“Beautiful Books and Cards”

I've created 27 projects over the past 15 years on Shutterfly. This includes 15 different photo books. Each and every time, I've always received excellent, professional customer service and beautiful books. I custom design all my books. There may have been a couple of times over the years that I needed Shutterfly to help with a mistake. However, they stand behind there products 100%. If you aren't an experienced design person then ask for help. Use high quality photos! Remember Shutterfly didn't take the pictures. The photo quality of books and cards depend on what you upload. Low quality photos will create poor quality projects; so don't blame Shutterfly for your photos. They will make what you approve. Start your project early enough to allow for help and receive book in ample time in case the book or cards need to be possibly replaced if it's the direct fault of Shutterfly.

I ordered three photo books. The order was processed, they gave me a delivery date and then only one book came in the mail. No explanation- I figured it was an error and called customer service. I was told that it would come in two shipments---Why? This makes no sense and was a huge inconvenience. Now I see all the complaints I understand this is not a one off. I will not use them again. Way too expensive for such poor service!

Shipping is ridiculous. I'm placing my last order with these people and I will go elsewhere. They must think they are that awesome, not!

Their sales are fake. They will advertise free items but then they charge exorbitant shipping charges. Go to you local CVS or Walgreens for photos.

I ordered my granddaughter's high school graduation announcements. She customized the entire order, which cost extra. After completing the announcement in the order, you are then offered the option of which envelope you want. Plain ones come with the order for no extra charge. However, she selected the customizable envelope (and of course that was extra). There was a variety of customizable envelopes offered so we selected the one with the year & a tassel on the front of the envelope. The display had 2022. ONE WOULD ASSUME THE DATE WOULD REFLECT THE INVITATION, RIGHT? WRONG! We called Shutterfly and they said they would correct this and send us new envelopes with the correct year. They sent more announcements with envelopes STILL 2022. Tried repeatedly to call Shutterfly again. Each time they would hang up on us. Finally got through using chat. The agent informed us that we should have been told that those envelopes are not editable. "So, let me get this straight...I am ordering and paying extra for customizable envelopes that aren't customizable". Ok, so I said just send us plain envelopes then and be done with it. The agent says they can only give me a credit and I would have to place another order. While still chatting with her we go to the website and discover that we cannot order just the envelopes. You have to place an ENTIRE ORDER all over again. So, even if I use the credit (and I think it was only $10), I am out a good deal of money. I asked to speak to a manager. I was assured a manager would call me It's never happened. We gave up and just ordered envelopes from Amazon.

Tip for consumers:
DON'T USE THIS SIGHT! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND IF THERE IS AN ISSUE YOU MAY END UP LOSING MONEY

Tons and tons of hidden fees and they add prices to your items at checkout for no reason. Has happened more than once. App is trash too

I ordered 1 25oz stainless steel water bottle for a birthday. A mistake was made and I got charged for another they told me to keep it no charge.The bottle looked good & they were nice so I decided not to give it for the birthday so I ordered 5 more to go along with the other 2 for Christmas.The first 2 I ordered came in single boxes, the next came in 3 different orders, 1 in a single box one day 2 in one box another day and 2 in another box another day. These all had the pictures of 5 generations of 1st born girls in my family. The problem was the boxes the 3 singles were ok but the other 4 2 in 1 box & 2 in another box now I don't have 4 single boxes for the 4 in 2 boxes to give and send each one I called and asked if I could get the boxes I needed even said I would pay for them and the shipping but they said NO as they were shipped in 3 orders I ordered all 5 of them at the same time but they chose to send them in 3 separate orders and if I wanted them in 5 different boxes I should have told them... So I was supposed to know that? At a further look at them the pictures were on plastic an put on the bottles (should have read the reviews first)So now I will have to search for boxes that they will fit in.SO DISAPPOINTED and MAD! Will not recommend or buy from them again! They want proof of purchase to submit with this review but I don't know how to do that I'm 74 and new at doing this sort of buying only proof of purchase is on my email and they don't enclose a receipt or invoice in the box.Don't know how to send photo's either.

We have used Shutterfly for the past 5 years. This year will be the last. We ordered Christmas cards on November 26th 2015. We received order confirmation and were notified the cards shipped the 28th. The promised date was December 9th. We continued to check the "track it" feature on the web site, however there was never an update or tracking info. Finally we called shutterfly and sat on hold for 25 minutes. A customer service rep checked the order and hung up while trying to blame UPS for the missing order. My husband called back and sat on hold for 50 minutes to speak to a supervisor. She also attempted to blame UPS. The supervisor finally admitted they lost the order. She stated the order would have to be reprocessed and hoped they could be delivered by December 14th. Amazingly I have checked Shutterfly reviews on many other review sites and we are not alone with our experience. What a joke! This company shouldn't be in business! Do yourself a favor and have your precious memories put in print with another company!

Wished I read these reviews before I became a victim too :(. Ordered portrait from shutterfly. They got the wrong shipping address. I thought no big deal. Called them next day. Was placed on hold for one hr talking to different representatives. They claimed they finally was able to change the address but don't be alarm if the emails I get say differently. Next I get email stating the tracking has begun as the product has been shipped. Email says its shipping to wrong address. Email customer service since I don't want to wait for another hr on the phone. Next day customer service email reply not to worry again. Then 2 days later, fed ex updated their tracking so I was able to finally track the product. It was shipping to the wrong address and would be delivered the next day! Called shutterfly, placed on hold for another hr. They didn't know why it was still sent to the wrong address. They say they will have to make a new print. Then, I asked them what will happen to the one that will be sent to the wrong address. Will someone else have my personal photo?!? They did not have a good answer. They then called back a few hrs later saying they can re route the original photo. Talked w hubby... really do we want a portrait int the house that will remind us of this horrible experience? Told them to either give it to us for free to compensate everything that we had to go through or just cancel it. They refuse to compensate us the cost even though everything was their fault. They offered $20 off next purchase. Why would I ever purchase from them again?!? Told them to take a hike, refund my purchase, cancel the order, and look out for bad reviews. Hence this review will keep on going until the company files Chapter 11. Companies with such bad customer service should not be allow to continue profiting from innocent honest hardworking customers. Please let me know where else I can post this to warn people from ever ordering from shutterfly.

