Quotev is an amazing website chalk full of people ready to talk about generally anything or hop into roleplay. You can make friends, write stories, take quizzes, even join groups where you can meet all sorts of people. (my username is ordinarypotao, give me a follow if you like :D )
For all reasons i cannot update my books with my friends anymore we can't do anything with the update Bing back old update

Bing back old update
I've been a user, a customer, of quotev for over a decade. They had always been a safe space compared to other sites, full of creative people and entertaining writers. But over a week ago, they did and will be getting rid of all their ways of communication on their site in favor of advertising fanfics and quizzes.
There is nothing wrong with advertising these things. That is what quotev is for. However, how are creators going to make meaningful connections to fans of their work? Certainly not the newsfeed, which was forcefully taken away. Not through groups or direct messages, that will be going away first of july.
If you are a fiction creator, do not waste your time with quotev.
If you are a quiz creator, do not waste your time with quotev.
Any memories in a fandom you have or will make will be deleted forcefully by an unknown (yes, we do not know the creator of quotev) entity who claims that interaction and community is not the point of their interaction and community driven site.
I really do love quotev bur for the past 1-2 years quotev has been updating and the more updates the longer it blocks you out from things most of my followers/friends are going to deactivate like I will for at least a year until quotev could get it's site together
When I joined Quotev about 2 years ago, it was really amazing. Welcoming and hearty. But now, there's updates on the site every single day, and it's annoying. It's actually caused a huge downfall on Quotev. People now use Quotev as a dating/bullying site, where it was originally a site for passionate writers. Whoever the owner of Quotev is, I hope you do something about this, or else your 'website' is going down, and it won't be pretty.
I can't even give Quotev half a star anymore, where 2 years back, I would've gone for 5.

Quotev is a home of passionate writers who wait for their stories to be seen.
You have a profile in which you can express yourself in pictures as well as your interests. Once someone you've followed has followed you back, you can chat with them. The more followers you get the better!
Quotev is really better then watpad and Facebook surprisingly. But the thing everyone is now freaking about "Why did they remove the color text on the about me's?" Truthfully i think it was causing lag and a big time problem for MOST OF the account users and I think they were complaining on how it lagged most of the time. But why the big downgrade?
The other option i can say about the lagging and internet loss of Quotev is that if you are using a Phone, I pad, I phone, Or laptop with only 1 bar of connection :/ find a better hotel or rotter cause that may be the problem. I noticed Facebook has changed as well from the where you can log into your pages are now GONE which kinda is ticking me off a bit:/
Overall Quotev is still a 1000% on my list and daily story writing. And i can say this.
No matter how much you see it upgrading or down grading things it will probably be updated at some point later in the future. Or Cause a major problem for later users.
Tip for consumers:
if your going to use this site i suggest you have a nice time :) cause once you get on it o3o you will never wanna leave.
Around 2012-14 it was good and fun until a lot of people started to become two-facef and very opinionated. Quotev has became the ghetto version of Tumblr only more vicious, so manu people claim that they roleplay when they just use pictures of models or celebs and just post words instead of actually roleplaying.
Everyone expects too much from each other, the company that owns Quotev are $#*!ing tyrants, they just delete whatever and (despite the amount of reports) keep bad people on there as if their lives depended on it.
Back then Drama was just between two people and now, everyone is just budding their heads against each other, and "exposing" everyone.
It used to have aspects many other sites didn't; colors, different fonts and sizes. More freedom, if you will.
It's trying to emulate other sites now, won't listen to its users and bans people who try to contact them.
The admins are really close-minded.
I really love this site. You can talk, rp, make stories or quizzes. There is so much to do. And if you don't like the drama of a person, just unfollow them It's a very easy site to navigate through, and also has a mobile site. Very good site!
