Got the appointment with ease. Received confirmation of appointment. Shane arrived exactly on time and knew exactly how to repair our Bosch dishwasher. Very courteous and efficient. Would recommend Sears Home Services. Gave some good advice to use pods instead of liquid and mid range Bosch dishwashers have excellent quality. This company has really got its act together!
As of today I have been without a working refrigerator for three months. The Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was renewed for this appliance along with a dishwasher on May 7,2024 at a cost of $1,243.59 for three years. The refrigerator compressor failed on June 21 and Sears said no appointments were available until July 16. On July 16 the tech arrived to verify that a compressor was needed. Sears ordered the parts and scheduled repair for August 13. One part was then reported as delayed (but when I checked Amazon it was available for same-day delivery) and Sears pushed the repair back one week to August 20. Even though all parts had arrived on August 20 the tech didn't show up. After finally reaching an actual person at Sears they, without explanation or apology, stated that no tech could come until September 17. Three months without a refrigerator covered by an expensive service agreement. All their customers have similar stories. EDIT -- Here's an update on my review. Finally, on September 17,2024 the refrigerator covered by the Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was repaired. That's 3 months after the first attempt to get it fixed. The reason why it takes so long is that Sears will automatically make you wait three weeks before they will send any tech to your home. They are hoping you will become so desperate that you replace the appliance at your own expense rather than wait for them. Look elsewhere for a Home Repair service. Do not pay Sears for any service contract.
We had an appointment for today 1-5, we found out they would not show because we called. Our refrigerator does not work we waited already a week now we have to wait another week. We tried to get some help and they transferee us from one to another, 7 people and ultimately we have to wait they could only offer an apology but no customer service they would just transfer to not deal with us. An hour on the phone! Supervisor Kevin at his worse, he did not care. At all, Sears this is why you go bankrupt! I would give you 0 stars
Sears tech visit said $828 for repair and had to order parts would return in 2weeks to complete, but must pay now. I did and have signed invoice, now Sears trying to claim I refused service and they disavow they were paid.
I filed a dispute with my credit card company.
Avoid Sears- scammers
Tip for consumers:
Do not pay cash or debit
I have been without a working dryer for over 2 months because the part needed to fix it is no longer available and all Sears needs to do is send that info to our home warranty company so it can be replaced. Our company has contacted them on 4 different occasions and they still won't send it. I would never have them come to my home again.
A Zero Not even 1 Star... would be appropriate... I've had a Riding mower that has need servicing and a new front tire since beginning of Spring. I've taken 2 separate days off work waited! Waited! Waited! No show. No call... two days off from work... so... reschedule 4 more times on a Saturday... guess what? No call no show. Each time they just send an email confirming reschedule of the home service... are they kidding! People work... I order a treadmill from Sears in Between the first 2 "NO SHOW" appointments. I Cancelled the order. So done with SEARS
Ordered parts for a microwave. Set appointment window 8-5. Took the day off, tech couldn't make all of his calls so scheduled for the following week after I took the whole day off.
Next appointment a week later 8-5 window, took the whole day off, van backed in neighbors driveway across the street at 2:40, left to get my daughter at school 2 miles away at 3:15. He watched me walk to my truck. I was back in 15 minutes. While gone, no call, no text, just a picture of my door and said no one home.
This company or this tech sucks.
This is clearly not a one time incident.
Absolutely not responsible! They are a waste of time. They scheduled an appointment with us to repair a washer and dryer and missed the appointment twice. We were originally scheduled for repair between 1:00 and 5:00. The Technician, *******822, called at 7:30 am to ask if he could come earlier, we agreed. He said he would arrive shortly but never showed. He lied and said he had come and we knew better because there is a camera which showed him parked across the street and never coming to the door. When we called to explain that he had not come, he got angry and said, "maybe I won't come today". We called Sears and spoke to Ernest who supposedly escalated the issue and assured us that someone would be out between 1:00 and 5:00. No one came or called! Don't waste your time with Sears Home Services, they are a mess.
Sears and they said the light module needed replaced which sounded complicated. When the tech arrived, he did not wear a mask during a pandemic or shoe covers before coming into the home. He spent about 10 minutes inside the refrigerator, fixed the lights and left a bill for almost $400. A few months later, and few more lights
Stopped working. I did some research and the light module it just what they are calling the LED lights. The great engineers at Sears designed the lights so they are in series, if one light goes out, so does the other lights on that side. I was able to find a replacement light online for $25. The light arrived in two days and all you have to do is pop out the old light, unplug it, plug in the new light and snap it back into place. The whole process took me around 10 minutes. Charging $400 is a scam.
