Got the appointment with ease. Received confirmation of appointment. Shane arrived exactly on time and knew exactly how to repair our Bosch dishwasher. Very courteous and efficient. Would recommend Sears Home Services. Gave some good advice to use pods instead of liquid and mid range Bosch dishwashers have excellent quality. This company has really got its act together!
As of today I have been without a working refrigerator for three months. The Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was renewed for this appliance along with a dishwasher on May 7,2024 at a cost of $1,243.59 for three years. The refrigerator compressor failed on June 21 and Sears said no appointments were available until July 16. On July 16 the tech arrived to verify that a compressor was needed. Sears ordered the parts and scheduled repair for August 13. One part was then reported as delayed (but when I checked Amazon it was available for same-day delivery) and Sears pushed the repair back one week to August 20. Even though all parts had arrived on August 20 the tech didn't show up. After finally reaching an actual person at Sears they, without explanation or apology, stated that no tech could come until September 17. Three months without a refrigerator covered by an expensive service agreement. All their customers have similar stories. EDIT -- Here's an update on my review. Finally, on September 17,2024 the refrigerator covered by the Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was repaired. That's 3 months after the first attempt to get it fixed. The reason why it takes so long is that Sears will automatically make you wait three weeks before they will send any tech to your home. They are hoping you will become so desperate that you replace the appliance at your own expense rather than wait for them. Look elsewhere for a Home Repair service. Do not pay Sears for any service contract.
Home warranty company affiliated with sears is cross country and they don't have service provider just they assign the technician to you and then after calling the technician they never set up any appointment then they assign you another one and another with no positive response. I feel that I am going in circles with no help. I do believe that sears/ cross-country they collect your money and they can't provide me with the service I needed as stated in the contract agreement. I do not understand how in the world that a company like sears and cross country home service has no legitimate technician to provide the searvice needed.
Came one week ago and didn't have part for dryer (despite telling them prior the code was reading temperature sensor problem). Ordered temperature sensor and told us would be back Aug 13 to fix. Never showed. After over 1hr on phone, multiple "supervisors" told over and over appt was for Aug 20. Both husband and I there when technician said 13th, called to confirm yesterday and recording said "you have appt tomorrow." Nothing they can do. Paid for service visit and part, nothing done. Took off work for this. Worst customer service I've ever received.
I purchase my appliance from sears (Elite and Pro)suppose to be the high end, but I had nothing but problems with it. I purchase the home warranty and they didn't know how to fix it. I have spent over 20K and they will not get another dime from me. I am so disappointed in the service I had to go out on my own to get the dishwasher fixed after a year of home warranty couldnt fix it. $1,100.00 for a dishwasher I expect it to last longer! And dont forget I had to pay for the plan every month too.
Repairman came to home of 93 year ood because she was having trouble with stackable dryer. The repairman cleaned it out...$199.00. The customer asked him about sound in the washer. He opened the door of washer and jingled simething that made the noise and said it was on it's "last legs" and would cost over $1000 to fix. This little bit of requested help cost another $199.00. Shame on you, Sears, the for this $400 bill. NEVER again will I use Sears repair.
Recent claim, December 2022 for refrigerator repair; water dispenser not working. I paid $75 fee and service tech came to diagnose. He ordered parts and using his cell phone app I selected the next service date to install new parts for Dec. 6. On Dec. 6 Sears called saying my appointment must be rescheduled. Reluctantly I rescheduled to Dec. 16. On Dec. 16, the day they were to come, they called at 12:30 PM saying they needed to reschedule the appointment; AGAIN! This is totally unacceptable. I rescheduled a 3rd appt. For Dec. 23. Not expecting they will show up! I thought I would avoid drama by choosing Sears. Either way I will cancel this warranty! I DO NOT RECOMMEND SEARS WARRANTY! PS. You cannot get a live person and all their customer service is outsourced to call centers...USELESS!

Warranty Service is terrible!
Freezer failed, called for repair. Technician said couldn't repair freezer and tried to get me to sign a bunch of things without showing me what they said. He tried charging me $577. That was one of the phone forms that he wanted me to sign without letting me read it. I ended up yelling at him and finally he let me see what he wanted me to sign which was authorizing a $577 charge. I told him I would only pay the $99 that was part of the contract. He then tried charging me $120 and I refused. This is just the tip of the iceberg. He tried to walk through my house, I would not let him. It was very creepy. I ended up telling him to leave. There is no one I can talk to. Nobody answers any of the phone numbers.
