We haven't received any payback yet. It has been 17 days that we returned the car. I have never have such problem with other companies. I will certainly not recommend this company to anyone. Their explanation was not enough and didn't satisfy. I have all rights to write about this awful experience to online comments in every car hire platform..

Don't use these Scamers!

Booked with Rentalcars.com for pickup in Orlando. A complete SCAM! I noticed a week prior to trip pickup times were incorrect, per automated system you can amend your reservation online… but that's not true!

I called the # on the confirmation page which routed us to the rental car Comp directly where we were told they would be closed when we arrived & adjustments could not be made to the pickup time.? We were unable to pickup our vehicle, our reservation was cancelled AND was charged the FULL rate? I finally was able to speak with Rentalcar.com advised I called the wrong #, which was not avail on our conf page and would not issue a refund…. So we double paid for our rental ruining our park ticket budget. So horrible.

They already charged my debit card, but since i did not have a credit card i could not pick up the car. Tried to cancel booking on web, but could not. Called them on Skype and they refused to refund me.

They are dishonest and a complete rip off. They deceive you into thinking the rental is one price and than they charge you four times more than the original agreement. They know you are vulnerable so they take advantage and defraud you. There need to be some government entity to police this lying company.

Nice app, but if for any reason you have to cancel your reservation after the scheduled time of pickup, you will not be refunded. Even if you did not pick up the car. A cancellation fee would be fair, but they take the entire amount. My planned pickup time was 20:30 on the 3rd of Jan, I informed them of my cancellation 10:24 the morning after.

RentalCars.com obtained in full my advance car rent for a weeks hire of an Alamo car at Fiumincino. Unexpectedly a flight London to Rome was cancelled. The following day I presented myself to the Alamo desk at FCO to be told not presenting myself the previous day invalidated the entire RentalCar contract for the seven days. Alamo who charged me again for another vehicle was free to rent that original car to another customer. So both Alamo and their agent RentalCar made profits by Not Providing a service. Obtaining a rebate from the Booking.com website has proven both extremely ( intentionally) difficult if not impossible. This is a service to avoid.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid. Go direct to car hire companies.

I use Avis for 30 years never have problem I use Rentalcar. Com was very disappointed and disgusting the treatment they still my money I have no words to describe this company never again I hope they go out of business soon as possible otherwise lot more people they going to be heart

Booked a car for pick-up from London Heathrow online that came with third party insurance. At the counter the price I was charged was double the online price. I booked using a credit card that provided insurance however had purchase CDW insurance. Please book with caution when using rentalcars.com.

An hour and 15 minutes delay and due to this they refused to provide a car and refused to refund my payment of £288 because in small letters in terms and conditions said they would refuse. Completely fraudulent behaviour and shameless in it.

Booked a car with these crooks... paid my money online and they initially sent me paperwork to download that said the cdw insurance was included. I took this copy with me to the UK when I went to collect the car.
The rental company said I had no insurance and wouldnt let me take car without the cdw.
Long story short. Tried to contact rentalcars.com from the car rental desk but they kept cutting me off.
In the end I had to pay in full and could have rented the car for what I paid at the desk without using rentalcars.com.
Tried to ask them several times why they are charging for a false product but just get read your contract.
TOTAL SCAMMERS

I reserved a car the 1st of December 2022 And was sent an email by them telling me that the car was no longer available and too choose another one. When I got to the airport in Costa Rica I found out that now I had 2 cars rented to my name, Even though I only had accepted and got the voucher for one of them. Now they owe me $675. They get -10 stars from me

The biggest tip I can give anybody is don't use them

When I went to get the car, was informed they didn't have any cars available. Was told that rental car just says they have it to get you book. Doesn't matter if the company does have it or not. The car company which is in a smaller airport told us if we would have booked thru them we would have been informed it takes a day to get the car to there airport. After much waiting around and discussion, we finally got an upgrade of a car.

Warning: make sure you read the fine print on rentalcars.com. They give you a great deal, but when you check out at the car rental place (Payless Car Rental) the price doubles. The response from rentalcars.com is you have to pay for local fees. So when browsing the web make sure you don't come across sites like rentalcars.com or Payless Car Rental that you have to read the fine print and you don't get the deal you expect.

