Spent $500 in 5 weeks on game content and a few days ago everything was deleted and the game started over. Neither Google Play nor EA SPORTS will refund my money. Complete rip offs.

I made a free trial on a google product and then cancelled before it was over, but they went ahead and deducted funds, I requested a refund from them and it was granted but I had to wait for 2 months claiming that my payment method was blocked which is actually not true, like how is it difficult to refund a to a card when you actually deducted from it? Anyways I got 2 other cards and the refund was not procced on any,. On the forth card they claimed they proccesed the refund (which I never got a receipt of) but the transaction they claimed to have refunded on my cards history it shows that the transaction was not a deposit but another deduction trial which was declined since I had insufficient funds. They told me to contact the card issuer about it which I did and the card issuer looked at it and requested that if the refund was really made then google should provide a receipt or a screenshot of the successful refund on their end, I asked google for the prof and they never gave it. At last they said they can't assist me further with the case.
In short, this was my honest experience with them, they stole my money!
Be warned don't even try to purchase from them or adding your payment method to their site,
They will deduct money from your account you will not get your refund back, they will keep taking you in circles. Its just that its not possible to upload screenshots here I could have shown you all of it.
Please don't! Don't dare! Mine is gone you better keep yours!

One of the reasons Google is so awful. Allows scam games, they don't verify the validity for out right lying

Google should have to pay everyone the earning that was NEVER paid out

First of all, HBOMax sucks. For over a month, shows will just start buffering and then stop working. You can't delete the app to reinstall bc it comes default with the Samsung TV I bought, so they won't let you remove. So, I decided to try and cancel.
Oh boy. I realize the HBO subscription doesn't come up anywhere on my subscriptions in Google.
Youtube TV is there, but no HBO. So, I call HBO first. HBOMax says, "not our problem - we manage subscriptions through google play. But we can confirm your account is through Google Play"
Then, Google Play customer support says - "We can't find your account, so we can't help you." Well, that's helpful :/ That's the reason I'm calling, why am I getting charged every month if I don't have an account.

So, I'm stuck paying for a service that doesn't work because HBOMax won't let me cancel, and Google Play says there's no evidence of an account - but BILLS me, and I get emails from them all the time.

I'll end up telling my bank to block charges, and then Google probably send me to collections. Feels so corrupt.

I too got scammed by someone regarding the Google Play cards. Someone pretended he was my boss and asked me to go and get $500 in google play cards. The scammer quickly downloaded the cards. Google Play is not secure, they know the issues and do not help at all. They quickly point out they have a clause regarding fraud and the customer is the one on the hook - they will not refund nor block the cards and say they have no way to track which person's google play account downloaded the cards (that information would be helpful for the RCMP). These are extremely unsecure cards - they do not value the people and are not protecting any of us. They simply need to add a feature to track down which account downloaded it so that in the future, when this happens again, and it will - they can take the funds back from said account of the scammer. I am now out $500 and it feels just horrible to be scammed. I will never purchase the unsecure cards in the future and feel horrible for the next victims related to google play.

I had subscribed to a yearly subscription to the Clue Period & Cycle Tracker app on Google Play back in October of 2021. In July of 2022, I decided I no longer wanted this subscription or the App, so I went into the Clue App and deleted my account. I was not aware that you also had to cancel your subscription through Google Play. So, at the beginning of October of 2022, I was charged for my yearly subscription. Within 30 minutes of receiving the confirmation email that I subscribed for another year, I went into Google Play, cancelled the subscription and then requested a refund. After three weeks of fighting with Google Support, as well as the developers of the Clue App, they are refusing to refund me the measly low cost of $34. The most frustrating part of all of this is that one party is blaming the other and both are refusing me a refund. Google Play states that the developer should provide support and refunds for their products, but the Clue App developer states that all subscriptions are handled by Google and they issue refunds. I cannot believe that I wasted 3 weeks of my time providing detailed information to both parties only to find out that they are not refunding me. Here's the best part, even if I wanted to use this subscription that I just paid for, I can't because the Clue App does not have any record of my account at all (probably because I deleted it months ago!). I could not believe how this situation was handled. DON'T SUBSCRIBE TO ANYTHING ON GOOGLE PLAY AND DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THE CLUE PERIOD & CYCLE TRACKER APP. YOU WILL BE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND LOSE YOUR MONEY!

