I've created 27 projects over the past 15 years on Shutterfly. This includes 15 different photo books. Each and every time, I've always received excellent, professional customer service and beautiful books. I custom design all my books. There may have been a couple of times over the years that I needed Shutterfly to help with a mistake. However, they stand behind there products 100%. If you aren't an experienced design person then ask for help. Use high quality photos! Remember Shutterfly didn't take the pictures. The photo quality of books and cards depend on what you upload. Low quality photos will create poor quality projects; so don't blame Shutterfly for your photos. They will make what you approve. Start your project early enough to allow for help and receive book in ample time in case the book or cards need to be possibly replaced if it's the direct fault of Shutterfly.
I ordered three photo books. The order was processed, they gave me a delivery date and then only one book came in the mail. No explanation- I figured it was an error and called customer service. I was told that it would come in two shipments---Why? This makes no sense and was a huge inconvenience. Now I see all the complaints I understand this is not a one off. I will not use them again. Way too expensive for such poor service!
I have been generally happy with my products over the years. However, customer service has always been horrible. Most recently, I can not purchase one of my saved projects. What is infuriating is that I can not get in touch with customer support AT ALL. The phone support hangs up before anyone helps me, the live chat is only capable of sending self help, which is not working. So frustrating, time to find another place to manage photo memories.

A few months ago I ordered two of the same photo books, paying extra for "professional" printing. The reproduction was terrible so I called customer service and got a refund. I figured that was a fluke, so I made a separate photo book for another vacation. Again, I paid the extra $11.99 for professional printing and the result is the same: the photos look dull. After chatting online with someone who did not know much I called customer assistance. I was assured I will get a refund. What happened, Shutterfly? You used to be dependable. I won't use Shutterfly again.
Firstly, my soft cover 8 X 11 book was expensive! The shipping of a small soft covered book was $10. The total cost was much more than the 2024 calendar I made just a couple months ago, which I was quite happy with.
Also, upon delivery the book was bent on front page in two places. It was rolled into my mailbox instead of being left flat or delivered to the door. There was no extra support inside the envelop to prevent damage to the product. It was just put inside the envelop in its plastic cover with nothing to keep the product flat. Some of the layouts which extended over to the next page were not identified as a problem and thus they dont look good in the soft cover format, almost cut and folded. I even called to ask questions about this. I liked the embellishment and backgrounds offered very much. Many of my recent photos were great, but using older photos from pictures taken from photos, some were not so clear. This was a lifetime photo album for a 90 year old so old photos were included. Even photos from 1970-1980's were not as good as the current photos. Current photos were great! Taken by digital camera on phone rather than a film camera. Overall, I like the photo book and give this a 3+/4 rating.

I thought the shipping which I paid $10 for UPS was folded into my mailbox damaging the front page of the product. I read that in order to request a replacement with shutterfly that I would have to pay shipping return and replacement. Thus, I did this review.

I ordered Christmas cards to send out BEFORE Christmas. I received a package that was empty. I don't know what's worse not receiving anything or an empty package. How does that even happen? So disappointed and unreliable. I thought ordering in November would be early enough but clearly not. They offered to resend an order but it would not arrive until after Christmas. They did not offer or provide me an option to get the resent order rush delivery to try to rectify their mistake.
The only reason this review is not a 1 is because their customer support refunded me. Although to note, I first attempted to use the chat option but the representative ended the chat without any notice so I had to call their support number.
I recommend ordering your holiday cards in October to make sure you will get them in a timely matter or if failed to deliver that they will be resent in time.
I spent hours on a project I was making for a Christmas gift.when it came time to check out I kept getting a error message saying try again later. My promo codes expire today, so I contacted customer support and their response was to delete the app and it's cache in my iPhone settings and see if that works. If I do that my project is gone. What was the point!
Twice now I have ordered from Shutterfly and twice now I have paid extra to have delivered within a certain time frame that they specify with their delivery charges and twice now they have been past their delivery statement holiday or not! And they don't even get the shipping label till the time the delivery is due at me house so they can't say it's the delivery service. Too many other places to get things done that this company offers and those other companies deliver when expected. Never again! Gave them a second shot and failed, again.

Shutterfly has stolen $54.00 from me and refuses to give it back, in the middle of a pandemic causing mass unemployment. On the streets we call that a robbery. I've never been ripped off and then treated so callus by a company of this size. Tell your friends to go somewhere else for whatever they might be looking for.
Use any other online company for your Christmas cards. The online system does not update with addresses and all kinds of shipping issues. Thier systems are always "down" when you call customer service. Save yourself the trouble and avoid using Shutterfly. Use anyone else instead.
I ordered photos and magnets of a professional photo shoot. They arrived too dark. After an excessively long chat session, I finally got credit to my account to place a reorder. BUT they REFUSED to pay shipping, so it would basically cost be the same amount that I originally paid when I received free shipping! What a scam! I will never use Shutterfly again. Their 100% satisfaction guarantee is worthless and misleading.

