We haven't received any payback yet. It has been 17 days that we returned the car. I have never have such problem with other companies. I will certainly not recommend this company to anyone. Their explanation was not enough and didn't satisfy. I have all rights to write about this awful experience to online comments in every car hire platform..

Booking procedure on the internet really bad. There are fees, that don't show up in your booking confirmation. Watch out, if you intend to return your car at a different location. Huge amount.

Will rip you off or fail to highlight important details buried in a policy anyway they can. Use any other company. The rental car dealers dont have any control over your booking if there is an issue

They owe me 432 USD for a car I have never received. Service support comes up with all kinds of random excuses to not pay the money back. Will take legal action if I am not getting the refund.

Offers low prices, extract money, after which they find the kind of motives to not give you the services and, sure, no refund. Avoid rentalcars, there are a lot of honest companies

I booked a car through Rentalcars because it had a filter that allowed me to find companies who accepted debit cards for the whole rental process. However, they allow companies to give false information as the company we selected (Goldcar) did require a credit card. To be clear, this is not the norm, as other companies in the same neighborhood did do the booking with only debit cards (i. E.: sixt, avis). Anyway, we expected some problems and therefore brought a credit card. Such card was not accepted by Goldcar system even though it was used without problems throughout the trip. With this problem at hand, we called Rentalcars, whose automated voice bot would never redirect the call to a human, and would turn off the call instead. Later, when they open, upon requesting a refund, I get an answer saying that they cannot refund because they were not informed I could not get the car at the time of pick-up. Which was impossible given their customer service was closed.

I expect problems with car rental companies, but aggregator websites should be on the customer side. You are better off using booking.com who correctly informed the credit/debit card requirements from different companies. Or even any other competitor.

Watch out! Second time I am fooled by this company. It only happened to me in Warsaw's Modlin airport (WMI). They get you to sign that the tank is full. When you get in the car the tank might be 90%. If you return it full and you say it, they'll tell you that you should have returned it in the same condition. If you return it 90%full, they'll say you have signed that it was full! I've just had this experience in Modlin. It might just be bad luck with the staff, but whatch out, they are dishonest.

We booked a prepaid car to be delivered at ISTABUL Airport. When there the car agent wanted a guarantee 10 times higher than what was written in the contrcat and he refused to deliver the car. We claimed with RENTALCARS who did nnot answered for one week. When they finally answered they wrote they could not take into consideration our Claim until the period of car renting would have ended (one mont).
This is not a serious or professional company, they are an unreliable and unethical bunch of people to stay away from.

Totally got scammed in Portugal (Lisbon) by Sixt and rentalcars. Showed up late (2 hours) and my car (that was prepaid) was gone, got forced into an upgrade (there was another family who had the same problem) and paid Euro500 extra! Terms are not clear and using this as an opportunity to upsell, something all rentalcar companies are known for. Have requested compensation but rentalcars refuses any liability in this and will file a complaint with the BVRLA. Looking for other victims to join me. My advice, pay more and go direct or look for other websites to reserve a car. Was told by another company rentalcars.com are known for this practice.

Our flight was delayed which meant we were 1.5 hrs late to collect a car that had been booked and paid for 3 months earlier. The agent cancelled the rental and refused to refund over £400.

I booked a car from the U.S. as I didn't know the European car companies. My flight was delayed 2 hours and I missed my connector. I spend the entire time in the airport going back and forth with Rentalcars.com to see if I could get my car after 10pm. They could not get ahold of the car company and told me I had to pay more money to book another car and they would then give me my money back. It was horrible service and I eventually had to take the full car rental hit. None of it was in my control, they couldn't get me in touch with the car company they had on their website, and charged me for it.

The worst company to rent from! Don't waste your time, money or damage your health dealing with this company and their representatives. Truly! They provide the absolute WORST service, then steal your money then treat you like you're the problem. They are SUPER unprofessional. I literally spent an entire WEEK + with several phone calls to try and resolve my issue. They repeatively denied me a manger or service, hung up on me several times after placing me on 45+min long holds. NEVER offered me any professional assistance. Almost want to believe this company is a scam, their customer service was so disrespectful and unprofessional. Words can't describe. This has put a huge damper in my family and I's vacation. They literally laughed at me, rudely and aggressively interrupted me when talking several times each phone call. I stopped counting how many times I've called about my money and concern. This is beyond me how this so called company and there reps are still standing and able to take anyone's money. They are very unprofessional and argumentative if you all them to affect you that way. Be careful. I do not recommend this company. Let me be your example truly. If I could give them a -0 I would. The only option provided to resolve my issue was through contact CS via phone. End result, they still have my money, never got the assistance I needed. Be blessed.

Do not book with this company. I repeat save yourself and DO NOT book with this company. They go out their way to cover their behinds and to keep their lack a secret.

We booked a car via the ryanair car rental site at mas by mex in Cancun WITH full coverage insurance on the raynair site. 2 hours before accepting the rentalcar contract they canceled my insurance without letting me know. Now we didnt have any insurance at all. Upon asking why they canceled the insurance they explained that I(!) canceled the insurance. That is an absolute lie! Avoid it at all cost

Staff is incompetent and unhelpful. You'd have better luck talking to a rock. Was unable to confirm rental with car company. No managers available. Intake staff should be culled.

