Got the appointment with ease. Received confirmation of appointment. Shane arrived exactly on time and knew exactly how to repair our Bosch dishwasher. Very courteous and efficient. Would recommend Sears Home Services. Gave some good advice to use pods instead of liquid and mid range Bosch dishwashers have excellent quality. This company has really got its act together!
As of today I have been without a working refrigerator for three months. The Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was renewed for this appliance along with a dishwasher on May 7,2024 at a cost of $1,243.59 for three years. The refrigerator compressor failed on June 21 and Sears said no appointments were available until July 16. On July 16 the tech arrived to verify that a compressor was needed. Sears ordered the parts and scheduled repair for August 13. One part was then reported as delayed (but when I checked Amazon it was available for same-day delivery) and Sears pushed the repair back one week to August 20. Even though all parts had arrived on August 20 the tech didn't show up. After finally reaching an actual person at Sears they, without explanation or apology, stated that no tech could come until September 17. Three months without a refrigerator covered by an expensive service agreement. All their customers have similar stories. EDIT -- Here's an update on my review. Finally, on September 17,2024 the refrigerator covered by the Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was repaired. That's 3 months after the first attempt to get it fixed. The reason why it takes so long is that Sears will automatically make you wait three weeks before they will send any tech to your home. They are hoping you will become so desperate that you replace the appliance at your own expense rather than wait for them. Look elsewhere for a Home Repair service. Do not pay Sears for any service contract.
Dryer repair: the technician quickly assessed the belt had come off the barrel that moves the clothes around. Belt was not broken - just popped off. He put it back on and I was charged $255 for 15 minutes worth of work. Ridiculous!
Sadly I paid for a service then when I wanted to use it, they wanted me to call Samsung because half of the washer was still covered and the other 1/2 was not. What is a warranty service if I have to coordinate everything. So we cancelled our service after 5 years only used once. Just not worth it.
Sears was the 3rd party company through Choice Home Warranty to repair my washing machine. It took three weeks for parts. One of which was unnecessary. Then Sears didn't show up for appointment. They give themselves a 9 hour window, no updates, can't speak to a live person. They then reschedule me for the next day and don't show up again! Two days I took from work for nothing! Total sham!
A complete waste of time and money. The technician came out and checked the temperature on the outside of the unit, then checked the temperature on the wall next to unit, came in-house checked the temp of intake and outage vents. That's it... I knew it was working but wanted a technician to go into the unit and check to see if everything was cleaned and working properly. That's not what happened. Then to add insult to injury they failed to credit my coupon for discount, charging me the full price of $129.99 for absolutely nothing. Now I need to schedule another company to come out and do the job correctly. Don't waste your money!
Sears Home Services failed to show up during a scheduled 4 hour appointment window. They claimed the technician was running late but he made no attempt to contact me. They gave me no priority in scheduling a new appointment even though they knew my Refrigerator compressor failed and food was spoiling.
I must start by saying they do have really good technicians. But when it comes down to customer service the head manager who oversees Honolulu. Dont give a rats $#*!. The technicians deserve more pay. They have a terrible training program. 5 technicians have left within 5 months...
After waiting six weeks due to receiving ordered parts that arrived broken, the Sears Rep finally showed up today.
Our excitement was short-lived, as the service rep explained our washer is unfixable.
Before he arrived are washer was working poorly, but it was working. Now, it does not. Please see the pictures; the service rep left our washer in pieces. He did not have the common sense to return it to us; in the same manner, he found it.
I have to wait 48 hours to receive a refund for parts; they will keep the original $109 for the diagnose, and completely broke my washer.
To make matters worst, it is impossible to connect with a real person, as you only have the option to speak with the automated service.
I don't recommend anyone use Sears, save yourself the aggravation.
Don't let Sears have the upper hand here, fight back! Hold them accountable! Either retain a consumer (lemon law) attorney or do it yourself, it is surprisingly rather easy. Sears will not show to small claims because attorneys are not allowed (and they wouldn't waste their time), they will settle with you. I purchased a Kenmore Elite less than two years ago and like everyone else the compressor has failed. Sears Home Services has now cancelled a total of seven appointments, Im going to be forced to shell out of my own pocket for a new compressor that is still under warranty. There is a class action lawsuit, please look it up and get in touch with the law firm. I truly hope everyone reading this will consider filing a lawsuit.
