Got the appointment with ease. Received confirmation of appointment. Shane arrived exactly on time and knew exactly how to repair our Bosch dishwasher. Very courteous and efficient. Would recommend Sears Home Services. Gave some good advice to use pods instead of liquid and mid range Bosch dishwashers have excellent quality. This company has really got its act together!
As of today I have been without a working refrigerator for three months. The Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was renewed for this appliance along with a dishwasher on May 7,2024 at a cost of $1,243.59 for three years. The refrigerator compressor failed on June 21 and Sears said no appointments were available until July 16. On July 16 the tech arrived to verify that a compressor was needed. Sears ordered the parts and scheduled repair for August 13. One part was then reported as delayed (but when I checked Amazon it was available for same-day delivery) and Sears pushed the repair back one week to August 20. Even though all parts had arrived on August 20 the tech didn't show up. After finally reaching an actual person at Sears they, without explanation or apology, stated that no tech could come until September 17. Three months without a refrigerator covered by an expensive service agreement. All their customers have similar stories. EDIT -- Here's an update on my review. Finally, on September 17,2024 the refrigerator covered by the Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was repaired. That's 3 months after the first attempt to get it fixed. The reason why it takes so long is that Sears will automatically make you wait three weeks before they will send any tech to your home. They are hoping you will become so desperate that you replace the appliance at your own expense rather than wait for them. Look elsewhere for a Home Repair service. Do not pay Sears for any service contract.
My appointment was canceled by them. They can't give me a new appointment unless I extend my protection plan but they don't have any local providers to perform the service. They want money for services they cannot perform
Techs do not know how to fix my built in refrigerator. Oscar is his name. Sears keeps assigning him to us, every time he shows up he blames his supervisor for not training, he refuses to give us his supervisor name and number, he steals a tool, and now he doesn't show up. The worst part he reports that the homeowner doesn't let him fix the refrigerator. I've had no refrigerator for 4 months. Sears keeps telling us they can't do nothing until a tech says it's unrepairable and they keep sending us the same tech! I'm ready to sue... btw on hold for an hour now trying to get customer service
You take out the service to repair your appliances only to be told by the agent to go and check out your appliances problem. If I knew what was wrong I wouldn't need service. Next you make the appointment to receive the service you paid for only to be rescheduled over and over again once your parts are mailed to your house. I will inform the better business bureau as soon as the holiday is over. This is the worst gimmick going. I'm sick and tried now! Just give me a new appliance. I wouldn't advise anyone to take out a service contract with sears.
Requested Cleaning and maintenance bundle washer, dryer, refrigerator and dishwasher. I believe the only thing that was done is he vacuumed the refrigerator $250 for that, I bummed will never use the service again and will warn all of my friends and family. Don't trust them to do anything. One star for vacuuming the fridge and turning on the dishwasher and dryer.

I have a 17 month old Kenmore Elite washer that just stopped working. Called for repair and was told there was a $149.00 fee for service that would be included in the repair and I would only be charged that fee if I chose not to have the washer fixed. Pretty standard. IT WAS A LIE! The only way I could get the service fee included in the repair was to BUY their service plan for $49.50 a month for a year. They wanted $600 for a $400 repair. The company that actually came out was A&E repair. I would never use this company if they are supporting this type of trickery from Sears Home repair. When consumers start refusing service from these companies maybe they will stop doing business with Sears.
Tip for consumers:
They will not tell you the truth when you call, you can not get ahold of a supervisor. If the agents you are talking to don't want to deal with your problem or you ask for a supervisor they just hang up on you.

My dishwasher went down they ordered the parts. Another guy came and how no idea how to get the progrmas or help or what to do. He told me to call the manufacturer even though I have no contract with them and its beyond their warranty. They also refused to give me anything in writing so I could go to Bosch. I want them to honor the contract to repair, buy it out or return all of my monthly payments as they have failed to honor their own contract. This is not the sears I knew and loved.

Sears is not what they used to be. Don't bother with them Better go to the manufacturer and get their extended service and hope for the best.

