This site is a Google SEO hack. You have tonnes and tonnes of articles about a movie claiming to explain every aspect of it repeatedly it. In reality all you have is a blog by hired freelancers who stuff keywords throughout the article. Not your site if your a real movie lover.

As has been stated by others before me, the articles are incredibly repetitive and just not written in a way that makes them at all entertaining to read which is kind of a fatal flaw for a fun news and think pieces site about pop culture.
This lack of quality combined with the fact they're rarely actually saying anything or stating concrete facts AND the fact there's so, so many articles and some writers have allegedly written thousands of them in a couple of years makes me suspect they only write a sentence or two and let some ai generate the rest. It could also be the plagiarism others have pointed to. Maybe it's both, ai is known to plagiarise after all. Tho I wouldn't put it past them to also do it on purpose.
And if they aren't using ai I'm guessing they're forcing these writers to write x amount of articles each day to get paid so they're forced to churn out soulless mush. Which, for the record, isn't better.

I have never in my life seen so many articles that are just the same few sentences repeated dozens of times but paraphrased slightly different each time. You get the first paragraph where they basically talk about the subject but they are very vague and they beat around the bush to kill time. Then the next paragraph says exactly the same thing but with slightly different phrasing. Then the next paragraph does precisely the same thing only in a much worse way. Then the fourth paragraph is usually almost identical to the first or second paragraph, on and on it goes. This website really needs to hire some legit writers if they care at all about the terrible quality of their current writers' entries and they want to be known for more than just a place to go if you want to be driven up a wall with a horribly written article.

This is one of the most inconsistent and illogical movie sites ever. They have entire articles based on fan art and make it seem like it's legit movie news or "what if articles". Numerous headlines that have nothing to do with the subject at hand and articles that constantly contradict previous ones. Most egregious is most of the writers have no idea what they are talking about. The epitome of fake fans, all just for clicks

Every ScreenRant "article", if you can call them that, I have every read is either wrong or at least badly thought-out, esp. When it comes to Marvel/DC. "Marvel reveals real reason behind..." - Marvel didn't "reveal" anything, they published a story, sometimes decades ago, and ScreenRant drums up some story about it as if it breaking news. Just poor content, which is why I now avoid. Maybe if we ignore them, the site will die off. Here's hoping.

Screenrant is honestly awful

Their articles are biased, clickbait, or, most of the time for me, they talk about things that people already know and claim it's new.

If an article pops up on my google saying something like "animal crossing player discovers thing everyone knew on day one", I know, without having to even look, that it's a screenrant article.

After I watch a move or show, or play a video game, I have an opinion on it. Then I listen or read other opinions on it so I can understand more about it, and possibly enjoy the material more than I did before. So sometimes, when screenrant articles get recommended to me, I click it. And every time, it's abundantly clear the writer clearly hasn't even watched the show. It's either extremely lukewarm if they're praising it, or it's actively upsetting if they're criticizing something you love based on a wikipedia summary. As far as I can tell, this isn't the writers' fault, because they're given unreasonable deadlines, and really it's the company's job to vet their writers anyway.

So I'm saying that if your mood can be affected by infuriating articles, do yourself a favour and just block this site. If you're looking for a place with "fun" reviews, there's just so much better options out there.

This site used to be decent, now it's nothing more than "click bait" and "bigotry"... if anyone dares to post a comment opposing their special "hitler" like train of thinking than they delete their comments or in some cases just close the whole conversation down... figure anything they post now is pure biased crap.

Others have commented on the website, so I don't think that needs more attention. However, I applied to work there as a guide writer, and the hiring practices are just as bad as the content.

First, the pay is almost non-existent: $21 for a feature article, which should be a day's work for someone putting in the effort. Second, the application is long (it took me six hours), and it's apparent that they are farming ideas for their website - there was a section for pitching stories on an application to be a guide writer. It made no sense until they gave me a quick rejection, informing me that they didn't have time to offer feedback. There had been mention of training if the application was accepted, but after looking at the site more closely, I can't imagine what that training would look like. They want people who will churn out clickbait for almost no money, not writers.

