We haven't received any payback yet. It has been 17 days that we returned the car. I have never have such problem with other companies. I will certainly not recommend this company to anyone. Their explanation was not enough and didn't satisfy. I have all rights to write about this awful experience to online comments in every car hire platform..
I bought insurance for the car from this site, but when I got to the rental car company they said that no insurance was paid for. Won't ever rent a car through this website again.

I rented a car at Rome airport via Rentalcars.com in September. The car type ordered was Nissan Juke or similar, and the price was €400 for two weeks, not including the full insurance cover, to be purchased on Rentalcover.com. The car hire company providing the car would be OKMOBILITY.
At the rental desk the representative told me that they will give me a car which, in his words, cannot carry three people with air conditioning on.
Despite my insistence to get the car I ordered, I was told that if I wanted a car which could carry three people with air conditioning on, I needed to take an upgrade.
There was quite a crowd of renters at all rental companies' desks around and a line of people behind me, and I was in a hurry, so I couldn't change my rental to another company or start looking for Rentalcars.com support phone number, so I took an upgrade. This cost me another €385.
After the rental was over, I asked Rentalcars.com for a refund, but my request was dismissed, because I didn't contact their representative in real time.

BAD BAD BAD! I'm very angry at them. I usually don't like to put bad reviews but this. It's why I loose hope in humanity. This is a real SCAM.
We wanted to rent a car with rentalcars.com and they accepted a DEBIT card to make a reservation but refused to give the car because the companie, finally need a CREDIT card! The compagnie can do nothing about it and RENTALCARS.COM refused to cancel it.
We called them and they told us that we had 24 hours to cancel it and of course it was less than 24 hours but still doesnt want to cancel it. She hang up!
Now we have no money and no cars...
THANK YOU RENTALCARS.COM you ruin my holidays...

Watch out for their trick. They send you an email that the booking is not possible and 15 min later the email confirmating the booking. If you miss the second one no refund possible.

Hi, I hired a car with this company - offsite office away from all other rental companies. The fully covered insurance doesn't cover you and the car supplier hits it for you again. I challenged the manager who said it was nothing to do with them it was covered but a refunder so if there was damage you would pay and would be refunded later. I found out the hard way DO NOT USE THESE COWBOYS

Initially my experience we good, booking the car was easy enough, but as soon as I ran into issues, forget it! The company I booked a car with would not rent to me because they wouldn't accept my credit card. So, here I was stranded at the airport having paid for a car but with no ride. I had to rent a vehicle from another company at the airport last minute. Again, I tried to cancel before my scheduled pick-up but was repeatedly, and conveniently for them, redirected. It was relayed to me in a live chat (text message essentially), because I STILL haven't spoken to a real person, that I would have to wait until my trip ended to file a claim. When the initial rental period was over, I filed a claim only to be told that they would not refund me. The company they partnered with refused to rent to me and yet they were going to keep my hard-earned money, not to mention the fact that I still had to rent a car. I told them that was unacceptable and they finally, three weeks later, have provided a partial refund but they still kept $88 as a cancellation fee. After all the headache and hassle I paid more than I would have if I had booked directly. Just save yourself the hassle and DO NOT USE RENTALCARS.COM. YOU are not their priority and neither is getting you a rental car. Side note: my voucher stated that there would be no cancellation fees if the booking was cancelled before the scheduled pick-up time. Just make sure their site is working when you plan on cancelling!

I use the RentalCars.com to reserve two cars one in Tel Aviv (with Herz) and other in Berlin (Global). When I arrived in Tel Aviv they required further documents that I could not provide, and in the place the staff of Herz cancelled the booking, and asked me to contact RentalCars to reimburse the money. I did contact the company but they didn't return the money and I lots more the 100 euros.
The sencond rent was in Berlin with Global. When I arrived there the car I rented was not available and it was necessary to pay an upgrade for the "better" car that was there.
It is totally frustating since the RentalCar does not communicate properly with the companies and you are left by yourself when arriving a new country.

I have made a car reservation for 8 days in Kos Airport, Greece. I made the booking at rentalcars.com. We received extremely poor service from the company Greenmotion there. I am most annoyed that I wasted a morning (and half a day of my vacation) arguing with the man at the front desk.
At Greenmotion desk office in Kos island was an extremely rude man who did not gave us neither a refund of the 127euros for a car we have paid online but didn't get, but also when we told him that we will rend another car for 160 euros but we will write a letter to the company about his indescribable behavior he said that he would give us the car with 15 euros/a day but since we will inform the company, we would get it with 20 euros a day!. I find this unacceptable and impolite for any customer. As the most unacceptable behavior i have ever seen was your employ, he completely ruined our vacation and showed us how impolite and rude people can be just to make profit.
After that we tried to reach rentalcars but their phone was out of reach. So we wrote an email in order to help us with our situtation, but after they took the money they replied that they can not help. I was waiting at least to provide us some information about similar incidents. But no help at all. And of course no refund for the car we booked from their site but never get. So we paid at the desk office for another car.
Minus 100 stars if possible.

I have used Rentalcar services several times and was generally satisfied with this service. But in the last year and a half, I have had two big problems with cars ordered through Rentalcar.
A year ago, in Australia, during a PickUp, it suddenly became clear that I could not enter Tasmania with the booked car. But when ordering, there was no question of Tasmania and where I intend to travel in Australia. As a result, I had to order a car for Tasmania separately and I paid an additional $ 250. True, after that, Rentalcar promised me a discount on the next order.
And so I made the next order in the USA. I received a voucher and a price of 700 USD for 2 weeks. After that I called Rentalcar and asked how I can get a discount. A company representative told me that I didn't place the order correctly, as I am not a USA resident, and they gave me the price as a USA resident. I asked them to correct the error and give me a price after the discount. They gave. 1000 USD. Please note that when ordering on the Rentalcar website there is no question about the residence. I told them about it. I received a response of representative that the computer's IP is detected automatically. Then I told them that their system was not working properly, because at the time of the order I was at home in Israel. And they told me that their system is correct and not wrong. In general, I spent a lot of time in correspondence with this company and realized that they were completely not interested in clients. I will not use this service anymore.

