“Positive review from me”

Bindi J.
12/17/23

I'm not sure if I just fluked it, but this site saved me from all those others! I joined PS in Sept 2022 after a brief time on Tinder and being too afraid of telling potential partners about HSV. I had a few messages straight away but one that I particularly liked. We cut the usual never ending messaging short, spoke on the phone easily for over an hour and organised a date the following week. We hit it off instantly. He proposed on our 1 year anniversary! So for me, this site was great otherwise we would never have met!

Yes, you may have a sti, but this site isn't the answer. It's full of abandoned profiles and it's a complete waste. I was on it 5 years. Trust me, I know. I once sent out over 20 messages and didn't get back one reply. I did meet three people in 5 years from it, but they were just hard up for safe sex. It was distasteful to say the least. I will never go on there again.

I received very few emails in comparison to other sites. The ones that did respond, were not actually quality people looking for a relationship. They were only interested in pictures and sex.

This site is better than some similar sites in the market. We have chances to know positive singles on this app everyday and we nearly find a partner for something special.

I am not happy that my account was deleted for no reason today so I want to expose this company for what they are, are scam! I have been a member of this site for 12 years and can tell you that 80% of all new profiles are fake. When I logged into this website daily I flagged a minimum of 25 fake profiles in less than 10 minutes. I previously owned a STD dating website so I can spot a fake dating profile a mile away. This website created tens of thousands of fake profiles when it launched the site so users would pay to contact fake profiles.

I was an affiliate of this company for years until today when my dating account was deleted. Now instead of promoting them I am going to publish thousands of these truthful reviews warning others and exposing this scam for what it is.

This site is not based in Silicon Valley, that is nothing but a mailing address. The owner of this company is a Chinese national and all employees are in China. How do I know this? Because I tracked them working on my positivesingles affiliate dating website and performing customer service. I saw they were from CHina by analyzing the website tracking scripts I have installed on the website.

This company has been a fraud since it launched it tens of thousands of fake profiles and it is a fraud now. If you want your personal information in the hands of the Chinese government then by all means join this website.

Tip for consumers:
Never pay because like others have said they will delete your account and keep your money and not refund it.

There arent many people in my area. And some that are dont look to have logged in awhile. You can't do much of anything without a gold membership. You can't even talk in the live chatroom. Which the chatroom needs improvement as far as how it functions on a phone (very buggy). The blogs aren't very active unless you count the bloggers who have blogged for years (employees admins). The monthly price for a upgraded privileges is not worth it for me. I may have considered but not with so few people in my area. Even if there was many I still think the price is preying on this affliction. Its kind of sick to be honest.

I've noticed that a lot of people will message me once and then never hear from them again. There are about five women that are active on a regular basis from my location in TX and it is insane how many people will not reply or anything on this site. I definitely wasted my money for a three month subscription. I can tell there are ALOT of fake profiles by the way they are worded. It looks like a robot has went in and scripted multiple paragraphs together. The site functionality is incredibly poor and constantly has to reload or glitches out when you are typing. Also it seems to be only really really beautiful older women on there and most seem way to good to be true. I'm honestly st the point to where I'll talk to someone and can't tell if they are cat fishing me or are even human or a robot. I thought POF was bad but this has got to be even worse. The only good thing I can say is that I have met two women in the past two months who I believe are truly real and the conversations have been great. Let's face it though, only reason people use this site is to find someone to have sex with without worrying about "having the talk"

I'm a real person, using the free version of the app. Had been sparsely messaging a user when he asked to continue our messaging on snap chat, to which I told him I barely use. Fast forward two days later when user deleted me as a friend on snap, so I messaged him on PS. He was angry as how long it took me to respond and claimed that's why he had removed me. No big deal. We continue chatting then he sent me the most foul, rude and unnecessary message calling me names and being downright ugly to me for no reason other than he was angry? And then reported me. I tried contacting PS support to report him, instead I was suspended. I wrote to PS customer support to which I received:

" We have checked some unusual details in your account and detected you as a
Scammer. We strictly prohibited scammers from our website/App.

Best regards,

Bond"

I'm a real person, not scamming anyone. What the actual **** is going on? I don't get it, it's hurtful to encourage and defend abusive users and throw away actual people who are looking to meet people. I'm blown away by this. Tried calling customer support, no answer. Tried again, someone picked up then wouldn't say anything. I'm speechless treatment of women like this is applauded and supported. Shame on you PS. Horrendous treatment, ladies stay away. This site is dangerous and run by someone who is morally bankrupt and has no conscience.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t bother. Dangerous site run by predators who support verbal abuse.

I dont trust this website one bit.
Recently, I tried to open an account with PositiveSingles. The next day my account was suspended for "suspicious activity." So, I contacted them to ask what my suspicious activity was, and this is the reply I got.