Rentalcars.com are completely dishonest. Told 3 different stories from 3 different representatives and now they refusing to refund money which was promised by rental provider

Yes, RentalCars.com is a scam, I reserved a car with them and I decided a week before to cancel it because I decided to use my car, but when I cancelled I was shocked that they did not want to return my money that they take for rental, I called their customer service, they don't respond.

I can confirm that Rentalcars.com is a scam!

I rented a car, a shuttle bus Renault Traffic / Opel Vivaro etc. and when I got to the place to pick up a car I was given a very small car with very little space for luggages! I just couldn't believe my eyes! I was so furious and my guest were waiting in the airport and I was terrible late because I had to refuse the car and I went to another company to rent a proper shuttle bus which cost me a lot of money stress, time and I was embarrassed in front of my 7 guests waiting for me in the airport!

Stay away from Rentalcars.com, is a scam!

I can really confirm that Rentalcars.com is a scam!!

The agent at the counter (Diana) was grumpy and manipulative. I handed her my expired license. "I can't accept this," was her response with no eye contact, empathy, or suggestions. I had a temporary current license, so we continued on. She told me I would need to pay a $90 "early" fee. I asked her to consider the fact that I was only 26 minutes early. She replied with a statement about availability, which made sense, but we learned there were three cars available, one of which we took and used. She pushed the insurance on us, and would not accept an expired Gieco ID card. We used our app to show her our current ID card. She talked us into spending $13/day for toll pass, which we used twice the entire trip. Finally, she started to charge us $13/day for my wife to drive the car. When we questioned her, she replied, "Oh, I didn't know you were married. You have to tell me stuff like that. How am I supposed to know that your common last name doesn't mean you are brother and sister?" The whole experience was absolutely horrible. The agent was grumpy, pushy, and dishonest.

Do not use this company once they have your deposit they will try and take the full payment without notifying you ( they did it to me 4 weeks before hiring the Car)
Then threatened that they would cancel the contract losing the good deal they offered along with other scare tactics.
Rather than settle closer to time of hiring or when the car is picked up. So I went direct to car rental company direct got it for the same price!
I then had a lengthy conversation which is documented asking them to show me anywhere where and when the balance was due which they said was in a note. No note existed in any communication with myself and Rentalcars.com
They then said the deposit is forfeit $150 again which is unacceptable but I MIGHT be able to claim it back but it could take up to 28 days so do I want to hire the car.
I told them if I do not get my deposit back in 24 hrs I'll post bad reviews as there practices are unacceptable and people deserve to know.
Ps if anyone would like to se the Transcript of the above claim I'll gladly post.
In summary find another company or go direct.

A very poor mediator! With awful communication and they are not interested in their clients at all! Better rent directly from car rental companies to protect your money, nerves and time!

In my case I was charged by them for a whole week of car rental which never happened. And there is no way of money refund.
I booked a car via rentalcars, but the rental did not happen due to a technical reason. The employee of a car-rental company assured me that it is no problem. They asked me to contact rentalcars, which will check that the service was not provided, and they will give my money back. It sounds logical, doesn't it? But rentalcars views it differently. It turned out that according to their inner rules the car-rental employee should have immediately contacted them. In the opposite case they consider it as «no show-up» and charge you the full sum.

I paid 500$ because rentalcars did not explain its inner regulations to its partners. And they refuse to give it back, even partially.

Do not go my way. Work directly with car-rental companies. In this case you can be at least sure that they know their own rules.

Following Rentalcars agents advice, I managed to open a case after the contracted rental period was completed. Case submission is tricky; my advice is to prepare all your supporting attachments ready to attach from your laptop before you start. On the case entry page, you are only given a 350 character field in which to enter your case summary.
Since this is usually insufficient, prepare and attach a separate file with your full account of what happened and what you are claiming.

Try to complete the case summary and uploading of attachments promptly otherwise you may have to start again. On case submission, you will see an onscreen confirmation message and email with subject "Looking into your issue". After that, it took several emails on my part to expedite a refund - it took about 6 weeks. Other than the fact that denial of service at the time on a technicality totally disrupted my holiday plans, there was significant extra cost of booking a replacement hire car with another more reasonable supplier than Europcar!

They will accept your booking readily, then if the booked supplier refuses to release the car for any unusually stringent condition, you will be referred back to Rentalcars will not offer you any alternative booking and keep your money, blaming you for breach of terms and conditions, quoting huge cancellation costs. I had to book direct with another UK supplier at considerable extra cost, but with the same driver documentation!

Rentalcars have told me to open a case after the contracted rental period is completed, even if you never received the car! Why the wait? After all that, instructions to open a case are obscure and make one wonder if they really want to help. So far it has not been a pleasant first-time experience with Rentalcars.

I went to rent a car through rentalcars.com, and paid for my rental. They automatically enter your country of residence based on the IP when you book, then voided my reservation as a result. Renting a car which was cancelled without a refund.

Worst custumer service ever. Nobody cares about resolving anything. Paid for a rental almost 2000 dollar when i got to the airport they cancelled the reservation. After 2 hours on the phone they... Telling i did not pick up the car! When i was right there at the rental counter! Total Scam!
