Charge 99 a month for super-fast internet. Got sometimes 0.2Mbps to 30 Mbps. Pay same rate with Hyper at another company. Wasted time and effort on calls. Don't bother, unless you have plenty of time to be on calls with them continually

I dont do negative reviews but I am doing this as a service to those who might get sucked in by Slingshot Power. I think Slingshot Power isgoing out of business or they don't care about their customers. It is the most unresponsive contractor I have ever worked with. They are listed as Enphase dealer but the contact person listed there is no longer works. Paul Scherer, the owner never takes the phone calls or rarely returns calls. After multiple attempts, I got hold of him and he promised that he will send someone to take care of it. But no one shows up and they go silent. Everyone in the company is a trained liar! AVOIDE THEM. Enphase should remove them from the dealership.
Service is crap and customer service is a joke. Any problem is met with passing the buck "well, Chorus maintains the lines". No accountability and no care given for its customers. After over an hour on the phone trying to chase down THEIR mistake, I asked "how is Slingshot ready to compensate me for my time chasing up their mistake?" They gave me a $10 credit (again, ONLY because I insisted that my time had value, especially when I have to take it off of work time). Which is only more insulting. Go with ANYONE else.
Nearly 2 years of service with them. Randomly my internet stopped working, call them up, oh its because you're not using our routers, (lies, it worked fine for the past year). Then randomly after calling them daily for 3 days and changing the settings constantly it just starts working with the original settings. The support person was not very helpful and blamed me and my router. Imagine elderly dealing with this?
Next I noticed my bill had increased by $10 a month for 5 months. Called them up, oh we sent you an email, not our problem, I advised them no we had a contract, that's why I was on a 12 month contract. But nope they refused to refund the money for return the money they stole.
Luckly the waived the cancelation fee. Not like I was going to pay them either way for it.

I moved apartments, literally across the hallway. The wifi transfer still hasn't occurred, I initiated the process on April 8 2022, now it's April 30 2022. Slingshot quote a 72 hour turn around for connection transfers. Complete fiction. The staff on the technical support team regurgitate nothing phrases, actually 3 of them on different occasions reading out the same fluffy business speak that means nothing, they evade direct questions by palming off issues to the copper line owner Company Chorus. Phone team are absolute muppets, you will wait at least 15 on hold before you get to those robots. I recommend completely avoiding this company, the image attached is a text from slingshot which is a complete lie. It was never connected.

Slingshot has the worst customer service, stay away from them! I was with Spark and zero issues for years, then had the brilliant idea of switching to Slingshot and the experience has been really negative.
When you call them they promise to call you back with a solution and that doesn't happen, they keep charging you for their best service and the speed is no where near and when you call their customer service you often find rude staff, no helpful at all.
And then you have the no-dramas clause which is pure rubbish, they won't let you go without paying an Early termination fee, I see no point on the clause then.
Terrible experience, do something from your own sanity and stay away from them.
I signed up with Slingshot at the start of the year, attracted by its cheap rates, but have had no Wi-Fi for 3 weeks straight (heading into a month without Wi-Fi as I write this review). We've been going back and forth trying to get technical support, making a total of 8 calls and sending multiple emails. All they suggest is, "Try resetting the ONT and router." It took them 2 weeks to finally send out a technician, and still, the Wi-Fi is not fixed. Every time, they say, "We will pass the fault ticket to the tier 2 team," but I rarely receive an update call from them, so I end up calling them myself.
Today, I finally had enough. After waiting in the long queue to get to technical support, I was told to factory reset the modem again, and nothing changed. Then, I was told again that the "tier 2 team" would get back to us. I informed them that I wanted to move to another company. The response I received was, "We will charge you a $250 early termination fee." It's outrageous that we are being charged so much for services they failed to provide.
Not to mention all the extra fees:
1. $60 over 3 weeks for extra data on our phones. When asked if we could receive some assistance in the meantime, we received no response.
2. Paying for their modem delivery fees, even though we had our own working modem, but were told that the Slingshot modem would fix our Wi-Fi.
I think the worst part is that this issue seems to be passed around to different people within the company (always talking to a different operator), and the core problem is never properly addressed.
Please, Slingshot, step up your game.
Really regret joining slingshot, they promise you all good things and deliver none. I have been complaining of slow internet for months and emailed few times, tried calling and hanging on phone for minutes but still they dont seem to care much. I am just waiting for my contract to be over as their so called ultra fast internet via fibre is no way close to a basic internet.
The worse experience of my life. Customer services are untrained and uneducated. They have delayed our internet transfer by 5 days. Every time I ring to sort a problem - no solutions, only transferred to another person who didn't know what they were talking about.
Save your time and go to another provider. I've never been so frustrated in my life.
Useless company never had so much time wasting calling a company for broadband and power.
They charge you even internet not working. Try to hide increasing price thinking you won't noticed. Charging you $250 breaking contract fee when you didn't break the contract.
Worst company don't do the same mistake as me.
I have repeatedly had these twits send incorrect info to credit companies resulting in plunges in my credit rating. It took 7 months to get one account sorted that was cancelled in the end as every invoice was gibberish and wrong. Now on the other account, 2 payments, on time, have been reported as late, 9 and 10 days later. I feel I have no choice now but to escalate this to a formal complaint. How on earth are they allowed to continue in the business world. Simply appalling.
I consider myself respectful and patient but after months of getting nowhere with their terrible customer service team I've almost lost the plot, wasted time, money and more importantly my marbles with nothing to show for it. Goodbye Slingshot, be great to have nothing more to do with ya.
Tip for consumers:
They are rated so badly for reason, avoid the hassle

I must say they got very poor service and poor connection. Only 2 members are using internet at home and still it was buffering. Even at night connection gets lost. Complaint about this for many times with no proper solution.
Then forced to change the connection to other service provider, slingshot then forwarded a full bill even though I used only for 15 days.