I've been using quotev since 2008, back when it was called QUIZAZZ. It used to be a very fun, welcoming, nice website. You were able to have colored fonts on your about me and quizzes and creations, unfortunately as of 2016, they took that feature off. And in 2013, the website went on a deleting spree and deleted many people. Innocent people who never posted a single thing that was offensive, people who never broke the rules or thought about it. There are always people on there stealing other people's valued works and even their profile pictures as well! Now to this day, the website has gotten rid of most of their fun things, and it consists of 13 year olds who complain about their lives and over sexualize everything. I'm concerned for the future of quotev, the place I once knew as a welcoming home. Will it suffer the same fate quizilla did?
Quotev used to be my favorite site, until I got deleted without warning and without good reasoning, If I posted something wrong then they should of contacted me and asked me to take it down and apologize about it. But they didn't do that, they deleted my account and it wasn't fair. I would of given them all five stars if this wouldn't of happened and if this isn't solved soon I will not be bragging about this site to my friends anymore.
Quotev is better than Wattpad, at least because for people who like to role play or create groups, this is the place to be. However, they constantly update, three for this of it's content is poor fan fiction about some emo wannbe magically fall in love with a Canon Mary Sue and end up having intercourse relationships in a whole day, the chain mail on people's activities is horrendous, and the majority of the population is all female. People also claim to be "emo" and "insane" when they are just hormonic teenage girl wannabes going through a phase.
However, Quotev supports all sexualities, has plentifiul of friendly faces, support and help spread awareness to stop having suicidal thoughts or attempting self harm and almost everyone are friendly towards one another. So, Quotev basically depends on the preference of how someone sees it from the pros and cons
Quotev is where I am on a lot of everyday. It's amazing place where people can role play, wrote stories, talk, and meet new people! I have been on Quotev since 2014, and it has changed a lot.
Yes, they update a lot. But that isn't a bad thing (most of the time). People were conplaining about the font color. It's sad,
But at least it won't lag as much.
Quotev has a lot of fandoms, so you really aren't alone in one fandom. It supports all sexualistes, and probably more things.
Overall, Quotev is a wonderful place, and it deserves to have more then 3 stars.
I had a quotev account and they and everything was alright before they deleted my account for no reason... so what if i'm under the age of 13?! I didn't post anything inapropriate or bad i followed all the rules and they deleted me after five days... i hate it! I had so much fun doing quizes and getting nice comment full of support to keep writing and they ruined it.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH QUOTEV!
I have been on this site since 2012. Yes, it has changed, but we still make friends. We have ups, downs and in-between days, but somebody is always there to help.
I liked a lot quotev few years ago, but now is just a website with lot of drama, 10yrs old kids, cartoons. Very boring
PS. you can find me on http://www.qfeast.com/alina90
I love the site and community but my account has been 'disabled' as they call it. My stories are all deleted as if my account had never existed. So yeah it is good but bad.
Quotev has stopped so many people from cutting and commiting suicide. Everyone is family. Our followers are our friends, our account is our room, and the feed is the home.
Quotev is a politically biased, censoring, mob-ruled mess in the vein of any other big social media site. It's mostly made up of underage girls who are baby witches obsessed with LGBT simply because it's trendy on TikTok and media. Any contrary opinions to their trend will get you suspended or banned, because there are WAY too many of these kids (who ironically believe they're super "alt" and "rebellious"). The two biggest opinions I've learned Quotev censors?
1. Anything negative about the occult/witchcraft/Wicca
2. Anything discussing the issues in the gay community without sugar-coating it
If there even are admins on Quotev anymore, they've absolutely gone power-mad and biased about their political and religious views. I said plenty of things I would've thought would've gotten me suspended, but guess what did it? Talking about how horrible pagan gods were to women and how witches in my community like to leave tortured dead birds and cats on people's door steps. Oh, how dare I call out people for their horrific crimes against animals! It's ridiculous.
Meanwhile, these same kids constantly promote hate-speech towards Christians, conservatives, Libertarians, white people, men, non-liberal women, and heterosexuals and somehow that's okay? It's just bias, pure and simple. If you question anything that media says is "good" and "trendy", trust me. This isn't the place for you.
Tip for consumers:
That Quotev is run by mob-rule. If someone on there with a lot of friends gets all their friends to report you, you'll get suspended or banned willy-nilly, regardless of whether you were stating a political/religious/sociological opinion or if you just made somebody mad.
