I bought a TV and good Faith. Knowing that at the time, square trade was a good and fair company about fixing any issues that you may have with electronics TV's that sort of thing, but then when my TV had an issue with having lines and all of these different colors all over the place they informed in for me. Oh, well, we no longer cover that. But that's not a me problem I feel like this company just scams people out of money to buy their warranties and don't disclose every bit of the information of what is and is not covered. I highly suggest if you have a warranty with them, I suggest you call them and get your money back because it's ridiculous. You can cancel your warranty anytime you want with them and they will, give you your money back. I highly suggest you do that because they're complete idiots over there. Not a, one of them will do anything to help you.
Square trade only communicates via emails as they do not wish to speak with claimants. Then when you call they blow smoke up your $#*!,make excuses to get your call ended. You never speak to the same person twice when you call and that person can not give you an answer. I bought a 58" RCA TV & extended Square Trade extended warranty from Walmart(Only choice you have). TV totally quit working after 2 1/2 years. Still fighting after 5 days to get any responses as to my claim. No responses to e-mails. I don't understand how Allstate can partner with such a horrendous outfit. Basically they get your money and screw you when you file a claim. Square trade does not want to part with one cent of your warranty money. Biggest scam on the planet. Sad as this is the first extended warranty I ever purchased in my 72 years on this earth. All Square Trade will do is blow smoke up your $#*! when you need them. Disgusting.

I bought a TV from Walmart last month. It had issues within an hour of use, so I went ahead and returned it, which was a whole fiasco unto itself, but I now have this Squaretrade plan that I'm trying to cancel. On the Walmart website, it says:
If you have an issue with your protection plan you can cancel your plan before Sun Mar 31 for a refund.
It's currently Dec 07, so I'm well within the time period in which I can cancel my plan and get a refund. But when I call Allstate to cancel it, I'm greeted with "Sorry, I didn't get that" when I say "cancellation." It then says "For cancellation, press 4" so I press it. "Sorry, I didn't get that. For cancellation, press 4" (one more press) "Sorry, I still didn't get that. Please call again later."
It's been days now. Walmart says I need to cancel through Allstate, Allstate says I need to cancel through Walmart, it's just an absolute mess. I'm never buying a Squaretrade warranty again. If this is how they handle someone wanting to cancel their plan, I can't imagine they handle filing claims well at all.
They had gave me A Fake 2 Year Fitbit Protection Plan stated within the Email Message that this had came from All State Car Insurance! I was not redirected to the Fitbit Company for the Officially Labeled Fitbit Protection Plan and I would like my Refund of $60!

I purchased an office chair from Staples, and purchased the Square Trade 3 year warranty. After less than a year, the chair was leaning to one side and an arm was very loose. I filed a claim with Square Trade, but was told I had to wait one year. I filed a claim on line and never hear back from Square Trade.
Fast forward to over three years later, I found the old Staples receipt in an old box while cleaning up files. I contacted Square Trade for my warranty payment. They said there is no record of me filing a claim and since it's past three years from the date of purchase, there's nothing they can do.
Well, if you purchase a 3 year warranty, and file a claim in say 10 months, why would Square Trade not stand behind the warranty? The reason given to me today was, "Within one year the manufacturer will support the problem". Really? I don't know who made the chair. It was purchased at Staples.
A three year warranty is really a two year warranty. Bait and Switch. State Attorney General should investigate.
I bought a warranty and called for replacement 3 times they didn't respond through email and closed my case for not being responding! This is a waste of money!

Wanted me to find a place to take my portable dehumidifier to be fix then they would refund me the repair. After i told them is is no place that fixes them, they wanted me to ship it to honeywell for repair. Was only a $279 unit. Never again. They will make it so it isnt worth the effert. Attorney general should investigate.

Would give zero stars if I could. First off, my product started having issues within a month of purchasing from Home Depot. I called the manufacturer and they said it was a plumbing issue so they couldn't do anything but had to contact Home Depot protection plan with Allstate. Allstate stated could not cover because it was covered under warranty. Had to deal with half working dishwasher for a year and then called Allstate to file a claim. They scheduled someone to come look at it and they never showed up. They said I had to find my own person to come out and look at it. After calling a million places finally found someone to look at it and they did not fix it after $299 service fee I was having the same issue. Allstate requested I send in receipts for reimbursement so I did… haven't heard anything back so finally called them and now they are saying there is nothing they can do to reopen or file a new claim. I'm beyond pissed at the lack of continuity and waste of money in purchasing the plan.

