“The site is legit, because you people don't know what...”

The site is legit, because you people don't know what you are doing you knock it. Penny bidding is very strategic, you can't expect to just spend $100 single bid and win a $500 TV. However, if you spend time and money you can actually do very well. The reason people never post good things is the people who are successful at it don't want more competition so why would they say how great it is to drive more people to the site to bid against them? Also they offer OT on most their auctions so your rationale goes right out the window right away. If there is a $50 gift card and it was 300 bids it just means that 5 people paid the retail price and only lost $2 shipping and handling that was charged while someone did win the item below retail

“This is a gambling site, pure and simple”

John C.
11/22/10

This is a gambling site, pure and simple. After losing $100 on buying bids where I did not win the auction, I simply lost all my money. In a normal auction, you don't pay unless are the high bidder. With skoreit you pay everytime you place a bid at. 60 per bid, and since items up for auction only increase by. 01 each time, an item that sells for $10.00 actually has 1000 bidders or $600! And if you don't win, you just lost all your money. There is tremendous risk involved. It's gambling. An equitable business transaction involves exchange of goods or services for money spent. However, when you spend money, in hopes that you might win, that is not a business transaction, it's gambling! If you like to gamble, then you'll enjoy this site. However, it is a little deceitful to advertise this as anything other than Gambling. I too heard about Skoreit on ESPN's Mike & Mike, which gave it a bit of credibility in my book. I hope they would pull their endorsement from this website

In the past 5 months i have won over $10,000 in items and spent approx. $1500. I have been very lucky i would say. I also have studied the site and believe i know when to pull out of an auction and when to stay in and bid crazy. This site will make you mad at times and glorious at others.

They also lead you in with auctioning bid packs. They say that the bid pack has a. Retail value of $75.00, but if you spend 50 bids to win that 120 bids for $2.00, your bids are only given a value of $2.00/120 or $0.0163 per bid. So if you lose an auction and bid a120 bids there buy today option gives you a $2.00 credit. If they claim a retail value shouldn't all the bids have that value. I wrote them about this and of course they did nothing. When is a class action law suit starting against these underhanded gambling sites that are advertising themselves as fair and legit?

I am a player on skoreit.com. I actually right now can't bid because of the 12 wins in 28 days policy that they do have. It is possible to win on skoreit you just have to have a strategy and stick with it. Also, you must be willing to take a loss on something you invest a lot of bids into. I have won things where i have placed only 1 bid on something and i have placed 50 bids on something and had to get out. IT IS GAMBLING, however you want to look at it. My problem with the website is their shipping... some orders are sent out in one day... and then when the order is a $500 watch you won on $10 total dollars... shipping and everything included... they take up to 12 days to process it and get it shipped off... my question is are they placing auctions of things they don't have in stock?... wouldnt that be considered false adverstisement?

Having personally worked for skoreit at their corporate office, I can tell you first hand IT IS A SCAM! Run, and run away fast... the owners are unethical, and as of today have sold the company because of all the legal issues they have dealt with due to thier coverups and lies.

I started off purchasing 10 bids. That cost $9.90 I used up the bids. I won a "bid Pack" of 15 bids. I used those, then purchased ANOTHER 10 bids for $9.90. All in all I have spent $45 on this site and was able to win $15 of bids. NOT WORTH IT.
Even when a bid is at point of "going once. Going twice", people are still bidding. Probably "Big Hitters" who can afford to buy bids in large bulks. Then set up an automatic "BidAgent" to place bids for them.
I lost $30 on this site. Never again.

Yes people probably win and yes they might buy something cheap. The problem I have is very few people actually do the MATH. If a $50 gift card sells for $3, that means there were 300 bids, at about. 60 apiece. Skoreit MADE $180 minus what they paid for the card! OUCH! Now the bigger problem for Mike and Mike is that when they give examples they say, "Winning bidder spent $2.40 or whatever. That is a FLAT OUT LIE. The Winning bidder paid $2.40 PLUS the 100 or so bids at. 60 each so they actually spent $62.40 (plus shipping.) DO NOT GET HOOKED ON THIS SITE!

