I just had a bad experience with a dealer who said i needed a new battery. They even told me not to turn off my car, but i did. Turns out my car started up again and the wonderful service person at Advance checked it out for me and it was good. I cannot for the life of me understand why dealer's service techs want to mislead customers. Oh yeah, it's about money. Please, if you are told you need a battery at a dealer in Salisbury, NC, run to Advance to get it!
About 4 months ago i bought a car batery, the batery was bead and i went to the farmers branch branch to swichit as the battery insurance had not expired, the store manager did not aproved the exchance due to I did not removed the battery out my car, I scalate the issue to the corporated office and they COULD NOT HELP ME, the issue ended when I talk to the regional manager and the store manager started laughing in my face, the battery price was almost $300.00, i guess this people dont care about they coustumers, one think is for shure I WILL NEVER BUY IN THIS AUTO PARTS STORE EVER, I will pass my experience to my family and friends as and advice before they go there.
After a long while I was able to talk to someone that I thought was very helpful. Turned out to be blowing smoke up my a**. I stayed focused and relentless. Finally got my money back.
I ordered a torque converter and paid for it online. Then I went to the store to pick it up. When they gave it to me I looked it over and it wasn't the right one. They said Money would be put back on my card. 3 weeks later I call to check on my refund. I gave them the order #, date, and the amount. First I was told that order don't show up. I give my email. Then they said I never paid for it. I said I have the receipt. Then they ask if I have a bank statement. I said yes. Then they said I have to go back to the store to show proof. So I go to the store. The guy there said whoever I was talking to on the phone called them and said I have to come back on Monday. If there's nothing saying I paid for it how did the I talked on the phone know what store to call? Tell me to go there then tell them to send me back home. $300 I feel they are trying to steal from me. I have all the proof and they are acting like I'm in the wrong. What a way to treat their costumers

Bought an item with these guys for same day delivery important item couldn't head to the store at the moment so I ordered the part online for same day delivery the next day I reach out to advance auto parts only to tell me that the order is ready just needs a driver mind you I ordered this item the day before at 440 pm paying the after 5 o clock charge for delivery and nothing SMH shame on you guys
Do not allow online returns and the local reps will treat you like dirt when you try to return it locally. Online supervisors are rude and do not care about bad online reviews.
I like this site because they lay everything out very easily. I found the part and price very quick. Shipping was good and the product was as described.
I was sent two Left calipers after a week later, and I argued with the guy even after I sent two sets of pictures of the wrong parts that were stamped with a L on the part... very unprofessional...

Went to this location (Store # *******) on Sept. 11 Sunday afternoon for a battery check, they checked and said I need a new battery. I gave them the make & model of the car (2018 Toyota Highlander) and bought the new battery, which cost $270.37 with Tax and other charges. As soon as I reached my home, which is only 5 minutes from this location, I tried to install the new battery and found out that the battery terminals are too thin compared to the original battery which came with the car, and the connection is too loose. (I haven't broken the seal on the positive terminal yet). I called the store and they told me to bring the battery back. I went there immediately with the battery, but the salesperson said, "an electronic part which is once sold can not be returned". I didn't pick the battery, I just gave them the model number and they selected the battery (and I am back within 30 minutes). After much debate, they called the manager (** see the 2nd part of the story below**), who gave me the same answer "it is the company policy". Finally, they allowed me to return the battery and refund the money and told me that this time they are making an exception and never will do it again. That's fine because that's my last trip to that store.
***2nd part of the story**
The manager came out of his room coughing very heavily, wearing no mask. Unfortunately, I didn't have a mask either. Now I am sitting at home with COVID. What an experience!
Had the worst experience at this specific store on 24th St in Omaha,Ne. Only 3 customers, but when the service tech went to get my part he was gone 10 minutes and chatting with another worker where we could see him. One customer walked out because of the wait and the Asst. Manager Karlin made it clear he was doing inventory and not helping customers. Only one service tech was helping people.
When the part wasn't in stock we asked if he could find another store with the part and make sure it was in stock. He did as he should of and was put on hold. Karlin asked what was taking so long and when the service tech explained Karlin told us to call them ourselves and get out of the way. When I advised him that he could just wait on the other customers himself he became angry and told me to leave. When I mentioned that this is a service all his competitors gladly do he then banned me from the store and made threats.
Very unprofessional service from Karlin and will never visit again. I will be contacting his manager.

