Revolut Reviews Summary

The company's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to persistent issues with its app functionality and severe lapses in customer service. Many users report unauthorized charges, unresponsive support, and account closures without clear explanations, leading to a sense of mistrust. While some customers appreciate the ease of use and transparent fees, these positives are overshadowed by widespread complaints about the company's handling of disputes and refunds. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for improved customer support and a more reliable banking experience to restore trust among users.

This platform is a prime example of poor service and unprofessionalism. They seem more interested in taking your hard-earned money than in actually providing support. I regret not researching them more thoroughly beforehand. I ended up losing $45,500 in just one month. Thankfully, I filed a complaint with BRIDGERECLAIM,

Their "live agents" for Cryptocurrencies have no basic understanding of cryptocurrencies. They don't understand jack $#*! and if you're not satisfied with their stupid copy/paste monkey answers... well, they label all your crypto addresses for MONEY LAUNDERING at Union chain / Pyth network. So your Crypto addresses are automaticly suspicious for every other Crypto service.

Customer service just keeps stalling in the attempt to allocate a transfer. Keeps closing tickets & switching reps to avoid further escalation. Usual time spent in customer service chat >2h before service rep actually checks for an update. No proactive communication. Avoid under any circumstance!

If you're considering Revolut, please think twice. Revolut has been named by BBC Panorama (2024) as one of the biggest targets for fraud and scams among major banking apps.
The BBC investigation revealed that over 40% of fraud linked to digital banks involved Revolut — significantly higher than major banks like Barclays or HSBC. Here's why Revolut has become a scammer's dream: * Revolut heavily relies on 3D Secure (3DS) authentication, but refuses to properly investigate fraud cases even when customers report deception or manipulation.
* When fraud occurs, Revolut misuses 3DS as an excuse not to reimburse victims — despite their legal obligations under UK Payment Services Regulations 2017.
* Complaints processes are broken — the in-app complaint link was non-functional, and escalation was impossible without formally filing with the Financial Ombudsman and FCA.
* Account freezes without notice: after reporting fraud, Revolut froze our account and cards without providing any formal explanation or timeline for access. Our personal experience:
* We lost nearly £6,000 after a scammer impersonating Revolut Business Support manipulated us into approving payments under false pretences.
* We reported the fraud to Revolut within 20 minutes.
* Revolut refused to investigate properly, citing 3DS authentication, despite clear evidence of deception.
* Both merchants involved confirmed they were willing to refund — Revolut ignored this.
* We had to escalate the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service and report Revolut to the FCA (Case Ref: *******) just to get the case properly reviewed. The bottom line? 🔴 Revolut does not adequately protect its customers.
When you need help the most — after being scammed — they leave you fighting alone. Just Google Revolut and scams…. Be extremely cautious.
For serious banking needs, especially business accounts, Revolut simply does not meet the minimum standards expected under UK financial regulation or basic customer care. Disclaimer:
This review reflects my genuine personal experience and honest opinion based on documented evidence, including support correspondence, transaction records, merchant communications, and public reporting (BBC Panorama, 2024). All statements are made in good faith and supported by contemporaneous records. FCA Case Reference: *******. Financial Ombudsman Complaint filed.

🚨 WARNING: Revolut Allows UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES & REFUSES Refunds – A GLOBAL SCAM

I have been a Revolut customer for years, even paying for their Ultra plan (€540/year). But when Revolut allowed UNAUTHORIZED charges on my account, they refused to investigate and denied my chargeback within HOURS—proving they are running a financial scam.

📌 How Revolut Scams Customers:

Processes unauthorized transactions, even when there's "Insufficient Balance."
Denies chargebacks instantly with NO real investigation.
Refuses to respond to complaints or provide a real resolution.
Uses jurisdiction loopholes to avoid refunding customers.
Ignores regulators across the USA, UK, EU, and Lithuania.

📌 The Scam in My Case:

🚨 August 21 & 23,2024: Revolut ALLOWED UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES from Avis Rent-a-Car, despite my account having insufficient funds.
🚨 August 30,2024: I disputed the charges. Revolut denied my chargeback on the same day—without reviewing the case.
🚨 January 2025: Revolut changed their excuse, falsely claiming the chargeback deadline had expired.
🚨 February 2025: After escalating to multiple regulators, Revolut is STILL refusing to take responsibility.

🚨 I Complained to EVERY Authority – Revolut is PROTECTED by Jurisdiction Scams!

