Got the appointment with ease. Received confirmation of appointment. Shane arrived exactly on time and knew exactly how to repair our Bosch dishwasher. Very courteous and efficient. Would recommend Sears Home Services. Gave some good advice to use pods instead of liquid and mid range Bosch dishwashers have excellent quality. This company has really got its act together!
As of today I have been without a working refrigerator for three months. The Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was renewed for this appliance along with a dishwasher on May 7,2024 at a cost of $1,243.59 for three years. The refrigerator compressor failed on June 21 and Sears said no appointments were available until July 16. On July 16 the tech arrived to verify that a compressor was needed. Sears ordered the parts and scheduled repair for August 13. One part was then reported as delayed (but when I checked Amazon it was available for same-day delivery) and Sears pushed the repair back one week to August 20. Even though all parts had arrived on August 20 the tech didn't show up. After finally reaching an actual person at Sears they, without explanation or apology, stated that no tech could come until September 17. Three months without a refrigerator covered by an expensive service agreement. All their customers have similar stories. EDIT -- Here's an update on my review. Finally, on September 17,2024 the refrigerator covered by the Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was repaired. That's 3 months after the first attempt to get it fixed. The reason why it takes so long is that Sears will automatically make you wait three weeks before they will send any tech to your home. They are hoping you will become so desperate that you replace the appliance at your own expense rather than wait for them. Look elsewhere for a Home Repair service. Do not pay Sears for any service contract.
A technician came to my home stated my furnace needed to be cleaned and parts ordered and that he would call me with an estimate. I paid him by credit card for the service call. Never heard from him again. Called the customer support line and the representative assured me a return call that day. He never called. A month later I receive a bill in the mail for $100.00. I just sent a letter to the company as a formal dispute because according to the fine print any challenge to their billing has to be done in writing. I'll give an update if they actually do the right thing and retract the fraudulent bill they sent me.
Specifically, they did provide a qualified technician who left parts our of my refrigerator and said there is no reason for what is happening. Secondly, they rescheduled and then cancelled the appointment after I took a day off of work. I now have a broken refrigerator and I am out over $800.00 for the past year.
Took an appliance warranty package. They Canceled service date with one hour notice, no reason. Delayed a full week to reschedule. Sent a tech who did not know how to install replacement part, took 6 hours to do so and repair lasted a few hours. No possibility to speak to firm subcontracted to do repair work... must now wait for a second week to have another repairman come. Total disregard for customer. Most frustrating. Only deal with local firms who actually have local numbers to call. Any savings NOT worth it.
Do not purchase anything from sears or their master protective agreements for your products. I have been with them for 14 years and have had excellent service. This year has changed. I renewed my policy on 15 April 2021. They have lost my records, My products under warranty were missing from their records and they cannot be reached for repairs. They are doing repairs through 3rd party contractors who are incompetent as well as the incompetence of their staff at sears customer care services

I have worked with Sears in the past and was very satisfied with their services. However, they are now sending out people to work on appliances to do just enough to get you to pay this expensive service fee and extra for parts, but to no satisfaction for the client. I feel they need more experienced service techs to get the job done the first time and stop trying to rip people off, because after sending a new service tech who provided more details a second time, he claimed I needed more parts which would almost equal to the price of a new refrigerator, but couldn't guarantee it would even work past one year! Of course, at this point I requested a refund which took two weeks after threatening to consult with my attorney regarding this matter.
Sears called on my appointment day to cancel just because they didn't have technicians close to my address. I called the customer service and the lady was not professional and helpful at all and she hang up on me. Stupid lady you are there to help customer and if you can't handle it get another job. Sears sucks, I wonder why you are out of business.

Sears charged me for most of my repair in advance, but then there was always an issue with the technician showing up, including one claiming that he knocked on my door and I wasn't home! The repair was never done, and Sears is keeping a chunk of my money. Money that I need to repair my appliance. Now I have to start saving for the same repair again! It was difficult to contact Sears as its calling center is outside the US, and the only option was to make another appointment. I had to pretend to need a different repair to get to someone who transferred me to the automated voice system again. This happened several times. I had to talk to three different reps to cancel my order. To get a refund, which I'm still waiting to receive, I had to press hard and tell them that I was filing a complaint with some government agencies as it seemed like they were running a scamming business. Dealing with Sears Repair was not a pleasant experience. In fact, it was full of stress and anxiety. And to think that Sears was one of my favorite stores for appliances and almost everything else.
I had a Sears repairman scheduled to fix a leak in my Whirlpool washing machine. I was finding a puddle of water coming from the bottom of the washer. He ran it thru the quick wash cycle & not finding anything pertinent, made some type of asinine excuse that there was a blockage in my pipe & the water was backing up in the release hose. Showed me indications of where the water was backing up. I watched him the whole time & not once did I see any water squirting from the water exit hose. I washed clothes as normal & today I found a huge puddle of water on my floor coming from underneath the washing machine. $188.00 later... now I prob have to call a plumber to really see what's going on... coz the repairman sure didn't fix it.
Purchased a warranty and now they have failed to diagnose or repair. Last repair lasted on 4 months. The service company they sent can not do work unless authorized and they said "never use Sears ( a bankrupt company) but use American Home Shield as they are very good to work with". Still waiting on a call back.
Worst home warranty to have. We pay a automatic fee every month. I paid a additional 75.00 fee to have a appointment set. It was to be on Friday July 2 2021 with Air Force 1 out of Marshall Texas. Nobody contacted me to say they were not coming out. I contacted them they kept my 75.00 appointment fee and have yet to provide a repair person to fix my washer. Their corporate office is closed today July 5 2021 it's Monday not a holiday. Sears sold this out to Cinch worst customer service, no repairs no response. It's so bad I'm canceling after years of being a customer. I've bought another home warranty with another company. I will be fighting to get my 75,00 appointment fee back since nobody showed up or responded in anyway. Save yourself money and aggravation. Go with American Home Shield, American Residential any other home warranty company. This one SUCKS!

