THE WORST PLACE TO FIX A DIGITAL CAMERA.

Precision Camera in El Paso TX

Website is www.precisioncamera.com

They destroyed my camera that could have been fixed.

I paid them for nothing. My camera is scratched now and still don't work. They didn't care when I called. BAD BUSINESS!

Great place for my Sony's
February 18, 2024

I am in my third decade utilizing the skill sets pf PC - I went from Nikon to Sony [3 years ago] - I have had all three a9's and lens cleaned and calibrated at this property twice a year -

They are informative and knowledgeable with character responses in a timely fashion -

From phone to mailbox, fantastic folks - BTW join Sony Pro Services for $100 - I get everything cleaned and updated twice a year -

Smiles away

Do your home work before visiting this store. I have over the years bought several cameras and lenses from Precision and traded in used equipment - always treated fairly until now. Foolishly, I trusted them while trading in my Nikon DSLR system during their event where they promised a 10% bonus. After driving from another city, I was first told by Fernando they were only interested in Canon L lenses and were not buying Nikon. They posted an ad for Oct. 7 offering to buy equipment without posting any specifics. I was being set up. The store manager, Omar saw my equipment was in excellent condition and offered me prices that were half of what I could have gotten any where else. My bad. See the price list below and then check around. Nikon and B&H offer almost twice as much. Having always purchased from Precision, I will never again. A simple $1,500 screw job cost them a customer. Comments made to them have gone unanswered. When I purchased a Z8 kit, I was told they were giving me a $200 discount - the discount is available anywhere and was not so much a favor from Precision!

Precision Camera is the worst!

They jerked me around and left my camera worse off than when they started. Don't deal with there place in El Paso Texas. There website is at www.precisioncamera.com Jokers and bad service. I read that they are fixing the cameras cheaply in Mexico which explains their location. I wasted my money and my camera is still broke. Go elsewhere for service, precision is poor.

PRECISION CAMERA SUCKS FOR WORK!

Their website gave me the price and then a month after they got my camera they tell me it's more than double and there site is just a guide and that's what it usually is for my cameras problem.

I authorized the repair and the camera repair was almost $200.

So fine, I paid it and then my camera comes back and it isn't working, my screen is cracked! They tell me that was already like that and I need to pay more if I want that fixed. That was a lie, it was never broken. If so, why wasn't it on the estimate.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM PRECISION CAMERA. THEY RIPPED ME OFF AND THERE ARE COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE WEB IN THEIR UNSCRUPULOUS PRACTICES.

I should add that their staff members who answer the phones are rude and could use sine manners. Don't use this place for anything!

Crooks!
April 5, 2015

Refused to honor my Sony NEX-3N camera's warranty with a bogus excuse. And then, refused to send my camera back to me. As simple as that! Now, go and complain to whom you like.

Precision Camera received my camera on 6/2/14. They didn't get it logged in until 6/9 - the date they claim receipt on their status page - and several days after I contacted them about it.

A week or two later (late June) they contacted me and told me I needed to pay them more money. I pointed out they had given me a "quote" and nothing in the quote nor on their website provided for changing the price. In the end, I authorized raising the price about 50% above the quote.

About a month later, I contacted them, wondering why my camera was still listed as "in repair" and what happened to their promise of fast service. They reported the part was on back-order but did offer a discount for the delay, although the price was still well above the quote.

Two months later, after they didn't respond to several queries, I told them I was going to file a complaint in 10 days with the BBB if they didn't send my camera back. I also pointed out that I easily found the part brand new on the web at two vendors and it could be delivered in a few days. On the 10th day, they returned the camera unrepaired.

So, it took Precision Camera 4 months to tell me they couldn't repair my camera. They were late logging in receipt of the camera by a week and were late responding (or unresponsive) to requests for delay explanations, even though these were a month apart. And their online "quote" is probably bait-and-switch.

They might be OK with routine repairs that almost anyone could do, but maybe not so good with others. And they are sloooooow.

Precision Camera (aka: www.precisioncamera.com) is a big waste of money for repairing a camera. They screwed me around, billed my credit card for nothing, and then sent my camera back to me broken in and even worse condition than I had sent it to them in. They are not friendly in the area of customer service and I wouldn't wish theme on my worst enemy. Their service seriously needs improvement. How can they get away with billing me and not fixing the camera. The location I had sent it into was in Conneticut but I'm sure the one in El Paso can't be better since its the same company. I will be contesting this. Precision Camera, you are a ripoff and I will be reporting you to the attorney general if I am not refunded. You fixed nothing on my camera so why should I be paying you? Why don't you return calls? I sent it in for a lens error problem. I got it back and it does the same thing precision people. I want my money back already since you didn't fix a thing on my camera.

Precisioncamera.com is such a ripoff. DON'T SEND YOUR CAMERA TO THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! My camera wouldn't turn on, it was a canon camera that I took care of until it broke. So I found precision camera and it looked like they would fix it for the price on their site. WRONG! Don't believe the price on their site, it was a lie.

They didn't notify me when they got my camera. I had to call them and the hold time was ridiculous each time I called. The quote almost tripled and I refused. They still billed me for looking at it. They said my camera had been exposed to liquid. NOT A CHANCE OF THIS AT ALL. I refused the estimate and they charged me a fee for looking at it. Then getting them to actually return the camera to me was hell. When I got it back it WASN'T EVEN MY CAMERA! Calling back and asking for a manager is useless. It's a joke to them. DO NOT TRUST PRECISION CAMERA, they really suck badly and I'm peeved about this. They should be out of business.

Don't use www.precisioncamera.com!

They are the worst bunch for a camera repair. They are in El Paso Texas which is the place that I had a bad time with. They are the same people from Enfield CT.

They promised my repair and then kept delaying with all sorts of excuses. I went into their place and they were surprised that I showed up. Hey, if you're not going to help someone by phone, well what do you expect. Still just excuses so I demanded my camera back. They kept lying and saying it was in the back but all apart so they couldn't give it back to me like that. I didn't care, I wanted my camera but it never surfaced. Come to find out from an honest employee who told me my camera was in Mexico, yes they send them there he said sometimes because the labor is cheaper. I went back the next day and still no camera. They finally shipped it back to me broken and then would not give me back my money.

Precision Camera in El Paso Texas really bites. I don't recommend them in the least, they were not upfront nor honest and after all was said and done they billed my card anyway and I got stuck with a broken camera.

This happened to me last year but I'm writing about it now because my friend is having a problem on her repair. Guess what place? Precision Camera but at there Enfield CT location.

It seems both locations are a failure. They have shown that to my friend and I anyway.