If the manufacturer gives you pushback that they can’t fix something, push right back if you still have a valid claim to avoid dealing with this BS from Allstate.

About a week ago, I purchased several items on eBay. None of them were electronics--all were just vintage postcards I was buying as a gift. When I got my email confirmation, I was surprised to find a warranty from SquareTrade on a laptop--which I had definitely not viewed when I was shopping or placed in my shopping cart. I immediately put in a request to cancel the order, which seemed easy enough, given that the warranty was to be digitally delivered (not physically shipped) and I did it within minutes of completing the order. Three days later, the cancellation request was denied. I wrote them again, asking again to cancel the order--crickets. Ebay won't help because, shockingly, SquareTrade isn't covered by their money back guarantee. Now, a week later, I still haven't received the warranty, so I can't begin the return process or even leave feedback for them on eBay. Really, really sketchy. I realize $24.99 isn't going to break the bank, but the whole thing from start to finish, maybe most of all the fact that this thing just turned up in my eBay shopping cart without warning, has been extremely suspect. Anyway, beware of this company and don't forget to review your shopping cart on eBay before completing an order.
Getting nothing but the run around with this company SquareTrade. The part for the repair was approved for installation. No email with tracking and contact information. The part was even ordered and sent to the house…then nothing. Again, no email, no contact from the contractor to install. Called back to ST repeatedly over a three week period and got the same answer, "We need to research and have an email sent to you…" No phone numbers are provided for support. No one personally taking responsibility to ensure something gets done; just a bunch of call center folks doing the digital paper shuffling that must be the goal of Allstate's to just frustrate the customer into giving up.
There is a huge disconnect between the Costco Concierge service to SquareTrade to Allstate in general…and then, if you're lucky to get out of that quagmire, the request just sits until you call ST to prod things along — at a mind numbing pace.
Shame on you Costco for partnering with this trash, shame on Allstate and SquareTrade for some of the worst customer experiences that I've had the good sense to endure.

I wrote this review a while back and I am having another issue with my TV and in hopes of not having the same issue with Costco/Square Trade warranty. I was wrong, second time and they are just as bad, they just seem to put warranty issues on the back burner. Also, Square Trade is an Allstate company so I know I won't be buying any kind of insurance from them.
Don't buy extended warranty! We bought a TV and extended warranty and now need a repair and we have been sent parts to fix the TV but we can't get anyone to come out now to fix it. Costco keeps telling me how much they appreciate my business and then transfer me to Square Trade (warranty company) I started this process 2 weeks ago and just got off the phone with them again and i get the same bs that someone will call me in a couple of days. DO NOT BUY EXTENDED WARRANTY!

I bought a phone in March 2021 on Ebay. The phone has a 1 yr manufacturer guaranty and I paid for 1 yr insurance thru squaretrade. Everything fine til Dec 2021 when my screen went black. Trying to file a claim online was difficult because they could not find my policy. Finally got a hold of a rep only to directed to the manufacturer, Lg. Lg directed me back to Squaretrade who wanted to know the name of the rep from Lg. I forgot the reps name. The lady I was speaking with at Squaretrade insisted the insurance was void because I dropped the phone about a week after the screen went black. I explained the screen went black first and had nothing to do with me dropping it. She said the drop may have caused more damage. You would have to open the phone up to determine the problem. Nope. They wont even bother with it. Squaretrade is refusing to honor the insurance I paid for based on something there is no proof of. They are a total scam. Squaretrade rips people off. I will never buy Squaretrade again nor will I suggest anyone buy insurance from them. My entire experience has been such a nightmare I will never buy a phone thru Ebay again. Squaretrade is a scam.

Poor customer service, you can never talk to someone on their customer service line. Even when you send in devices, they often find an excuse not to accept the device. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TRADING IN DEVICES, BECAUSE CHANCES ARE, THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR DEVICE.

They will give you the absolute run around. I tried to file a claim on an item that I'd purchased from Wally World. It was a nightmare! I had been waiting for days to get an email to click on a link to create an account, I am still waiting on that confirmation email to come. I then had to speak to someone through online chat at least four different times. They make you explain things over and over again so that you will become frustrated. I told them about the product and that there was an electrical issue going on and that there may be some type of defection with the product cuz it had some kind of indent in it which I clearly explain to them I did not cause. They asked if I dropped it I told them no I did not. I'm not so much upset about the loss, it's a lesson learned. But the customer service at this company is not helpful they seem to do everything they can to discourage you from making a claim. The frustrating thing about it is they will act like they are so sorry about what you're going through yet nothing gets resolved.

