“Beautiful Books and Cards”

I've created 27 projects over the past 15 years on Shutterfly. This includes 15 different photo books. Each and every time, I've always received excellent, professional customer service and beautiful books. I custom design all my books. There may have been a couple of times over the years that I needed Shutterfly to help with a mistake. However, they stand behind there products 100%. If you aren't an experienced design person then ask for help. Use high quality photos! Remember Shutterfly didn't take the pictures. The photo quality of books and cards depend on what you upload. Low quality photos will create poor quality projects; so don't blame Shutterfly for your photos. They will make what you approve. Start your project early enough to allow for help and receive book in ample time in case the book or cards need to be possibly replaced if it's the direct fault of Shutterfly.

I ordered three photo books. The order was processed, they gave me a delivery date and then only one book came in the mail. No explanation- I figured it was an error and called customer service. I was told that it would come in two shipments---Why? This makes no sense and was a huge inconvenience. Now I see all the complaints I understand this is not a one off. I will not use them again. Way too expensive for such poor service!

I couldn't be happier with how ways it was to upload and edit photos. Quick production and delivery. Order made, and book received in 5 days. Product is beautiful

I am sitting here in tears because my daughters FIRST birthday party invitations were cancelled without a notification because of a problem with the printers. I did not receive a notification at all and the customer service rep could not tell me why.

I did get a daily email about some sort of stupid sale the company was having for the 100th time. But NOT ONE NOTIFICATION about my cancelled order.

The experience on shutterfly starts off great, but you soon realize they will upsell you on everything, so that somewhat reasonably priced photobook you thought you were going to be creating goes for ~$40 costs over $100 by the time you check out. To give an example, you have to PAY to have the shutterfly logo removed from the photobook you create. That's ridiculous. Very sneaky, very crafty, but by the time you've invested 3 or 4 hours to do the design and then realize how much the final product is going to cost you, you are effectively left with two choices - pay $100 when you were only really willing to pay $40 because of all the little extras you have to pay for, or start from scratch on another site that is a little more transparent with their pricing. They also charged my credit card $29 for overseas shipping when I was quoted $9.95 in the checkout process, so the photobook actually ended up costing me $120! Not happy. Given its lack of transparency and all the little hidden costs they slug you with, I would recommend looking elsewhere if you are thinking about using Shutterfly.

I have used them every year for my Holoday cards and each year the shipping gets worse and worse. Two weeks to get my cards, no thanks! I'll go elsewhere from now on.

I just had the worst experience with Shutterfly. I ordered some custom photo ornaments as gifts for the holidays. They came out horrible... the faces were so blurry they barely looked like humans. When I reached out to customer service, I was told it was because my photos were too high of a resolution and kept sending me a resolution guide which never mentioned ornaments. They gave me a 50% off coupon so I could reorder them (mind you they have a 100% happiness guarantee on their website). After 5 excruciating back and forth emails later, I finally got someone to tell me what exact resolution they needed to be. I had to download an app to resize all of my photos. Then, none of the new photos could be uploaded to their website or app. After an hour on chat with customer services troubleshooting everything under the sun, they finally told me to e-mail them the photos. Then they tell me the resolution is too low (the resolution they told me my photos needed to be). I got so frustrated, I just said forget it I want a full refund. I went and purchased custom ornaments on Walmart.com instead for 1/3 of the price. I will NEVER do business with Shutterfly again.

Lost my first order, and on my second order I didn't get the full image on the print... really you guys?!?! Yeah, customer service was kinda lost, person was helpful, in fact seemed not to listen.

DO NOT ORDER SHUTTERFLY. I placed an order on December 6. ON December 7 - everything I ordered went on a 50% off sale. They refused to give me a discount.

The order was suppose to be delivered on December 17. THe webite the changed to December 20. Now - I called and it won't be delivered until Dec 22.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HORRIBLE LIARS!

I have been a loyal customer to shutterfly for years and have loved most everything I've gotten made by them. However, I just received a personalized 8x10 calendar that had all the right pictures except all the wrong sayings on it. It had random people's names under the pictures and family memories that were not my own family's memories. When I contacted customer service it took over 21 minutes to get a hold of someone and when I did they told me that I, myself, had to reorder the item. When I went to go reorder it with the appropriate changes I saw that I still had to pay $7.51 in shipping. An extra almost $8 out of my bank account for an order that the company messed up. I quickly advised the customer service rep and she told me there was nothing she could do so I of course asked to speak to a manager. Another 15 minutes later the manager made me explain, again, why the sayings were wrong. She also could not offer me anything other than standard shipping. Unbelievable. With some patience I finally convinced her to send me a new calendar free of charge (wasn't even going to get into getting refunded for the first calendar) and received no apology and no other offers or assurances. I cannot believe the utter ridiculousness of Shutterfly's customer service. If you order from this company you better hope it's exactly what you want or you will waste hours of your life trying to get it resolved.

I have been using Shutterfly for years, and have probably ordered nearly 10 photo albums from them: but this will be my last time doing so.

I ordered an album with colored backgrounds, but when I received the book the pages all had a white backgrounds. It was also missing a pocket that I had ordered (and had the receipt for). I called customer service and was told by the first girl that there was nothing they could do because i ordered the book wrong (remind you, I've done this multiple times and have never had an issue / I know how to order from them...) They offered me 50% to reorder it - after i already spent $60 on the book in the first place. Then I asked to speak to a manager and she proceeded to, again, tell me that it was my fault and that she would send me a new book but I had to pay for shipping?

