“Beautiful Books and Cards”

I've created 27 projects over the past 15 years on Shutterfly. This includes 15 different photo books. Each and every time, I've always received excellent, professional customer service and beautiful books. I custom design all my books. There may have been a couple of times over the years that I needed Shutterfly to help with a mistake. However, they stand behind there products 100%. If you aren't an experienced design person then ask for help. Use high quality photos! Remember Shutterfly didn't take the pictures. The photo quality of books and cards depend on what you upload. Low quality photos will create poor quality projects; so don't blame Shutterfly for your photos. They will make what you approve. Start your project early enough to allow for help and receive book in ample time in case the book or cards need to be possibly replaced if it's the direct fault of Shutterfly.

I ordered three photo books. The order was processed, they gave me a delivery date and then only one book came in the mail. No explanation- I figured it was an error and called customer service. I was told that it would come in two shipments---Why? This makes no sense and was a huge inconvenience. Now I see all the complaints I understand this is not a one off. I will not use them again. Way too expensive for such poor service!

I had used Shutter fly once before, for a calendar, and their service and product were acceptable. I decided to go with them for a much larger and more expensive project, 40-page large format photo books, that would be special gifts for multiple family members. After placing the order and waiting for delivery I attempted to contact Shutterfly about an issue. The message on the customer service phone line said the wait time would be over 30 minutes, so I decided to just do a chat. However, when I attempted to initiate a chat I received a message that the chat function wasn't available. With this lack of service, I can't see myself using them in the future. This review will most likely receive the same standard reply that all the other negative reviews have received.

I received dollar off coupons for shutterfly only to be told that I will basically never get to use them. This is because if there is ever a promotion (the only time I'd buy) I can't use my earned coupon. Customer service told me this arrangement is so the customer can easily understand. Whatever that means.

My order showed it was shipped 12/8/2020. As of 12/15/2020 it showed it was still waiting for pickup. The company is located in Redwood City, CA and I'm in the Los Angeles area. Even if it was picked up and no tracking details were provided it shouldn't take over a week to arrive. I can receive packages from Pennsylvania in 2 days so why can't I at least have the package pickup and delivered within the same state in less that one week!

There doesn't appear any way to access customer service by chat or phone without waiting at least waiting 60+ minutes or more!

The site is pretty easy to use, but reviewing the final product can be tricky. My Christmas cards came in with my family greeting so small it couldn't be read. Apparently no one reviews before sending them out. Customer service offered 20% off my next order, then 50 % off my next order, but my Christmas cards were ruined so how does that help? I won't be using Shutterfly again.

Shutterfly.com does not delete photos even if you delete them from their portal. Below are the sequence of events that happened
1) I created an account on shutterfly.com
2) I uploaded my family photos
3) I created and ordered a hard cover album from them
4) They delivered the album to. Quality was mediocre but all good so far

5) I do not want shutterfly to keep my photos so i logged in to their account and deleted all the photos in early December 2020.
6) After a month (early jan 2021), I logged in again and saw that photos were still not deleted. Moreover they were using my pics to advertise their products to me.
7) I contacted them on facebook AND their website customer service. Both the channels confirmed that my photos were deleted from their database.
8) I logged in again on Aug/12/2021 and saw that photos were still not deleted. Again they were using my pics to advertise their products to me

This is unacceptable and if possible i will definitely take some action against it.

Tip for consumers:
don't use shutterfly if you don't want them to store your pics forever

I ordered my 10 Christmas cards on December 2nd, same day and time a friend ordered 40 Christmas cards. She already has received hers as mine still don't have an updated tracking location! Everytime I try to contact customer service I can't get through or I don't get any help/answers. So frustrating.

Ordered Christmas cards Dec 2. Was told by Dec 18 at the latest. Never thought they would take that long. Today is Dec 19 & no cards. Have called 3x & been told will not credit me for the total or overnight new cards! Last time I order from Shutterfly! Customer service is zero after frustration & no cards to send out! They do not care!

I used Shutterfly because of a Groupon I bought. While making a calendar, my daughter started crying so I made her a bottle. By the time I was done, the app complete erased all the progress I had made. I had to add all the images to the calendar all over again. It took so many hours to make two calendars. The app is awful because if you stop working, it removes all your work. It happened twice for me.

Also, 4x4 photos are "free" but shipping costs around $7. That's approximately 28 cents for a photo when you can buy photos off Amazon for 15 cents... Amazon is the way to go. I doubt I'll ever use Shutterfly again

I ordered Christmas cards November 20.4 weeks later I still don't have them. They say they should come by December 20. The absolute WORST! When I call they keep saying tomorrow, they can't track either. Beware!

I ordered a canvas print as a Valentines Day gift for my boyfriend. I was very excited and paid more for shipping than the actual print price just to get it early. When the package came and I opened it words can't express how upset and disappointed I was. It looked nothing like it was presented on the website and worse it wasn't even centered correctly. The print's "weathered wood frame" looked incredibly cheap and the whole thing is just garbage. Never ordering from here again.