In their rental contracts, Rentalcars has a fine print that says something like "you can get partial refund if you cancel your rental up to the time your contract starts". This is exactly what i tried to do. Phoned them several time right in front of the rental agent. Nobody answering from rentalcars, just prerecordings looping and then a voice saying the office is closed and hanging. When i managed to contact them the day after i was told it was too late and all my money was lost. This is not how one treats costumers! To me this is dishonest behavior tantamount to scam. Too bad, I have been a faithful (and satisfied) rentalcars costumer for 10+ years. Will never use it again. STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ANYBODY FROM BOOKING ON THIS PORTAL!

I booked Rentalcars.com and received a prepaid price of 110 USD. When we arrived at Frankfurt Airport, we were told by the Hertz/Dollar agency that we had to pay an additional 294 Euros or 329 USD for mandatory insurance coverage. We of course could not accept these charges and asked the agent to contact customer service. She explained that this was indeed the new rate after speaking to you on the phone. My wife and I had no choice but to refuse the added charge and then asked how much a new contract would be at the airport for the same vehicle. The agent said 175Euros for a new booking. We chose to cancel the first booking and start fresh given the situation. The Hertz/ Dollar agent spoke to someone on the phone and said we would be charged an additional 75$ USD for the cancellation of the first booking. We cannot express how disappointed we feel about our experience with the company. We now must pay 75$ USD for the cancellation and also 175 Euro for the rental. This is hugely over our travel budget for this short 4 day trip. Our request would be to waive the cancellation fee in addition to honouring the original price of the deal at 101 USD instead of 175 EURO.
Note: 3 weeks after the rip Rentalcars.com refunded the original deal booking due to the screwup but did not provide relief for the 175 Euro outcome as requested. Never again.

We booked and paid in advance through Rental Car for a one week rental with Hertz at the Montreal airport yesterday. When we arrived -after a long trip- at the rental agency, it was totally chaotic at the Hertz/Thrifty desk with a waiting line of at least one hour to meet the person at the desk and then another two hours to wait for an available car. We waited in the line and after an hour, we decided that we couldn't wait any longer in this suffocating environment with our cat with us in his carrier, we booked with another agency. When we arrived at the hotel, we contacted Rental Car through their chat to cancel our booking which was not fulfilled in a professional manner and acceptable time. The representative of Rental Car kept repeating that because we were 30 minutes delayed (25 minutes delayed yesterday because of the UK air traffic control disruption) and we didn't called to prevent the rental agency (nobody answered the phone) we did not respect our part of the contract, even though with the huge crowd waiting at the desk it was impossible for anybody to be at the desk on the specified time, It's totally crazy. We were so far regular clients with Rental Car, never again with this very bad experience.

ONE OF THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICES I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED
I had a problem with a receipt and customer services CHAT was not able to send it to me, so 3 people PRETENDED to have sent that receipt to me via email and ending the chat before I could tell them I had not received that email.
SOOO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!
This unbelievable and unacceptable. I will NEVER use this company again in my life.
Also, The Italian company they work with could not provide the car that I was meant to peak up, so instead of a SMART 4x4, they gave me a JEEP RENEGADE.

Booked a car through RentalCars.com that included a $600, oneway dropoff fee since we were picking it up in Lefkada and dropping off in Athens. When we arrived at the airport, the line was about 15 people long, the counter was chaos and not a single person in line was processed in the 30 minutes we stood there waiting. Since we had to catch a ferry, and other rental companies were wide-open, I rented a car from Hertz. I immediately emailed RentalCars.com to inform them we could not pick up the car and ask for a refund. They refused, saying i had not followed their terms and conditions. The fact that my car was not available when i was supposed to pick it up makes that unfair. However, even if I could choke that down, the fact that they also refused to refund my one-way fee for a car that I never took anywhere and, therefore, did not incur any one-way delivery or recovery costs is just STEALING! This company is rotten, and every review I have read since makes it clear that is how they operate. Buyer beware! You will NOT get what you paid for (and possibly not get anything at all, like I did).

Never rent with this company! It is unreliable and not looking for long term sustainable business and not for customer satisfaction. Their insurance is not covering by far even if Rentalcars sells it as full insurance. Their customer service is extremely dissatisfactory only reacts in an automated way, indicating that they are right and can do nothing about the situation. Renting with Rentalcars has given me so much trouble, I couldn't receive the car, the insurance was not covering, a huge deposit of 2000 Euro is required. Most banks or credit card companies even don't have this deposit limit, so this is already a sign of non customer oriented company. Full of negative surprises. Apparently rental cars only cares about receiving money without providing the service. My advise is just rent with the large sustainable companies like hertz, sixth, Alamo etc, it looks more expensive but it isn't. I was attracted by Rentalcars price, but I ended up more expensive, scammed and had to pay additional fees to have a decent insurance and to receive the car. I missed the negative reviews before renting, reading them now I can't get how this company can still exist. Such companies are not in for a business mission to serve customers and society, but only to cash the money and not provide the agreed service. Very selfish and short term thinking. My advise and warning: be careful with this company and better to NEVER deal with company.