I cant believe the lack of effort I received from the Sears technician. After just a handful of minutes of "diagnosing" my broken washing machine, he told me it could be any of three parts. But supposedly they don't make these parts anymore, so there's nothing he could do. Also, I had already purchased a new control board that I wanted him to try. He said it was possible the new control board could fix it, but still wouldn't attempt to install it. So after just a few minutes, and no diagnosis, I apparently owed him $100 plus a fuel surcharge to pay for his gas...
Do yourself a favor and go with a local technician. Don't entertain these clowns.

They schedule a window from 8-5. Since July26, I have been waiting to get my dishwasher repaired. I have made SIX appointments, with one no-show and two cancellations on their part at 3:50pm both times after spending the entire day waiting. It's a lack of respect for people who have to work and spend the entire day waiting for technicians.
All I get is the run-a-round, being given a number to call which ends up being the same message, and you cannot speak to a person. It's ridiculous that Sears allows this treatment. No wonder their business has gone downhill.

have your techs keep their schedules. For the amount of money they have been paid to come here and try to repair my dishwasher, you could install a new one.

One of the worst home warranties for services, so far it has been over a month on my dishwasher repair. July 2nd, tech came out diagnosed the issue, ordered a part and scheduled the install of part. July 16, appointment was schedule from 8 am to 12 pm, called them at 11 am because no one had show and was informed they are on the way. At 12:30 they texted to say they are in route at 2 pm still no one and was rescheduled for July 27th because they didn't have any earlier dates. When July 27th came the tech came in and said he's not doing this and left. Called the service people, they rescheduled it for Aug. 5th. Well today's August 5 and no technician showed again, Called again and was told to reschedule it.
At this point I just want it to be replaced because this has been going on for a while.
Also called the service department today, they lady put me on hold but didn't notice she took me off and started talking about me in Spanish and not nicely either.

I had purchased a microwave from Sears back in September 2017 and it has broken in total 6 times. I had purchased the warranty, so they came and fixed it with no problem. However, during the last time it broke, I asked them to replace it. This was in the beginning of September 2019. They said it was no problem and they will replace it, but no instructions were given. A few weeks later after many calls, they finally told me that I had to go down to my local Sears to pick out the model I had. This was on September 22, already 2 weeks without a microwave. They advised that a technician would call to set up the delivery and installation. This was the worst thing ever. They advised it would be installed on October 7, already a month without a microwave, I said that was okay. No one ever came and when I called the number provided, it was always busy. I had to call Sears and demand to pick up the microwave and install it myself. This is ridiculous.
I scheduled an appointment and was given a time frame and a tracking map. I was fifth on the list. I followed this all day and then it said "You are up next". I was happy and then the tracking map disappeared. I tried to chat with a customer service rep who only wanted to sell me a home warranty plan. He finally said that he sent me technician a text and he would be in contact with me. About 30 minutes later my appointment was cancelled. No reason. Just cancelled. This was for work on a freezer that was not keeping my food frozen anymore. They wanted to reschedule for 2 days in the future. I cancelled the appointment and will never use Sears Home Services again. This is not the first time that they did this to me but it will be the last.

We put on hold with sear and it took one momth for a tech to diagnise the issue. We ordered the parts and scheduled the service 4 times. We waited patiently every single appointment but at the end of the day noone showed up. UNFORTUNATELY we paid Sears the servixe cost because we needed to do to schedule a service. The guy who is in this picture was always scheduled to repair my fridge. We lost the $600 to repair our appliance and now we have to buy a new fridge because the tech never showed and sears home service never provided an update on the service we paid. No recommend to anyone
The replacement washer, I qualified for under the service agreement, was defective and leaked, from the start, and the overseas Sears reps refused to take it back. They accused me of criminal fraud for accepting the only thing of value that I received after having the agreement for 14 years. The overseas Sears Reps only want to sell you an overlapping service agreement and will punish you severely if you don't give in and buy one. The washer was covered under the manufacturer's warranty (not the service agreement), but the overseas Sears Reps asked the manufacturer not to cooperate with me and take the defective washer back. The overseas Sears Reps hate Americans and especially hate American women, whom they are intent on demeaning and making submissive and compliant (to conform with their own cultural values). Don't waste your time in during business with Sears unless you hate Americans as much as the overseas Sears reps hate us.