I bid on a $50 gift card for Best Buy and won it, but when I received the card it would not work. I was told by Best Buy that the card had not been activated and therefore useless. They told me to return it to the merchant where I purchases the card. I called Skoreit customer service and they told me to ship the card back and they would replace it. Well, it's been a couple of months since then and no new card. Thanks for wasing my time and money Skoreit.

Do not use skoreit. It is a major ripoff as they use bid agents to make you use
Up all your bids. These bid agents will use up to 1200 bids to win a bid package
Worth 240 bids. Complete ripoff, stay away from it

1) this site is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, so to everyone yelling "scam," they have some backing...
2) that said, AVOID THIS SITE LIKE THE PLAGUE IF YOU LIKE YOUR MONEY!

Its nearly impossible to win ANYTHING on this site unless you are a power bidder and are either reckless or careless with your money. I've seen people pay WELL over twice what an item is worth. The numbers are all very fuzzy and it equates to skoreit.com making a BOATLOAD of money. If you win something for $1.68, you did NOT pay $1.68, but possibly a LOT more, depending on your bids. I had some free bids that were done within seconds, then bought 30 bids that were gone just as fast. Unless you rack up hundreds of bids, you can expect to not win a single thing. Stay off of sites like these, especially skoreit, since its the most popular one. (i. E. most traffic/users/bidders)

UNLIKE OTHER PEOPLE, I UNDERSTAND THAT NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WILL SELL SOMETHING FOR CHEAPER THAN WHAT THEY PAID FOR IT. PROFIT IS THE NAME OF THE GAME. I MUST SAY THAT YOU ARE DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO WIN EVERY BID BUT IF YOUR SMART YOU CAN GET SOMETHING AT A DECENT PRICE.

It is a total RIP OFF... spent $180 got nothing. Have to be using fake bids why would someone spend over $1,000 to get a $399 item? Look at the closed auctions something is fishy here.

You have to THINK about it to understand exactly how it works. Look beyond the "AMAZING" sell prices and think about how many people bid on an item and what happens to the bid money of the people who lose, which yes could be you. However if you get a bit lucky and watch history of certain items you can get a steal. For example a 13 disc P90X DVD set for $6.82.

Okay so I heard on espn that they were giving away free bids, so i said hey why not try it! I watched how skoreit worked for a while and used some of the free bids. Well I actually won a $50 gift card to home depot! I went on to pay for it and everything was confirmed. I was feeling lucky so I used my wife's phone and got some more free bids (figuring that I'm not going to spend any money until I actually receive my gift card). Well lucky must be my middle name because I won a $25 Wal-Mart car! Again I used my same bank card to pay for that one, thinking I this is a scam I'm not giving them more then one bank card.
A few weeks have gone by and I have not received anything so I called. They said because I had more then one account I'm not getting anything! It clearly states in the rules that
"You may not register for more than one account on SkoreIt.com." no where in the rules does it say one per household.
So my thoughts on skoreit, its much like our government you put all this time and money into it and they find ways to scam you out of what's rightfully yours!

Have read all of the defenses of this site - none are verifiable - you'll end up wasting your money with no guarantees that you'll ever win - avoid like the plague - I'm from Vegas and have seen Casinos pay people back better than this garbage site - am calling in on Mike and Mike until they stop endorsing.