I bought an alternator at Advance Auto on Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, Maryland on Nov. 24,2019 which they claim has a lifetime warranty. Monday the alternator froze up causing the drive belt to break which in turn damaged the tensioner pulley. I went to Advance Auto and asked the manager (Kirk) about getting them to replace the damaged parts due to their faulty alternator but had little success. The manager replaced the alternator but refused to replace the other parts but did give me a 20 percent discount.
I went home, installed the parts, and once I had it running, realized it damaged something else, the radiator was busted and leaking so now I had to replace it. Back to Advance to see if they would give me some kind of a discount since their alternator caused all this damage. Speaking with the manager (Kirk) was a total waste of time. He was very rude and ignorant. When I asked him about giving me a discount on the radiator, he laughed in my face and told me he would not give me a discount. He claimed that the alternator which had a lifetime warranty was a remanufactured part so what did I expect. In other words, apparently they sell parts that are never intended to last. He was totally rude and humiliated me in front of other customers so I told him I will never buy from Advance again. Went to another parts store and told their manager about what had happened and to my surprise, he gave me a fifty dollar discount on a new radiator. From now on I will take my business to him.

After trying to return a exhaust elbow I was declined the return. It was never used and has a 1yr warranty. 2 weeks after purchase I realized it wasn't needed. I was instructed to call TRE a company who handled there disputes. Could not understand this person and after many phone calls never reached a conclusion. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT ADVANCED AUTO PARTS AGAIN!
Had to buy a battery from an Advanced Auto Parts because I was stranded out of town. I thought a $200 battery with a 2 year warranty would last a while. 6 months later I was stranded again with a dead battery. Took the battery in to the Texas City location and they replaced it with a new one & prorated the warranty so I thought everything was good. Installed the battery & car started up. Next morning cr wouldn't start so stranded once again! Thought no way it could be battery again so had to get it to the dealership for a diagnostic. Sure enough it was another bad battery! Had dealership install a different battery because I needed my car for work. Dealership said the battery was leaking acid & they had to dispose of it. Went back to Advanced Auto in Texas City & they wouldn't do anything because I didn't bring in the old battery. All of this happened in the same week & I had receipts but they wouldn't do any kind of refund or credit.,NOTHING! Not even an apology, no concern, just a NO with an attitude! Don't buy batteries from this store because they are crap. Don't use the Texas City store if you care about good customer service because the manager doesn't know what good customer service is!

Before you buy anything from advanced auto go online and make sure that its not on the list of non refundable items that nobody in the store will tell you about.

They wont tell you at the store or online before you buy something. Also, be aware that some of the items on the list are actually CATEGORIES! Fore example The Bullet point "AC" stands for ANYTHING that's part of, or connected to, the AC system! The only point when you will be told of this list is when you try to return a item and they refuse to process the return. Their only response will be to give you a paper with a number to call. The person behind the counter will say that it might be a quick call, but they know that is a lie, as the company on the other end, (NOT advanced auto) does not have the ability to do anything. The company will only be able to provide a physical street address that you can PHYSICALLY MAIL A LETTER TO! Ending the call by stating very clearly, that they are NOT guaranteeing anything will come of the request if it is mailed. I bought an AC compressor from these people for over 500 dollars, and its now nothing more than a paperweight.

I recently purchased a bearable timing solenoid in Lenoir North Carolina I paid $85 for this part that was supposed to fit my 2006 Hyundai Elantra the part wouldn't even fit it wasn't even made to same when I tried to get them to correct it they wanted me to pay them again they wouldn't refund my money they said it was against store policy because it's an electrical part so I left the store frustrated and I told the manager I will never buy another part from advance Auto parts and I will tell all of my friends about it so in the end after getting me the wrong part and charging me $85 for it they they never gained anything because in the end they won't get any more money from me for their parts or any of my friends or anyone I choose to tell about this this is a bad way to conduct the business the manager over the store in Lenoir North Carolina should be fired
I witnessed a worker very rude to a customer. It was very uncalled for. I will never go back to that store.
I purchase a fuel pump for my 1979 Jeep CJ7, replaced it drove about 200 miles on it, it stops pumping. Towed home tested the pump no pressure, the Ramsey NY location did not have another pump so I went the Nanuet New York Advance auto. Nanuet said they could not refund me for the purchase of the 2nd pump I had to go back to Ramsey for my refund of the bad pump.
So installed the 2nd pump from Nanuet it leaked fuel. I sourced a 3rd pump from a different parts supplier. That pump is running fine.
I returned to the Ramsey Advanced Auto to get a refund and I am told they could only do an exchange, I told them I did not need an exchange as all ready replaced both pumps as they were defective. I was told they could not issue a refund or give me a store credit.
I have just finished restoring the Jeep and have hundreds if not thousands of dollars of Advanced Auto's parts in the Jeep. I am not adding the thousands of dollars of parts for my other vesicles.
I will not be using you company as you do not support the Advanced Auto Company as they do not stand up for their customers.
