I've created 27 projects over the past 15 years on Shutterfly. This includes 15 different photo books. Each and every time, I've always received excellent, professional customer service and beautiful books. I custom design all my books. There may have been a couple of times over the years that I needed Shutterfly to help with a mistake. However, they stand behind there products 100%. If you aren't an experienced design person then ask for help. Use high quality photos! Remember Shutterfly didn't take the pictures. The photo quality of books and cards depend on what you upload. Low quality photos will create poor quality projects; so don't blame Shutterfly for your photos. They will make what you approve. Start your project early enough to allow for help and receive book in ample time in case the book or cards need to be possibly replaced if it's the direct fault of Shutterfly.
I ordered three photo books. The order was processed, they gave me a delivery date and then only one book came in the mail. No explanation- I figured it was an error and called customer service. I was told that it would come in two shipments---Why? This makes no sense and was a huge inconvenience. Now I see all the complaints I understand this is not a one off. I will not use them again. Way too expensive for such poor service!
Compared to other stores their prices are terrible.
Even with 40% off coupons they are still more expensive than their competitors.
Don't even get me started on all the add-ons. My photo book ended up being 10+ items.
By the time I realized how they nickle & dime you I had too much time invested.
Sadly I would not recommend their products & services to anyone.
We ordered two photo books for our two Foster kids that we were looking to adopt. After two years a long lost relative was given custody and we were told that they would be going with her in one week. We paid a lot of money to have the delivery rushed. One book arrived for our boy but our girls book did not arrive, and still has not arrived. Waited for hours on hold but could not reach Shutterfly until days later. Our girl won't have the photo book to remember us by. We are terribly saddened and Shutterfly doesn't care. Will never use them again! No one should!

This is my first sitejabber.com review - simply because Shutterfly is absolutely horrible. I feel like the company just stole money from my family.
I ordered my cards on November 30, and they still have not left Shutterfly as of December 28. How is that the carrier's fault? E-commerce has been delayed due to the pandemic, but Shutterfly cannot even get the package in the hands of UPS within four weeks?
Not only that, but customer service has a wait time of almost three hours over the phone! I will not use Shutterfly again and will encourage others not to.

I still haven't received the holiday cards that I ordered four weeks ago. In fact, it has even left whatever warehouse Shutterfly has them at. When I try to call customer service, the wait time is close to three hours.

I made a book last in 2020. Since that time someone decided to "simplify" the editing -- but for whom? Not the buyer. I can no longer make a book myself. The "design assistant" limits possibilities. Very disappointing.

Won't use Shutterfly again. Beware of their "satisfaction guarantee" policy -- they will only give you 50% refund! Who does this? Dark photos, heads cut off photos, and they sent me TWO separate books, and charged my card twice, and I only ordered one. And that one was very disappointing. Still waiting for my case to be settled. BEWARE. I think your local drugstore will be a better job.
This website is horrible. Once you put stuff in your cart, you cannot see it again and remove or edit your cart. You can get no customer help. They say you can chat when you call on the phone. Today the wait time was 17 minutes and the chat icon on the website says chat offline (which it has said for the past three days). I needed my prints, so I went ahead and just ordered because I am so frustrated with trying to get what I really want. I feel like I got totally ripped off. I will never use this service again.
I am an experienced Shutterfly user for books for almost 10 years. The recent changes are slow, hard to use and just terrible. Your testers did not test. You tried to slimline and makes things easier. This did not work. To crop or move a photo is impossible. Accepting text is a mess. Adding photos or trying to delete anything is impossible. I am so sad your new Editor is horrible and you will be losing me and I am sure many more customers unless they just don't care and are happy with a longer, time consuming process.
I used to use Shutterfly often for photo books and things when my kids were little through the years they're quality has gotten so horrible my professional pictures that were taken are blurry on their website and come out blurry when printed and yet they partner with life touch so it's not like you have a choice to use a different app service and worse than that they constantly tell you all these things are free like free prints or free photo book but they are not free cause you pay a ridiculous amount for shipping like exorbitant such an absolute scam and disappointment
I've used Shutterfly for several years and have been happy with there products until recently. My prints have been sent faded, but now they are adding a Covid Fee?! Really? I'm deleting my account. I'll get prints and mugs from a company that doesn't try and gouge an already struggling country.

I have made several photo books with Shutterfly. They are beautiful, excellent quality books. However, I spend so much extra time fighting with their website, it is too frustrating. The website shuts down for no reason, I am unable to upload photos to an album for hours, and then it does not save my changes. They obviously need to do some major website updating.

Beautiful photo books, but sight is extremely difficult to navigate and use successfully. Takes twice the time it should to create an album due to website glitches.