They offer free stuff but charge you for shipping, that actually covers the product cost and they make thier margin. Thats how they are surviving.

I ordered Christmas cards on December 2nd with my original delivery estimate being 12-8-12/16. I contacted customer service 12/18 to cancel the order because it had been "in transit" since the 10th and I knew they weren't going to arrive in time for me to send the cards out for Christmas. Customer service would not issue a refund and told me they were sure they'd arrive in the next few days and to contact them again after Christmas if I hadn't received them. They arrived the 29th. I contacted costumer service and was told they could issue me a 50% refund now and the rest after I ship the cards back BUT I'M RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING THE SHIPPING FEE! I understand making me pay shipping if I wanted to return because I simply changed my mind but this order was being returned because they failed to deliver to me on time. Ridiculous. Never ordering from them again. Terrible customer service!

I have ordered from Shutterfly for years and loved them. I ordered easel calendars with photos of my dog each month. (I ordered 3 of them) they came with the wrong calendar on them ie Jan 1 was NOT a Wednesday. I called and the guy spent over and hour "fixing" the problem. The new calendars arrived with correct calendar but no pictures printed on them. I called again the guy David on 1/22/2021 couldn't figure it out and said it was raised to the next level I should hear from him in a few days. Haven't heard a word since. I am not willing to spend another hour on the phone and I went on the website couldn't find an option to send an email. AT LEAST I should get a refund but I will be voting with my feet and not using shutterfly EVER. It seems your company has changed, and don't tell me its COVID, its been a year surely this kind of work is ideally done for home based workers. GET IT TOGETHER SHUTTERFLY!

Engaged Shutterfly via the Chat person (who apparently is in Mumbai, India due to the lengthy time lag and wordy response) who offered no help. I'll call her "ChattyFly"
I tracked my Christmas cards from Carrollton Texas to Fort Wayne Indiana, but then for no apparent reason backtracked to Rossford Ohio where the Shutterfly package has sat since December 14. ChattyFly happily reported my Christmas cards were shipped and on their way; but did not look at the details to see they were actually stuck in Rossford Ohio.
After informing ChattyFly the package appeared lost, she offered to replace my order, but would not expedite the order nor promise delivery before Christmas. Further ChattyFly did not offer to contact UPS to report my missing package. I requested ChattyFly cancel my order and initiate a refund. But ChattyFly refused because I had to wait either after delivery or after a random date. No meaningful help.
Shutterfly customer service has been outsourced to an untrained mediocre cadre who provide worthless solutions to an endless possibilities of service failures.
My odds of success are better at a Craps table in Vegas.

Tip for consumers:
Don't rely on ShutterFly for your Christmas Cards. Total failure.

I used to be a huge fan of Shutterfly, but ever since they have re-designed the website, I hate it. It is very confusing & no longer easy to use:-(

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT start using it; find something else for your photos. I am trying to share an album OF PICS right now = can't put the pictures in my own order, & if I share them, they are all out of order; instead of beginning of party to end, they start the share with the last picture & go backwards to the first pic. Who wants that? So annoying that the changes were so drastic & not user friendly.

I have been a customer for almost 20 years and the recent 2 books worth about $100 paid, I was told were poor quality due to my Iphone 13. I have used some of the crappiest phones over the years including flip-phones to upload pictures and they were perfect but my Iphone 13 uploaded bad pictures? I sent a copy of one of the books and a letter to the CEO Hilary A Schneider in CA, UPS, a representative called me to tell me she would help me. I sent copies of the same photos to Hilary that were printed in the book and they printed perfect at Walgreens. The book I paid $45 for was blurry(which they said they were crediting me for). The representative asked me to upload all the pictures again to her email and she would recreate the book with the new pictures. There is a book with the front cover which Im guessing nobody can get past, which is blurry, it was the picture I pointed out in the letter as there was nothing I could do to recreate it.No other pictures were uploaded. Nobody cares anymore! I made another book for my mother in law at the same time, most pictures were fine, a few were bad, CEO didn't look at that but I don't believe she got my letter in the first place, I have spent a lot of money over the years on Shutterfly, its a shame they don't care.

Take your money the same day as oredered, don't send the product and claiming it's lost after 2 weeks, then takes 10 days or more to refund money. If an organization bills 1000 consumers $50, then that is $50,000. If that were done every month, an organization could use that income for one month before refunding it. After reading 100's of reviews, it seems that consumers may be used for cash flow.
I would never use this company again. They change the estimated delivery date multiple times to prolong promised shipping date, and then blame it on delays, but when you call, they tell you there has been no activity on the delivery. Tell me how Amazon and other Reputable organizations seem to get orders to consumers in less than 3 days, but Shutterfly can't seem to get orders to consumers at all.
READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE ORDERING FROM SHUTTERFLY! I WILL BE FILING A FORMAL COMPLAINT, AND DISPUTING THE CHARGE IF MY MONEY IS NOT RETURNED.
There should be an option for 0 stars. I don't believe 1 Star is deserved.

Tip for consumers:
Nothing was delivered, conspicuous activity after reading other reviews with same complaints, no promises kept, repeatedly change delivery date, delayed refund. They do not deserve any stars because there was no product to review. The website posts promises all over, and they flood email with promotions, but can't deliver single order. Customer service is a joke.
