I have camped in a few states using ReserveAmerica. I have been extremely satisfied...I check out the sites and their maps to see where I want to be and check what is available...I will be reserving for summer 23 very soon. This sure beats the old days with first come first serve and never knowing if there would be a good site left. Love this ap...
Why is it that at every State Park I have visited supervisors and employees say they do not like, Did NOT want, and would love to rid the system of "Reserve America" taking control of reservations. All say things ran smoother when each individual State Park had complete control of their individual park. So, to me I ask Who is really in control here? Another political corrupt system? System stinks! In more ways than one!

I wanted to change my site at campground. Found out I couldn't because I already reserved the site I was in. Can't change sites unless you do it before you arrive?what kind of crap is that? I couldn't even cancel my reservation and return to campground! I was stuck in my site regardless what I did! Reserve America sucks! Campground no help either!
Reserve America has a written policy for equestrian campers that if trails are closed by the state park the day before or day of your reservation, you can change your reservation to a different date or location and the 4 day advance notice will be waived. This happened to us over the 4th of July weekend. When I attempted to change online, it wouldn't let me. After several attempts through phone contact, I was told they couldn't make the change either. So rather than have them cancel and rebook with charges as they suggested, I canceled on line. This cost me 2 nights camping fees and the cancelation charge. Very disappointed in this service.
I booked a campsite through the website at Shelter Cove in Oregon. The picture of the campsite was not real. Maybe one of the campsites looked like that, but not the one I booked EVEN THOUGH THAT WAS THE PICTURE SHOWN! Instead, we got a spot with 6' between us and our neighbors on both side. Not happy with this invalid information.
This must be a website designed by it peoples.
Everything is bad about it. Very user unfriendly, reacts very bad, cannot change existing (after more than a hour) bookings. Bad, bad bad
Very poor customer service could care less about the customer and they do things that are not legal. Maybe a class action at some point.
The website is just awful. Horrible UI, hardly anything is intuitive. Customer service is entirely unhelpful and disappointing.
RA expects you to read 8 paragraphs of footnote "policies" or you're SOL when changing or cancelling a reservation. I'm out hundreds of dollars due to their deceitful practices and will be disputing the charge on my credit card. Absolutely ridiculous.
The campground my family has frequented for 30+ years is hosted on this godforsaken website, so we're forced to continue giving them our money. I really wish OR state parks would use something else. They're truly out to take as much money from you as possible. Scumbags.
EDIT: Thankfully, I was refunded most of my money as a "one time courtesy" through the OR Parks and Recreation Department.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use Reserve America if you can help it.
Very disappointed by the maintenance. The grass/clover has not been mowed this year. It was up to our knees. Camp sites were not maintained to standards as in previous years. We pay for what? State can't afford 3 gallons of gas y to o mow?
I booked a campground site, not realizing that Florida State parks uses ReserveAmerica for payment instead of simply charging customers directly. A month later I was charged $90 for a membership to a junky discount website called Active Advantage. They automatically had my card information, though I never registered any information with this website. I had to call the bank and get a new card so they cannot "renew" my membership or charge me further surprise fees. Tricking people into signing up for useless memberships when they are booking family activities? Wow. I would expect so much more from Florida Parks.
I just read something from them that says they allow changes. This is a flat out lie. They have a link that indicates "changes" but no changes are allowed. If for example you wanted to change a cabin ten minutes after you booked it and it was for the same day, made two weeks in advance, these crooks will steal your money, taking one full day and then taxing you on nothing and also adding a cancellation fee when what you actually did was make a change even if it's to a more expensive cabin. To make matters worse your credit card won't stand behind you even if they follow their own rules that say you won't be charged if you received no good or service. In my case this was Discover Card but other CCs may be more honest than them. I will never do business with Reserve America and I won't be renting any more cabins in Nebraska either. As far far as I'm concerned they are all crooks.
We had to cancel two reserved sites days ahead of the scheduled date. They charged us 2/3's (only $25 of a $70 charge) of the total amount for a 2 day reservation. Buyer beware. If you use this site to get a campsite you better hope that your plans don't change.

