I have been with them 2 years and never had an issue they are prompt and professional. They send out prescriptions quickly and are knowledgeable if you call.
I just spoke to a rather incompetent customer service agent named Mitch? (female) at 4.30 pm EST on 02/10/2024 who took a long time getting all the info, insisted that my husband (on whose behalf I was calling) needed to give verbal ok even though she later discovered that I was an authorized representative for him when I asked her to check. She gave no useful info, and hung up abruptly. I would give 0 starts, but there isn't a way to do that.
I wish 0 stars was an option. I scheduled an RSV vaccine at my pharmacy, but Aetna/SilverScript wanted me to pay $131.98, with a $68.44 deductible despite the RSV vaccine being covered by Medicare at no cost to individuals over 60. A Medicare rep confirmed that there should be no cost to me for the vaccine under current law. I contacted SilverScript's Customer Service phone # and was told that the RSV vaccine is NOT covered, because SilverScript had not yet updated their system, but they might have it updated by Sept 1,2023. Since the no-cost coverage has been in effect since the beginning of 2023 under the Inflation Reduction Act, I can't imagine what they are doing, other than collecting $$ from their customers (certainly not upgrading their chat bot to understand the spoken word, but that's another story). I switched to Aetna/SilverScript after my prior Part D carrier increased the monthly premium by 50% despite my never having filed a claim. I definitely will be dropping Aetna/SilverScript for 2024. Buyer beware!

