We were promised 2-day free delivery of an item that was not in stock in store. Then got email confirmation of delivery in about 10 days and cancelled order. The order was cancelled, the item was never shipped to us, but Staples refuses to issue the refund until they move the product back to their warehouse- which has so far taken over 2 weeks. They are liars and also behaving dishonestly with our money.
I ordered a desk chair online from Staples.com on August 14; delivery to be August 17. As of today, August 23, no chair and no real reason as to why it's not delivered except "unable to complete before 5 pm", although Staples got my money on August 14! Every day, 1st Choice Courier/Executive posts that on the tracking site. No other reason supplied, and Staples.com cannot do anything but parrot what the tracking site says (like I can't read it myself). What a total disaster; I am so sorry I ordered online.
The cashier Kay at store #1051 helped return an opened box of printer cartridges. I had no receipt just the opened box. She was able to quickly process getting the product back into inventory and helped exchange it for the correct item. Very pleasant experience!
I loved them since I was in high school. I'm an absolute fan of stationery: pens, pencils, markers, folders, binders... I'm a bit of an organization freak, and I love having my projects organized. Staples has everything I need for any area of my life: personal, school, home, recipes, clothes storage, you name it. A great website: lots and lots of items plus good delivery options.
I ordered an office desk off their website 2 week ago. I expected it to be delivered in about 7-10 days at the latest. I just called customer service and that there were unexpected shipping delays and I would have to wait 2-3 more days. This is just a horrible experience and I wish I had ordered from another shop.
They must be average since they are soon to be the only one, true office supply store around where I live as a result of merger. This is not likely to be good for consumers as far as pricing on items not sold by places like Costco and Sam's Club or Clearance stores. Of the two I like the current Office Depot. The only competition to be left around here to take seriously may be WalMart with its limited selection and mail order companies like Amazon.com where Prime members get free shipping, not a trivial consideration when talking about mail order.
We recently bought an hp laptop from staples. It gradually got so it didn't work at all. Took it back. "Sorry, contact the manufacturer. We can't help you. " HP service is almost impossible to contact. We're still doing battle and stuck with a $600 laptop that is a lemon. Beware.
I own a small business where I have spent $55,425.75 with staples since August, 2020. As of February 16,2022, I still have major issues with their billing, lack of timely credits for billing errors, payments posted incorrectly, poor service from the accounting department.
The sales rep is fantastic and on top of things - but that is the ONLY good thing I can say about Staples.
I am seriously considering looking for another company that can correctly bill, credit and service the accounting process.
If you choose to have an account with Staples - be prepared to spend endless hours on the billing and verifying their lack of attention to little details like over-charging, 3 months to get a credit posted to an overcharged invoice and continued errors in billing!
Very disappointed with the ordering process. 1- Press here to shop. Ok. Shopped. Filled cart.
2- Didn't see other offers on page two. Ok.
3- Didn't read the fine print. Many exclusions.
4- Coupon didn't apply to my order.
5- Order cancelled by me.
After trying discount sites I've returned to Staples. I might not always get the best discount but I can rely on availability, fast free delivery, easy returns and quality. This is so important for small business. I don't have to waste precious time advocating for good products and services. Staples delivers time and time again. Love the online ordering.
Josh happened to be in the Palm Desert store where we need a paper jam fixed on our Staples bought printer. The PD guy said, no can do. Josh just took it apart and fixed it for us. La Quinta store is lucky to have him! And with a smile and good attitude.
I will NEVER order from Staples again! I bought a heavy desk chair and the last thing to be installed were the arm rests. The holes were so far from matching up that this was impossible. Reviews of this chair all say the same thing. So why are they still selling it. Then it gets delivered the very next day after I order it which is great but they have not picked it up in over week despite authorization for the return and my pleas to get it off my porch which has no overhang and I have to lug it in every time it rains and worry about it getting stolen, Customer service was horrible.
I am an office manager for a small business in Toronto, ON.
Staples has caused more headaches with their deliveries than I care to recall, however save yourself the headache and just avoid their online services all together. I ordered a case or paper among other item, on Monday and STILL have yet to receive the case of paper and have been given nearly every excuse for the business to be held accountable.
To add insult to injury, the third representative I spoke to advised me to go to my nearest store to physically go pick up a case of paper. Not only does that completely defeat the purpose of using the online services to begin with, I now have to take time from my day to leave the office and purchase paper.
I promise that our office will not be using Staples for online services ever again at any point. Such a disappointment.
I shopped at Staples in Hanover, PA on Eisenhower Drive. The representatives name was Devon. He was absolutely fantastic went above and beyond to assist me in purchasing the stuff that I needed. He actually went into the back to get the item that was not on shelf
Thank you for all your help and he did it with a smile
Really good customer service. My package was late and that blame belongs to ontrac delivery. What really impressed me was that upon contacting them, they offered to cancel the order. They could not have been kinder in their correspondence.
An awful experience to just place simple orders via 1800 number. Philippines call centre for Staples do not have the listening skills to properly take down the customer, address, phone, item and credit card info numbers. I have to repeatedly and slowly dictate the numbers so she could properly take it down. What is worst is that she would reason out why she made mistakes on taking down the numbers wrong. What a time wasted experience just to place 5 items order on the phone.
Ordered item, received confirmation email. 3 weeks and still no part, turns out they decided to cancel the order. I was not informed, and now it is very costly for me. The item was not very expensive, but the result is. Will never use staples again, please do not rely on them for anything critical.
I've never used staples.com before but they sent a bill to ups on my behalf with my address billing me $40. Apparently they send bills to random addresses hoping that they will pay it. When I called, the receptionist said that "it might just be a bug in out system" and she'll transfer me to billing. The billing department had no idea about the "bug" and I either had to pay the bill for them or work it out with UPS. I have never used staples.com and I definitely never will. If you're someone like me who they send a random bill to, you can get it deleted out of the system because UPS is aware of the scam.
Yesterday was a nightmare at Staples. I bought a protection plan for an Epson printer. The employee said "if there were any issues with the printer, just bring it back". Later that day I went back to ask for a replacement for the Canon I was having problems with. Store manager said that the employee who sold me the protection plan was wrong. OK, so who do I believe? I told him he was training his people wrong.
Cut to the chase- I spent 2 hours arguing/discussing issues with him over a lousy $300 printer. It's not the money, it's the fact that he did not acknowledge my issues and kept telling me I should have done this and that.
Don't buy a protection plan from Staples, as it's absolutely useless and will be a waste of time in the end. If it's a $2000 item, different story. $300 printer? Make me whole and happy by dealing with the customer in a way that he'll be glad to come back.
I will never buy another product from Staples again. Bad experience I don't want to repeat.
I needed print toner quickly and ordered from Staples based on their claim that I would get free overnight shipping if ordered within 9 hours. AFTER placing the order I got an email saying it would not be delivered for two business days. I called to cancel order, but they refused to cancel even though it had not shipped yet.
Answer: Good service at their brick and mortar store, now good service online