Ordered three ornaments. Navigated the site as best I could, editing photos in my library when no edit or crop options appeared to be available in the app. After getting the pics into the designated spots on the ornaments in a pleasing manner, I purchased them. I was excited to receive them! Unfortunately two of the three ornaments arrived with off centered pictures. Frustrating for sure. Went back to site to redo and realized that you can spend hours getting the project just right but once the item moves to your cart, the photos shift. No edit or crop options and, apparently, no save button either. I started a chat with customer service only to get generic answers and multiple choice pop ups. I'm not giving up. I want a refund. So disappointing. If done right, they would have been great gifts.

I ordered eight canvases in different sizes. Everything was beautiful and it all arrived almost a week earlier than scheduled. I'm very happy.

I've gotten pictures from Shutterfly before, but ordering graduation announcements, they came wrong, they tried to make it right and fix them by sending more, ended up sending me three orders total with all three having the same exact mistake after reaching out and being told they seen the issue and would be resolved. Just asked for my money back this last time. Started this in March and now I don't have announcements for graduation and I graduate in less than a month.
S door. I looked at my fyrurfly did not deliver the order. They said it waste my front door but it was neither there nor anywhere on my block. They originally offered to reprint. The next day when I checked the status of the reprint they said they would not and the order would be delivered that day. It was not. Thy refused to reprint or issue a refund. This is the last time I use Shutterfly. The last order that I received from them arrived late, not tracked, and damaged. Shutterfly gives poor delivery estimates, so you can guarantee that the package will not arrive until 1-2 weeks after the latest delivery day estimate that they provide. Their packaging is a fragile cardboard sleeve, and when it arrived, it was bent, torn up, and ruined the contents. UPS is not to blame for Shutterfly's lack of packaging.
Despite their "100% satisfaction guarantee," Shutterfly makes it impossible to get a refund and has absolutely no customer service.

I ordered 2 of 1 book and 2 others; 4 in total. 1 printed poorly, 1 damaged. Asked them to reprint, they sent the wrong ones, asked again, sent wrong ones again. I have 6 copies of one book now. Took months for them to get the order right. Perhaps this could have gone better if they hired people who had a good command of the English language. I couldn't understand them, they obviously didn't understand me. Quality of photo books was average. Won't use them again. Photo shows 5/6 books…1 was a gift.

This company is associated with Lifetouch so if you make one company angry you can expect to be blocked by the other.

On January 27, I ordered two mugs for my granddaughter and her best friend to celebrate their last soccer season together. Delivery was projected for February 6 which I thought was pretty good service. Instead, my package arrived on February 4--just in time for the big game. Because of your extraordinary service, I was able to present them after their victory that afternoon. I have always been delighted with the quality and delivery of your products, but this one was the best. I will be back many more times. Thank you.

For text I submitted as "events", the bottom line of text was omitted in three occasions and the letters were missing on two words.
One photo was blurred whereas original I sent is quite clear.

The shipping process was just terrible - it took 17 days and the customer service team was unhelpful. Their response was "just wait". No interest in solutions. I will never use again… Minted is much more helpful, responsive and their product & shipping is good. Shutterfly's is awful.

They need to utilize more timely shipping process so plan ahead … We are all used to Amazon. I would have redone the cards but there was no use since their shipping took over 15 days. Very disappointed and will never use the company again. Loved my Minted product earlier this year!!!

After placing an order, their website gave a range from date of order was supposed to be 5-7 business days. Within 24 hours I received a text that the order was shipped, but a quick follow up showed the carrier was waiting for the package. 10 days later, it is still showing the same message and says an estimated delivery date will be set when the carrier scans the package. They offer no customer service blaming the carrier and the season. Meanwhile they will do nothing to help. Big mistake ordering from them. One I will not make again.
Our children gave us a Shutterfly puzzle with multiple photos of our beloved grandchildren for Christmas. The biggest problem with it is that there are two holes and two pieces that won't fit into them. Other pieces didn't fit well, but these simply can't fit.
The puzzle is impossible to move without falling apart. It was very difficult to get those little white pieces of paper underneath without having to redo the whole area. I would have framed it if it didn't have two holes and there was any way to get something under it before (besides our table) before gluing it.
This particular puzzle design is cute (the entire thing doesn't show in the sideways photo),, but you definitely don't want to put together that much gray woodgrain.
My package was scheduled to be delivered over a week ago and I still haven't received anything. Needed the labels on a deadline and now am out of luck! I placed the order on March 26 with the quoted 7-10 day shipping which has long passed. I can't even comment on the quality of the items, but the shipping is disappointing. Will not use this company again.
Do not interact with this company unless you just need a plain 4x6 printed out. They will NOT be able to help you if any issues arise. Their offshore customer service reps. Only see the same exact things you see on your end. And can't help past that. Costco needs to partner with a better company.

I've been ordering photo books on Shutterfly for a few years. My last order was delivered, but I never received it. I called Shutterfly and they resolved the issue in a timely manner and were super polite. I will be definitively ordering from them again.
Very expensive for the service they provided.
In spite of charging separately for shipping on top of he exorbitant price of a simple photo album, the album took over 2 weeks to get delivered after it was shipped.
Terrible service, way too overpriced. My next album will be with Walgreens or CVS at a fraction of the cost and better service.