My Wife gets 1 medicine a 90 day supply of Sertraline 4 times a year. It used to cost 3 dollars each time. Went to pick up her script today and it was 60 dollars for a 3 month supply. They now have a Drug Deductible of 505 dollars before they will pay for it. SO that means, my wife will spend about 240.00 dollars a year and NEVER pay off her deductible. Also we pay 40.70 dollars a month to have this plan. Last year we paid 12 dollars for the whole year for her meds, and now we will have to pay about 240 dollars for her meds. That's NOT RIGHT. My Wife has been on her generic medication for 27 years, NOW SHE WANTS TO STOP TAKING HER MEDS! NO ONE IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN HELP. THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO! AETNA SILVER SCRIPTS CHOICE SUCKS! They should not be in Business! MONEY HUNGRY COMPANY!
Please be aware if you select this coverage, as AETNA co-pays for your prescriptions, you will be moved into "stage 3" of your plan and YOUR PRESCRIPTION COSTS for T3 - T5 will SKYROCKET! Of course, in my case when I spend >$7400, my prescription costs will be reduced. I suspect most of us will not come anywhere close to spending this dollar value but this is a technicality I will definitely explore with other competitors when I renew my plans later this year. It would have been nice to have understood this before signing up for the plan and at minimum a pre notification that they have moved me into "stage 3" and the "donut hole" status and my costs would be significantly higher (I pay 25% of the List Price of the prescription for T3). BEWARE!
If you have an alternative, take it. Customer service is staffed by overseas call centers that basically function like robots – they know nothing except what they read from a screen. When I got through to a U.S. representative, they were no better. That included one rep who was so indifferent to his work that he didn't even speak into his phone correctly and I couldn't understand what he was saying. None of the representatives would give me an address to which I could write with a complaint.
After I wrote to the Social Security Administration's Center for Medicare and Medicaid services I received a letter from someone who appeared to be a third-party letter-writer. Nothing in his phone or correspondence indicated he worked for SS. He was so ashamed of his work he wouldn't even sign his name to it, his form letter invited me to call to discuss but he never picked up the phone or returned voicemail messages, and he told me I had a right to appeal but never gave me an to which I could take that appeal.
Finally I got connected to a supervisor who, in a conference call with one of the robots, told the robot to fix my problem, and as soon as the supervisor was off the call the representative disconnected.
To me It's astounding that SS even holds an appointment as a Medicare Part D provider. Paying a higher premium elsewhere will be cheaper in the long run.
I wish I could give a 0 rating Been with silverscript 6 years never had any issues they would do prior authorizations immediately within 1 hour of the call. Since switching to Aetna it's the worst service I've ever experienced. I'm disabled Aetna handles my scripts however as of 8/1/2021 they disenrolled me over a $24 balance. They do not care I did not have the money to pay due to covid & workers compensation not sending checks timely but I still paid them something & they still cancelled my plan. They say they offer emergency reinstatement however that's only supposedly if you had a death in the family they did not care about my reasoning that I never received a letter saving our money they did not care. This company never sent me a bill they never called me to tell me I had an outstanding bill they just disenrolled may refuse to put a supervisor on the phone and then say it could take up to 60 days to reenroll. I'm doing my medication in three days it's $2000 unfortunately I need this medicine who's gonna pay for it. As stated I was with silver script six years if I missed one payment with them they would immediately email me and let me know this company just cancel your policy and then tells you to go F yourself basically. It's pretty freaking sad when these giant corporations take over smaller ones and destroy them and everything that company works for with it reputation Aetna sucks literally physically anyway you can put it they absolutely suck
I am a member of Aetna Silverscript and have been covered since January 2023. Unfortunately my Cardiologist needed to change one of my blood pressure medications (Amlodipine) from 5mg to 7.5mg which seems to better regulate my hypertension. Unfortunately, there is no pharmacy that makes a 7.5mg dosage. The best way to get to that amount is to combine a 5mg dose with a 2.5mg dose requiring 2 prescriptions for the same drug. Silverscript's process does not allow for this and kicks the 2.5mg dose to an exception and refuses to fill the prescription unless they can contact my prescriber. They will never be able to call and be able to contact him because he is a busy doctor and when I explain the problem, they will not take my explanation and instead requires my prescriber contact them which will never happen. Why should Aetna question my doctors recommended medication dosage? I will be changing my prescription provider as soon as possible because they have forced me to get a 10mg dosage and split it into 3 sections. One 5mg and 2 2.5mg. I wish I could give them 0 stars as that is the amount of concern they have for my health!
Spent 45 minutes on hold with the Philppines to speak with someone who spoke very poor English. Then the connection dropped. For real issues I recommend calling Mr Merlo's office-President of CVS.
I have to take thyroid replacement. The box with 10 left accidentally got thrown away. I called for an over ride replacement. That started a 6 hour phone saga where I was told the "senior team" was working on it. Left on hold for 30min-1hr each time. Told twice it was approved. Then told by the pharmacy the code thy issued didn't work. Then told they were having technical difficulties. Then put back to start the whole thing again. Now it's almost 8:30pm. Second day of this. I'm out of medication now for the third day and having symptoms. This last person said they still can't get it fixed and could just go in on Monday and pay cash. Then said they would call me back tomorrow at 9am and try again. I have nerves lost my meds so I was in shock that they played this kind of game with their clients needing to replace lost medication. Never had an issue when they were Silver Script. What a mess! If you have to sign up for part D Medicare you might want to look elsewhere these guys have serious issues with their software and the people who are supposed to be trained to handle any exception that occurs.
I convince my doctor to reduce my medication from 120 tabs per month down to 90 per month. I was hoping that this would also reduce my co-pay cost. To my surprise, it did not. Calling Silverscript did not benefit me at all. After being on the phone with the customer service rep for 20 minutes and he Kept telling me that the cost doesnt change because it is for a 90-day supply and me telling him that it was not a 90-day supply but a 30-day supply. Because this customer service person was being very flip I asked to speak to a supervisor. At first, he refused to let me speak to a supervisor saying that he could file the complaint, I had to repeat my request multiple time before he would put me in touch with a supervisor. He told me that I would be on hold for 45 minutes before a supervisor would talk to me, my reply was I would wait. Every two minutes he would come back and ask if I was still waiting just to tell me you have 43 minutes, then 41 minutes. Now, I hung up and called back and 5 minutes later I am talking to a supervisor telling my story.
I have had it with this company and sorry I didnt change so I feel Ive been duped.
I have been trying to get a 90-day override of 2 meds needed to keep me alive while overseas. Declined
I wish I had checked these reviews before I signed up for this plan. Denials and no coverage all tear long. Cant wait to change plans SOON.

Forget any help from their agents. Spoke to 3 and got 3 different quotes. Worthless. Prizes are high and coverage poor.