Fees have increased (what, they have a computer and one guy working it!), and the ability to change FOR FREE has been removed, and now you pay for any changes. What a scam. Will try in every way possible to avoid this group. Used to be you could change a site or date with no cost, which was very useful. Now your stuck with whatever you reserved from the start.
One of the the WORST experiences while camping. The staff over policed and made you feel like you are a criminal for every little thing. They don't offer electricity so we got a generator. They told us the hours the generator can run which we abided by. They STILL harassed us every day about it. They did not allow us to do the baby fireworks on July 4th, threatened to kick us out. They told us we could not have our dogs in the RV while hiking up the waterfalls. Horrible management and staff. I felt like they were watching our every move. Do not camp here!
I tried calling but they are closed during hours the bot says they're open, and the 24/7 help page is broken. Can't reach anyone. I'm trying to reserve a site that is open year round but reserve america shows they are closed year round.
Beware if you cancel, they do not honor their own stated refund policy. First they will make you wait 3 months for a refund by check then you will find yourself calling them several times to track down the check that they finally supposedly mailed but you never receive.
ABSOLUTE worst customer service. I have requested help on numerous occasions. Was always given the standard response that I would be contacted within 48 hours to assist in resolving my issue. AND never received any response or even so much as an email, text or voice call! It's no wonder your company only has a customer satisfaction survey of 1.13!
Sites cost $20,2 night stay comes out to $70 with $30 in fees from Reserve America. We encountered a camper in our spot, they said there's nothing that can done on their end. We had to cancel once and only received about 10% of our total payment. This is an absolute scam and monopoly. It's very sad.
So - we are avid RV campers. We have been in 33 states camping and camp at least 28 weekends a year. We will avoid every single state and park that utilizes Reserve America. We had an accident and we're not able to keep our reservations at 2 Florida state parks. The charge was $24.95 for each cancellation! How is this reasonable or fair! This is more than the cost of one night! When I called to complain, the lady pretty much told me "too bad, it's or policy and you consent to paying that fee at reservation time. :)
These people are pure evil. I'm a software architect, and I'm pretty good. I could spin up an application that did the same thing better, by myself, including all necessary data hooks and transformations within 6 months from the ground up. Now some fat, corporate middle-man, who got this contract because he knew someone and the bid was tailored to his company is sitting back and getting fatter off good people making use of the best thing this country has ever done. Burn it to the ground. This corruption is everywhere. You should be freaking MAD.
Rude, ripped off by being 20 minutes past 24 hr deadline to cancel waiting trying to get through took 4 calls after being disconnected. Charged $9, guy was very rude.
Colorado can do better than this horrible rated company!
After 2 hours on the phone with them simply reserving a campsite, they lost my reservation in the ridiculously long process. Then rented it out from under me trying to recover it and had no other options available. I basically wasted 2 hours of my life for nothing.
As of their new site update I can't access the site through the Safari browser. If I go in through Google I'm fine. Also the campground map for available sites is no longer the same. Did want show what's available on chosen dates.
Worst update I have seen! It's terrible!
Been to two state parks in NY for 2021 ( Rollins Pond and Buck Pond in northern NY) and thought our reservations were quite early in the season. As we attempted to locate multiple sites we noticed how booked the campsites were. During both of our trips that campsites were more than 50% empty with very few filling in the following night. Now it was nice having less traffic, it wasn't nice seeing sites get "booked" and continue to be vacant for that time. Others have also noticed this trend of "Booked" but Vacant sites. What is going on and who is responsible and what is Reserve America doing about it? Do we call Reserve America to confirm a site was "booked" or the Camp ground we plan to visit?
I've used them for the past 5 years and never had a problem with them. I've also never had to cancel.
ReserveAmerica is the largest provider of campsite reservations in North America facilitating millions of transactions every year. ReserveAmerica is also a leading provider of campground management tools to government and private campground operator...