Horrible customer service, placed an order beginning of Dec, on Dec 22 (14 days after order was shipped according to shutterfly) find out it is lost after spending a ton of time with unhelpful chat reps. No recourse offered aside from keep waiting and after few more days try to re-order.
I ordered items and paid for expedited delivery. The day of the delivery, I received an email that there was a delay in making my order, so it would be delivered well after I needed it. Really $#*!ty. I would not have ordered from them if I knew that. I called to check and the hold time was long and I continually had to hit numbers in order to stay on hold. Who does that? NEVER AGAIN.
Shame on Costco. You should have never joined forces with Shutterfly.
I ordered 9 Photobooks and additional prints of my mothers 80th birthday celebration. What a complete disaster. The Photobooks had spots on each page, and the photos also had imperfections. When I finally reached customer service via text, that was a disaster as well. I asked for contact information of a manager or the owner, and was denied same on several occasions. Poor, poor customer service.
After 3 reprints, my prints and books are not 100%….
Shop local, do not use Shutterfly. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I receive so many promo codes for "free" items all the time. I've spent hours on projects, only to discover that the coupon codes don't apply, without the ability to read the fine print to know what does qualify. Shipping applies to "free" items and the rates are exorbitant. An order with multiple items arrive together, however shipping is charged separately for each item. Totally bogus. This site is basically a scam.

***** Shutterfly has the best customer service EVER! I was SO impressed with how they handled my personal situation this year. I ordered 15 high priced cards and one of them had a cut line through it on the bottom, as well as one envelope had print spots on it. So, I called to have them replace the one and they replaced ALL 15 + upgraded me to the shiny paper (which I like way better and will order the shinier upgrade in the future)! I was not expecting this kind of service and was very pleased with how they fixed it + the extra cards. 5 Star Service *****
I ordered graduation announcement cards... arrived in the time they stated but when they were delivered, I looked at the back of the card and the wording about where my daughter was going to attend college was missing. They rushed ordered another set and it just arrived today. Again, no wording on the back. HOW?! So, so disappointed. Will never order from them again. Folks, there are plenty of other places that I'm sure will do a better job!
Love Shutterfly! This site offers ALL kinds of gift ideas and photo options. I have not had a single bad experience through them. I've ordered simple prints, mugs and even photo books. I recommend this site to many people including new parents and photographers just starting out.
I paid $200 to create customized Christmas cards with my own photos and text using the Shutterfly online tool and approved the proofs. When the cards arrived, there is a large Shutterfly logo slapped across Santa's face, plus more Shutterfly promotional text overlaying my photos. Very obtrusive. I called to complain and ask they replace the cards without their promotional messaging. Was told they would not do so.
Who is the customer here? Who is paying who $200? Forcing customers to prominently display their promotional messaging - and not disclosing this on the proofs - and then refusing to replace - is a series of bad customer service and business decisions. I certainly recommend looking elsewhere.
Beware of ordering cards from Shutterfly. I ordered Christmas cards on 11/29, thinking that would be plenty of time. It is now two weeks later, and no cards. They have been sitting in Atlanta for 3 days, according to tracking. Are they just lost? I tried to talk to customer service, but I could not understand the agent, and he was no help in explaining what is going on.
You pay for shipping, $9 for one item, but they ship it usps for a couple bucks. My most recent purchase still hasn't arrived after 5 weeks! Customer service says, shutterfly isn't offering reimbursements or credits during the holiday. I ordered before the LAST holiday! Horrible company. Free prints are a rip off too, you pay a lot more per print after you pay for shipping. I highly recommend another using any other company!
Generally, Shutterfly has been good if you don't have any problems with an order or delivery and don't need to try to contact them. However, if you have a defect problem on a delivery ( which I just had), there is no way to reach customer service, i.e there is NO customer service. We need to crack down on companies that take our money and don't provide the customer service needed when a problem arises. We should put these type of companies out of business.

When I signed up with Shutterfly years ago, they continually promised that they would never charge us to keep all our photos safe. Terms are about to change dramatically. They are no longer going to keep storing your photos for free. You have to purchase something once in a while. I'm really ok with that, but they are now also shutting down ALL the share sites! I have about two dozen or so with old family photos I share with relatives across the globe. Shutterfly is shutting them down and won't be offering an alternative. So many broken promises.
I have ordered from shutterfly several times over the years and never had a problem... until my current order... that I am still waiting on. My invitations were supposed to go out over two weeks ago and they still aren't hear. They have no way to contact customer service at all. I'll never recommend any one to use this service ever again. I should've used MINTED.
I ordered my cards on November 16... It is not January 25... Christmas and New Year's have gone. Can't use the cards anymore and getting no response from Shutterfly. Do not use this site. They are a sham.
