The people didn't care my phone got stolen I got the phone on a deal that I prepaid for 3 months and they didn't give a s*** that I just got my phone stolen and you're not shutting it off so now it's criminal it's running around my phone and three months of service thank you straight talk for supporting my criminal experience to me
I have had straight talk for about 6-7 years, this past year has been a nightmare. Unable to get through to customer service, then being told what was happening wasn't happening, I work in tech support for a cell phone company so I knew what was going on. Got tired of that, so when it comes time to leave and go to Boost which the service is equally as good, but almost half the price, they won't port my number over. At this point, it isn't even worth it. I'll just change my number on every single document that I have filled out the past number of years instead of ever dealing with them again.
I won't even get into the nightmare of the BYOP plan and getting that one activated on a different device. Needless to say, I would rather that phone remain unactivated than ever give a dollar to this company again.
Have used StraighTalk for many years purchasing 1 year unlimited at a time. Never any issues... Until Verizon purchased them. Suddenly, phone will not work except for emergency calls. Phone is 5G compatible. Weeks of working with customer service, taking time off of work to visit representative at Walmart, purchasing new sim card... Not fixed problem. Was told that current month could not be refunded. Ended up switching carriers in order to have service. Now, StraighTalk refuses to refund my unused 6 monthes of service. If you have paid them, they will not refund anything even when they will not provide you with service. Their only fix suggestion if to buy new sim card and restart phone. They have ZERO other options. They have stolen $250+ from me, plus $ from hours missed from work. STAY AWAY!
We had straight talk for 8 years. Never a problem. We ALWAYS paid for the year upfront. We always brought our own phone, there was never an issue. We bought new phones in 2021 and bought the year 2021. No problem. 2022 comes, we buy the the whole year. No problem. Then come march our phones stop working. Straight talk says that the carrier in our plan AT&T is now not compatible with our phone. Strange since we've already had these phones for a 1yr & 3 months and there has been no compatibility issues. Straight talk says our only remedy is to buy one of their (AT&T compatible) phones. We don't want one of their phones. So now we changed to another carrier and straight talk will NOT refund the 9 months left in the contract.
2 phones at the cost of nine months of service down the drain. We certainly did not have that money to waste.
My data hasn't worked sense I renewed my service $45 and I have no data and it hasn't worked. The rep argued with my wife and said I used all three gb in less than a day. They're rediculous and don't listen. Nor do they apologize or fix their mess ups.
I called to get a sim unlock code and the man I talked to was nice and I could understand him, but all the codes he gave me didn't work. So I called back the next day and a lady answered with a thick accent and I couldn't understand her English so I told her I'm having trouble understanding her and asked if I can talk to someone that I can understand easier. She responds with "I am verbally qualified to help you" I said I can't understand you can you talk slower. She then sarcastically starts talking extremely slow. I then knew she was just being a jerk. I again asked to speak to her supervisor or someone I could understand easier she then attempts to put me on hold but then I hear her call me a stupid American. I said I am not a stupid American and just asked to speak with only her supervisor. She said that there are no supervisors and she's the only one that can help me. I hung up on her and want a full refund for all straight talk junk I ordered.
Don't do business with then. Can't get help when you need it. The help is out of country and don't understand what you are saying. Spend every month on the phone trying to get issues resolved but never happens. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Many other complaints… lost access to two of the three devices when Verizon took over; put my hotspot on auto refill when I did not request it; hung up on me when I was trying to get them to cancel auto refill; would not transfer me to a supervisor and lost service shortly after that!
They turn your service off at midnight EST even if you live in Hawaii 6hrs behind so it's just another way to short the customer. $#*!en ripoff company and when you call 611 to complain they either hang up on you or put you on hold and never come back or my all time favorite just keep repeating the same $#*! over and over till you hang up. I really don't think the guys name your talking to is mike, John or Steve
I was a straight talk customer for 15 years with out interruption. I had stopped using straight talk due to issues with my internet I recently decided to come back to straight talk. Big mistake now I remember why I stopped using them I filled my service with the $55. Plan on the 1st the 9th of the month I get a text message saying I'm almost out of data I haven't played games not really on my phone much so thanks for nothing straight talk after this month I'm done with this service this is ridiculous!
First day I bought it they couldn't connect me and up sold me on a new plan,
Then they couldn't connect me to my plan after I bought over $100 worth of product.
REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND.
Had to call later in the night, somehow got connected.
Wanted to use my hotspot (speeds slower than $#*!ing Christmas by the way) the hotspot was so slow I called customer support and the robot gave me attitude and $#*!ed up my data connection for an hour along with agents giving me attitude as well.
Now I'm being told my hotspot I NEVER GOT TO USE is somehow out? SPEED TESTED THE HOTSPOT AND ONLY GOT 0.11 to 2mbps max download speed on FULL BARS.
