel. I didn't use the Gym as much as I wanted to and months for paying and not even going, when I try to cancel, they said the charges for this month was just sent to the bank and there is nothing we can do about it, plus, before we can cancel it for you, you need to pay us the $40 you owe us. I was not aware at all I owed them 40$... I said, no I am not paying ANYMORE money... they said they cannot cancel then and will continue to charge me. WTF? I am done with this place. They need some decency and work with people. Don't just rape their accounts...