Listen, I've been on Quotev since August of 2014. It's a very supportive site, with people who are there for you when your friends in real life aren't. It's stopped many from thoughts of depression, cutting, suicide, and from what I have experienced, it's even stopped people from self-harming. You can express your creativity by making stories, polls, and quizzes of different sorts. It's a very fun site to be on.
If, of course, you're not on the dark side of it. I have to agree with a lot of other people - Quotev is filled with teenage girls writing stories with horrible grammar, most of them using themselves as the main characters so they can 'fall in love' with the other person. Then, soon enough, there is very detailed, horrendous, not well written sex all crammed into one chapter. It's very, very cringe worthy, and just as immature if you ask me.
And the majority of the users are teenage girls who claim to have 'the worst life ever' and they always talk about their insecurities. They're asking for attention, and sometimes that can get a bit annoying when they're blowing up your feed about how 'they're not worth it' and how 'they're so suicidal they're killing themselves tonight'. And what do you know? They're fine the next day. Happy, even.
I'm not saying that these feelings are true, but Quotev, in a short definition, is a site filled with horrible 'stories' written by attention-seeking teenage girls who claim that their lives are horrible when they haven't even seen the real world yet because they're sitting under a roof, with a family, and food on the table.
Also, Quotev has been updating very often lately. It's making lots of users deactivate until Quotev cleans up it's act. Quotev over the past six months or so has been updating what seems like every other week. They're trying to follow the way other popular social media websites look like, like Tumblr and Facebook. It's not very original anymore and there has been people protesting against it.
I wish I could give negative stars.
I used to use quotev.
I know from experience the community is mostly 12 year olds. They are immature oversexed weeaboos who do nothing but fight and write sex themed fanfics about various anime guys. The users are more politically biased than tumblr and get offended easily. Most of the "literature" is just fictional character porn. Aside from 12 year old fangirls fighting over fictional characters, you will find roleplay accounts, which are more 12 year olds and pedophiles who pretend to be fictional characters in order to achieve cyber sex with the various 12 year old fangirls. I knew a guy in real life who was popular on quotev. Online he claimed to be a hot guy who worked at a pizza place named Vincent. He stole both the name and occupation from a FNAF character. He also stole his profile pic from tumblr. In real life (I'm not going to use his name) he was a 4 foot tall pizza faced neck bearded pervert who has never taken a shower in his life weighing 200 pounds who was expelled from school for exposing himself to a girl in the middle of English class and for sexually harassing yours truly over the course of two months in drama class.
In the end my account got deleted and my IP adress was blocked for no reason with no warning. But it doesn't matter. Frankly I'd have more hurt feelings from getting kicked out of a mental home.
The site is not good if you try and make a account under the age of 13 by mistake it will not let u and you no longer allowed on the site for a week
I joined Quotev a little over a year ago and had been posting stories on it. The people on Quotev are really supportive of your writing, even if it isn't that great. I know this because I was in 8th grade with autism so my grammar sucked. But I like how people overlooked this and saw the creativity in it since I spent a lot of time working on this.
Of course, I also agree with some accounts being disabled from the updates. And I've seen a couple hater girls that rant onto me because they have the 'worst life ever'. And when I try to help them, they're like 'No, I'm good'. I've gotten over it, but it is still a little annoying. And all of it was simply because I said they have a good life. Shouldn't they be proud of that? Like, if they don't want to get help for their problems, then I'd just let them go. Who am I to control their life. But understand that I won't have sympathy for them. If they have a problem and they know it, they know how to help themselves and make their life better, yet they won't get help, then that's just being a little ridiculous.
Sorry this review has been a rant itself. But I'd still say that other than the disabling of accounts, the rest of the problems are user's faults, not the website itself. Overall, Quotev is a supportive website for beginner writers. I'd actually choose Quotev over Wattpad at this point as a writer.
It is a really good site to play personality quizzes. There are also groups you can join and you can talk with other members. Very good site.
