We haven't received any payback yet. It has been 17 days that we returned the car. I have never have such problem with other companies. I will certainly not recommend this company to anyone. Their explanation was not enough and didn't satisfy. I have all rights to write about this awful experience to online comments in every car hire platform..

I booked a car through them, but I wasn't given a car. They refused to give me my money back, coming up with all sorts of excuses (they had to cover their admin costs, it wasn't their responsibility, I hadn't turned up to pick up the car (I had proof that I had) etc). Eventually I went to a small claims court. I got 100% of my money back plus costs. Don't let them get away with it if they do the same to you.

I've booked a car for 2 days and when I presented myself to the agency they were not able to give a car.
I was a bit late but it wasn't possible to get someone on the phone to say that I was on my way.
Anyway the car was already booked and payed.

Rentalcar did not consider my request of refund
Just an awful service client quality

My husband and I have booked a 9 seater Van from Rome to Milan in June this year. Our travel plans changed & I called to request the van be dropped off two days earlier. I was informed that I could lose the van booking altogether, and be allocated a smaller car instead (impractical as there are 8 adults plus luggage) AND I would have to pay a higher amount? I wish I had read the reviews on these SCAM ARTISTS before I booked through them. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES hire a car through this mob EVER.

I wanted to change my booking to pick up the car a couple of hours early and I couldn't do it online and the call centre took 50mins to pick up. The person who answered was rude. It's a disgrace. Don't use them ever.

So in addition to my previous review about Rentalcars.com
I have decided to return my money so I went further.
1. I have written to my bank the request for returning money, my question will be treated 1 to 3 month
2. I have written to the Car rental company "Rent a car global" and asked for help with my problem, no response
3. I have written to Customer protection center in UK, my request was rejected due to I'm not a citizen of UK
4. I have written to the Europian customer protection service, my request was also rejected due to mentioned reason
5. I have spent time on correspondence with Rantalcars.com, the company insist on the rules in the Car rental terms, but when I mentioned about "Consumer Rights Act 2015" they just stop to communicate with me. Of course, it's a UK customer rights, not Ukrainian customers. Thus finally one hope for my bank.
Thank all who read my review.
Have a good deal with a good broker.

I have booked through Rentalcars.com the car in Germany, Frankfurt. But in fact, they didn't allow me to pick up a car, my Credit card wasn't meet company rules. It has to have the name of credit card holder and "credit" instead of "debit" status. But the money that was debited from my card the Rentalcars refused to return. So please be careful when dealing with Rentalcars, read please all rules carefully before booking a car through this dealer.

I received my important info email with details about the rental 3 weeks AFTER I fetched the car, the service provider (Interrent) didn't have a polo or similar car, they only had a fiat 500 which couldn't fit our bags, we were forced to upgrade the vehicle at a very large cost and then taking advantage of the language barrier I later noticed they charged us daily for a child's seat when we didn't have one or need one... in future I will contact europecar directly and get what I pay for as in the past... terrible experience on the first day of your holiday

If you arrive late to the car pickup location you will find that they have canceled your reservation and pocketed 100% of the fee and will not give you a refund or apply it to a new reservation. STAY AWAY

Upon sending me to the wrong destination m, and phoning the company who told me that the hire firm was closed (when it wasn't) I emailed a complaint and was told that the 'was a special department' for people who had suffered as I had. Finally I got through to 'Daniela' who confirmed that there was nothing she could do or say about the issue other than a measily discount on a future rental- she didn't even give the discount, but told me to chase a phone number. Appalling! Never use this company. I was out in danger, as was my family- and their lack of care is disgusting.

Rentacars.com rented me a car in Korea, but did not inform me until two days before my flight from the U.S. that I had to obtain an International Driver's Permit (IDP). I've rented cars in Europe many times without this requirement. It wasn't until Rentalcars.com sent me a voucher two days before my flight that I would need an IDP. I tried in vain to get one online, but was informed that the rental car company would only accept a hard copy IDP. In any event, I tried to obtain the car at the airport but the rental agency refused to give me a car. Rentalcars.com has refused to give me a refund, and kept my $241 rental fee. They charged the $241 as a "cancellation fee," but at the time I tried to rent the car there was a lot full of similar cars. Rentalcars.com is an unworthy company and no one should attempt to rent a car from them.