Please accept our apologies for the subpar service you received. Rest assured that we take your comments seriously, and we are actively using your feedback to make the necessary improvements to enhance our service quality
In the last 2 weeks I have spent at least 40 hours on hold. Most times to reach someone who offers absolutely ZERO help. When they tire of talking to you, the phone disconnects. Or, the tell you they will forward you to someone that can help them... then they put you back in the customer service loop. My problems started 3 months ago when I called in for service on my washing machine. Sears showed up promptly and ordered 11 parts for my washer. A few weeks later the repairman came back and said parts were missing. He then told me he as going to authorize a replacement washer. Thats when the trouble started. 2 1/2 months later I got an eamil that said because of Covid19 my replacement was being delayed, but I could accept a $399 check. I cant buy washer anyplace for 399. But, when I contacted Lowes they said a washer could be delivered in a few days. I dont know what to do. Im 78 an have to mop each time I wash clothes. Soon my floor will be rotten.
Way OVERPRICED with a useless customer support network. They charged $315 for 25 minutes of work on my Kenmore refrigerator, which included a "diagnostic fee" of $99 to tell me that I had a leak, DUH!
The part, a cheap piece of plastic tubing, was free LOL. Essentially they repaired a leaking tube connected to the water dispenser. People that fix refrigerators are being paid more than plumbers and electricians! Their useless customer support, I spoke to people in India and Mexico, appears to in other countries. When I insisted on knowing their hourly rate, I was disconnected both times.
Repair tech came out. Had never worked on GE Monogram fridge. GAve us a list of things that needed replacing on our 4 year old fridge. Gave us an estimate for $1000 but was unable to answer ANy questions about fan and why things were "wrong". So unprofessional, not knowledgeable, and just kept saying "That's what GE recommends" but could not explain. I sent sears customer service many emails complaining about our service, NOT A SINGLE RESPONSE. So Frustrated...
We value your feedback, and we are actively working to address these issues to improve our service. We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity to serve you better.
If you don't mind wasting most of your day only to find out that they have arbitrarily canceled your appointment go ahead and do business with Sears! Sears requires that you give 24 hours notice before canceling an appointment, yet they've not the same respect for your time. I never received a message that they were canceling. I had to go online to look at the status of my appointment when no one showed up after I'd waited for 6 hours. I called Sears to complain, they said they called me, but I'd hung up. There was an unidentified call, I answered, but no one was there, no message was left, no further attempt to contact. The service agent was very rude. When your appliances need repair ask around, find a local person, and avoid Sears like the plague. I will never do business with them again and will actively encourage all that I know to avoid them.
They Suck! Thru home warranty to fix AC. Everything is automated and when they did come, a week later. They said they had to come tomorrow because they didn't have the ladder to get to the 2nd floor. We paid the $85. Come to find out they are NOT coming out. Had to do new claim. Don't use them!
Tip for consumers:
Need to improve your service.
We would like to extend our heartfelt apologies for the less-than-ideal service you received. Rest assured, we take your comments seriously and will use them to make necessary improvements.
4 years ago completely remodeled kitchen and purchased double over, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, cooktop and vent from Sears. All "Kenmore Elite" matching appliances. Yesterday the freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling. Contacted Sears to get Technician to look at and they tell me it will take 15 days before they can get someone to look at it. 15 DAYS without a refrigerator? Really? Called an appliance repair company and they came out same day to tell me compressor is bad on it. Now Sears won't take care of warranty because it wasn't their repairman. $3000 + fridge that lasted right at 4 years and now its my issue. Steer clear of this company and their products!
Worst possible coustomer service I've ever dealt with. They hang up and schedule you for dates you tell them you won't be home. They keep you on hold for hours not minutes and when you don't hang up they'll hang up on you and not call back. The technichian that came to my house just ordered parts without looking if that was the issue. It will be over a month at least before my appliances are repaired. I challenge the to contact me back. They have my information just respond. Just terrible,
I submitted a work order for a microwave through my home warranty company shortly after purchasing a new house. Initially, the SEARS technician was great... until they left after the first visit. 2 parts were needed. One part was shipped directly to my and sat on my counter for 2 weeks without any communication from SEARS, so I installed the part myself. The 2nd part which was supposed to have been ordered 2 months ago, was apparently just ordered last week through a 3rd party vendor, but has yet to be located. SEARS customer service has flat out lied to me when I asked to speak with on duty management by telling me that they weren't allowed to connect customers to a manager and also that their parts dept doesn't accept calls. They have also gone as far as blaming my home warranty company for my microwave not being repaired and/or replaced. I've advised my home warranty company to drop SEARS as a contractor due to their inability to maintain prompt and professional service.