The website needs to get rid of power or shill bidders to make it a fair playing field for everyone. The website also says they, in most cases they just try to make a little profit or break even, horse####. When a 800.00 dollar hdtv sells for 80.00 thats 8000 bids@. 60 cents a bid which equals FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS! Less the cost of the tv, 800.00 equals a profit of FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS! Just a bit more than a ( LITTLE!) profit or breaking even. ALL i can say after visiting this website after hearing the glowing endorsement from mike and mike on ESPN is. I wonder. HOW MUCH STOCK, GIFTS OR MONETARY KICKBACK ARE THOSE TWO GETTING? IN summation PUBLIC STEER CLEAR of this fixed bidding website. ONE LAST THOUGHT! WONDER HOW MANY OF THE ITEMS WON WERE WON BY THE INHOUSE BIDDER? HHHMMMMMMMMMM, probably quite a few.

STAY AWAY FROM SKOREIT... The website just screams the word 'scam' at you. It is incredibly misleading and a waste of money. They definitely have their own people from skoreit bidding so that you WASTE more of your money. Also, I wouldnt be surprised if the people that are giving it 5 stars on here work for skoreit. Just look at their comments and it doesnt seem right, smells a lil fishy.

UNLESS YOU USE THIS SITE AS YOUR SOURCE OF INCOME (RE-SELLING), STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY!. I LOST $20 AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK. NOT BECAUSE I DIDN'T WIN THE ITEMS I BID ON, BUT BECAUSE IT BECAME APPARENT TO ME THAT THE ODDS OF WINNING A BID ARE SO MINIMAL, IT'S NOT WORTH THE GAMBLE.

A star is too much!
This site is a total ripoff. You buy packs of bids. So for $19.95 you get 30 bids. And then you have to square off vs. "bid agents" and the occasional manuel bid. Every time you think you're closing in on the final price, a bid agent kicks in.
If you want to win by using bid agent, you better be ready to arm the agent with a ton of bids. But even that is tough. How do know what price to tell the bid agent to start bidding? You can't determine what the end price ballpark is going to be!
Even if you're willing to pay more for a product, it's difficult to set that bottom price in the bid agent. I might want to pay $15 and tell the bid agent to start competing at $10... but how do I know the auction isn't going to close at $7?
THAT'S how profitable this is for the site. They are more interested in making you spend bids than raising the actual end price. That's the proof right there.
I saw people spend as much as 600 bids to win an item.
How do we know these "bid agents" are real people?
And half the time, people are competing to win "bid packs" of 240 or 480 bids just so they can build up a stack of bids to go get real products.
Folks... there are casinos and horse tracks that will give you a better return on a bet AND they're regulated.
I figured I'd try it out... I should have the word "SUCKER" written on my forehead with indelible marker.

I've been reading the negative posts about this website and have a few things to add. First off, I have been home on disability for the last 3 months so I had time to kill and really took my time to watch and learn. I see many many people bid and bid with no success and believe they see it as a scam. I personally have spent about $500 but have won about $950, primarily in gift cards.
As for the power bidders, they seem to be doing it as some sort of business so that if they overspend on an item one time, they make up for it on another time. My advise is take your time to learn their screan names and avoid them. Let them take what they want to bid forever on and don't compete with them.
The last thing I want to say is about the comments "Why would someone pay $100 in bids to win a $50 item" First off, I don't think they went into it thinking they were going to spend $100. Next, the only thing worse than spending $100 on a $50 item is spending $99 and not getting it. This drives some people to go crazy and over spend.
It does not appear to be a scam, but if you are not careful you could easily lose a lot.

This site is a total SCAM! I watched it for a day or two and decided to give it a try.My first day I spent almost $30 on bids and won nothing. I noticed all of the power bidders that just DON'T stop, So, the next day I tried again. I decided the only way to win was to buy a lot of bids, and I did. I spent almost $300 my second day and still won NOTHING! I'm a very experienced penny auction bidder too. It's obvious that they have fake bidders. On every auction, one power will bid hundreds of bids on something worth way less. Just when they finally stop and you think you have a chance cuz that person ran out of bids, all of a sudden, another power bidder jumps in and does the same thing. This happens several times throughout an auction. You have NO CHANCE of winning on this site! The auctions you see that sell for really low are the ones where real people that are buying bids don't bid on, therefore they don't need fake bidders to drive up the price. I will be writing them, in hopes to get my $300 back, I'm very tempted to dispute the charges. $300 worth of bids, and I couldn't even win a $50 gift card... Skoreit is TOTALLY BOGUS!