Be careful with this company. We arrived in the UK and went to collect the car from Europcar, to be told we needed a bigger car to get all our luggage in. We were upgraded at a premium price and the vehicle provided was too big and expensive, but after 24 hours on a plane with 2 kids under 5, we just wanted to drive the 4 hours to our destination and sleep.
We returned the car the next day where Europcar cancelled the orginal booking (with Rental Car) and we took a new booking out for a smaller car. We were told we need to get a refund from Rentalcar.com as we had used the car orginally booked for 24 hours and the booking had been cancelled.
It's been 2 months and 10 emails later, yet I am still being told they are are "investigating the issue", we have paperwork showing the cancellation as well as the new booking, and have provided all this to rental car... still waiting on $1500 AUD refund...
This has left a bad taste after a nice holiday.

I booked a car at a nice price. Later in the app i saw, that they booked additional 200$ more than they showed me. I thought, this must be the caution, because it should be this amount. When i arrived at the airport and waited 1 hour for my rental the caution was blocked again from the rental company. I called the customer service of rentalcars immediatly and asked whats wrong with this case.

They only asked if i already booked the car. As i aggreed, they said the price which i paid, was the full booking price without any caution. I asked if i could cancel the booking or bring the car back now. No chance, they would charge the full price in any case if i take the car or not.

I would nobody recommend to book with this company. It seems to me, that they are a absolute Scam.

I did a mistake in the month of my reservation and found it out on the 8th day of the 11 day reservation. I contacted rentalcars that forwarded me to the Rental Car Company (autounion) and this company told me that they didnt charge rentalcars anything and changed status of my reservation to Cancelled-Non Shown up. I contacted rentalcars again and they explained that all the money of my reservation are lost and will stay in rentalcars pocket! Even if it was a 300 day reservation this is their policy and zero money goes out of their pocket.

They charged my credit card for the rental and sent an email saying they had issues and can't process my credit card. I'm looking at my credit card charges and see the amount charged FIVE days ago. So I went ahead and canceled the reservation (30 days prior) and they NEVER sent me an email confirmation nor did they refund me for the amount... it's been 2 weeks. I just got off the phone with them. The rep said they had a system' issue and never received my payment nor did they receive my cancellation! Wow, really!? I'm staring at my charge right now! They told me it will have to be manually entered to get me reimbursed and that It will take 5-7 business days. I highly doubt it and will dispute the charges with my credit card company if I don't see any updates within 5 days. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!

WORST AGENCY EVER! DO NOT BOOK! I had to cancel the reservation not because of my fault but for the rental car place fault. And this rentalscars agency in Uk had me on the phone with 4 different people 2 rude women said I can only change the reservation or I will loose the whole amount which was more than $700. One of them even hanged up on me. And then 2 other men said that they could cancel and refund me but charge me 3 days of the rental which ended up charging me $84. It's better that than losing the whole $700 but its still so unfair. This people are THIEVES! Many agencies are just trying to recover the money the lost during the pandemic. DONT FALL FOR IT.

I had been a regular user of rentalcar.com but recently had to contact them when their website duplicated my bookings! I've been on the phone to their customer service for over 30mins now and they still haven't sorted my issue - they could at least communicate with me rather than leave me on hold now for over 10mins. Very poor customer service and they don't have the ability to simply solve a customer issue.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use them - they will duplicate your booking and take double money off your card for this!

The first time I used it, it worked. After that, I got no car but was charged anyway.
It was bad enough that my reservation was not honored and I had to pay a MUCH higher fee to rent a car at the counter, but then rentalcars charged my credit card anyway.
By the way, I used this in the US. I am a US citizen with a US license, but the rental counter staff said I had to have an international drivers license to get the car. In other words, NO American can use this service! You will be charged, but you will not get the car you reserved.

I booked a car for 27 dollars for one day and in the place the asked for 72 and then they couldnt peces my car so they cancel my booking but they refused to refund my money!

