I cancelled the direct debit on one lease months ago because dates changed on when I'd have available funds. I wanted to pay manually instead to avoid late fees if the d/d bounced. But this is where the problem started. Paying via the account portal does not work for me, whenever I attempt to pay it shows up as £0.00 on the approve transaction pop up with my bank or card. There's no way of changing the total. I have messaged them for months stating I require an invoice to be sent via email so I can pay on time & every month they are intentionally late sending it, which in return results in a late fee being applied. So. I am getting a late fee because Raylo are late, not me! I have tried to reinstate the direct debit for a different date, but this has also fallen on deaf ears. I am now in a neverending loop of customer service not responding, willful delays on generating the invoice so I can pay & no response to setting up a new direct debit. So where do I stand? They are also committing an offence under the Bribery Act of 2010. The only time they are quick to react is to a negative review elsewhere. They have someone called Cathy who will consistently pester you via email with a money incentive if you amend the bad review. If you amend, you get a voucher. But if you dare leave another bad review she will proceed to email you once again with a message that comes across as guilt tripping with a subtle underlying threat. Fraudulent practice all round. Please. Avoid at all costs. If something goes wrong then you will be left on your own. Their complaints department also doesn't exist.
Not worth it, they charged me for the phone, and then they blocked it
Also not value for money at all, ended up paying for the same device for almost four years paying for the handset three times over...Not worth it at all!
WORST COMPANY EVER!
Repeatedly pushing back our order, then telling us it's not in stock so to re-apply for another device which is "in stock". So we do that and then the same thing happens again - order pushed back, told it's not in stock, predicting a new delivery date when they 100% know it won't be delivered then.
Customer service just copy and pasting messages to say it's "coming soon".
They advertise it as cheap product, but you never actually receive any item - waste of everyone's time.
Avoid like the plague!
I had a phone with them then I returned after the contract in perfect condition. They added money on saying there was a scratch on. I felt they wasn't interested in what i had to say. My word against there's. A scam to get more money from you. Don't get any product from them.
The worse experience with customer service. Very unhelpfully and non professional. Who want to rent a phone in this day?
Don't trust their Trust Pilot Reviews Rating, its not even worth 1 star
Want a phone urgently? This company is not gonna get it to you. I haven't gotten mine yet and have to cancel the order.
No regards for customers service and shows no empathy.
They scare you and play the game saying if you cancel you won't be able to order again ever in future.
They changed my delivery time twice leading to a delay of over 10 days when they promise next day delivery.
If you want to get a phone early, look somewhere else. I didn't event get my phone and had to cancel the order.
I hope I had read the reviews earlier, a lot of people faced same issue.
Had no issues until 3 months ago. I logged on to pay and there was no visible function on the website to allow me to pay. I prefer to pay by card on the day rather than trust them to take the correct dd. I paid the bill the next day, after complaining and explaining it wasn't my fault they removed the initial "late payment fee" of £19. Now each month the computer is automatically adding £19 as a late fee, before its even created the next invoice! Each month I have to waste half a day waiting on agents in the chat to create a new invoice with a "promise to pay" for the following working day. I duly pay and it still charges me £19 the following month and I feel like I'm in groundhog day. Should have stayed with Vodafone.
Terrible experience with Raylo. After retuning a phone in perfect condition, I am getting bombarded with messages and emails claiming I owe them over £100 with ZERO explanation as to why. This is a scam! Ripping customers off after they cancel their contract. Avoid! I'm
So when I took the contract out I've always been made aware you can pay the non return fee. Which is in the contract in black and white on the email when I took out the contract in 2001 to my shock I got a job return fee for around £400 which it should be £160.99 in total according the the legal T&C so now there charging a different amount without any warning.
I will take it up with the financial ombudsman and seek legal advice. Totally ripped me off now not happy
False advertising, inflated prices, customer service non existent, avoid.Sent email phone from £23.99 then when goes to buy slap an extra tenner on
I lost the device rented from them over a year ago which I reported but yet they are still refusing to let me cancel now without charging an unaffordable non return fee.
Yet keep saying I am due an upgrade. Ha what a joke of a company, they are a disgrace
I have been paying Raylo since 2020. £33.99 for 36 months. Before I signed the contract (Raylo was founded only in 2019), I did my own research. All the websites, I checked at the time (techcrunch.com, finder.com, nutsaboutmoney.com, etc), were stating that after three years, if I wished, I could keep the phone for £1.
So far I have payed Raylo £1223.64 for iPhone 11 Pro. When it first got out on the market in 2019, it's price, published by Apple was $999.00.
Raylo now want further £368.00. The £1 is actually is a non return fee and they threaten to block my phone if I do that.
I have been lured into a contract, that now I bitterly regret.
Raylo did not show any understanding, nor care to stop the misleading information that is out there.
Communication with their customers service is appalling. Even when I escalated my complaint I got copied and pasted messages back.
I would have never chosen Raylo, If I knew then what I know now. I wish I never ticked that box!
The clauses in the agreement are so bad, and legally binding you the customer to their very unfair agreement. Be careful of them easily providing you with an offer of a good phone at low price. They have no mercy on you later, if for any reason you can't afford the none return fee. It's like a loop hole you get charged added on them passed to debt collectors that don't do their job properly. Then Raylos and the debts agencies miscommunication and error you have to pay out of your pocket. While Raylo will just keep on saying well it's your agreement!
Customer support is terrible. No email was received about trade in collection so I was not prepared when they arrived. Raylo refused to rearrange and cancelled the trade in.
I returned a phone that didn't work, wouldn't download a basic app. Got a message saying nothing was wrong with the phone pay £470 odd pounds to cancel. Reported to financial ombudsman who wrote to them and they haven't replied in two weeks the time they had to respond has passed and the ombudsman will have to deal with this. Untrustworthy, stressful and not worth the hassle! Avoid!
