The website is down 80% of the time. 90% or more of the contacts are spam and many are not reported by the SS. The messages are sent when SS wants and they avoid contact between the few people who finally sympathize. They use the profiles to publish them at a distance and in the age group that they want or need movement or affiliations. COMPLETE SPAM FOR DATING.

I joined a month ago and have had at least one scammer per day that has reached out to me. Profiles sent to me are often not good connections, have limited information about the person and are often several hundred miles away even though I set my profile for under a hundred. Scammers will quickly ask to communicate through email and/or write using improper english. I report individuals daily. Do NOT join... a waste of money!

This site cannot be trusted.
They send me a 50% discount offer, only to charge me in full! And when I am calling and emailing to cancel and withdraw:
Customer service does not exist-hold over 2 hrs on phone no answer... will file complaints with prper authorities to take them down.

Stay away from this site. Not trustworthy

Don't waste your time or money, only contact was from SCAMMERS everyday... customer support could care less. I was getting new matches everyday that were not in my "criteria" distance, age, etc...

Don't waste your money on Silver Singles. It's infested with scammers. I wanted to stay local and keep getting SMILES/LIKES from far away as LA and I live in New England. Pay a little more and join a better dating site. I wish I would have done my home work before joining. Asked for a refund and never heard back!

A year ago, thinking about finding a travelling partner, I succumbed to Silver singles heavy email presence. Short story I filled in the lengthy questionnaireand joined -forget the free look thing. A quick look at the way they operated led me to immediately cancel my membership, still in the cooling off period. Unnoticed by me they removed A$359.40 from my account. No further correspondence has been received until 2/8/22 with a possible partner. On 6/8/22 a further A$359.40 was removed from my account. No request was ever received re renewal. I am currently attempting to recover the above sum but don't like my chances. If you find yourself in a similar position get a new bankcard

Customer service is extremely bad. Very few users are real, although there are a few. The majority are scammers out to take your money. The typical scammer floods you with "you are the one" "I love you" Dear, Darling, Sweetheart... geez. And you just met them. They avoid phone, especially video phone calls. They have many excuses. Very soon they experience a catastrophe and ask you for money. This from someone you don't even know. Most importantly it happens 10 times for any legit contact you make. They will also use your profile to scam others. Don't spend money on this bogus site. If scammed, don't be ashamed and do nothing. Talk to an attorney and go after Silver Singles. It's a shame this site is allowed to operate. BEWARE!

There are numerous decent dating sites out there for the over 50s. This is most definitiely not one of them.
I took out a 3 month subsciption and was looking for potential partners in my area. Silver Singles defines this as 'within 50 miles'. Not exactly local -especially when I live very close to London with 9 million inhabitants! Even within a 50 mile radius I was told this search area was too restrictive and this was indeed the case with very few matches unless I wanted to travel a couple of hundred miles!
So choice was poor.
Billing practice however was beyond apalling. Subscriptions renew automatically. However there was no option that i could find to stop this happening -only the option to cancell the service immediately. So on the renewal date, I cancelled. I was then told that they wouldn't accept it (despite no cost to them) because they needed 5 days notice. Many sites send out reminders of upcoming renewal dates. SilverSurfers do not. If you find yourself in this position expect an unhelpful customer service and, increasingly hostile demands for payment for a service you have cancelled and are not using.

Definitely can't think of a single reason to recomend this site.

I've been a member for 10 days and have reported 10 fake accounts.

Most matches sent through their algorithm are 100s if not 1000s of miles away. My preferences clearly stated my preference is within 50 miles.

Horrible site. At first they were sending matchs in my desired age range then suddenly the old men started appearing. I don't date men my age or older, I only date younger men. And the matches they sent? Each one was ugly, and I like attractive men though they don't have to be handsome I have to like the face. I told them I rejected every match they sent me, and I did, and I wanted my money back, which I got. Don't bother with thsi site

Out of a dozen or so 'hits' only one was legit. Scams and guys soliciting for their. Bosses…. And of course, no refund! The site is just one big scam!,,,

The business IMO has little to no integrity when it comes to honesty or basic business practices.
You pay a large sum of money as I did for six months and within days learn the hard way that many profiles are fake, or as in my case I received over 15 messages in less than a day, that had no profile but only an supposed text number.
My preferences were not followed as the site indicated. I asked for specific preferences such as profiles only with pictures and got a lot of those far outside those boundaries. Dozens of matches with no picture and almost no profile info.
I would not refer this site to ANYONE. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

Since joining all I get are obvious bogus contacts. Waste of money. I am requesting a refund from them but of course, I am getting very little assistance.

You people should be ashamed of yourself for taking advantage of people in need.

This has been nothing but a joke from day one. It is a total waste of money. Nothing but scammers, I need to find a way to cancel this before they charge me again.

Foolishly, I didn't read reviews before joining. I paid for 6 months (nonrefundible) but quit before one month usage. Site is so poor that i don't want to use it even though I've already paid for it.
I get the sense that the system malfunctioned and no one ever fixed it. I would get, for example, a messge in my emails that that "Karen sent you a message" and then when I click I can't find a message from Karen.
I have proof of purchase but dont know how to attach. If you give me your email address I will email it to you. Jim
