I've created 27 projects over the past 15 years on Shutterfly. This includes 15 different photo books. Each and every time, I've always received excellent, professional customer service and beautiful books. I custom design all my books. There may have been a couple of times over the years that I needed Shutterfly to help with a mistake. However, they stand behind there products 100%. If you aren't an experienced design person then ask for help. Use high quality photos! Remember Shutterfly didn't take the pictures. The photo quality of books and cards depend on what you upload. Low quality photos will create poor quality projects; so don't blame Shutterfly for your photos. They will make what you approve. Start your project early enough to allow for help and receive book in ample time in case the book or cards need to be possibly replaced if it's the direct fault of Shutterfly.
I ordered three photo books. The order was processed, they gave me a delivery date and then only one book came in the mail. No explanation- I figured it was an error and called customer service. I was told that it would come in two shipments---Why? This makes no sense and was a huge inconvenience. Now I see all the complaints I understand this is not a one off. I will not use them again. Way too expensive for such poor service!
Never say never, I guess...that's what they said a long time ago...that they would NEVER delete the share sites - your photos were safe. Well guess what - all my kids photos are gone. But I guess it's ok as they made a mint off me on products over the years. So sick of the vacant promises from these companies. It was nice having my photos in one place for gifts, etc...and to share with family so they could print items and patronize. Their decision to take away the NEVER seems short sighted. I will NEVER order a thing from them again. Thanks for trashing all my photos. Your memories and creations aren't safe here
They Keeps lying on delivery of cards. Won't let me cancel unless after Christmas! So frustrated! No cards and feeling completely bummed they don't seem to care. Could order from somewhere else and get them but don't want my 200 wasted.
I had a fleece blanket made with my family photos on it to give to my daughter which is leaving to go into the military. I paid for expedient delivery and the estimated date was 11/14/20. I received and emailed on 11/12/20 stated my package was shipped and should arrive by 11/18/20 which is after my daughter leaves. Customer service said I could not cancel my order since it was already shipped. They ruined a very special occasion and should not have people to pay for expedient delivery if they can't guarantee it!
My mother has me create a calendar for the grandparents every Christmas and has it sent out. After five years, we aren't doing this anymore. Shutterfly, for the third time in a row, delayed our package. It was supposed to come early December and my mom is making calls mid January trying to obtain the package. The customer service was impossible to reach and a terrible help. She dealt with them three different times and a month later still nothing. They're unprofessional and ridiculous. We will be taking our business else where.
This site is nothing but a scam they give you codes to get half off but inflate the price to ship or inflate the price of product to still make what the product is normally charged. If you want a better deal go to your local Walmart or walgreens they charge less and you can pick it up usually with in a hour. 50% is not different then their 25% off.
I downloaded the Shutterfly app because they had a promotion going on photo books and I recently took a family vacation and custom made each family a book (4 all together). It took HOURS. And shutterfly did not have a lot of creative options like other sites had. I finally placed my order, waited 3 weeks and finally called and a girl just told me nonchalantly that she saw I placed the order on my mobile but that they need me to re-do it again from a computer. WHAT? So 1) Your app is a joke. 2) Your technology is a joke that you can't retrieve my old projects. 3) Your customer service is a joke. 4) You didn't even call to tell me? A mess of a company. Save yourself the anguish and waste of time. Use literally anyone else.
They have some cool looking templates to choose from for building your own 252 piece jigsaw puzzle and prices show slashed to starting from $19.99. I spent over an hour setting all of our photos in place to have a personalized jigsaw puzzle made and when I went to checkout, it charged me $34.98 for the puzzle. When I called (and waited on hold forever) I was simply told that those prices aren't always accurate. NOT HAPPY! Won't use them again!

Shutterfly has turned me into the girl who shows up to the party with a big box of nothing. 3 times now I have ordered photo gifts from Shutterfly and paid some ridiculous amount of money to get it shipped GUARANTEED to arrive by a certain day and 3 times now I have called customer service and they tell me, oops, it won't be there in time. This company has great products which is why I gave them 2 stars but if you need your product be a certain date, don't bother with them. One of my orders showed up a week after it was guaranteed to arrive. Terrible service.
I first found Shutterfly when I got married in 2016. I ordered photos and they were great.
Now, we ordered four collage mugs and two personalized beer glasses on 11/12/17. Today is the 16th and all our items came. Not even a week. We are thrilled with the quality of the cups and mugs. Not to mention the price we paid for them. We will definitely be ordering again. Thanks Shutterfly, you helped make some people's Christmas sweet.
I ordered one 8x10 with an Estimated Delivery date of Nov 19. It's Dec. 1 and the only status that Shutterfly shows is "Shipped". They also have NO customer service online. The Customer Service link merely points you to a FAQ, with no way to contact customer service other than telephone! How 1990! Terrible company. Stay away!
I paid 30 for shipping. The package was supposed to come almost a week late. It was lost and the BBB has had several complaints. These people are scammers. Just read the reviews. They ruined a 10 yr olds Christmas.

I ordered my cards with plenty of time for delivery here it is December 26 no cards no way to track it because UPS claims they delivered it to the local post office the local post office says UPS never delivered it. I'm so disappointed I've never missed sending cards to family and friends all over the world until now I've used tiny prints in the past with no issue. Looks like Shutterfly cut corners on shipping and as a result I lost out. On Dec. 22 Couldn't speak to a live person had to continue a digital chat. What was offered at the end of the day was a refund I could've had my order sent and received perhaps by January 3. No discount on the original order would be applied and no Xpress delivery. I will not ever use you again.

