Big Disappointment
June 1, 2022

I have been a customer of Pottery Barn for decades but I made a purchase in February 2022 with a delivery date of March 5 - March 19 and still have not received. We have been lied to about delivery four times now, promising another date each time. It is June and we still have not received the two stools we ordered and that we payed $299 for delivery! This would not be a problem if they were honest from the start as to when I should expect them, but to tell me they have been at LAX hub for six weeks? Out right lies. This will be my last purchase with this company.

We bought a James Leather Recliner about two years ago for about $2000. It took 6 months for us to get the chair. Within 6 months after receiving the chair, the leather on the bottom cushion rubbed against metal and developed a hole. We sent pictures to the store and they did not follow up. Now after 2 years, the leather on the arm is wearing out. This is a terrible piece of expensive furniture. We will never buy from PB again. BEWARE!

Purchase a set of flatware in December, 2022. For reasons that are unclear they shipped me half of the set and said that the remainder of the set would be available in a few weeks. Every month they give an excuse of why they don't have it and now 6 months has elapsed. They won't take back what they sold me and won't say why the delay or when I will receive. The reason that I think they are unscrupulous is that they are still selling the flatware in the store and only after you buy they reveal it is on back order. I wonder how many other suckers have been sold something that is not in stock for half a year and are trapped because they got a partial shipment. Interesting business model. I will never shop there again no matter how convenient or nice the merchandise.

I must have spent 10 hours over the span of 1.5 months calling customer service over and over again to find a replacement product, prove it wasn't delivered, multiple issues were refunded only to find out (after calling again) that they were mistakes and someone has to come get the damaged product first. I was promised 2 different times a merchandise credit and then a credit card credit to never have either come through. And no one called to update me. Last but not least the "supervisor" was arguing with me in regards to my refund being issued and hung up on me. Good luck if you are unhappy with your product it will cost you more in time and stress then the thousands you will spend

I bought a PB Comfort sectional 8 months ago and every back cushion is sagging. All of my seat cushions have broken down. I have been a long time PB customer and own 3 other couches that were purchased over 10 years ago that have held up fine. They have switched manufacturers and now the quality level has tanked. They do not stand by their products once they have your money!

I placed an order, then realized I had ordered the wrong item. Called back within 5 minutes (on a Sunday) and was told my items were already in fulfillment and I could not cancel - I could only return once the item arrives in the next week! I will never order online from Pottery Barn again

Damaged furniture
January 21, 2017

I ordered a $1,300 vanity from pbteen.com. Once it was delivered, the delivery men told us that the two major parts of the vanity were damaged. I went to their truck to look and they were right: both pieces were majorly dented. They said they signed off for them at the warehouse without even looking! Now I have to wait three more weeks for new pieces, and in the meanwhile they left the undamaged pieces (one drawer and the mirror) in my living room to sit there. Very disappointed; such bad quality from a high end furniture store.

But when you go into tracking later that day their website says preparing for shipping. Fricken liars. I will never do business with them again and will dissuade everyone I can from doing business with them too.

I called Pottery Barn twice today in an effort to order a chandelier. The first sales associate did not add my Key Rewards of $105. I questioned the amount and she assured me it was correct. I placed the same order online and the amount was more than $105 less. When I called the Pottery Barn a second time the sales associate criticized the person who helped me. I just made the comment that maybe she didn't know what she was doing. Then the person said, "well she's a manager. She knows what she's doing" and she insinuated that I was wrong. I was looking right at my computer screen. At that point I decided not to make the $1000+ purchase. I'll head to House of Lights to buy my chandelier.

Ordered three shelves. Every day I get a new delivery date, which is usually the following day. But when you check the tracking, the items are still in "preshipment" and have not been sent to the USPS. Emailing customer service gets me various excusing and promises but not the truth. I would certainly have ordered from someplace else had I know that this company had deteriorated so badly. Stay away and save your money and your frustration!

I have had a really bad experience trying to return a defective rug that never stopped shedding and pilling. I have waited on the phone numerous times for very long periods of time. I have never been credited with the return, even though they finally sent me a return label and UPS verified that they received the return. I would NEVER buy rugs or furniture from them again.

I thought for spending $1k on a dresser at PB, it would be better than an IKEA dresser - I was wrong. I bought a Rory changing table dresser. Material is cheap. And it doesn't even have gliders for the drawers! The drawers get sticky and you need two hands (one on each drawer pull) to close the drawers! Ridiculous! Now I know why they don't have customer reviews on their website for their products! Will definitely avoid any furniture products from PB (regular, teen, kids) in the future.