I have escalated my case to the following regulatory agencies and consumer protection bodies across multiple jurisdictions:

USA:
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) – [Filed]
New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) – [Filed]
Better Business Bureau (BBB) – [Filed]
U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) – [Filed]
U.S. Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) – [Filed]

United Kingdom:
UK Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) – Denied jurisdiction due to Revolut's loopholes

European Union:
European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net) – [Filed]
European Commission Consumer Protection Office – [Filed]
European Ombudsman – [Filed]
European Central Bank (ECB) – Financial Misconduct Reporting – [Filed]
European Parliament Petitions Committee (PETI) – [Filed]

Lithuania (Revolut's regulator):
Bank of Lithuania – BLOCKED my complaint with technicalities & ignored it I followed all submission guidelines and provided every required document.
I SIGNED my complaint electronically—but they claimed my signature was "not valid" without explaining why.
When I re-submitted the complaint with a physical signature, they rejected it AGAIN for another so-called technicality.
They are clearly making up obstacles to PROTECT Revolut instead of enforcing consumer protection laws.

🚨 Revolut's Playbook for Scamming Customers:

1 Register in Lithuania so the UK Financial Ombudsman and EU regulators can't touch them.
2 Operate in the USA & UK but claim "no jurisdiction" when you file a complaint.
3 Take customers' money, refuse refunds, and deny chargebacks without investigation.
4 Ignore every regulatory body, counting on people giving up.

🚨 If you bank with Revolut, BE WARNED: When they steal your money, you will have NO legal protection.

I will continue exposing this financial scam through all legal and media channels. If you've also been scammed by Revolut, FILE COMPLAINTS & SHARE YOUR STORY.

$#*!S
February 5, 2025

My money has been stripped off my account from trading. Reached out to the customer service and they were unprofessionally and kept assuring with no positive feedback on my funds. I went on a personal voyage of researching and came across t.r.u.s.t.r.e.c.l.a.i.m.com

Trustreclaim furthered investigation and recovered a significant portion of my money that was stalled for months. You should try t.r.u.s.t.r.e.c.l.a.i.m.com for a more professional and empathetic customer service with profound expertise on recovering stolen money.

I lost thirty four thousand pounds with revolut and over 2100 people since last December have lost £34 Million with them and they have rejected every single one of those claims in luding mine. So if you want to make sure your money is safe a kid using this bank and that is from personal experience. They don't care about their customers they just want to make money at any cost. Your money isn't safe with them and their systems can be easily manipulated.

Their systems are not safe and I am gob smacked that those idiots in the UK have granted them a banking licence. A guy who took £1500 of me showed me on my computer that he had recovered one hundred and twenty five thousand pounds from the USA and that figure was showing in my account balance as he manipulated their systems. In one hour and I personally contacted revolut to see if my money was there that was showing on my computer and they said no. Avoid like the plague they are useless.

I have been using it for over 5 years and like that it is easy to use, transparent fees, trading options and instant transfers for small services (baby sitter, piano classes tutor etc) Travelling is easy due to money exchange and cash withdrawal.

The CEO of Revolut. Francesca Carlesi. As you know I have been scammed by your client Neil G Van Luven who had previously scammed others utilising his Revolut account. Despite a multitude of communication with Revolut over this matter, your bank refused to assist any further and said the matter was closed all via your chat bot!. Since we had also alerted the FCA and Action fraud and discovered that, prior to him scamming me, he has also scammed another for hundreds of thousands which involved the Metropolitan Police.

All of this is on record but, with his background and conduct, Revolut has a responsibility to compensate when this happens, especially since he had previous form. I was told that you employ another independent entity to try to recover the funds but that they had already been sent on! This is clearly unacceptable and, whilst not wanting to go to the banking ombudsman, I feel that this is the only avenue left open to me unless you, as the new captain at the helm so to speak, are willing to try to do something about this.

With your name at the forefront as CEO of Revolut I have never even had the courtesy of a phone call from anyone and, whilst I appreciate you are an online bank, there are surely times such as these circumstances where that human element is vital!

Utterly dishonest
April 4, 2024

Revolut simply stole my money. Closed my account without explanation. Hence no access to online customer service. No telephone number to call. Hence no one to talk too. How the regulator and the government can let these crooks still operate is beyond my comprehension.

Avoid Revolut at all costs.