Bought a 3 year contract w/ new washer/dryer. They would not honor 3 annual preventive maintenance visits that comes with the contract. Bought service Sept 5,2016; first visit Sept 8,2017 (and speaker failed, they replaced); next visit Sept 14,2018; July 2019 tried to schedule 3rd visit and was told they could not do it before Sept 14 and contract expires Sept 5,2019. I would need to purchase another maintenance contract in order to come out before Sept 5,2019. We were told that the annual visits need to be at the same time every year when I scheduled the first two years. I called them in July every year to schedule the visits. After pressing the issue I was told that the visits needed to occur less than 365 days. I expressed that I was not told that and they didn't care. They lost a customer and I will never return!
Sears responded to a request from my home warranty company to fix my microwave. On their fourth visit, one of the servicemen dropped and shattered the door making the unit unfixable. My warranty company would have replaced an unfixable unit except it might have been fixable if Sears had not dropped and shattered the door. Sears would not replace the unit because, they said it was 10 years old and depreciated. It seemed a simple fix when I agreed to having Sears do the work. They made a simple fuse replacement a $4000 job of which they agreed to pay $1500. Don't let them in your house.
I scheduled a service for a repair person to fix our washer. I also bought a service agreement. They messed up the order, the date and other dates. And, it took me a full day to get through to someone to fix the mess. I canceled everything with them. Not worth the stress.
Tip for consumers:
Be careful. They tend to mess up the service.

nothing. This was a service call to repair a washing machine.
Incompetent and rude technicians. First one did not find the problem and gave me a wrong answer. Second one called me three times telling me he is coming within 30 minutes, and did not come after he heard that the first one did not find the problem. What kind of technician is affilated with this company? And is this company using the Sears name just to cheat?

Washer broke. I called Sears home warranty to come out and look at it. The man ordered a part and got me to sign for the home warranty. I waited for months for a part. No one ever contacted me. Every time I would check to see if the part was available it was on back order. I attempted to cancel the warranty and cancel the part/service after 4 months and get a refund on the product. It is now July and I haven't received the refund on the part that o never received and they wouldn't refund the warranty fee. I am out over 500.00 having received no product or service. It's called theft
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use Sears EVER!!
We hired them to repair our 3-year-old KitchenAid ice maker They wanted to sell us a new one at $398.67. Did NOT troubleshoot at all. A new rep came the next day. He said our ice maker wasn't getting water. BUT because the wire that turns the water on was broken and because it is in the freezer door it can't be reinstalled or repaired so we have to purchase a new door for $2,000.00! Scam! Stay AWAY!
Well my washer broke over a year ago, and they still can't fix it, everytime they come they order a new part and say that something else is broken... It's been a year of this, and still the replacement washer they promise is completely out of the conversation. I have to go to a laundromat and waste money even though I am a Sears customer. Over a year without a washing machine... I am ready to cry honestly idk what to do I honestly wish there was some legal action I could take.
This company caused me so much inconvenience!
First issue: a technician came and made wrong analyzis which was fixed by second technisian (who came to install the parts ordered by first technician) and it took 2 weeks in between;
Second issue: second technician added additional part and they didn't provide it for the whole month;
Third issue: when I got the missing part within 24 hours and fixed the dishwasher on my own, they didn't provide me service reciept for week or more. I contacted via chat and phone and they kept saying "it will come in 2-3 days".
If I could give them minus stars I would. What they don't tell you when you call for an appointment is they will try and up-sale you a maintance service policy on all your appliances. If you refuse to buy it, then they won't fix your appliance you called them on. They told me it would be $250 to fix my dryer, but I had to purchase an additional $50 a month maintanance contract ($600 a year) on my appliance or they wouldn't fix my dryer. You're out the $99 service fee, and your appliance still isn't fixed. I ended up fixing it myself for $35 in parts and an hour work. They're listed with a local address and phone number, but you're switched to a national call center. THIS IS A SCAM! Do NOT do business with Sears!
We went through our home warranty for a dishwasher repair. The first appointment was rescheduled and then once the appointment date came (Oct 2020), our technician ordered parts and told us we were responsible for removing the dishwasher for him to service it. Our next service date was never set as we were awaiting a back ordered part for months. Now, February 2021, I get a text saying I have been rescheduled for service from 8-5. Great, it's finally getting fixed. Kidding, it's not. The technician closed our ticket saying it was serviced and parts were replaced and the job was completed. We took off work, waited around, finally contacted customer service to just reschedule it to find out it it was "completed". I have parts sitting around and no one installing them. Fortunately my home warranty company has since scheduled a new service provider to fix the issue. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND. Run from this company. Run fast.
I just can't believe I have had this washer for less than 3 years and every part has been changed. Two times the transmission, timer and now the computer. They should have gave me a new one. 11 times a technician has visite just for the washer. For the dryer 3 times. Had a Maytag first time it needed a repair was after 11 years.