Tip for consumers:
If you subscribe to any applications through Google Play, you MUST CANCEL BOTH YOUR SUBSCRIPTION THROUGH GOOGLE PLAY, AS WELL AS THE APPLICATION THAT YOU SUBSCRIBED TO! YOU WILL GET CHARGED AGAIN IF YOU DON'T!

Google Play on my girlfriend's laptop, which I credited her account with a gift card several weeks ago, took over $5.00 for a Christmas movie which it had in its listing of limited movies available and then just as the download finished and we tried to play the movie a notification message saying "This video's rental period has expired." Let me start by saying that I can't even find an answer through its many helps pages and tech support, they seem to make it extremely inaccessible to find a solution and furthermore it just takes away your energy trying to solve this issue. I've come to terms that I lost 5 bucks but I can't imagine also, how much richer they are getting, how much luxury they have built, by taking peoples money and not giving them adequate service and products. I find that reviewing sites like these are very helpful, if not to bring down and eliminate such companies from existing or at the very least helping to inform others to avoid making the same costly mistakes. In the end of all things, losing $5 dollars is not going to make or break anyone in this world regardless how rich or poor you are, but stealing $5 dollars here and there equaling to thousands and maybe even millions of unsuspecting victims. There isn't a class action lawsuit against this. And these huge companies like google feel unobliged, absolved from any real serious responsibility to rectify or to refund the resources back to those who lost. Theft is theft, doesn't matter how petty-theft can be, but when you steal from a multitude of people 1 at a time, it accumulates to a huge crime against a society which composes the humanity. It is unfair and further unfair that there seems to be no repercusión paid by the aggressor, the corporate aggressor which is Google Play.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t try to rent movies off of this Google Play App, or the Google Play App Store. They take money from your google credits account and don’t allow you to watch the movie, no refund provided, and no technical support for it.

I am livid with Google Play!

I moved overseas a while ago and changed my account residence to the appropriate country so I could use a Google Play Gift Card in the app store. After trying to enter the code to redeem it, I was told there was a problem with the processing because the card I bought could only be used in the country it was bought, which is where I'm currently residing in. Well no duh! I live here now and changed the residence on the account just like it told me to and I was still hit with an error.

I contacted their customer service, which only works through chat and email... absolutely ridiculous. And they said they'd send in a request if I could provide the receipt. I found it, sent in the photos and had no response for a few days. I chatted back in with another agent who said they'd send in a request, but that it should only take about 48 hours. Well 10 DAYS LATER, I still had no response from them. I chat back in completely livid and am told that this time they will escalate the case for me. Big whoop! They said they'll get back to be within 48 hours when their specialty team takes a look. What else am I supposed to do, but accept my fate to have to wait again >:(

They finally get back to me and tell me it's my fault because the card can only be used in the country it was bought (which is where I freaking live), I'm too young (I'm literally almost 30), or the place I bought it from is not authorized (a 7/11 Convenience Store isn't authorized?). So I'm on here pissed that after making me wait 2 weeks, they basically flushed my gift card down the drain. It sucks that I have to use this store with any phone but Apple, so I'll just have to cave and get an iPhone so I don't have to deal with this BS again. ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE!

DON'T USE IT! Not for money purchases at least

Exactly the kind of lousy, exploitative, indifferent service you'd expect from a giant corporation that's too big to care. Had a gift card balance that I tried to apply toward the majority of a purchase (the only reason I was shopping with them in the first place); instead, Google charged the entire purchase to my credit card. Chatted them three different times to attempt to resolve the issue.

An earlier rep told me I'd be receiving a refund for the difference; this was later contradicted by another rep. They repeatedly told me I'd be receiving a copy of the chat threads in my gmail (never happened), and that a supervisor would be emailing me (never happened). I'm so frustrated at this point, I could friggin' scream. Google, I sincerely hope that you get broken up by the Department of Justice.

Update: after I repeatedly bugged them many times via email over many days, they finally emailed me the chat threads -- which included the following exchange:

The amount deducted to your card is $10 and since it was showing $13.99 the $10 will credit back on your account.

Onto my credit card account, you mean?

Yes."... and yet they're still refusing to refund my money. In their most recent message, one of the wealthiest and largest tech companies on the planet claimed, "We currently do not possess a tool that would allow us to provide a partial refund back to your credit or debit card that was charged."

Genuinely spectacular BS from a spectacularly terrible company that provides spectacularly terrible service and so desperately needs to be held accountable. Eat s**t, Gargle!