Normally, I would never write a review about a company, but their service is absolutely horrible. Several times I have been told that our technician would be within a certain time window, the first few times, they were delayed by two hours. Wanted to reschedule only to be told they don't do service on that day. Rescheduled again and was told that they would make sure the technician was there within the time frame, but yet, here we are again 2 hours late with no phone call.
Guy #1 comes after 2 weeks takes $150 says it's the condenser. Should I order it? Leave ticket open or close it. It will cost $600.
Guy #2 comes out after another 2 weeks. Says you closed ticket so we're starting over. Says it's the condenser and there's a leak which might cost over a thousand to fix. Takes $79. We close ticket.
We ask for a different guy.
Guy #2 calls again after 2 weeks on the given date and now says he will change compressor, condenser and evaporator. He wants to make sure we'll give him his service trip cost. We say okay. He comes out. He doesn't have the right evaporator or whatever. Will take 3 weeks to get it. I'm like why are you here then? He says well I didn't know which one you needed. Oh and now it will cost $1200 without fixing the leak after 3 weeks, maybe. Looking from the experience of other folks on this sight doubt that anything was going to happen. We're just going to save our remaining time and money and get a different brand of fridge.
I hired Sears to repair my microwave. They did a diagnostic but didn't have the part on hand. After receiving the part, I tried dozens of times in every possible way to contact them to come back and complete the repair. After 2 months I finally got escalated to a department who approved a refund. Another month later I'm still waiting so I disputed in my credit card. Now they are rescinding the refund offer and I'm having to pay another company to complete the repair.
Worst customer service ever- tech came to repair my fridge, barely looked at the trickle coming from my water dispenser & charged me $147 and said I need a plumber. Plumber said normal water pressure to fridge, charged me $85. Then i got a GE repair tech who actually tested, said it was a bad filter and changed it totally fixed for $105. Can't get a human to talk to me from sears, waited on hold forever and then they dumped me back into the queue and then disconnected my call, chat gave me an email that bounces, Twitter initially responded and then nothing I want my $147 and $85 reimbursed. Will NEVER use them again.
The name used to speak for itself! Please don't get confused, this company should just gracefully bow heads and give it up! I'm a home owner and I love my warranty company! Had this one for my auntie, they just ripped her completely!
Tip for consumers:
Do not purchase home warranty!
They charged me $722 to repair my refrigerator. Three months later, the refrigerator still does not work. The second and third tech verified the refrigerator is not repairable. They keep promising a credit in two weeks and I keep not getting the credit. If you use them, just know that they don't warranty their repairs. If the repair does not work, you're on your own. Don't waste your time or money, call someone else.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use them.

Terrible experience with this service. Never repaired my refrigerator. Ordered parts that never came. Made no contact with me in 45 days. I called and found out service order was cancelled. Request a refund for my service call and warranty. Supervisor was to call within 48 hours. It's been 5 days and no call. Long story short. Over 250.00 charged and no service provider. Save your money and go elsewhere.!
Please do yourself a favor and never use this company. The freezer part on our fridge has been out since January 2020 and the service department has been at our house for 8 times replacing this and that and the freezer is still not working. My husband has taken off from work numerous times to meet the technician and sometimes she shows up just to take a serial number and that is all. The service technician will come to your house and try to repair your appliance but it their repair did not fix the problem, it will take them 3 weeks to come back - EVERY TIME. You cannot get anyone on the phone that would know anything or help you to get expedited service. Contacting them online does not help - there is no sense of urgency on anyone's part. We have been so disgusted at the level of their service so do yourself a favor and call some other service company.
I engaged the services of Sears on 3/22/2016. A service planned for $154.95 to clean 14 air ducts, the technician suggested cleaning of furnace and all that lead to a total bill of $1,379.65 which I paid immediately. After cleaning, he said my filter is dirty, at first I was surprised its not included in the bill, but I agreed I will like to change the filter, and he promised he will make an order on my behalf. I guess the old filter should have remained in the furnace until a new one replaces it. However, I returned home from office only to find my old filter on the corridor of my family room. I have tried the technician's number but no response. I have called customer care but the lady hang the phone on me after my complaint. I will press charges to confirm that my furnace has been covered without a filter for 2 days now. My Sears invoice number is *******. I have not entered the utility room yet.