I should have had the correct book sent to me without a 30-minute phone argument with 2 separate individuals. I also shouldn't of had to pay for shipping on the second book. Shutterfly has lost my loyalty

This website is set up terribly and extremely difficult to move around and order prints. Snapfish is MUCH easier and cheaper... not using Shutterfly anymore!

There app doesn't work and they do nothing for you to get the promotions on the website so i can order them. Not my fault there app is a piece of junk! RECOMMEND NOT USING THEM CAUSE YOU CAN SPEND MONEY AND THEN WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM THEY DO NOTHING TO FIX!

They are the worst company. I waited for more than a hour to talk to customer service IN BELIEZE, South America. Clueless and couldn't care less. Don't buy from them. Put them out of business.

ORDERED CARDS ALMOST 3 WEEKS AGO. WAS TOLD THEM WOULD BE HERE BY THE 15TH AND WERE NOT. CALLED THEM ON THE 16TH AND WAS OFFERED A REFUND BUT I SAID LETS GIVE IT A FEW DAYS TO SEE IF IT SHOWS UP. STILL DID NOT AND CALLED AGAIN ASKING FOR REFUND. TALKED TO A MANAGER WHO CHECK THE PREVIOUS CALL AND SAID THERE WAS NO RECORD OF A REFUND BEING OFFERED. WHICH IS BS. AND THIS WAS ALL AFTER PUTTING ME REPEATEDLY ON HOLD WHICH SEEMED LIKE THEY WERE JUST TRYING TO GET ME TO HANG UP. SHE INSISTED THAT NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AND THEN I WAS HUNG UP ON AFTER I GOT A LITTLE UPSET. NEVER GONNA USE THEM AGAIN.

They get you with low prices sales coupons etc. and then gouge you on the shipping after you spent hours getting your project just right... shame on you

Shutterfly is THE worst place to order. They give you the run around before they make you sit n spin.
Go to photobox.co.uk they have way better customer service and don't screw you over.

Rate 0/5. Time consuming, multiple up charges, difficult to see uploaded photos, hard to delete extra pages, and hard to rearrange book. Not user friendly at all!

I have dealt with Shutterfly before, but this time 2 different times I have received pictures with the subject's head cut off! Don't they look at the products before sending them?

I have attempted to purchase a photo book 5 times today, and each and every time, Shutterfly loads the wrong book. It is very frustrating and a waste of my time!

Shutterfly does have a good product line. My problem is that their packages do not arrive on time. This is my third order that has not arrived either on time or not at all. The first package in 2019 was due to arrive on 12/23. Ordered 6 weeks before. It arrived on Jan 3,2020. The second glass was suppose to be here on Fathers Day 2020 and it arrived in Aug or 2020. Now I have placed an order for Christmas cards before Thanksgiving. They were suppose to arrive on Dec 10. They said they mailed them on Nov 22. I called them on Dec 7 to say 15 days was way too long to receive a package. They basically said there was nothing they could do until the 10th. They were sure it would arrive. It did not. I called back and they immediately put in a new order - now not delivered until the 20th. I live in HI and have very limited time to get the Christmas cards turned around. That is assuming they get it mailed out. For as much mailing as they do, their tracking system is really not tied to their vendors. Just their estimates. They send updates based on what their system says, not the actual vendor tracking. I will not be using them in the future. Three strikes and your out. I would not recommend them.

I completed a personalized order of many items. At checkout, however, the shipping charge was $33.00 on a $90 order. Never again will I order from Shutterfly.

Well I thought I would give shutterfly a chance but very very disappointed.
My mom has Dementia and has been in a home for two years and I thought I would make her some books for her to see and remember family BUT the book I got of some family members the heads are cut off
And the book smells like animal food so I am not very happy with shutterfly I mean really I thought this was a good company I guess not

I made a photo book for myself and a puzzle for my grandparents. They both turned out so good! The photo book is hardcover and such great quality. They came really quickly too

I ordered Christmas cards along with two metal ornaments featuring my family, and the delivery arrived on December 7th, 2023. While the cards looked great, one of the metal ornaments did not match my specifications; in fact, it showcased a completely different family. Immediately, I contacted Shutterfly to address the issue.

Their customer service assured me they would rectify the mistake, but the replacement ornament wouldn't be delivered until December 20th. I expressed my concern, suggesting they expedite the process. The representative consulted with someone and reiterated the same delivery date. Frustrated, I informed them I preferred a refund and intended to explore other options for the ornament, even if it meant waiting until December 20th with a different company.

The representative consulted once more and offered a gift card for the refund, which was not the resolution I sought. Emphasizing that I hadn't received the product I paid for, I firmly requested a refund. I'll update this review once the situation is resolved.

Shutterfly promotes a '100% Happiness Guarantee' on its website, but my experience has unfortunately fallen short of that promise..

Tip for consumers:
It could have been excellent if they expedited the resolution, but unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse. I would have been content with a refund, but the offer of a gift card for a product I didn't receive felt quite insulting—especially considering I was already considering a switch to a different company.