Check out other prescriptions.
I was comparing Medicare Prescription D plans, in December 2022, because my current plan wasn't going to cover my medications. Aetna SilverScript, as listed on the Medicare website, showed they covered & would continue covering my medications throughout the 2023 policy year. So, I switched to them. 01/02/2023, I received a letter from the stating 3 of my 4 medications was no longer on their formulary (list) and they'd do a one month courtesy fill, but I'd need to contact my doctor for different medications. That was the whole point of switching to them, so apparently they lied to Medicare, and me. In the middle of February, I had to call and request an insurance card, because they hadn't sent one, nor any insurance information. They mailed a card, but I've never received any booklets.
Regarding the billing problems:
Late December 2022, I received a letter confirming my new coverage and a bill for the annual premium, and if not paid by Jan. 1st, coverage would be denied. So, I paid it, despite social security being authorized to deduct the premiums from my benefit checks. In February, SSA started deducting the premiums. In April, I received a refund from Aetna for the amount I overpaid, minus the 1st January payment. Late-May of 2023, I received a bill equivalent to 6.42 months premiums, due by June 1st, or coverage will end. Meanwhile, SSA has been paying them. I called Aetna about it, and they said I owed even more. The female representative's English was so broken and impossible to understand, that I asked to speak to her supervisor. After a long pause, the call was disconnected (by them). I've filed a complaint with Medicare about them. Their billing & coverage practices are borderline fraudulent. I'll be dumping them as soon as I'm allowed to. They're an awful company!
Tip for consumers:
My experience has been horrible, and I know it could be worse. But, I never had problems with my other Medicare Part D plans before. I wish our government would protect us better, against crooked insurance companies on government funded websites, such as MEDICARE! Stay away from Aetna/SilverScript!

Terrible insurance. I NEVER meet the deductible. The meds I need are not covered. I'm changing this year.
A new customer with a thoroughly negative experience. Would not spit on if they were on fire. Pick another vendor.
Silverscript is now handled by Aetna. Both my husband and myself have Silverscrpt Choice. When the invoices come, we pay both invoices with one check and combine invoices. Just received a letter stating that I will be disenrolled and Medicare advised. I made 2 phone calls which sent to India and spoke to 2 women named Niel and Jam. Niel told my husband that our January, 2021 check for both invoices did not clear the bank and to keep calling back every week to see if it posted. I called our bank and the check cleared 2 days prior. I called this time and spoke to Jam who said that the check did clesr and it paid my husband's account for 2 months but did not pay mine at all. I told them the 1 check paid both invoices. She told me Aetna only allows one check in payment for each invoice. I was outraged and never heard of doing business this way. Aetns is an insurance company and all insurance companies accept payment fot multiple policies. I worked for national Insurance companies for 30 years. No one called when Silverscroipt was taken over by Aetna. Horrible Customer Service. Would not allow me to speak to a Supervisor at all. One call or letter and this coulf have been avoided and sending out late payment notices and threats to disenrol a senior. Aetna, get your act together. Considering cancelling both policies.

If I could give them zero Stars I would, not even worth one star! I've had this plan for a few years now and have had problems since day one, 99% of the time that I've tried to do mail order it rarely comes on time before I run out of my medication and they even canceled my orders a couple times without notifying me by phone, email or mail. The reason for canceling my orders a supervisor told me was because I never gave them permission to contact me by email or phone and they needed more information from my doctor even having refills open on the order, but they never try to contact my doctor or me and they just canceled them, how crazy is that? That they can't even contact me by phone or email because I never gave them permission! I've never ever heard of that in my life! How about sending me a letter in the mail! I just happened to call after not receiving my medications when they told me when I would get them so I would call and ask them where my medication is and what's going on in a few times they told me they canceled the order. And when I tried to talk to a supervisor about this she was very ignorant and argumentative with me and interrupting me not listening to what I had to say or what my problem was, the supervisor I thought could care less and was defending what they did to me not once but several times. Having cancer you have to have your medication you can't miss doses and take the medicine whenever you want they are very unreliable the worst I've ever dealt with, terrible terrible customer service, I would never recommend them to anybody there's so many more out there, do your homework and stay away from silver scripts or Aetna which I believe they call themselves now. 0 stars!