Worst customer service. I used to pay around $70 with Electric Kiwi and as soon as I've changed to them it has been over $1000 in the past two months.
They say one thing and do another.
Don't bother. They are the worse of the worse crap you can get in NZ.
Slingshot worked really well until l shifted house!
And then they completely lost the plot - swamped me with senseless 'customer satisfaction' emails, never put any effort into fixing anything, sort to maximise the money they could make from me, never developed a coherent understanding of my issues and to this responds to any query by sending me stupid emails "would l recommend SLINGSHOT to friends and family" - but even these emails are self serving and self answering / flattering!
I know what a mess they will create if l try and leave - and most of their opposition is as bad!
What to do?
I made a huge mistake in joining Slingshot. At first when I asked a question I got super fast response, then once I joined, the customer service just stopped. I have made a huge mistake and signed for a year so now I have 50 weeks to go, and I am already ticking off the days. If you are thinking of changing your broadband, don't go to Slingshot. There are so many to choose from, take Slingshot off the list immediately!
We made the mistake of switching to Slingshot a month ago. They promised we could use our own modem, the internet would be faster, the switch would be hassle free, and there were no hidden charges. But we have had nothing but hassles. We spent more than a week without internet while they blamed Spark before they decided we needed a new modem, insisted that they told us we would need a new modem in the first place and now they are charging us for a modem rental (hello hidden charges). We spent so many hours talking to their customer service, resetting our tv, printer and other devices to connect with the new modem and now the service is significantly slower than when we were with Spark. We have lodged a complaint with customer services but they never bothered to get back to us. I'm super annoyed that we switched and they have threatened us with a $250 penalty fee if we cancel the contract within one year
Went with Ultra fast Slingshot and had crap speed for two years, was even slower than pre-ultra fast fibre, basically had to install extender as location of router didn't reach office. Since called about speed problems every six months I could hardly write and email after 3pm each day as I work from home. Slingshot made me switch channels every time to a channel with less users apparently... Speed increases very tempary. Have now changed provider. Not recommended!
One of the things that I was always looking for online has something to do with providers of communication services. I want those that provide cheap but reliable services. When thinking of a better telecommunication company in New Zealand one name always comes to mind as I have seen and this is the industry entity named as SlingShot.
Serving the country for almost eighteen years, this budget-friendly Telco offer the most reliable and cost-effective services in terms of internet, mobile and fixed lines. You can simply call the company's toll free number or send an inquiry online to customize a service package for your home.
My friends tried its bundled set of services in NZ and so far they loved all the benefits they are getting from it. Are you interested to avail of their services now? Just follow my lead and visit their web pages too!
We only moved to slingshot because they acquired our previous ISP. They mistakenly deleted my internet set up request, so we had no internet in our first home for several days, despite giving weeks of advanced notice. When I was isolating at home and needing to work, I had no internet to do so. Very inconvenient and frustrating, and just not good enough. Slingshot's response to my initial complaint was defensive and short sighted. We decided to go with Slingshot mobile too. Their systems and communications around bringing over our old numbers are poor. Why not ask us for the information you need for the switch when you sell us your service? Overall a very frustrating experience. Would not choose slingshot again
We have had an outage in our st for over a week. After a survey was taking from neighbour Slingshot are the only company who will not supply mobile data to their customers while we wait for it to still be fixed and would like to charge for 1 GB $12. Absolutely shocking and expected better service from a kiwi company. Vodafone has honoured their customers and supplied 100 GB to my neighbour and all I was asking for from Slingstinge was a few GB to get us through the outage.
Currently looking at changing providers after this terrible service. No help or care whatsoever
Maybe I'm just stupid, but even after I found out about the 30 day notice to cancel (too late). I took another look at their T&C's the 30 day notice didn't stand out as obvious.
Didn't really pay it much attention when I switched from stuff fibre to slingshot as there was no 30 day notice with stuff which is owned by vocus the same as slingshot.
I guess dummy beware.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure you give them 30 day notice before starting service with another provider.

Have had problems from the beginning rang so many times to try and sort problem with internet. Fibre is slow can only have one device connected to wifi or when playing game online it lags to the point that it's pointless playing even though it's hardwired im on a gigantic unlimited plan for what? Can't even use the freaking internet to what im paying for ffs!
I signed up for slingshot internet product for $58/month bringing my own router. Now i see i am being billed $89. I have tried to contact slingshot and its almost impossible. You hold on the phone forever and if you have billing enquiry, you are directed to their website, at the website you chat to a bot which can't answer your questions and just tells you to "get in touch" In the meantime they go on to suspend my service because i can't pay for what didn't subscribe to. They say if you dispute your bill reply to this email, i have replied to the email and no response other than the non helpful automated response which comes just after you you send email.
I am not happy.
Run by a bunch of total morons. How the hell they managed to change my name on file I don't know. But they won't fix it without a heap of identity documents that they want me to send over facebook messenger. Hell $#*!ing no, I'm not providing documents that someone can steal my identity with over facebook messenger to a total stranger.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use slingshot, they can't even get the basics right.