I have had to call them multiple times to get this claim paid out. Every time I call in there is a new piece of documentation I have to provide to continue with the claim. Finally when I am assured that there will be no further documents needed I get an email stating that my claim has been closed. I call in and they say I will have to start again. DO NOT BUY THIS POLICY! IT IS A SCAM!
I purchased a couch from Wayfair and thought I was being smart to purchase the protection plan just because I knew it was a cheaper couch and wasn't sure how it was going to hold up. I purchased in July and by November the seams on the couch had separated and were ripped. First I went through back and forth with Wayfair and Allstate/Squaretrade both saying the other company was responsible for the item and it's repair. Finally, I get Squaretrade to file the claim and send in photos as requested. They then get back to me and tell me that the "resolution" is for them to send a technician out to "repair the item" when I could've told them that I could try to sew it and I know it wouldn't last and wouldn't look good. I just wanted a replacement of the cover for that one couch cushion. I would even pay for it at this point. They told me that according to the warranty details, they have someone come to repair it first and if that works then the warranty remains in place. If they can't repair the item THEN they will replace/refund but the warranty is then ended? Because I had to use the 5 year warranty it is now ended after only a few months? Absolutely ridiculous. I told the support agent I did not feel comfortable with a random technician coming to my house and would rather just get the replacement/refund at this point even if it ends my "warranty" (if you can call it that). They have to "send it to the team for review" before they can even approve that. What a useless "warranty". Extremely frustrated this was a complete waste.
After my horrific experience with DHGate and 4+ months of absolute disbelief that a company like that is allowed to stay in business, I remembered that I purchased an extended warranty on the product with squaretrade.com.
DHGATE: 25+ Chat sessions and 15 unreturned emails whilest their best and brightest...(about as bright as oil.) tried to figure out how to handle a cut and dry case, and SQUARETRADE handled it in two - and it would have been one, but I had to send over my receipt.
The end result, instant, fantastic customer service with only question, "When and where would you like your refund?" And yes, they processed it on Saturday morning! REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thank you SquareTrade! And to DHGate, "Sit and spin! I'm still going legal with you theives!"

I purchased a desk from Wayfair with a 3 year warranty from Square Trade from 2021 until December 2023.
Last August 2022 I filed a claim with Square trade for damage to the desk. I followed all of the procedures requested on the Square Trade website by uploading pictures of the damage and putting the information necessary for the item. I submitted the claim and no one ever got back to me. Weeks went by and eventually the claim was closed. I followed up with another claim months later in May 2023 by submitting my second claim and submitting more pictures of the item. Again, I received a message stating I would get notification in 3 business days. Three days came & went with no email or message on Square Trade. I contacted Square Trade about my dissatisfaction with the company and their lack of response to my claim. A representative called about my dissatisfaction with the company but not to discuss when someone would deal with the damage to my item. The representative requested that I respond to another representative's email sent after I called the company complaining. Those calls and emails were mid May 2023. It is no reason why I am still dealing with answering questions about damage to my property when I filed an initial claim on 5/16/2023. I answered all of the questions in my initial claim on the Square Trade website. This is a direct way to deter a person to stop dealing with a company and give up! This is the reason I am saying Do "NOT" waste your money on the warranty! This company puts you through entirely too much.

The manager Faraz was the ONLY thing positive in what I have experienced over the last week and a half as I tried desperately to get my claim handled. It was seriously the worst customer service experience of my life and I'm not just saying that. Review my account and the notes. Was sent a replacement phone that was not compatible with my cell phone provider even though they specifically had me pick a phone that was compatible. And then it took me OVER a week to remedy the situation. Nearly 2 weeks without a phone after purchasing a policy that guaranteed next-day replacement. Almost a comedy. Not a single person (dealt with 9 people total) kept their promise or followed through on what they told me would happen. Then each next person would tell me "well I don't know why they told you that - because that is not our process". Faraz finally took it upon himself to recognize the ridiculous nature of what I had been through to make it right. I would NEVER recommend this as an insurance option, and I'm in the process of looking for a new insurance option for my family's 4 cell phones. I'm available if you would like more details.
Bought a dud phone bought the protection plan tried to file a claim they made me go back to the store I bought it from, call manufacturer, then when there was nothing else for me to do but call squaretrade back they put a note on my account saying they already contacted me and had the problem fixed even though that was a COMPLETE LIE. They REFUSE to help me even though I paid for their services! If I could give negative stars I would! Horrible Horrible company that steals ppls money!