Screenrant is rotten to the core. Steer clear.

Why don't they put up spoiler alerts? Spoiled numerous occurrences in a series for me with no warning! How dumb can they be? How do these writers not know what a spoiler alert is? I'll never use their site again no matter how much work they put into it based on this alone. If you care at all about not knowing what happens before you watch something, stay far away.

Screen Rant is the tabloid version of the newspaper world. They make up tantalizing stories to attract visitors. High visitor counts mean more views for advertisers who pay to be on their worthless site. Make it up as they go, with no real content that has been verified, by anyone of substance. Weak reporting by possible newspaper columnist rejects.

This isn't a place for breaking movie news or long-form journalism. What it is, is a passionate and active fan community. The "SR Originals" are my favorite. The writers on this site often find ways to write about shows and movies from angles I never thought of.

SR only publishes mediocre articles based on old news and/or simply reprints other sources in a repetitive fashion. It has virtually no original content, no fact checking or proofreading. Why, exactly, Google considers it a reliable "news" source is a mystery.

They mistook jokes as actual bullying when it's not. Friends joke around with each other and tease one another. If you don't do that with your friends, you guys probably are just acquaintances at best.

They make up lies to fit their perspective, or blatantly ignore facts that would prove their statement wrong, which is pretty much the same as lying. They're pathetically ignorant, yet they act like they have actual Intelligence on the matter

Every article I've ever clicked on has taken forever to load because there's so many stupid ads, and once it does load it turns out to be written by someone who hasn't even watched the media they claim to be writing about. They'll point out "plot holes" that are answered within the same episode they are reviewing, or treat wild fan theory and fanon as legitimate storylines in canon. I mean I'll read an article on a site that supports itself by ads, but not a site that can't be bothered to actually make sure the stories are accurate and not just random fans trying to force their fanfiction on everyone else as canon, or stories that are written by someone who watched half of one episode of a 8+ season show and then has an opinion they feel they should get paid to share.

Non factual and bulls*it. Also adwall every chance they get. They're an internet company bent on spreading misinformation and clickbait stories.

Too obsessed with their social score and woke agendas to give an honest review. Spammy and too into politics and propaganda.

Absolutely click bait trash. Can not believe anyone gets paid to put this garbage out. The Office reboot April fools prank click bait nonsense popping up on my google feed was the last straw. I purposely sought out a website to review the shenanigans after that. Is there a way to permanently ban a website from your device like that device in that black mirror episode that blurs blocked people out?

The epitome of fake fans, all just for clicks. When I want to read late-breaking movie news, Comics, I'll visit the likelihood sites like Variety or Hollywood Reporter. However, when I want something funny, I go to ScreenRant. A lot of people hate lists and fun articles, and that is fine, but I would prefer fun stuff to endless regurgitation of the same stories over and over again. For people who hate fun, there is always Deadline (what I love too). For people who love to read fun stuff about movies and TV, ScreenRant is well worth for the follow...

The best thing about Screen Rant is the diversity of opinions that the site has on a regular basis, which means that you get a lot of different POVs on the site. They also cover several shows/comics/movies that don't get any attention from other websites. I feel like every site can be criticized for valid things, but I see many people hating on Screen Rant (and on similar sites) because they read this or that opinion that they really hate. However, if you actually look on the site, there's usually another article written from someone else who feels differently and provides other POVs. As a fan, I love seeing my favorite things being talked about, and I love having my assumptions challenged by diverse opinions. I really like the site and it's a shame that it gets trashed on by fans who want to live inside an echo chamber.

Screen Rant is always up to date with their reality tv news and provides an interesting angle on topics. I'll always use their website for entertainment news!

Unlike many other sites, they keep their content updated. Loved reading their in-depth news stories... Keep up the good work! Cheers!