Terrible service but worst of all is the phone service. The people are OK but hold times are awful and you are cut off after a 30 minute hold. After exactly 2 months our replacement cook top was installed of course it was the wrong model and I am starting all over again.
Our Sears water softener is in need of repair. We have a home service contract. We have been trying to get the softener repaired since May. We have called more times than we can count and we are continuously told they will find someone to come and repair our softner but so far that has not happened. Today they told us that we may have to find someone in our area to repair the softner and then we will be reimbursed.
Almost 3 months and still waiting to get my riding lawnmower fixed, they sent a person out after 3 canceled appointments. He said it was the clutch and he would be back in about 2 weeks well he also canceled. I am on the phone waiting forever and finally get through to only be hung up on and of course they don't call back so I am back on the phone trying to get them to refund me my money. I will never use them again. This is a Horrible way to conducted a so Called business.
Second time in one week that Sears has mishandled my repair request (two different repairs). This is after my mother's central a/c unit failed in August of last year and it took 6 repair visits and over one month to (finally) replace the unit- during the hottest month of the year. For an 89 year-old woman.
It is almost impossible to get through to Sears by phone or online. Many times I have waited on hold for 40 minutes or more, only to be disconnected. During the hold, Sears keeps repeating you don't have to wait, you can go online and chat.
The problem? The chat does not EVER work!
The contracted technicians I have spoken with tell me they have the same issues with Sears as I have- when Sears schedules an appointment, they do not check with the contractor to see if they have someone available to appear on the date given. This is the second time (two different contractors) in less than a wek.
We have had this service for three years and it was good. Now it is just awful. We scheduled service TWICE and no one showed up! It seems they schedule 10 calls a day and we are last on the list. Forget it.

I had sears remodel my bath room and now i cant get them to come back and replace the toilet. The toilet is cracking and can not find a number to talk to them about coming to fix it. They have no trouble when it comes to collecting their money.
Twice they were supposed to come to my house, both times they said they missed us and we never heard the door knock. They didn't ring the bell, they didn't call me. And I know they had my phone number. Twice my husband and I have had to take time off work and neither time have they come through. We are very very aggravated with this company and don't recommend that anybody use them for anything

This service was expensive and the person seemed like they barely wanted to try. $160 diagnostic just to tell us machines today are not what they used to be. The first disappointment was buying Samsung appliances (phones are good but kitchen appliances are horrendous).
Second disappointment was getting this group to complete the review.
Three weeks to wait for a dishwasher repair. "He will be here between 8am and 12 pm " The guy shows up at 7:50am, evidently knocked very lightly on the door, and left. Now he won't answer his phone... Sears promised a text when I called to complain but... not text back either.
Worst service ever! One start is being nice! I have a 1.5 year old refrigerator that the compressor went out on. I've been trying to get a person on the phone for two weeks! We have a service warranty and they seem like they don't want to take care of your appliance if you have this. If you tell them you don't have a warranty they come right out. No wonder they went out of business!
Truly ZERO STARS!
Based on Sear's reputation (clearly a thing of the past!), I opted to have their home services come out to replace an old range hood with a new one. I was pre-charged $209.99 for the work and told installation would happen within the week. That was two weeks ago today!
Every time I try to call or chat, they tell me my phone number isn't in the system... yet it's on the receipt they emailed me! I did reach someone on the 20th who finally told me that she could see the receipt, but that they hadn't found anyone to do the work yet and to give them two more days. Still waiting...
When I called back today, once again they couldn't see my phone number on anything, and gave me an email to send the receipt to (supposedly) for a refund.
I am not holding out hope. This transaction has SCAM and FRAUD written all over it! Do yourself a HUGE favor and stay as far away from Sears Home "Services" as you can!
Had Sears come out to fix a Kenmore washing machine door that wouldn't shut. Repairman quoted me $250 (app.). Gave him approval. His supervisor called 5 mins later and said he can't do that repair and it'll cost $600 to replace entire door. Told him no thx. Contacted Premium Appliance Repair who came out and fixed it the original way and amount. Awful Sears tries to take advantage of situation.
