Alley was exceptional so very friendly and helpful. Was an absolute pleasure. Great at offering other items as well... smile was so sweet
I came into your store to sell clothing. I saw you had purses 70%off. I grabbed two from the second each where it has 70%off. I was told those were not on sale they were the ones by the front door. Your cashier Bella was rude nasty and unprofessional! False advertisement! I will never come back here and I will be telling everyone I know family, friends about this and they will never come here again! Unbelievable! Fix your false advertisement! I will most definitely refer my fam and friends to encore!
I just had the worst experience at platos that I have ever had. The platos in Lee's summit workers were so unbelievably rude and guess what so is the owner. Pretty much ignored me and made me come in multiple times thinking she fixed something when she didn't. She was so rude and disrespectful. Never shopping at another platos ever again.
My husband has lost a bunch of weight, so I brought in a whole laundry basket full of clothing -- mostly his. They bought about 10 pieces, saying most of it was "not trendy". We're talking about men's Columbia and LL Bean cargo shorts and Dockers polos in popular sizes. We're talking about my worn-twice Nike sneakers and a simple black denim jacket that didn't fit well. Whereas they did buy a college-logo sweatshirt that was at least 15 years old. I brought in a neat-as-a-pin basket full of freshly washed items, and they returned it higgelty-piggelty in a huge mess. Wasn't worth the effort.
When we first arrived to the store, we were greeted with a huddle of females side eyeing everyone who came in. We came to sell some clothes, all brand new just too small for me. Most of the clothes came from that location. When we went to pick our clothes they told me that they we all stained and not able to take them. When we told them that the clothes were new and couldn't possibly be stained, they were in shock. They only looked at the top 3 shirts that were wrinkled, but not stained. Everything in this bag was folded when we brought it so you could tell what they looked at. When asked about it again they gave horrible attitude and said that "that's just how it it". I would recommend going to this location at all! They are lazy and only take what "they would wear".
Came there to sell clothes and handbags. I brought in 2 containers of really nice/party dresses for juniors/young adults and some cute handbags. None of the employees were friendly, didn't tell me how long will it take, took 2.5 hours just to wait for them to sort the items. They all workes slow, not efficient and kept walking aroung the store, eating, drinking, taking a break, while a lot of the customers had to wait hours for their clothings to get sorted. They only chose 3 items from my 30 items I brought. Didn't say why they didn't pick the others. Got less than $10 for 2.5 hours waiting. The store smelled, and all my clothing items came back with that musty smell. Horrible!
Will not come back there. Not worth at all. Would rather donate my items somewhere next time, than selling here.

I went to the Wilkes Barre location, in PA.
I was told I can just walk in whenever I have items. Well I brought some things ( alot actually) and they took more than I expected and gave me reasonable money for clothes I would never wear again ( most new with tags) I had a VERY friendly girl and most of the staff was so kind.
I do however, have alot of women's clothing ( was not aware it was more for juniors styles).
They told me to take it to Style Encore, and I would probably be able to get more money from them, since they specialize in Luxury and women's, more so than juniors.
THey were VERY nice and very reasonable with prices. I would have had to wait a month or even longer at a consignment place( that gives checks)
I will be going to style encore to see how it is, and will leave a review for them shortly! :)
This was my first time going to plato closet.and it was my first time selling my clothes there. The people in the front desk were so sweet, kind, and professional. They do explain to you about the rules and they will text you once they finshed reviewing you're clothes. I had a wonderful experience with them and I was satisfied with the price that they gave me.I appreciate that there were no complications and everything went smoothly. So thank you! Also keep in mind you got to be there in the morning. They only accept 30 people each day.so don't be late!
I left my clothes at Plato's Closet on ******* Katy Frwy., Houston, Tx. For them to look at since it was going to be over one hour wait. They sent me a text after they went through my clothes to return to the store. I went to the store and they told me that they could not buy any of them because they are not in good condition or they are too old. It ticked me off and I said my clothes are in good condition, I take good care of them. I said the dresses that I brought in, I see women wearing them all the time. One of the other employees said, we just do not have the space for them right now. He probably said that, since I was making an issue. After I brought them home, I went through them and they just stuffed them back in the bags after I had taken them there, all folded nice and neat. They were all wrinkled. I was furious. I wanted to call and chew them out because I was thinking about taking them to a consignment store. I will never go there again.
