I've created 27 projects over the past 15 years on Shutterfly. This includes 15 different photo books. Each and every time, I've always received excellent, professional customer service and beautiful books. I custom design all my books. There may have been a couple of times over the years that I needed Shutterfly to help with a mistake. However, they stand behind there products 100%. If you aren't an experienced design person then ask for help. Use high quality photos! Remember Shutterfly didn't take the pictures. The photo quality of books and cards depend on what you upload. Low quality photos will create poor quality projects; so don't blame Shutterfly for your photos. They will make what you approve. Start your project early enough to allow for help and receive book in ample time in case the book or cards need to be possibly replaced if it's the direct fault of Shutterfly.
I ordered three photo books. The order was processed, they gave me a delivery date and then only one book came in the mail. No explanation- I figured it was an error and called customer service. I was told that it would come in two shipments---Why? This makes no sense and was a huge inconvenience. Now I see all the complaints I understand this is not a one off. I will not use them again. Way too expensive for such poor service!
Placed an order for holiday cards on 11/30 and was told they would arrive by 12/10. It is 12/17 and no cards and Shutterfly has no idea where they are. Told me no refunds or exceptions due to the holidays. They used a 3rd party to deliver them to the post office and I have spoken with the USPS who confirmed that they show they have not received the order yet. Shutterfly told me to contact them after xmas if I didn't get them and then they would actually do something. Gwendolyn told me she was confident that they would arrive at some point. Just a stupidness all around with them. I called Visa and told them the merchant didn't deliver the merchandise on time and had the charge removed from my credit card. Happy Holidays Shutterfly, you all are awesome! I am 0% satisfied like you promised.
I ordered a couple of 12x12 pictures and they came cropped. One of the pics had one side of the picture missing and the other had the top and bottom missing. I emailed them about it and I'm still waiting for a response.
I am dumb enough to think the same thing cannot happen 2 years in a row and decided to give them another try after they lost my cards last year and I never had the ability to send them out! They came a week and a half after Christmas last year. They refunded me in full so I thought at the time they tried to make it right. This year out of convenience I decided to try again. WRONG MOVE! I ordered them on December 11th with a delivery of 12/16-12/21. I get notice that expected delivery is now by the end of the day on the 24th! Thanks again for ruining my Christmas card giving 2 years in a row! Customer service is an absolute nightmare and you can't get a personal answer on anything. They offered partial refund of $58. My cards for CHRISTMAS were $160+! How does this fix anything? STAY AWAY from this site, FAR AWAY!
Once again Shutterfly has messed up my order! Last review was that I had not received my order placed on Nov 30th, 2021. Well I received my fist order 7 cards short of 20. Still haven't received order #2. I will never purchase another thing from this site. I DO NOT RECOMMEND them for anything!

I spent many hours and days trying to make a photo book as a gift and their stupid people sent it to Illinois i live no where close to there i will sue if i dont get my package soon its supposed to get in june i hope they go bankrupt and die kys shutterfly employees and owner u will not be having my business again they also make up excuses for customer servise which are BS
This is the SECOND time I have received an order with my last name spelled incorrectly. My last name ends in an "s" and Shutterfly pluralizes it after I submit my order. The CSR, Tamara, that I spoke to kept insisting that that's how I placed the order. I'm sorry, what? My last name, for example, is Michaels. A few years ago I received my package addressed to my correct last name, the return address labels said "Michael" and the cards said "Michaelss". There is NO quality control. I used them again against my better judgment and, lo and behold, my cards say "Michaelss" again. This time I decided to speak up. Tamara offered me a 30% refund all while blaming me for the error. Seriously? Insulting and terrible customer service. Honestly, are these CSRs trained? I wound up getting 50% back and I'm taking my business elsewhere. Walgreens is cheaper anyway!
I have been buying their 8x10 canvas photos for years. This one I just got is sooo bad. Terribly put together. I can really see the difference in the quality when I hang it next to my other ones

I used to use Shutterfly regularly for gifts but I will NEVER use them again. They are so unhelpful and ridiculous with their policies. I ordered expedited shipping and so it should have taken 3 days for the gift to be delivered and well it's been TWO WEEKS and all I got was a "sorry". Wtf I payed $20 for shipping and all I get is a "sorry"! Not good enough $#*!terfly. Outrageous waste of money and time. Never again
First off, DO NOT USE this company. It is awful! I was extremely disappointed with Shutterfly's products, website, and customer service. After spending TWO DAYS working on a project (yes, two days, because the website was soooo slow and difficult to navigate) I finally finished my product and placed it in my cart, when the whole website crashed. I was furious at the thought of my products being lost, so I immediately called customer service and explained the situation and the only thing that David could offer was to call back tomorrow. NOT I wanted to hear. He offered no further help in retrieving my lost products and he was completely aloof about the whole situation. If you are considering using Shutterfly, please save the TIME and learn from my mistake and NEVER visit their pathetic website! Don't do it!
I paid extra for a guaranteed delivery date. They waited until the day it was to deliver to tell me that they failed and my order wouldnt be shipping for another three days or more. So I missed my event and they didnt refund the extra money I paid. What a scam!
The photos came very damaged and late. Shutterflys customer service is completely unreasonable. With so many online photo sites to choose from I'm sure I won't have a hard time replacing them. Poor quality all around
Placed an order on December 3, was expected to arrive in the 13th. Package is still not delivered on the 27th. I called costumer service and received zero help. Just saying they can send it again. Do not recommend $#*!terfly….