Ebay is Abysmal
March 31, 2024

Went through the trouble of setting up the account and when I changed the BILLING ADDRESS from Scotland to North Carolina I got an email telling me I've been blocked permanently because I'm a THREAT to the customers. This is extraordinarily stupid. That's my billing address. Scotland is my 2nd home address. There are options you would think fir billing and shipping? Verdict: D.O.A. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Deactivate Accounts
March 29, 2024

Recently I had a very terrible experience although I was a 3 year customer of this Digital Bank. After I was talking about Solana Crypto Currency in their chat through the app, they put,out of the sudden, my account under investigation to see the problem and a few hours later they decided to close my account without any reason at all.! I was asking them to tell me the reason to see where was the problem and they only reply that it was their right to do so, and they did it.I still do not know the reason of closing my account permanently and I made a dispute to their Bank to tell me why they have proceeded to such a action. I got no response but they clarified the above..."that they have the right to do so". I tried to reach them through their chat after a few days ago and asked them to reopen the account but they refused because I was already black listed under their policy.
I really do not know what agreement I have violated because they did not say...! They did not even warn me to correct my mistake if there was any...!
Of course after this I understand that this kind of a service is very unreliable and not trustworthy at all. So please be careful who you trust.

When my 300 Euro ATM withdrawal chargeback was rejected in error, Revolut unilaterally closed my case and refused to help, despite the proof provided by the merchant clearly stating that the transaction was cancelled, the payment rejected and a ticket being printed from the ATM stating transaction cancelled. Revolut refused to appeal the rejection decision by VISA and refused to remove the charge from my card

Well, it's really sad to say that Revolut isn't as good as everyone say, I do understand that if you tu use it just to pay a bill etc you may be happy with it but it all changes when you having bigger amounts transferred to this "bank"… they have just lost over £9000 which has been paid to me and now they are giving me a £100 for the hassle! That's joke! They advertise themselves as a secured place to keep you crypto, well we have trusted them and now we have lost all those money. So please if you are a trader or person which keeps crypto DO NOT USE them as they can easy loose your money! They aren't protected despite what they say.

Customer service is generic, nothing gets done outside their tiny job description. They will not address your issues with supervisors, nor escalate your good inputs to Executive management, as if we are not smart enough to make good suggestions. I started out paying nothing for a $1,000 dollar transfer, it then went to $2.50 per, the in 3 months to $5.00 per thousand. They charge me £7.85 for every other conversion from dollars to pounds and $16.99 a month for the card, raking in about 65 to 70 dollars a month from my use of the REVOLUT CARD. Now I can not use my REVOLUT card in certain places in Scotland because the business says, we no longer take that card. When I wrote to *******@revolut.com to address the issue with my suggestion that they address this with the business, they treated me, the PAYING CUSTOMER like an idiot, and were fake, or in a disingenuous
Fashion, condescending to me in a way that suggest they COULD CARE LESS ABOUT MY CONCERNS. Official reaction - Revolut - not recommended. They are DOA. This is my experience. This is my opinion. I have been using Revolut for over 2 years.

Their app is good, so please use them for very small amounts, i.e. If you have a trip abroad and need to pay something using the one-off card system for example, or maybe some currency transactions, they are good for that.

However, NEVER deposit large amounts with these people, they will do ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING THEY CAN to keep hold of your money for as long as possible when you want to withdraw. Things can go well but there will be moments when you will curse the day you have made a transfer or used Revolut. Their customer service is absolutely useless (I mean the chat system) as they will on most occasions not be able to help: they will be saying " computer says no!" and that will be it. If you find yourself in an urgent situation where you really need the funds and there is an issue with Revolut you can forget about it, they will not help, nor try to do anything about it.

In conclusion, they are OK for small transactions, a few hundred here and there, BUT NEVER make them your main account, NOR use them to buy shares or cryptocurrencies. They do have a good app BUT that is it, nothing else behind to back it up with proper customer service. So, if you want to know how financial Wild West feels, go ahead and use them.

Avoid using Revolut at all costs!

They advertise as being a crypto friendly bank, but whilst making a small transfer of £2000 to the reputable, well established, crypto exchange Kraken, my account was restricted.

I searched the Internet for a phone number to contact Revolut, and there are no phone numbers available that lead to speaking with a human! So I contacted them via App Support where I spent literally 4 hours being pushed around various departments, communicating with 6 different people, jumping through all kinds of hoops, only to have no resolution at the end of if all! I still have no access to my own money.

Furthermore whilst on App Support with Revolut I received a discerning, assume fraudulent phone call, asking me to transfer all the money I held in my Revolut account to cover a Visa payment that I'd not made!

Revolut's customer service is terrible and I believe the whole company to be a scam.