I will not use Pottery Barn again for the following 3 reasons:

1.5-month wait time to get a desk
2.2X the bridge of the desk was broken causing me to wait additional time
3.2X Missing my daughter's swim lessons to wait for a broken desk to be delivered

When you purchase something that includes white glove delivery service and it costs $5,500+ you expect it to be in mint condition. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Huge cracks in the bridge both times, chips, structurally not sound. Additionally, I was not offered any type of credit for the delay. I could either get my money back or wait additional weeks for probably another broken product. Furthermore, I found out they did not check the products before delivering, so they waste everyone's time including their own when it's damaged before it gets to the house.

Pottery Barn you have lost a customer and the so called amazing quality of your products is yet to be desired.

I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the Pottery Barn Social Media Customer Service Team reached out to me. They are working to resolve this issue in a very satisfactory manner. Their attention and follow-up has been great. My Rep deserves 5 stars but I only gave this review 4 because Pottery Barn needs to do more front line training to avoid customers getting to the point of posting bad reviews.

Poor Customer Service/Quality
September 10, 2017
Previous review

I have purchased many items from Pottery Barn and in the past (2015- early 2016) any issues were handled quickly and effectively. Unfortunately my latest delivery/customer service experience has been ridiculous. On 7/21/17 I had a large order delivered to my home. The delivery men were very pleasant. After they left I realized that the front corner of my sectional was sliced (probably occurred when they were cutting off the shipping wrap). I immediately called the concierge service with whom I had been working with for this order. I sent pictures/email as requested. Since that day Pottery Barn has NEVER contacted me- I have reached out to Pottery Barn 6 times since my initial report. On the 4th call I also reported that one of the back pillows on my PB comfort sectional was coming apart and again I sent photos. During my last call (8/23/17) I spoke to Michael in your Delivery "QUALITY TEAM" and he assured me that he would be in touch in a couple days. He also stated that the sectional would not simply be swapped out/replaced (as I was previously told) but repaired instead. He stated that the repair team would pick up the piece of sectional, repair it at their shop and return it at a later date. Which means no sofa to sit on and another day off from work to wait for a delivery. Today is 9/6/17 and NO ONE has contacted me- RIDICULOUS!

Bad business
January 2, 2020

I bought a beautiful couch from Potterybarn on sale and opened a Potter Barn Credit card so that I could get the rewards and cash back. I almost $500 worth of rewards and they expired within 6 months. I called the customer service and stayed on the phone for 15 minutes waiting to talk with a supervisor. She said there was nothing that she could do to help me. I will never never do business with Pottery Barn again. This is bad business. They don't care about their customers. They only want your money. Do not do business with them.

I purchased a tanner accent table in early march Of 2023. There was no hardware included for the table So it is essentially unusable. I called immediately and was told the parts would be sent within 10 days.I have since emailed customer service and called customer service 2 other times. I have received no hardware and am totally frustrated!

Can't Trust Pottery Barn to Deliver
July 26, 2022

I ordered a bathroom vanity and was given a 16 day delivery window, beginning about 2 weeks from the day I placed the order. They called at the end of that window and I scheduled the delivery for the first available date. The morning of the expected delivery, they cancelled because the item had not arrived at the delivery hub. I was told they would get back to me within 72 hours to reschedule delivery. This was unacceptable to me, as it was now a month since I ordered the vanity, so I called customer service. I had two simple questions: where is my vanity now, and when will I have it? I spoke with multiple CS reps, who spoke with multiple supervisors, and no one could give me an answer. I asked if they could guarantee that my vanity would be delivered before the weekend (this was a Tuesday) and they could not. I cancelled the order and ordered an *identical* item (I suspect it is the same manufacturer) for $500 less from another company. I won't order from Pottery Barn again.

On 10/18/23, I made a significant purchase to be delivered before Thanksgiving. After repeated delays on PB's part, I requested a split delivery, which they initially denied. I was eventually able to speak with a supervisor who promised to arrange the split delivery "ASAP" so I could have at least 2 of the items before Christmas. After another week went by and I still had not received a delivery date, I attempted to cancel the order. PB made this very difficult, initially claiming they could not cancel the order as two of the items had been delivered to the hub. After several more emails, the order was finally cancelled.

Unfortunately, at the time of purchase, I opened a Capital One Pottery Barn credit card so that I could accumulate rewards for future Pottery Barn purchases. By the time the order was canceled and PB credited my card, Capital One had charged me $97.50 in interests charges, but they will only agree to waive $50. So I am currently out of pocket $47.50 for furniture that PB was unable to deliver.

This website seems safe and provides different home decor and nick-knacks. Shipping seemed a bit much, going up as you spend more, not based on weight. Otherwise, seems square and good site to visit and pick up some trendy pillows or lamps.