Unprofessional. Called for a dryer repair on a dryer that was not heating. The technician did not turn off the gas. He manipulated (mixed some of the new part with some of the old broken part) a part that was brand new prior to replacing it in the machine. Dryer caught on fire after "repair". He tried to pass it off as not a big deal and that he would fix it despite several melted wires inside the machine. The disgusting lack of regard for safety was the worst part of the experience, but the customer support is almost as bad as nothing has been done thus far to rectify this situation.
Service was pricey, reasonable wait time for service call, tech back in 2 weeks, replaces part,
Assured me washer had no more leaks after replacing a door gasket, (seal).
I immediately loaded the washer after he left and was very disappointed that it had the very same problem!
Leaks from the bottom of the machine!
August 2 I called Sears Home Service to schedule a repair to my dishwasher. After 4 different appointments ( 2 where the technician never showed up) it was finally determined that the dishwasher needed a new control panel. I have a completely white kitchen and to my misfortune, white control panels are no longer available. I was offered a black control panel which would make my dishwasher functional. I don't understand how they consider this acceptable. Would you drive around in a white car with a black fender? I have had a Sears Home Service contract since 1992, so I imagine I have spent a small fortune of money for them over the years. This has been a horrible experience. I of course will not be renewing this contract and suggest that anyone considering taking out a home service contract with Sears look elsewhere.
We value your feedback, and we are actively working to address these issues to improve our service. We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity to serve you better.
My one piece of advice is stay away from this company! The reason I say this isn't so much how they repair your appliances, but how they keep billing you over and over. They had me pay in full like I expected when they were done looking at our appliance. Now five month later they are billing me again or telling me they will send a collection agency to me. They tell you to call *******459 M-F 8-7 EST. Give it a try and see what you get. What a joke they are!
We are more than 1 1/2 months trying to get someone to install a replaced Microwave. After our 6th call we were told, we don't do installs and you have to find someone and same us the bill. They sent us first to a repair company thats owner had died some time ago and no longer worked with Sears. The second company never responded to us. We were the; told that Sears direct would find us a company to install the replace unit only to get a call back saying we had to work direct with GE as they don't provide this. Someone convinced us to try to them. Don't and save yourselves lots of frustration. My next call is to Cancel this contract. Something tells me that won't be easy
Scheduled a sears tech to look at oven thus was November 13. I was sold on the warranty so I signed up for it and the tech ordered the parts. The parts got lost had to reach out to sears and reorder. To my disappointment my oven wasn't working for Thanksgiving. Parts finally arrived, thought everything was fine until I was actually cooking and the oven stopped working in the middle of it! Called sears again, tech came out and says tools like the parts are faulty reorders once again. This time I have no oven for Christmas. Then today I had a tech scheduled only for them to cancel and reschedule. Unfortunately that doesn't work for me. I'm a single full time working mom. This has been extremely frustrating for me and my family and today in the New Year I still do not have my oven working. Sears will not even credit me on my monthly billing cycle. Honestly wish I never signed up for this warranty and should have just bought a new oven.
This is the worst experience I've ever experienced! Purchased a warranty for my fridge, which wasn't cheap. Fridge stop making ice and getting cold. They sent the same guy out twice who didn't know what he was doing and then tried to play me saying 3 parts were delivered when in fact there were only two parts delivered. Two of the tracking numbers were the same smh been without a fridge for a month and I filed a food loss claim the check came i deposited into my bank and guess what IT BOUNCED! Still no fridge nor resolution.I will never ever ever use this company again nor will my family nor friends…We need to file a class action lawsuit!
We want to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your recent service experience. Rest assured, we take your comments seriously and will use them to make necessary improvements.
We had an issue with our GE clothes washer. It started making s noise when my wife was washing our clothes. The next morning I called and made an appointment. It took 3 weeks to find a repair person to come and fix. So finally the repair man showed up and charged us $75.00 and he told us that your clothes washer needs to be replaced. After nearly 2 weeks got a call from Sears Home Services that our clothes washer is no covered, the lady told us that it's your fault and Sears is not going to replace it. The representative told us that it's the owners responsibility. Please tell all your friends and families NOT to get any kind of a service done at a crock, scammer and a bankrupt company.
Took a week and a half for a appointment. Then they give you a 8 to 5 time to come out. You have to take a whole day off of work. The repair guy never came. I received no phones from anyone. I had to call them twice. Completely unprofessional! Call someone else! Don't waste your time!
