Staples has a rating of 2.3 stars from 624 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Staples most frequently mention customer service, next day, and credit card problems. Staples ranks 136th among Office Supplies sites.
Although I shop at Staples for supplies, my last visit was solely to solve a problem that I was having with my Samsung tablet. This very knowledgeable associate spent about 15 minutes figuring out what was wrong and advising me what to do with it. He did not ask to be compensated for his time and he did not suggest any product to purchase. I have found Staples staff to be very willing to help and not impose anything on me, which is why I feel very comfortable going there with questions or to get supplies.
Went to Staples in Alpharetta, the?manager? Richard says I can not use my valid coupon. He said I use to many coupons? Rude about it, I am amazed how bad his attitude is, why issue coupons if customer are told they can not use them. I will go to Walmart.
Some years ago the local newspaper had an article comparing the cost of an average "back to school" package from 10 different suppliers. Staples came out being the most expensive.
For something that looks like and operates like a box store it is very expensive.
When you check out there are endless delays by the obligatory request for the Staples reward card, or people filling out a new one, or updating their information.
The Staples reward card in my 20 years experience is a scam to get peoples personal information for the sales and marketing people. Out of at least $20,000 spent I never received a dime from this alleged Rewards card, despite several managers calling some private home office number directly.
There is a huge turnover in employees. Customer service has not been improved by the employees having earphones and mikes like old time telephone operators. It looks strange and means they are talking more to each other than helping you.
There are reviews that state the Staples web site is the worst designed they have ever seen. You go to the web site pre-sold to purchase a given item and they distract you and delay you. Get a rewards card, join a business club, sign up for mailings, are you interested in this similar product?
If you want a particular item and they are out of stock they try to turn it into a special order and have you pay in advance. This is unique. About 5 times this has happened. No other place in the world has the nerve. The others start by apologizing for being out of stock.
Staples has never failed me -- they always come through with the goods. Even better they give DAILY reports -- if you ask for a special product that takes a little "hunting" as I did. Personally, I would give Staples five GOLD STARS -- HAPPY NEW YEAR!
They is a friendly return and no restocking charge and

I've used Staples' website to print items for my business - posters, flyers, etc. and I am very pleased with their service. The printing is always done on time and is easy to customize online.
Ordered a laptop from them and it never came they're blaming it on third parties saying they'll send a replacement which is a total inconvenience to me whether I refund or wait on replacement because my funds will be tied up for 3-5 business days I don't want your laptop or your business in what world do place an order and can never track the order I've been in the clouds on where my laptop is ever since I placed the order and still haven't received it yet give me back my money before I report you guys for fraud
I just placed an order with Staples online, haven't received everything yet, turns out someone used my card and either paid bills or transferred money, two large amounts and a small, even though my bank is going to refund me, this thief im sure that works at staples got away with my money and i gotta Wait until the 11th they tell me before I see my refund, the thief didn't have to wait but I do for my own money, What A World We Live In!