Rotaryguy used 1492 bids to win an apple ipad2 32 gb +no 3g +250 free bids. At the current price of $. 60 per bid, he spent $895.20 for this product, retail price of $599.00. Does this make sense to anyone who doesn't think this is a scam?

Another note, I contemplated using this website because they offer a deal where if you lose on an auction, you can buy the product for the retail price - value of bids used. Well they have giftcards so if you only spend $100 in bids for a $100 giftcard, you can't lose money, right? WRONG. They won't sell you just the gift card, they throw on extra bids to raise the retail price, making you pay more than just for the giftcard. Then when you go to try and do this again, those bids that you won, or paid for through the auction are not worth anything to try and buy a product out right after losing an auction.

I believe that big ticket items have "fake" bidders making it impossible to win, or randomly having one with out a "fake" bidder to try and prove authenticity of their site.

Sorry if that was hard to follow, but do research on your own. Go to the website and look at users who win and how much they spend on bids vs how much the product costs. SCAM. Should be a way to bring these A holes down.

DO NOT repeat DO NOT get hooked like I did, I too heard the ad on ESPN and heard Mike & Mike talking about it. So I signed up got only 5 free bids instead of the 10 promised by using ESPN ( cust. Serv just now sent me a new code so I'll see if that gives me the other 5 bids) The first day I bought the $20 bid pack figuring 30 bids for $20 was ok. I tried at lunch time (not a good time as there are many more people on then) but I tried spent about 20 min and about 1/2 my bids when I ended up winning a $25 Visa card for less than $3.00 (including shipping). I was like wow this is cool, well about $100 later I haven't won anything, I've tried their suggestions of watch the time of day you play. Nothing. I am thinking that since I signed up and won on the same day that this is a scam they hook you by letting you win on the day you sign up but then again my own fault you know the saying "Too good to be true usually is"... Learned my lesson hopefully you will too and if you have won on the site congrads to you...
Thanks

After being on the site a few days and watching the results (check out the close auctions) I came to find certain folks seem to have incredible luck. One for example goes by the screen name IMNEVERGOINGTOSTOP. That seems appropriate as it appears he has incredible luck. The screen name seemed to be popping up alot and when I checked I found he had started off winning 120 bid paks and then moved on to 240s and 480s. That seems like a good strategy to build up your bids, but when I saw what he paid and how many bids he used I was amazed. An inside trader on Wall Street could not have hoped for as good a results. All of his winning bids were among the very lowest on record and only a fraction of what the BidPaks were typically going for.

If he's not an insider of some sort he should be in Vegas not on a penny auction site.

Alright, I watch alot of sports and alot of espn. That is where I heard about skoreit.com. At first I was thinking that it might be pretty cool. 15 free bids from promos lets do this. I made 4 different accounts and had no chance to even win anything. So I started looking around on the site. I found that alot of the same people win alot of the same prizes. Now skoreit says that no one associated with its family, friends, employees, etc are aloud to be part of it. BULL****. I'm going to list a couple examples.

All of the bidpaks seem like a good idea. But they are the worst. They don't cost a dime to the website and they get a ton of bids.

But, tell me how this sounds.
480 bid pak-
GUY NAMED SHORTFUNNY bids on this 3605 times. Recall you are only winning 480 bids. This units retail is 292.00. His cost of this total was 1828. 52. Tell me that's not internal.

IMNUTSREALLY bids on a American express gift card 6461 times.
Retail 1000. 00
Cost to him 3405. 08
NOT INTERNAL?

That's just a couple of examples. This site is nothing but a scam to get people to buy bids and have there guys outbid at all cost.

Look it up guys.

Thanks for reading.