Do yourself a favor and don't use them. First of all, the earliest appointment we were able to get for refrigerator repair was two weeks out. On the day of, we had an 8-12 schedule time. By 11:30 we still hadn't heard anything, so we called them. It was difficult navigating the automated phone system, but we eventually got a person. Unfortunately, she was not very friendly or helpful. She informed us we had an appointment scheduled between 8-12. Thanks... I was aware. After clearing up some confusion on their end about our phone number, she told me the technician was running late and would be here closer to 1:00. Ok, fine. The final nail in the coffin came at 12:10 when we got a text notifying us that the appointment had been cancelled. That's right, after sitting around all morning with other things to do, they just CANCELLED our appointment on us!
I think I was scammed by Sears.
My dryer drum stopped working. 4 year old machine. Technician arrived 1.5 hour after my appointment window. Service cost was only $89. He spent 20 mins - removed a stuck sock (fell in through the filter); cleaned the bottom. I was super relieved that no parts were broken or needed replacement. But I still got charged over $300.
I was told, he had to input a 'code'. But there was no code. I got 1 amount under 'labor cost' for $302. I was given an option to join their super expensive 'warranty' program, which would've reduced my cost to $176; which I obviously declined.
Safe to say, I'll never call them again.
Purchased a Kenmore fridge that never worked. Scheduled repair with SearsHome Services. First repair person misdiagnosed the problem so second repairman ordered new parts. Parts are sent to our home but their system does not catch when they are delivered. Two no show appointments and six calls later we are returning the fridge. Worst experience ever.
Had an appt today. Anytime from 8-5 on schedule. Received email saying they will be here 2:30 to 3:56. No one arrived by 4:00 pm. Got online talked to agent... said they were running late but would be here today for sure. Website showed new arrival time of 6:24. After 2 hrs the website never updated. I received email stating today's appointment (freezer not working) was rescheduled 5 days from now! Needless to say, I will NEVER use this crappy business again!
I bought a very nice Kenmore refridge in 2016. We had many problems with it right away including the condenser going completely bad. I really think we got a lemon and they should have relaxed the refrigerator but said they had to come out 4 times to try and fix it. They only came 3. Now 6 years later and the refridge has stopped working. Apparently they didn't clear the lines and they are backed up along with a bad compressor. The compressor is covered under warranty. But I paid 99 bucks to have them tell me that it would cost $1720 to fix. That's just crazy! They do not stand by their product or previous work. I am disappointed a an expensive Kenmore Elite has to be replaced in 6 years.
We want to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your recent service experience. We will investigate this matter further to prevent it from happening again, and if you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
My Sears Kenmore Elite dishwasher is about to have it's 4th repair call. Top dishwasher rack alone is on it's 3rd repair. Serious design flaw. Sears Home Warranty services is a joke. Customer service is not in their vocabulary. I am currently sitting on hold and have been now for 65 minutes waiting for a "customer care advocate" only to find out they are the wrong people to talk to. How does one department not know who the right department is to manage warranty repairs! So beyond ridiculous. They cancelled today's appointment and now I have to wait to see if they can fit me today with another tech. Wasting my time. Please shop elsewhere do not use this company, they are a total rip off and a waste of your time.
Four hours late and still counting... typical of them. None of the 800 numbers they provided, or the chat room, could tell me where Mr. Hot Shot repair man is. Six hours later and I received no notification that they weren't coming or why. I wonder if there is a class action law suit that can be done to get our monies back and put them out of business once and for all.
I took time off work to meet a technician for repair of a refrigerator that wasn't cooling. The technician arrived late (I didn't need to leave work early based on the time he finally showed up). He spent about a half hour at my house, replaced a small part, and the next day the refrigerator was broken again, but this time worse than it had been before the technician came out because the electronic panel on the front outside no longer worked. I was charged a non-refundable $89 diagnostic fee, $75 for the part and $176 for labor. Do yourself a favor and hire someone else to look at your refrigerator. Many repair services will waive their "diagnostic" fee if you actually hire them to fix your appliance leaving only parts & labor.
I will never use this service again. I scheduled a maintenance appointment for my washer. The tech came out and informed me that my washer needed a major repair based on my description of performance. At no point did he touch or turn on my washer. He advised that is was cheaper to replace or purchase a warranty, wait 2 months and then have Sears fix it. I paid for the service call with the tech via credit card. A month later I received a bill for the service. The bill only contained ways to pay and no way to directly talk with someone. They gave an email and mailing address to correspond. I sent two emails with copies of the receipt AND a physical copy through the mail and my account was still transferred to collections.
I WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN! I paid $100 for a service call and the tech never touched my appliance.
Never showed on the day of the appt. No one called, texted or emailed me that they would not be coming. They set up another appt. For 10 days later without even consulting me. This service is the worst! Beware use a service where you can talk to people - not robots.

I had a technician come out to look at my broken washer. I needed him to send the diagnostic report to my home warranty company, which he said he would do but he never actually did. I called both the technician and the service line for weeks afterward to try to get them to submit the report or at least email it to me, but they never did. I asked for a refund and they denied me. They stole my money. I had to request a different service provider come out in order to get the problem diagnosed for my home warranty.
Tip for consumers:
Diagnosis visits are non-refundable. They didn't tell me that.

Had to use a different repair service
My repair appointment was for Mon. 5/22. Sears canceled that day@ 10:30 a.m. I had taken a day off work to deal with the repair issue. I rescheduled for today & specified that I would not be able to have the repair after 1:00. I said this 3 times. I just received a call from the repair tech at 2:18 p.m., 10 mins ago, saying he's on his way to my home. I am NOT at home, as I stated I would not be. This situation is absolutely unacceptable! I canceled the appointment & will never use Sears again. I will also advise anyone else I know (& those on social media) how unreliable & inconsiderate the company is. Disgusting customer service! I would leave zero stars if it was possible.

The technician(Charles) arrived for the appointment
But, sat in his truck in front of our house for 10 extra minutes. He said he was talking to his girlfriend about their dog who had cancer. While inside our home, he called someone on his cell phone and had them on speaker. Very unprofessional! Then he said the part that was ordered would be in on Monday and that he would call to let me know when he will come. Never heard a word from him again. So disappointing! Sears been in business a long time that's why we chose them to fix our wall oven. A complaint was filed. He basically waisted our time, seeing I left work early that day for this poor $#*! service.
Tip for consumers:
Poor service
Never buy anything from Sears! My $10,000, fully paid condenser is blowing nothing but cold air and the technician told me the unit wasn't made for NY winter's! This thing was working perfectly the last 2 winters with temps colder than this. He refused to come back and now I have to wait until tomorrow for someone else. Sears says there's nothing they can do. I have now been without heat on the first floor for 6 days! I can see why they're bankrupt. Again... NEVER buy anything from Sears
I would rate Sears Home Warranty and it's company "0" stars if I could. I spent two day and numerous hours on the phone trying to confirm an appointment for service. I spoke to several supervisors who assured me a technician would show up at the scheduled time. NO ONE SHOWED UP. I received text saying "Knock Knock, we showed up and no one answered". This was a blatant lie, in one case I was sitting on the front porch when the text came through. Having used Sears for many years and many services, it no longer performs up to it's reputation. I will never do business with Sears in any aspect.
We called Sears Home Services to have our clothes washer repaired. The Technician, Johnathan, did keep us apprised of his schedule and arrival time. He arrived right at 3:30 pm and was finished a few minutes after 4:00 pm. The area was left clean and we was pleasant and professional.
Our concerns were the charges. He replaced the door switch, which was the issue. That charge was $ 53.22, which was in line and reasonable. He also volunteered to clean the dryer and then charged us $50.00 for the "dryer cleaning". The total labor charges were $ 329.00 for what was approximately 35 minutes of work. The total bill was $ 432.22.
We would have been better off buying a new clothes washer. The labor charges were completely out of line unless Sears labor charges are around $550.00 per hour. That would have been nice to know BEFORE we engaged their services. We would never call Sears Home Services ever again.
Tip for consumers:
Would not recommend this company to anyone.

Hello Ellis, your feedback is invaluable to us and motivates us to work harder so that we can improve our service.
Had appointment for sears dryer repair between 1 and 5 PM. Now one showed no one called, no one texted. Spent almost 1 hour on phone trying to get so information. Got absolutely nowhere. I have experienced bad service before but this on takes 1st. Place. I will never use them again and go out of my way to advertise their total incompetency. Sears should immediately discontinue this service before they go out of business. The once great sears and Roebuck is now on the trash heap of failed businesses. Good riddance to Sears.