We are sorry for the inconvenience. Our system detected some unusual details on your account. To activate your account, please get your profile get verified on our site. Method 1: Upload a readable copy of your clear ID (Driver's License, State ID card, Military ID or Passport, NO PERSONAL PHOTOS)

Why does an HIV dating site want to have my personal ID in its records? That makes no sense at all. Why would I have to reveal who I am and my condition to complete strangers?
It is really unusual that they are asking for such information.
The whole idea of a website should be to provide members anonymity - as oppose to your request to reveal my information.

And, here's a report about the website, saying it was fined for sharing people's confidential information, instead of "keeping them confidential."
http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-*******

They sound like scam artists to me.

Positive Singles is the biggest dating site scam I have ever seeing. I wish some one would investigate. The adm sends you empty winks from people who left the site years ago. I replied to a few of them to see what happened. They were never read. I even received winks from people who thanked me for viweing their profiles when in fact, I had never viwed their profiles. WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS NOT LEGAL FOR THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO ABIDE BY THE LEGALITY BEHIND ONLINE BUSINESSES.

Someone hacked my account on ps. And it was a whole big thing. They deleted my account because I wouldn't date them. They got caught etc. etc.
Well, the person that was hacking me was literally blocking me from talking to potential matches and being able to be on a blog without somebody having a set up a trap to disrespect me. So if I was chatting with people that was nice and kind, I wasn't allowed to chat with those people. I was only specifically allowed to talk to people who would disrespect me then when the problem became bigger and I contacted PS customer service about my account instead of helping me with my account they deleted my whole account And they blocked me from further making a new account. I never met anybody on there. I don't plan on meeting anybody on there. It was just a little app. I downloaded on my phone and I really started to like it because it was almost like Facebook and now I'm locked out of there so even when I go and sign up with a different email address, it directs me to already account suspended and I'm forced to upload photos of my license of myself, etc. etc. That is not safe for anybody having my photo or my name my address or my license number through the Internet. I was typing anything because I knew what was going to happen. It's like I'm blacklisted with ps because my account is suspended before I can even finish creating the profile and changing emails doesn't make a difference when it should. Now I contacted ps to help with my account and instead of receiving help and protecting my information I was punished even further. You just helped the hacker you (profanity)

Tip for consumers:
You have a choice to use the free service or you can sign up for the membership which is way too expensive because it’s like Facebook that you have to pay for and it doesn’t even have all the features that Facebook does have so there’s no point in actually purchasing so I never purchased a membership

The so-called "2 318 900+ members registered on the site" isn't exactly truthful -- it's outright misleading.

The majority of the members are either inactive and/or fake users without a profile picture. Most people discover earlier on how poor the Positive Singles experience is & then leave to never return. If PS was fair, they'd boot people off of the site after having been inactive for more than six months. But that would interfere with their ability to market the site and bolster their user count.

In your first two to three pages of search results you'll find people who were recently active to last logged in more than a week ago. You'll have one to two pages of people who were last logged in two weeks to more than a month ago. And then you'll have over ten+ pages of users who don't have a picture assigned to their profiles (and usually last logged in more than a month ago). These profiles supply the bulk of the over 2 million+ users PS likes to brag about having on their site.

If you absolutely HAVE to buy a membership, please just purchase one month, you'll regret purchasing a larger membership. A one month will allow you to message every local you're interested in at least two to three times before it expires (good luck getting a reply back from someone who hasn't logged on in over a month).

Positive Singles is literally a derelict ghost town of abandoned profiles. User retention doesn't seem to be one of their strong suits. I wouldn't recommend using this site, but I would strongly advise against paying these parasites anything. They profit off of exploiting people suffering from a horrible, stigmatizing condition. Pay, and use at your own discretion.

Tip for consumers:
Don't get your hopes up

I wanted to get back into the dating world post diagnosis and thought this was the best site due to multiple recommendations through a Google search. Might be due to the fact that they have an affiliate program, ugh.

I was browsing for some days and even got a few matches. I never pay for dating sites so I was fine with waiting for a premium user to message me. The problem is after completing my profile with my personal experience, the next day it said my account was suspended. The site and their email after contacting them said due to suspicious activity.

But I literally put real photos while most people had no photos or faceless photos yet somehow I was the problem? The only thing could be not replying to messages from people I wasn't interested in. People way outside of the perimeters I set for my search like age was set to 35 max and I got people 60 years old messaging me. Of course I'm not going to reply.

Anyway the reason for the review, truly is because they asked for drivers license or passport verification in order to lift the account suspension. I found that incredibly odd for a site that was pretty much for people wanting to be anonymous. We don't even use our first name just a username and a postal code. In the email they refer to me as member so support doesn't even know my name!

So what is ID going to do exactly when nothing on my ID would verify who I am based on my profile. Besides the photo but literally everyone's government issued photo ID looks nothing like their social media picture.

So I had to do a proper customer review search and here I found other people talking about being scammed and asked for ID. Very suspicious. Wouldn't recommend.

Tip for consumers:
Read reviews to make an informed decision. Don’t expect to stay on the site for long with their random suspensions.