Wrote an email to the owner explaining the situation and unprofessional way her manager manager Blanca handled things. This was for Manassas but the owner owns Fairfax as well. Owner called back and despite me saying I was trying to work and didn't have time to talk went on to undermine everything I wrote to tell me how great her manager was. Call ended with Ms. Serbo yelling at me to "never come back to her store". Call was recorded. I have been a long term shopper/Donator since 2006 and will never go back to this unprofessional business. Owner wrote back on my manassas review saying "there was a reason I was banned" yet no specific reason has been given. I let 3 separate friends listen to both recordings and all agree that the owner clearly needs mental help. Hopefully the owner, Ms. Serbo gets the help she clearly needs. Not recommended at all
I sell sometimes at the Orland place. And what a difference in organization and nice employees. ( mason) Also, the new manager, Aisha is the sweetest. She took care of my item items right away.
Told me to have a good day, didn't give me my clothes. Give me my bin of clothes and I see about 5 more of my items, laying in someone else's bin. I asked for them and she gave them back. And I said is this stuff y'all didn't want and she said yes as in they did not want them. Obviously you did because you weren't about to give them back to me or pay me for them. Will not be back.
I did my research and followed the guidelines for the items that they wanted. I took in 4 big bags of Torrid, Rue 21, Hot Topic, Levi's, etc. All the items were in good condition except for 2 shirts that had a slight stain on the bust area. While they were looking at my items I looked around and thought that I had a good chance of selling most of my items because my items were in far better shape than the ones I saw on the racks. To my surprise the only bought 5 items. The 2 stained shirts, a pair of converse, and the 2 cheapest pair of pants I brought in. I DON'T understand their buying process. Why do you advertise that you want expensive brands and then not buy them. It couldn't be because I'm plus sized because they had plus sized items. I asked why they didn't buy more and they said condition. Whatever you bought STAINED SHIRTS!
Waited 30 mins for them to tell me my $#*!ies, LRG and South Pole Clothing that was brand new is out of style. They still sell $#*!ies in walmart and southpole at kohls, And the LRG hoodie was over 100$ a year ago brand new with matching hat worth 60$. Mean while there is multiple pairs of dirty flip flops and shoes for sell in the store. Will never return to this store. Gross.
Tip for consumers:

None... Wasted gas money...
Apparently they only want small sizes, I brought in a tub, abox, and a bag of plus size clothing all barely worn, jean size 16&18, tops, bodysuits, jumpsuits ect ranging from xl to xxl all the clothing is from American Eagle. They barely accepted any of it. All they took were my shoes a few pants and tops. None of the styles are "out dated" how are any jean ever "out of style" they are just blue jeans but as I walked the store they had next to NOTHING in their xl to xxl or any plus size jea...
So disgusted
Management at this location is terrible, unprofessional, never will shop here again. I suggest everyone else not to either. Don't support this establishment

The women who worked at the Plato's closet location I went to were very rude and honestly that's just hella messed up. Girl ain't nobody got time for your damn attitude and like humble yourself.
I had 2 bags. They kept a leather/fur bomber, ankle boots with the silver strip on the back from Macy's, MK shoes from Macy's and 1 pair of Levi's from Levi Outlet. Gave me $21. They are going to sale that leather/fur bomber for more than that little $21 and all of the other things I literally "gave" them. I could have taken my stuff to the goodwill, instead. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CLOSE TO PLATO'S CLOSET!, they will rob you.