I was using your service for many years now. Prints that I did several times lately where such a bad quality, printed on bad paper, faces almost unrecognizable. I am very disappointed, No one is checking quality, this is last time I used your service, costco will make better prints.
Made a calendar around Christmas time for my husband and I tried about 4 other photo gift websites, including Walgreens and none of them had good enough selections to choose from when it came to backgrounds and sizes and such. None of them explained what I was confused about the way this website did.
When it came down to shipping they were SO amazing at keeping me updated and entertained with their emails and they aren't crazy expensive either. Product is grade A and wonderful. I love this site.
Order some photobooks for my wedding. Overall I the online software to make the books is pretty good, although it doesn't allow me to do everything editing-wise I would have wanted (I am used to working on Microsoft Publisher). For instance, I couldn't remove a sticker that was put on one of the pages - really annoying. If you wait long enough for the right promotion, you can get a good deal (I got 40% off and free shipping). The printing quality was okay. Customer service - great! One of the books did not arrived and they shipped a new one for free.
We've used Shutterfly for years and have a bunch of photos on their server. I ordered Christmas cards last Monday and they were "guaranteed" to be at our house yesterday. Around 5 p.m., I knew they weren't coming. After spending almost an hour on the phone with the very apologetic customer service (they apologized profusely, following a script it seemed, but didn't seem to be able to get the cards to me until Monday, the day before Christmas). They seem to be good at making mistakes, but not taking responsibility for them by delivering on their promise. I will supposedly receive a refund in a couple of weeks, and I had to "reorder" the pictures. Today, I checked and the same thing happened--Shutterfly said "shipped," but FedEx said they have yet to receive the shipment. So, I'm doubting I'll receive it on Monday. Christmas cards are too important to our family. We are planning to find another place to order them next year.
Can't reach customer service; don't allow special promotions as offered on website; don't allow free shipping as offered on website; make you contact customer service to get special offers so you wait 25-45 minutes to get what they already offered you on their website... products arrive defective; they want you to mail them back at your expense to get new product! Horrible customer service! Half the time, can't speak to anyone who can even understand your issue... Have spent a lot of money with them; have tried three different times; going to find someone else who wants my business.
I had great hopes about using Shutterfly. I found the website easy to navigate and the selection excellent. Then I ordered and I have yet to receive my cards. It's been weeks. Every order lost somewhere in limbo. The first order damaged, the second delivered to somewhere other than my address, which is correct on the order and the third, who knows where it is! The delivery date when customer service is contacted keeps being moved up a week. These 2014 New Years cards will arrive in March. The customer service, although nice, never deliver on what is promised. The supervisor told me: "once it leaves our site, we are not responsible." A company who does not monitor or care about Fedex delivering their product? Really? What a mess and I will refrain from using Shutterfly again, which I believed to be quite reputable by their reviews, but when it goes wrong, Goodluck and that is the true test of a "superlative" company, their customer service when there is a problem.
Shutterfly does a nice job with photo printing. Expect to receive emails from them with discount promo codes and special offers, if you can stand this though, they're worth it. Photos are stored when you upload the ones you want to print or make photo gifts out of. Prints work out to be cheaper than using a WalMart or drugstore photo printer. Be aware that you cannot combine promo codes on one order (for example free prints and free shipping offers) this doesn't work. Items are shipped pretty quickly usually.
I was optimistic about shutterfly given it's reputation and the deals it had. I used Shutterfly to print small kpop photo cards and some of my prom pictures which were taken by a professional photographer. All of them were not HD. They were poor and undefined and I'm deeply disappointed with my 90 prints that I ordered from Shutterfly. What actually happened? I don't know. I do not recommend Shutterfly if you're looking for high quality prints. They are not it. Please look to other sources. Thank you.
Shipping gets delayed daily and I can't get a straight answer from support. The best they could do was a $10 refund on a $130 order. Nothing will get here in time for the holidays. I'm hoping they don't misuse my content/media but I couldn't get a straight answer on that either. Absolute garbage company.

Haven't sent Christmas cards in a few years and decided to do it this year. Ordered from Shutterfly and opted for the envelope inserts, which I thought would be a nice touch. Expected them to come already in the envelopes to make it easy. Unfortunately, they were completely separate with a fiddly, poorly constructed sticky strip, which was impossible to reveal due to the protector strip over it, which would not separate. Took me 3x the normal time to envelope the cards due to this and had to throw away many of the inserts. I will probably finish my cards not even using them. A great example of an innovation which is completely un-customer focused and poorly designed. It's been so frustrating that I doubt I'll order from Shutterfly again. I'll use a competitor.
I paid premium to order Shutterfly Calendar from overseas on November 27 (as a Christmas gift). A month later it had not arrived. When I tried to reach Shutterfly I only am given option to chat with the most useless chatbot and no option to leave message or reach human (or even capable AI)
I spent a ton of time organizing a calendar for a Christmas gift. When I tried to order it the website said the item was discontinued. After spending an hour on the help chat the problem was not resolved. I had to redo all my work on another site. DONT waste your time and money.
On many instances, shutterfly will offer free gifts to new customers who sign up and even existing customers who purchase things from them. Don't let them trick you- it's not free. They say they're not charging you for the item but they charge you shipping fees which practically equal the price of the item itself.