After the best service from Costco, this was a NIGHTMARE, i tried to download photos three different times and even with their help desk still no work, finally went to Walmart and had them copied and finished in 5 min. Sorry to see Costco go, now we know why their stock is suffering.
I placed an order for a photo album and the book I recieved was all wrong. They printed the wrong cover and some of the photos I had saved were not in the book. I emailed their customer service and was told I shouldve double checked my project before submitting (which I did) and that their printing company goes by the saved project. I was not happy with that response so I contacted someone else who credited me another book. So I redid the whole book again and double, then triple checked, and placed my order. I received it in the mail today and they somehow managed to screw it up even worse than the first time! And I had to end up paying for the shipping on this book so now Ive spent over $60 dollars and have two books that were made incorrectly!
Order two pic books. The pic quality was very poor so we were told to return for a full refund... we dif and the wouldn't give us a full refund in the rnd after many calls and hours of phone conversations. In the end it cost us 20$ and we got nothing in return but a head ache and still have to order new pics from a different company
I will give them a 5 because of Tiffany she knew what she was doing and assist anted me with the photo book I order that one of the pictures wasn't right. I called previous and spoke to a gentleman and explained the problem and he assured me it would be corrected but it was not. I called and spoke to Tiffany and she correct red the problem and order the book for me again. I have not received it yet but I am confident that it will be corrected when I receive it. You are lucky to have such a outstanding employee working for you that loves her job
Ordered Christmas cards this year. I was originally supposed to receive my order December 8th. December 12th I checked my order status and it showed that the order never shipped. I contacted shutterfly and they said that my order was on its way and should be delivered December 16tg. After contacting them it finally showed that usps picked up the order. It is now December 21st i have still not received my order and tracking shows that it is on the other side of country. When asking for a refund since I no longer want what I ordered melissa the customer service representative said they are not doing refunds this year. I think they need to look into different shipping methods or atheist own up to the fact that they didn't ship my order on time and make it right. I now have no Christmas cards to send out this year. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

When you call to complain the agent who speaks limited English gets disconnected.
After 3 calls to Shutterfly, I finally got an agent who was willing to send me a $15 refund.
I was told that my order is already in production, so I can not change it.
I placed my order last night with reservations, but there were no agents on duty to accept my call.
I would not recommend using Shutterfly.

I just received my holiday cards.
The first thing that I noticed when opening the box is that some of the edges of the cards were rough and corners were bent. Not terribly but it looked like they had already been handled quite a bit.
Then I noticed that the addresses were missing! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? This was over a $200 order for 60 Christmas cards. I had a promo code for half off but still. Over $100 for cards and I spent the time to make sure addresses were uploaded properly and the envelopes ARE NOT ADDRESSED.
Print quality is not fantastic but whatever. I am incredibly upset about the addresses as this is the SOLE REASON I order cards like this. WHAT THE HECK SHUTTERFLY!? And the corners. It's a shame that people will be getting cards with rough edges and bent corners but what can ya do.
Wowed by the dicount which really isn't that great for the quality! Sent me someone else's photos which I have to take to UPS and when I received my photos they arrived bent on the corner all of them and had to reorder for free but of course not on time. The wood print is a blur and 3 times more expensive then the one I purchased from Bay Photo the only company I will be using from now on!
I purchased several items off Shutterfly for Xmas presents in 2021. I was supposed to get free shipping on my order but once placed I was charged $117 for shipping.
I emailed Shutterfly twice about this issue with no reply to either email.
I then started receiving my items, shipped individually which was ridiculous since I ordered many items, and found the quality on most items to be poor. Fridge magnets had weird artifacts on the print and one of them had a corner peeling off. I ordered a color changing mug that changes when it is hot but you have to put boiling hot liquids in the cup to get it to change so pretty much useless, coffee is only hot enough if it is scorching hot and the image fades shortly after it starts cooling down.
I also received two 1000 piece puzzles which I gave as Xmas presents only to recently hear back from BOTH recipients saying that both puzzles were missing pieces and one had pieces from a completely different puzzle (green pieces when there was zero green in the photo).
I still have not received any reply from either of my emails and there is little to no info on their website about returns or complaints.
Overall terrible experience. Will never use them again and would never recommend to anyone for any reason.
Worst customer satisfaction I have ever experienced, they are not here to please the paying customer and when I complained they offered the suggestion that I return the product to them and they would issue me a 50% refund what the heck
When you have a problem with your Order, and I can almost guarantee that you will experience some issue when dealing with this incompetent organization, you will receive absolutely no customer service.
They will likely promise you a refund - You will NEVER see it! I am appalled by the unprofessionalism of this organization.
I've had about as much as I can handle of Shutterfly. I started using them a decade ago while I lived overseas and had an APO address. I used to think the ridiculously long delays in receiving my packages was a byproduct of living far away. However, since moving back to the US and ordering items, it's clear to me that Shutterfly is just an inept company that takes ridiculously long times to produce even the simplest of items. Then, as a company policy it uses the cheapest and most delayed shipping method available to send items to customers. You would have to literally order an item two months in advance to possibly guarantee it will arrive when needed. I've had birthday invitations delayed, birthday gifts and now Christmas gifts that all don't arrive on time. I order weeks in advance only to see that it's still sitting in "production". And forget about their "customer service". They could absolutely care less. I spent an hour asking that they send a note to production to see the cause for delay and send the item sitting in production for weeks by overnight delivery. Crickets. Their solution for everything is a $10 gift certificate so I can keep coming back for more punishment. They still use the same tired business model from when they started with low overhead costs that delay production and cheapest possible shipping contracts that further delays getting the often weightless items sent. Why bother when there are so many other choices out there. I will no longer bother and I hope folks will do the same and save a ton of energy and disappointment that is inevitable with Shutterfly.