Have been using Sears for many years. That relationship is coming to a close. Oven broke. They sent a part... broke. Rescheduled for two weeks later. On the day of the appointment they cancel by a text (no explanation). Now have to wait another week. Would you spend $5000 to have this kind of service... I didn't think so. I wonder if this part of Sears is going out of business too? STAY AWAY FROM SEARS HOME SERVICES!
Visit confirmed for today. Waited all afternoon for the technician and of course no one showed up. They asked me to empty and defrost my refrigerator 24 hours before the visit. Called and they told me there is nothing they can do. They rescheduled me another week out. I asked for a refund of my $75 deductible since they never notified me of the delay and that was denied. Do not use this service!
I reached out to Sears Home Repair to get a part from my dryer replaced. A technician came out and within a few minutes he said he knew exactly what part to order. He showed me a price of $341.63 which, I assumed was parts & labor (minus the advertised $149.00 initial fee to come out and accept the repair) No, they did not deduct the $149 fee for accepting. After later research, I found the part wasn't even $50.00, that means the rest was labor. Unfortunately, I didn't know the price of the part from the labor and, in my opinion, was overcharged! I am SO dissatisfied with this whole process! THREE DAYS I was not able to work because the window of arrival time is 8-5. Forget about customer service, it is nearly impossible to find someone to speak to about anything. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. As I can see from other reviews, some of the SAME THINGS have happened to others.
They sent two third party techs to, perform the diagnostic and they determined the appliance needed a control panel. I authorized the order and they said they would return in three weeks Six weeks later I finally was told they no longer have the part and they will not refund the diagnostic fee of $249. A control panel is a primary, standard part. They are not equipped or capable of repairing the problem but they are happy to come out and tell you that your appliance is broken for the $249,, promise to return soon and then leave you hanging. Horrible overall experience! Avoid this company and save your money!
Purchased a Kenmore gas range 5 days ago. It threw a f231 error code. I have turned off the power to the range 2 different times and unplugged it. I have a manufacture warranty. The code has come back. I have chatted via messaging with 1 person, and 4 people over the phone over a 3 1/2 hour time period with nothing to show for it except frustration. So Disappointed! I will never purchase Kenmore appliances based on their customer service again. I will let anyone who will listen, do not purchase their items!

This has been terrible, windows were ordered in July it is now the end of September and still not installed. Very difficult to get someone on the phone. Wrong window was ordered, and found after they broke the one to be replaced. There has been many other problems. I have more windows to be replaced, it will not be by Sears
Avoid Sears Home Repair, it is a terrible company with no one accountable for anything. I spent 35 minutes on the phone to a call center in the Philippines just to get an appointment. Then no one called or showed up. Then I spent another 45 minutes trying to get another appointment and the agent said that they had no appointments in the near future and hung up. This company should be investigated by the Better Business Bureau or a class-action lawsuit should be filed against them
Three confirmed appointments cancelled for no explanation with 0 notice, followed by two rescheduled appointments that were no-shows. If they cancel or no-show they drop you out of the queue entirely and you have to re-book for a later date a week out. And every single "help" chat ends with the bot attempting to upsell me on more services.

You will get ripped off. It's just a question of how much $. There come out and quote an outrageous fee for simple job like replace Icemaker. I mean you could buy a new fridge for what they quote. I had to pay $139 for him coming out. I wish I read these other reviews first.
Got a "Deluxe" lawn mower service, the Tech did not replaced the blades, i notice that 10 minutes after he left and contacted customer service, they could not make him come back and wanted to reschedule the service 3 days later, I asked for reimbursement, and they could not do it, I can't just take other day off from work to wait for them to came back. Basically the tech stole from me and the company back him up.
It took almost 4 weeks to get the repair person to replace the parts that were sent to me three weeks before somebody showed up to do the work. I was also supposed to get a refund of 50.00 it has been over a month have not seen that. So much for that. I printed the conversation on the chat line for proof still nothing.!
The technician come and was talking on his phone for instructions on how to do his work. What an on-site training! Unbelievable. He told us to do more exam we have to pay another 600$ besides the current exam fee. What the heck and advise us to buy a new one. My husband asked him a very relevant and basic question about our fridge but he couldn't even answer. What a layman! Btw, as he promised will send the report which is a very vague and simple invoice with the nothing about the exam results.

The freezer of my LG side-by-side refrigerator stopped working but the refrigerator was still working. Service man came out, said it was a bad compressor and that he'd have to order the parts to repair it. Then, without warning me, cut out the current compressor so the refrigerator wouldn't work at all. Not having a backup refrigerator, I lost a refrigerator full of food. Customer service hung up on us multiple times trying to get this resolved. I will NEVER use SearsHomeServices again.
Product Review. This refrigerator is a "Lemon". Purchased 11/1916. Compressor went out in January 2019, then the ice maker June 2019, now we have had four services calls for the defrost unit since January, 2020. We are now waiting for more new parts to be installed. Each time a service person installs parts that continue to fail.
Service call 6/29/20. We waited for service and the tech never showed. Called and was told that the tech called us (a lie, we were never called). Now another service call set for 7/9/20.27 days waiting for service. If this repair doesn't work, we are dumping the refrigerator and Sears Home Services that we pay $49 a month for!
