Charge 99 a month for super-fast internet. Got sometimes 0.2Mbps to 30 Mbps. Pay same rate with Hyper at another company. Wasted time and effort on calls. Don't bother, unless you have plenty of time to be on calls with them continually
I can not recommend slingshot to anyone.
The charges are 3x that of my previous supplier and the internet is VERY slow. When I approached customer service about these issues they told me to go back to my previous supplier.
The company just bought Stuff Fibre (which we used before) and we have to use our internet service by Slingshot. The internet speed is very slow, compared to what it promised and compared to our previous Stuff Fibre system. We now want to cancel the broadband service and it takes more than 2 weeks without any response. Online chat is a bot with useless help. The customer phone line is always busy. It is funny that we cannot delete the credit card info stored in the payment method. It looks like we are scammed by Slingshot.
One bill months ago was 2 days overdue. Paid by internet banking on that occasion as my cc had expired and my bad - hadn't updated my payment details. They reported it - credit score dropped by 130 points. Asked them to reconsider and have been told no. Now stonewalled - no communication. Do not use this company.
My flatmate stupidly signed a year contract for internet and power through these cowboys lured in by $250 credit and I found out later the're charging us 36c per kilowatt and the competition is 30-40% cheaper across the board. When I rang them to say look you're charging us too much for power I'm looking at breaking my contract can you work out a better rate for us they rudely said no you're already getting a discount on your broadband as a bundle which by the way is still more expensive than some providers with the discount. A 4x person household would save about $150 a month by shifting power providers. What rogues

Asked to change plan and I had to ask multiple times just for them to tell me the total bill. In the end I couldn't get a straight answer from them. Had one of their customer service reps tell me a package listed on their website was not available. Turns out it was... terrible company

Two weeks before I shifted to new home and the same day itself I requested to transfer my connection to new home till now they could not do it. Even I requested for a temporary connection via landline that too rejected. What a horrible service. I am not able to work from home. I am depending on my friends and relatives home for internet. Almost spent 100 to 200 dollars on my mobile for one week. Two days before also I called slingshot customer service but they rejected my temporary connection request and telling will come after one weekk... Really bad service
Also they have sent the full monthly bill of September even if I am not using my internet from sep 23 rd.Its really bad...
I wanted to vote 0 for slingshot but you can't, we had months were we had to get up at 2am to send or receive emails. Service useless, Support worse than useless, internet speed pathetic, Billing pathetic, when we left they couldn't even do the credit, and after we left they sent emails saying our bill was overdue and we might be terminated.

My internet is out for reasons unknown to me. I'm a new customer. They said they would notify enable to come fix it and they didn't. I waited ALL DAY 🤬
I despise Slingshot for their shady tactics. WINZ paid for my power and wifi bill because I couldn't but they took money out of my account anyway so now my money is in the negatives. They have been deceitful and dishonest. Not to mention, the wifi connection is the worst I've ever experienced. You can get better wifi at a McDonald's.
Joined slingshot about 8 mounths ago. First problem was it took 5 weeks to get conection, second problem they started to charge me within a week for no service. After a couple of months the speed dropped to dial up speed. Their suggestion that i go a buy a new lead to bypass the filter, did this with no result.
Next suggestion is i borrow a modem and try that, i reminded them that i was using a modem that they supplied and they should replace it. No chance!
So i've put up with their crap service ever since, i have 4 months left on my contract and will never recomend them to anyone. You have being warned!
Absolutely useless! For 1 month I am trying to change my ADSL to fiber. Days of emails with general answers like bla bla bla now you will talk to another guy... as a result already1 week without any respond to my issue! After so many years with Flipp and now with slingshot... I never thought they are so bad!

Paid for the ultra broadband which is $108 a month.
Internet is very slow, every time I watch a show it lags from time to time. I've complained many times but with no hope. The customer service team takes a week to respond and they like to blame the wiring in the house or an interference so we changed to another line and still the same problem. They also charged me a family of 3, $300 power bill for 3 months even though I had an electrician come in to check the wiring and power points in every room including the hot water cylinder and nothing was wrong. Had our fridge, microwave, tvs and ps4 checked to see what was using high power and all equipment was fine. I sent them the evidence and they said, it's the actual reading, we can't do anything about it. The latest bill is shown in the photo below, this is how ridiculous they're charging me. This includes the $108 for ultra fast broadband. We have 2 tvs, 4 devices (iPads, phones), 2 ps4,2 toothbrush chargers, microwave, fridge, slow cooker and rice cooker, toaster, jug and a coffee machine and a hot water cylinder. Do you think this equipment takes that power? No I don't. I've had the same equipment before and with other power companies, (meridian), we were charged $130 being the most we ever paid for power. What ever you do, don't pick Slingshot, find a decent power company with better internet and customer service.

ABSOLUTELY the worst decision ever to move from Spark to Slingshot, to say that dial up is quicker than what I have currently is an understatement. We have fibra however, the speed check I did came back with the following speeds - 0.77Mpbs download and 0.15Mpbs upload... its 2021 ffs! Have emailed and called the slingshot team, they continue to send me troubleshooting tips that do not help! I want out of this contract but it will cost me $250. I've NEVER had this issue with any other provider and i've been with both Vodafone and Spark over the years.DO NOT CHANGE PROVIDERS! Save yourself the hassle and headache.

I never being there customer and they keep sending me bills. When you ring customer service they want me to be extremely nice to them. This is called harassing
My partner signed up to slingshot last year when I was staying with my daughter who was heavily pregnant and he had door knockers from slingshot arriving 1 day he was totally sucked in with promises of cheaper monthly bills and great fast fibre he signed up for 2 years. Upon coming home fibre was being installed and we couldn't get the internet in any of the rooms the speed was so slow and we've had to pay for a extender box which sits in the middle of our hallway taking up all the room. We've had trouble with our phone lines and get bills from slingshot every bloody week we are paying between $100-$130 per week for power we hardly use the dryer and there's only 2 of us slingshot customer care is apalling they don't give a $#*! I'm forever emailing them about the horrendous bills to receive a computer generated reply I can't wait for the 2 year contract to end I hate slingshot its the worst company I've ever had to deal with and as soon as this stupid contract ends we will be switching companies slingshot you are the worst and don't even deserve 1 star I will be saying good riddance to you.

Slingshot Boradband continuously charged me for internet booster, while not providing the means to return the item. I continually requested they send me the package and only after several months of waiting they finally did. In which I returned the internet booster. They confirmed they received it but still threatening me with charges from emails on outstanding amount from the booster. Also, they charge way abovbe market and changed their prices without explicitily telling me - email that got sent to spam. Check their 1.2 star overall rating from 58 unsatisfied customers like me. The best thing that can happen to NZ Broadband business community is for Slingshot Communications to go out of business and save us all from more dreaded customer experiences.