My recent selling experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I brought in some pieces and 75% were the items that they were searching for, for the season. Everything was clean, and hardly worn. The girl who took care of me told me that they were only accepting one item because the rest had signs of too much wear. First of all, half of the items came from that EXACT Plato's Closet only weeks before and i'd only worn them a few times. They told me that some items were damaged, and made a big deal about "zipper waves" but I saw clothes in worse condition on the shelves. Really? They ended up taking just two basic items. Get this, I had a friend come in a few days later with the same exact items, and nearly accepted EVERYTHING i'd brought in with no questions asked. I have no ideas what the basis for this type of behavior is for, but it doesn't settle well. How are you going to deny one individual and accept another? Is it because I'm black and my friend is white? Whatever the case, it's really concerning. And it's sad, cause I do like to shop at Plato's but now, I don't know. Come on, treat ALL of your customers well.
I went in to see if they would buy some of the clothing I didn't need anymore. They said come back in a hour so I did they than told me they couldn't sell any but while I was standing in front of the customer service I notice several pieces of my clothing in their containers I address them and they wouldn't even let me see the items so I told them I would report them to the BBB. Then I got their attention and may clothes back of course they said they made a mistake and they would pay me. I said no due to I believe they knew exactly what they were doing. I advise everyone not to shop or sale to them because it's just my feeling they're taking advantage of customers.
AS A CEO of companies in Texas I don't think this store should be up and running. They have none brand shoes for $200 but when I sell my NAME BRAND SHOES they can only buy for $40 I paid $300 for these shoes and they said $40? THIS $#*! IS PITIFUL AND I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I GET THIS PLACE SHUT DOWN! THIS IS A BAD BAD PLACE! They have to do better these shoes are not worth $200 scammers! Don't shop here or sell
For what they sell in thier store it baffles me that they wouldnt take new or gently owned styles. I'm pretty sure most clothes that come through there are not high brand!
I WAS THERE TODAY AT ANN ARBOR LOCATION!
THEY ARE RUDE UNEDUCATED AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I BROUGHT 3 BIG BAGS OF CLOTHING, MORE THAN HALF OF THE CLOTHING WAS DESIGNERS NAME LIKE "ARMANI EXCHANGE " HUGO BOSS ". AFTER 1HOUR WAIT THEY GAVE ME BACK ALMOST EVERYTHING! WHEN I ASK WHATS WRONG WITH THAT, THEIR RESPONSE WERE " WE ONLY BUY SPECIAL TYPE OF CLOTHING AND MY CLOTHING NOT GOOD ENOUGH APPARENTLY FOR THEIR GARBAGE STORE"! LOL NOT TO MENTION THAT ALL 4 GIRLS WERE LOOKING AT ME LIKE ALL THIS CLOTHING WERE STOLLEN! SHAME ON YOU! AT THE SAME TIME THEY WERE NICE TO OTHER PEOPLE! DISCRIMINATION!
I will NEVER GO TO SELL CLOTHES AGAIN. Just horrible. They rush don't take their time and don't give you anything for your clothes you might as well to go goodwill and give your clothes for free for what they give you. If it's not what they like they won't take. Waste of time. 90% less than what an actually price should be. Dress worth $50 you'll get $1 back. None of them are helpful at all unless you've just bought the clothes new and all price tag you will only get $1 for each only if they like it you can take a full bin and only get $10. You best bet is poshmark or other stores that will actually give you what your clothes are worth. NEVER SELL YOUR CLOTHES HERE WASTE OF TIME if they don't care for you stuff the only give you $1 credit cause that all it was worth to them. They take ID just to say they saw it, everything in the computer was wrong of my information. Or misplaced to someone else's name
I received a text from platos closet that they needed denim that day. So i rushed home from work, gathered up my denim jeans, might i add that were pretty much new because after I purchased them i gained alot of weight and could not wear them but a couple of times. I got there and checked in and the girl told me I would get a text when they were finished. I got the text and went back up front where the girl brought my basket still full and said they only took a couple of items and this is what they didn't want because of ware and tare. They gave me 19.42 for the items they did take. I wpuld have done better selling with the online gararge sale.
I go to plato's all the time and there is one person who works at the east lansing one named Lily V, she was amazing and helped me and my gf a ton the last two times we've been there.
TERRIBLE customer service, rude, and judgmental girls. Don't take your clothes there either, I waited 2.5 hours to get my clothe I dropped off to sell, back.