It's been well over 2 weeks and I still have not received my Christmas cards. With Christmas only 10 days away, I will have to buy plain cards elsewhere and get them out right away. Customer service at shutterfly has been unacceptable with wait times over 45 minutes and unsatisfactory response. I will not use this site again.

The first thing I discovered is that the Shutterfly app lacks text edit features that are available using the website. The second thing was that while a project done on the app is eventually available at the website, it doesn't show up hours for hours (like overnight). The next thing I discovered is that you can't use apostrophes in text boxes, so no contractions or possessive nouns. It's a service with a lot of unused potential, but it may be the best game in town.

This company is unreliable, my fiance ordered holiday card which were suppose to be recieved the 17th but we didn't recieve them until the 21st, and upon arrival we were missing a magnet as well as the photos were messed up completely and when we contacted them we were told we caused the error but why would we put a photo that are incorrectly cropped look below for the proof, order at your own risk

I ordered Christmas cards on December 8th. I paid for shipping to be to me by December 21st. I got notified that they shipped them to me on the 18th. My next notification said delivery would be Christmas Day. I contacted customer service and the lady first off tells me that she can refund the shipping cost of my order for the inconvenience. I told her that that was not good enough. I ordered these for Christmas and now I have to get new cards to put gift cards or money in for my family and friends. She come back with the best I can do is give you a credit to your account for the next time you order of 50% of the total order. I felt I should get my money back. For one I had to get different cards and they were now not picture cards and for two I ordered well before the listed date to have before Christmas. I ended up getting these cards on December 26th! The day after Christmas.

Tip for consumers:
Even though you pay for shipping doesn't mean they will deliver by that date!

I have been a long term shutterfly customer, but since it sold this year the service is horrendous. It is more expensive than other companies and they can not process orders correctly. They advertise that they have live customer service and they don't really have it. Their "service rep" was extremely rude and descending through chatiting and would not help. She kept the chat going for 45 minutes only to antagonize me, the paying customer.

Since I wrote a negative review about a calendar making website, I thought I should counter with the online calendar site that I have used for years that I love. It's so easy to use and they don't charge you separate shipping for each calendar. I like the quality and size and have always been able to find coupons online also. Fun personalized Christmas present for the family.

I just received a photo book and must say, that I am less impressed by the pictures. It is like the have a slight hazy. I took Professional 6 Color Printing, because I did that with a book in 2022 and those were so beautiful. I expected that from this one too. Not so much. The colors are not as bright and sharp as the one from last year. It shows time and time again, that Shutterfly is very inconsistent in quality. Such a pity, because love to use a website like this. But apparently nowadays is like so many other things: a gamble

I like how the photos look now but all the albums I had created were lost and now my photos are a jumbled mess. I'm scrambling to transfer them to another photo site and hopefully save back-ups, but it's a lot of unnecessary time being wasted in destroying a lot of work I had put into trying to organize it.

I was about to finalize my photo book and it was suddenly deleted because my account had been inactive. However, my project was started 4 days ago and no warning was given that a new project would be also cancelled. I was told by the rep that I had to start an entire new account ( as my current one would also be closed)... guess I will be doing that with another company! Poor service and lousy customer service! Shame on you!

Tip for consumers:
Spread the word: Shutterfly does not care about customers and implements lousy policies!

None...they don't want my business and close my account! They are making it very hard to do business with them

I have used shutterfly twice. The first experience was fine and acceptable. The second time I had a problem with them over charging me. The customer service to try and resolve the issue was TERRIBLE! Needless to say I will not recommend or use the site ever again.

Place an order on 12/1/21. Order lost. Replaced order with overnight delivery. Five days later no photos. Customer service down, so no one to speak with. No refund. No Christmas photos this year. Will never order through Shutterfly again. Use SNAPFISH or a reputable company.

Even though the original pictures were taken with high resolution (for detail), lots of the pictures that I ordered were low quality and pixelated. I don't recommend unless willing to see your great photos done injustice.

My photo books are terrific quality and the reproduction/printing of my photos are perfect. I have nothing but excellent things to say about Shutterfly. The site is Super easy and fun to use and my products turned out GREAT! Looking forward to ordering more items.

I ordered a baby book and paid for 2 day shipping to arrive the day before shower. I checked with chat support the day it should ship and they said it would be done later that day and ship. That night I hadn't heard anything and chatted again...lost order, have to reprocess and it won't be there until a week later. Second time this has happened. Should have learned this lesson the first time, I'll switch to snapfish going forward.

I love this website! I had hundreds of pictures on my phone, my mom's phone, and a camera from a vacation that I wanted to print. I decided to give them a try, and it was great! The price per picture is very cheap, and they gave me 100 free prints. They also send out emails frequently with free offers. I've ordered a free customized calendar with vacation pictures, and a free customized magnet as well. They usually have free shipping over a certain price, but if you don't order much and don't want to pay shipping, you can pick up your prints at any CVS for free. AMAZING!