Medicare Part D
Kafka would recognize this business style. SNAFU seems applicable.
After a recommendation by a friend, Last year I enrolled in Aetna's SilverScript Medicare part D insurance. Somehow my request for premium payments to be deducted from my SSA payments wasn't recorded resulting in cancellation of the insurance and leaving a past due balance on my account. Attempting to enroll again this year brought a snail mail letter weeks later warning the old unpaid balance needed to be paid by January 7 or I would be dissenrolled once again.
So today I called the phone number in the letter - because there was no online option offered. After 20 minutes waiting, The first operator said I would need to be transferred to "Premium Payments", after another 15 minute wait on hold, the next attendant let me know she only handled enrollments, but would need to take down all my information again before she could hand my call off to another agent who could help. My 3rd agent was able to take the card number, but said I would need to wait for five working days for the payment to be processed. Only after that wait and confirmation I was then reenrolled could we attempt to fix the problem why payments weren't being deducted from my SSA payments.
Total time on the phone today was just over an hour. And I've been charged to call back once their system confirms they have accepted payment.
Only with captive enrollees can a system so dysfunctional exist. For profit healthcare puts profit first. Imagine a business in a competitive environment being so dysfunctional. They wouldn't be in business long…

I have a rare primary immune disorder and the drug company fought against me and my specialist throughout the entire denial process. Many use the term "Life-saving" medication lightly but in my case it's the truth. Without Ruxolitinib (Jakafi), my body's immune system will attack my organs till I died. I wasted a year fighting them; In that year, I developed 4 conditions known would occur without medication. Only going to the NIH did I start the process to receiving medication. The world's best research center heavily funded through government grant money. For-profit stifles medical advancement. It's why new antibiotics aren't being designed but instead old versions get over prescribed.
Evil does not begin to describe this company. They used the letter of Medicare agreement against me when they needn't not. Medications I am on NOW are not prescribed as indicated and yet I still receive coverage; However, Jakafi costs 35k a month so of course NOW they decided the MedDex mattered. The same polite-sounding pharmacist and Doctor looking over my case attended the Judge Hearing to speak against me. They have also misdirected and lied to my specialist.
Seriously, leave this company as soon as possible. Stand clear of CVS and Aetna both. They will leave you out in the cold and to your death to avoid doing what insurance is designed to do: Cover your costs. It's time this nation moves away from for-profit healthcare, because in this paradigm, profit is more important than life. Each life has a price tag placed upon it. That could very be you, the reader, or someone you love receiving this nightmare.
Disgusting and corrupt. Stand clear.

At the request of my pharmacy, I called customer service this morning around 8:30 am to request an override on a prescription for migraine medication. I was actively having a migraine, let that be known. I spoke with someone for almost 30 minutes. I had difficulty understanding her, because she was either located in another country, or from outside the US. She said she got my request for an override on my prescription, but the pharmacy wasn't answering her calls. I called during pharmacy hours. She said I need to call back in a few minutes. What? I argued with her that I didn't want to go through another 30 minute call. She insisted I would not have to go through the override process, as it was already approved. I immediately called my pharmacy, and they answered right away. I called Silverscript Customer service again, and got a second girl with the same difficult to understand accent, using broken English and poor grammar. After having to explain everything I already told the first girl, she said I needed to contact my doctor for emergency pills. That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard! My doctor doesn't keep this medication in her office! She then said I need to pay for it out of pocket! This medication is $165 for 8 pills! I told her that's impossible! She then said there was not an override, and she must get that from some special department. I was on hold on and off for about 20 minutes, when she said it wasn't approved. I protested, because it's only 5 days before the refill, AND Silverscript doesn't pay one cent towards this drug! Then she said I got it approved for only a 30 day supply. She asked me to hold so she could call my pharmacy. She then came back to our phone call and said she spoke to the pharmacy and I can go pick up my medication. I drove to the pharmacy on my way to a doctor's appointment. I spoke to the pharmacy tech who personally spoke to Silverscript. She said the girl from my insurance company told her she didn't know how to do an override, and ask the pharmacy to give me an override! The pharmacy tech said "you're the insurance company, I can't give an override for your company." She said she just hung up. It's now after 5:00, and my pharmacy said it finally went through for an override. I will immediately look for another insurance company! I will not do business with a company whose Customer Service are out and out liars, as both girls lied to me! This is the worse paying prescription drug plan I've ever dealt with. Don't get sucked in by low premiums! I will be filing a complaint with my State's Insurance Commissioner for dishonest practices in the insurance industry.