A total scam and the worst costumer service ever!
If you don't hold a credit card and are not willing to "open a tab" on it at the rental company counter, don't book through Rentalcars. If you only hold a debit card, well hey will make you pay for full insurance!
I have rented cars on many occasions, don't recommend them. A total scam + taking the costumer for a fool!

Simply a fraud. No car and no money back. We booked a car using the website and they charged all the money. When we arrive there was no reservation what so ever. I think it is one of those scam websites

I received a parking ticket in an Enterprise car I had rented. I paid the municipality within 48 hours of returning the car. Enterprise sent me an email after I paid the fine to inform me that they were going to charge me a $25 fee as well.

Sent them a response indicating that I would no longer do business with them after 20 years if they charged me anything for a ticket that had been paid. I received an email back indicating they would charge me, so done with them.

They don't value customers, so take your business elsewhere.

I have use this app 3 times in different countries but the result was always the same.

Instead the new car I have blocked, I received always different, old and dirty car. Probably the worst in the port folio.
Dying to connect with them is not possible.
No guarantee for nothing.

Do not use them!

I was charged more for the car than my reservation stated and have gotten nothing but the run around Dollar rental cars states I have to go to Rentalcars.com, Rentalcars.com says go to Priceline.com, Priceline.com can not find anything and sends me back to Rentalcars.com. I have gotten nowhere. Even with the printed reservation Dollar rental cars will not stand behind it, do not fall for the bait and switch price the rental car companys will no stand behind it.

They are a scam. I rent a car from them in Larnaca and I have never receive it, They charge my car band i get nothing. I try to message them but they respond that they will keep the money :( Keep away!

The worst experience with renting a car ever. I was sold a car from Rentalcars.com for 35 dollars. When I arrived I was forced to play 185 dollars for insurance regardless I had insurance both on my card and from Rentalcars.com. This site is a shame and a fraud.

If you read this, you could be in my case when I discovered the reviews too late. If not, you get a great chance: DO NOT BOOK FROM THEM. They will be very quick to take your money, and when you arrive to pick up the car, the nightmare begins. I was asked to provide a caution of around 200 USD, but ONLY with a CREDIT CARD. I offered 500 USD cash or a debit card, it was a NO-NO. So I had to take a car from a nearby agency. I tried to contact them by email: they said to call. I called, they said to contact by email. I have been in touch with "six" different people, all with the same copy-paste text and request to provide my booking number, pick-up date and location... to prove my identity. And that I should go through their website to cancel my booking. Which is impossible because it's marked as "running". Or that I should read their refund policies. Or that I should call them. I can't understand how they are able to operate. It's clearly an organized scam.

Don't use this site. Never.

My flight was late by 6 hours. When I approached the table, there was no free car for me. When I called Rentalcars they told me they could cancel my booking with a 30% cancellation fee. And keep the visa deposit for the next 5 days. So I had no money for another car. I agreed. But the reservation was not canceled and they do not answer calls from me.

I made a reservation for a mini van a month before my travel date, a few days before I called the rental car company to confirm and was told that rental.com had canceled my reservation. When I called them they were not helpful at all. The first person I spoke to connected me to Budget car rental who told me again that Rentalcars had canceled my reservation. Second time I called she couldnt even help me find me another car. Told me to go on the internet and look. Horrible company. No customer support at all.

I hired a car and paid for it. When I arrived there was no car. The booking had been canceled and I had received no notification. This caused me a lot of trouble, stress and a day off work plus the extra costs. I made many phone calls over a few weeks period and each time I had to explain the everything over and over again. After a month and all the I have been offered a discount on my future booking not even mentioning how much this discount is going to be.

Never have I ever been this angry. I assumed on return from my holiday trip to Europe that the additional full price of my upgraded car (they didn't have the one I selected from their website) at the Dublin airport was a simple error. I had paid for a car in advance. I assumed that payment came off of the price of the car I received. It didn't. I paid full price for that car as well. Arriving in Dublin from an overnight flight, perhaps my thinking was foggy and I didn't check it closely enough. It was also in Euros and my payment was in my country's currency. Rentalcars.com is saying I was supposed to call them if my car was not available per my confirmation. I cannot find ANYTHING in that confirmation that states I was to call them first. I also didn't notice this until reviewing my Visa statement on my return home. My bad, but I was on it soon enough (well within 30 days).

Don't use this website.

Please do not use this site. They are not even in the United States. The customer service lies to you and they give no refunds at all. This is why I reported them to every agency out there. Do not use this site at all.