Do not buy from straight talk and do not buy from Verizon unless you are okay with being scammed YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
I had straight talk mobile for over 10 years the last 6 months they have really went downhill from dropped calls no service an couldn't receive picture msgs called them numerous times kept giving me the run around. I called them one last time today to try an get the issue fixed when I started talking to the person they hung up on me or call dropped well that done it for me I switched phone service. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone stay away...
Worst customer support call center ever. Cant speak english let alone help you with anything. Waisted 5 hours getting the run around becaise the mobile data add on wasnt going through and i needed data to do my job. Kept getting told i used all my data. How could i use 3 gb of data when i was on the phone with them the whole time and internet wasnt even working on my phone. These people over seas think its funny to screw us over because nothing happens to them if they treat you like crap and know they arent helping you and think its funny.
Worst company ever when it come to a problem. After 3 hours 3 phone calls 2 dropped calls when being transfered no one could fix the problem. Some how a zip code got changed on my acct. There for my phone number cant get transfered to new phone. Second problem is ordering phones on the straight talk web site and putting in your zip code to look for phone doesnt work seeing ive gotten 3 phones that dont work in our area. Now i recently moved and the 3rd phone i purchased with my new zip code still got sent a phone that dont work here. No compensation what so ever. 3 phones 3 returned shipping i have paid for ans now im out 22 days on my service. They dont care. Its their fault and all they say is sorry. Nothing to make it right. Good by straight talk. And ive had straight talk for over 6 years
I've used straight talk for about a decade and haven't had too many problems. However, sometimes things like iMessages will just stop working on the iPhone and I have no idea why. Then I have to call their customer service phone number, since they have no physical stores, and speak with people in the Philippines who barely can speak English. It'll take so long to solve a simple problem and you'll have to keep calling and calling because they'll forget or not know how to solve the simple problem because they cannot understand simple English. I may switch to the big carriers - Verizon and T-Mobile - because they have great customer service and you can go in one of their many stores if you have carrier and even phone problems. Straight talk is only a little bit cheaper but you pay the price of them outsourcing all of their customer service to the Phillipines because that's the cheapest customer service workers in the world.
Been using starught talk for awhile now. Thought I would get the 6 month plan for $255.
Got 2 days in to the plan and my phone tells me I'm almost out of data... wtf? I KJUDT bought this card! I call customer service and they say "the unlimited is ONLY for talk and text." I ask for a refund, and they say "thats impossible" asked for a manager, who said the same thing. So... im being charged $45 a month to talk and text (which is the $25 plan...) and I would feasibly have to pay for their EXPENSIVE data add ons... let's say, $10 worth a day (my phone is used for work) $70 a week extra data add on, times 4 weeks... thats $280 EXTRA dollars on top of the $55. So a whopping total of $325 a month.
F**K YOU straight talk.
You just lost a customer. And I hope my review helps people to NOT pick your company.
1. I purchased a straight talk wireless with 20 gigs for $75.00. (20 gigs per month and a minimum of 60 days)
2. I watched 5 hours of Netflix TV and not high quality
3. I ran out of data after 5 hours after 3 days into it
4. I called the Customer Service line at *******355 and everyone there is Phillipines only
5. I asked if they could send me the data on me using the 20 gigs.
6. They just keep transferring me to no end to other people in the Phillipines and every time the phone would "disconnect"
7. Essentially I received 5 hours and paid the following
a. Mobile hotspot box -$49.00
b. Online data plan 20 gigs $65.00 (min 2x months), so $130.00
c. Totaling $179.00 for 5x hours of Netflix for my guest house
I would not recommend this company and find one that is more fair and will provide proof of data when used.
All day, issues. Cannot send group text. Cannot send images! Every time I call customer support, the robot gives me attitude or hangs up, or someone else does. It is a form of torture when you call support! This morning, the robots hung up on me several damn times! I was just calling trying to renew service! This is MY LAST MONTH WITH STRAIGHT TALK! Just now, the robot on straight talk hung up on me because I asked to talk to a representative. A few minutes ago, I was on the line, I made it through to a representative but she hung up on me when I gave her my phone number. TECH ISSUES ALL DAY! I cannot send images or pics. I cannot send group texts.
Talk to customer service on three different occasions got hung up on both times. They did not fix the problem my internet now is not working and that wasn't an issue whenever I call them. My original problem was I wasn't able to receive or make phone calls and now I don't have any Internet after talking to these people because they did something to my phone and then after he couldn't fix it that's when he hung up on me.
I've been a straight talk customer for over a year now. They provide one hell of an unreliable service. Regret going through them in the first place. Let's compare a couple of their plans. For $45 you can have an unlimited data plan, but if you go with the $35 service plan, you will be limited to 10gb worth of high speed 5g data. After that, the speed will drop down to 2g. This is complete BS because if Straight Talk can offer an unlimited plan for $45, then they sure as hell can offer an unlimited plan for $35. Straight Talk screws over their customers plain and simple!
Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