I booked a car for a holiday Portugal through Rentalcars.com for a car that came with basic/standard insurance. I then also opted for Full Protection for another 90 from Rentalcars.com. When we returned the car we were charged 339 for a 26mm scratch on a hubcap. Might have been there when we collected it originally, but so small I would have never noticed it. Suspiciously it was the first place the man checking the car on return went to (hmmmmmmm). Anyways, we paid. I submitted my online claims form which took 10 minutes on Rentalcars.com a week later. 3 hours later I received an email that my credit card (one used in paying for full protection) would be credited the full amount back within 5 working days. The only thing I was charged beyond what I paid Rentalcars.com was the fuel option which I had specifically asked for at the desk myself. No hidden charges.

My reservation was not honored. This company would not refund my charge for. Reservation that never was conformed to me and they alleged that they send it I I never took the reservation. They charged me $345 for a rental car in San Juan Puerto Rico that never was confirmed to me and never received an confirmations smIl, and they can't proof that they did. Never use this company. They are not reliable and will steal your money by saying even though you didn't get the product, the charges are non-refundable.

I booked a car with Europcar through Rentalcar.

Europcar canceled my order, free of charge, because I did not collect the car within 6 hours of the collection time (due to a delay in my travels)

On a call to Europcar they said Rental car has not paid them any money.

Rental car decides to charge me all my money as a "cancellation" fee.

If I had booked directly with Europcar I would have had no issues. I probably could have rebooked or not have been charged at all.

This rentalcar company is a scam! Trust me, there are tons of reviews making this obvious.

I reserved a rental car through this outfit for a trip to phoenix. I paid for the rental upfront. The fee was charged to my account, I checked. When I arrived the rental company would not accept my credit card. When I contacted rental cars dot com to try and understand what was going on all they would tell me is that they wouldn't give me back my money. I wasn't trying to get my money back, I was trying to get a rental car! Worst see vice possible. Do yourself s favor and don't even consider using this "service". Zero stars is the appropriate rating, they only get a one because zero is not an option.

One of the worst companies I ever dealt with.
Stole £100 from me for a £77 rent, without a reason or even an explanation.
And to add insult to injury, their online customer service doesn't even try to help and the phone customer service just disconnect you.
It's been a month now and I got nowhere.
DON'T USE THEIR SERVICES!

Unfortunatelly, this has been the worst experience I ever had so far in my life from a service company. I booked a car with rentalcars and while the full amount for the whole rental period has been charged, when I cancelled the booking (within the window od 48 hours) the customer rep told be that they where unable to locate my booking. I had to go back and forth looping around and repeating my self in every single correspondance (exchanged more than 30 e-mails) for them to manage to raise a ticket with their finance department for a refund. They have asked for and I provided the bank transaction recept for the amount charged. Still after one month they haven't refunded the amount and they told me that they cannot commit on a time frame and I have to be paient! I have informed them that if they dont settle the refund within a week's time ie end of November 2022, I will file a coplaint with the consumer protection authorities and will see each other in court.

Be very mindful to your Rentalcars services!

I rent the car on Check24 for 7 days, after that I came to the Frankfurt airport and they did not have the car what I booked and paid for. Also, they told me that I paid nothing, and if paid, it means not to them, and I need to pay extra. I do not know how the system works in this business, but it looks like I booked the car on Check24, then they booked on rentalcars.com, and they booked on "global rent". In the end of this story, They told me that they can refund only 50% of the amount that I paid, but it was there mistake that they did not have the car what I booked and paid for. Also, they charged for boarding crossing extra 20 EUR.

I went to this website and reserved a 5 seat - 2/4 door Nissan Altima Coupe with a atta he'd picture of a four door car. When I arrived at the Thrifty Car rental car desk, I was told, rather rudely, that I could not rent a Nissan Altima Coupe at that location because they never carried them at all. Furthermore, they said that if I wanted the four door, which was advertised in the descriprion and photo by the RentalCars.com website, I would have to upgrade to it. In short this seems to be a shady operation that is just a hack of a middle man with no clue of what is actually going on at the rental car facility.