I have been stuck in my house for five days. As luck would have it, I VERY MUCH need a computer part that broke three days ago. Staples.com on their website said if I ordered, I could have NEXT DAY delivery. Of course like a fool, I chose pick up in store (it's a hike by foot, but doable) to save the shipping fee. What a crock of crap! They just sent an email that delivery was DELAYED (no reason why) and it will be ready for pick up TOMORROW (and that is not what those SOBS claim on their website ["order today; pickup the next day"])! That means I have been with a broken computer for FIVE DAYS! I chose this lying unreliable store because I can walk to it. I don't like waiting and I do NOT like BROKEN promises. NEVER EVER will I shop online with these lying sacks of crap and I just may be done with their brick and mortar stores too! STAY AWAY! THEY LIE!
I used staples print chat today. I was served by Rebbeca and was blown away. She answered fast, politly, really knows her stuff, and really there to help. I'll definetly use the systen again (especially if Rebbeca's helping me). Reccommend it to everyone
I purchased a Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse combo. 1 month later the keys were sticking so badly I could not use it. (used to ordering from NO HASSLE AMAZON) but thought I'd give Staples another chance --14 day return policy. Seriously? I have to deal with the Manufacturer. All I can say is HASSLE, HASSLE, HASSLE! How do they expect to compete with Amazon?
I use the staples site for business supplies, it's really easy. My only gripe is that sometimes it is hard to search for items. Like if Avery color coded labels in the letter a is what I'm lo
STAPLES may not always have the exact brand you were looking for, but if they have anything even close to it I highly recommend them just because they do business the old fashioned way --- I pay them, then send my stuff, SIMPLE, no BS, no hassle.
Easy parking at Sunrise Store. It has a large supply of all your "one stop" paper needs. I am a free lance writer and buy all my supplies at Staples. Clerks could be a little more ambitious.
Back to school soon, so i ordered few school goods.
They arrived fast, but poorly packaged. The pen box was destroyed.
I mean, i can't even tell if they just sent me a refunded or used products.
On December 29,2023, I placed my order on Staples.com. I was given a January 2,2024 delivery date. Then it was delayed until January 4,2024. On January 5,2024, I chatted with a rep online that the order was "missing". I received no notification from anyone that it went missing until I inquired about my order not received on January 4,2024. Then the rep re-ordered my order with a delivery date of January 8,2024, and that was delayed again for January 9,2024 due to a truck breakdown. I chatted with another rep online on January 9,2024 to confirm that my order would be received on that date, and I was informed there was no delivery details on my order and that it would be delivered on January 10,2024.
How many more delays and excuses should I accept before I actually receive my order? This is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! Is this business being run by amateurs and children?
This is completely unacceptable and inexcusable. It's sad that I have to constantly follow up and deal with this. There's just no good customer service anymore.

While I was in Staples at 1660 S University Drive in Fort Worth TX. Today, 2 items purchased rang up on the register at higher prices than were listed on the shelf. (SBG Solid Display Calculator and SBG Hard Floor Casters). The calculators were priced at $5.99 on the shelf and rang up as $6.99 and the castors were listed as $19.95 on the shelf and rang up as $22.99. I asked the cashier about the differences and I was told that the prices on the shelf just probably had not been updated. I asked to speak to the manager but he/she was nowhere to be found.
It is not a lot of money but the principle is WRONG.

Tip for consumers:
The price charged at the register is not necessarily the price advertised on the shelf.
You would think Staples being an office store would have a good online store, just the opposite it's brick and mortar stores are better. But getting competition from stores like Walmart.
They have a good selection of all kinds of products, but they're usually out of the good tablets that everyone wants. I got an iPad cheaper at another store than Staples.
We order new office supplies once a week from staples. Its so convenient to have them come and drop it off. Saves so much time on having to send someone to go pick it up
I am a frequent buyer since i have a huge office. Bought many times from Staples and they never let me down. That's why I'll always be a faithful customer.
Can find the same item cheaper somewhere else, but an absolutely excellent place to buy your canon inks and recycle them. Up to 5 per trasnaction & a great refund when you do.
Another antiquated business that needs you to create yet another marginal internet account instead of using top-level single sign on SSO providers e.g. Google, Facebook
I wish they would change delivery companies. Capstone Logistics sucks! Every order is a problem. I will no longer be using Staples because of this issue.
Placed my order on staples.com at 5:00pm last night. It is 2:00pm next day and it has already been delivered by UPS! Less than 24 hours! I am very happy.

Today I went to STORE #1967
Staples Connect Los Angeles, CA and it was a remarkable experience. I had not been there in many years because I remember the service being abominable and I had vowed to never go back. A colleague sent me there today because we needed various things printed, mounted and finished very quickly. I was nervous about going there and wasting a lot of time and not getting what I needed. Boy, have things changed! First off, the place was really beautiful and laid out well. Everything was very clear, easy to locate and visually attractive. But the best part was the customer service. My first contact was with a young woman, Denise, who went above and beyond to help me and make sure that I got exactly what I needed, as quickly as possible for a very reasonable price. She helped me with the printer and then went over all my options very patiently. When I went back to pick up my order, I needed additional items printed and I worked with a second young man who, again, went beyond the expected to make sure I was happy - he actually did everything I wanted on the spot so I was able to leave with everything I needed and didn't have to return in the morning. Honestly, I was shocked by how good an experience I had which is why I had to find a way to communicate that to management - which I assume is new. Thank you! Best,
Kamala Lopez
