Plans are good, customer service is trash. The hoops you have to jump through in order to transfer a phone number is beyond me. You can't understand the people who answer nor do they help assist as I asked to confirm my phone number since there's a language barrier. She was uncooperative and said security reasons won't allow it. The fact that I couldn't pull the sms text because the old phone was broken, the other way was to provide phone numbers I text or call. Well I'm sorry but I don't memorize telephone numbers and with the old phone not turning on I can't locate those. There was no other way other than setting up a new phone number since I couldn't provide that information. Not like they can't look and just have me provide the credit card information that I pay monthly on. Definitely switching when this plan is up!
Phone service is good, customer service/support SUCKS. Been a customer seven+ years. Only needed to modify payment method on my wife phone. TWO hours on the phone, hung up on twice, very poor communication, understanding. A Lot of aggregation for a simple matter!
Called them numerous times! No data on phone…can't get pics or listen to voice mails or use internet. They always say they will work on it and call back, but they NEVER call back! Tired of paying so much for so little!
I would think it was an accident to be disconnected but it has happened 6 times. I want to change carriers and want my phone number released they say they are sending me a code but it never comes through. Terrible customer service!
Nearly 8 hours attempting to transfer a perfectly working Verizon phone to Straight Talk. At least 18 representatives who followed the same script without deviation resulting in failure to make the phone operable. The port to transfer the phone number was successful, however; the ability to make phone calls or send texts is not possible. Therefor; the phone number cannot be transferred back to Verizon or any carrier due to the inability to receive texts with the necessary transfer pin. Years of using the existing phone number for personal and business calls are now destroyed by Straight Talk. This can happen to you. It happened to me...Monumental damage caused by this companies incompetence and seriously flawed business model.
Wow, straight talk was a good reliable phone service for many years. I had very few issues. Verizon has taken over and destroyed my service within months. What are we doing Verizon, running customer away from straight talk to choose Verizon services. Displeased! I bought a sim card, placed it in the phone followed directions. No service. I called several times and spoke with the worse customer service. To no avail. They took so long to attempt porting my number it was already deactivated and I lost it Do yourself a favor, RUN!
Had a contract less than 8 months I had the phone screen went fuzzy stopped powering on, they want me to pay the phone off & pay for a replacement phone. They're a joke I went back and forth with straight talk and smart pay for a week never again.
Wife decided to do the auto pay, so she didnt have to run to get a new card each month. You know it would automatically deduct the funds... well 3 months in and every time she has to call to re ok it and now this time after doing exactly that for the third time now her phone has no service.not even to straight talk. Since we decided to go with straight talk a few years back service has gone to the trash can. I already changed a few months ago, today my wife is ready to as well. Good by straight talk with the sideways service.
Worst customer service ever. Complaint to FCC didn't even help. This is the cell phone service. Other parts seem ok even in customer service, but not mobile service! Their customer service agents are untrained and unsupervised.
Was a good customer until I decided to switch service providers I had auto refill and switched 3 days after they took my payment. I contacted straight talk for a refund on the 27 days that I would not be using their service and was told I could not get a refund because I had ported out my number. So this giant company decided they could just keep my money for services that I was not even using.
Straighttalk use to be a good service but now all they are about is money. I paid 50.45 for my month and all of a sudden they deactivated my account and refused to give me my number back. They made me pay an additional 35.00 for a new number which is bull$#*!. And cause of their stupid mistake I lost 50.45. You can't talk to an American anymore. I would not recommend these people to nobody. I'll be turning them into the better business bureau cause they are a joke.
Dealing with this company. Has been one continuous nightmare. The call center workers are clueless, they transfer you to "hangup department " and they have my ported number in limbo. They have lied to multiple times. I bought the Sim card kit in the advice of a friend. I wish I had never done that. Run as fast as you can from Straight Talk, I should have done my due diligence before switching. I now have no phone service, and have lost my number to oblivion.
I got a $700 unlocked phone and straight talk sim to go in it through Walmart and I spent 4 hours trying to get it activated without success spoke to multiple people who treated me like an idiot even tho I had done all the steps they were asking already. Then when calling back the following day after still not having service A MANAGER told me that I needed to provide call history for security when no calls were made! I'm getting a att sim to put in the phone this company is a joke and a waste of time if you want to spend days setting up your account go ahead but it's not worth the headache! I was told to fight with my bank to get my money back what a great manager! So helpful! SMH
Straight Talk no longer allows cell phone and home phone services to be managed from the same account. Thus my cell phone was kicked off my account. When customer service put it back on, my home phone was kicked off. When customer service tried to make 2 separate accounts, access was lost to both of them. Auto refill will no longer work and service ends tomorrow. It cannot be renewed manually either. Very difficult to understand customer service rep and they struggled understanding me.
While I have no evidence to back this up other than my own intuition, I believe a drunk college student could do a better job at managing the dev team this website than whoever is doing the job right now. Let's name some issues:
- On multiple pages errors are given out when doing something as simple as pressing a button.
- The reset password function sends the email on the app on my phone, but says it doesn't match when using it on web browser
- The reset password link itself doesn't work and throws me back to the main page
- Tons of debug/testing console logs present within every page
- App crashes consistently when run on my android tablet
It's a goddamn miracle the website works at all.
I wish there were negative stars. I promise you that you will need customer service from them, and it's the worst experience I've ever had with customer service. I'm writing the review as I sit here on hold and wait. I've been on hold for 2 hrs. And still no one. I promise you that if you go with this company you will kick your own $#*! for doing it. If you read this and continue to go with this company, you will think back on this review and wish you would have listened.
To be honest they are a scam. They have been charging my visa since Jan, Feb, March, April. I didn't notice it and till I was on my online banking just making sure all my other payments added up correctly. I notice a pending for 49.99 was pending and it was straight talk charging me. I then called customer service from straight talk and told them I had a pending from straight talk and said last time I payed was for December of 2020 I was on a month to month I would call and talk to the billing and give them the go head that was the only way i would pay for my daughters cell. No auto payment from my visa card I gave them no access or permission to make auto refill. They just did that on their own and now I'm disputing this with my bank cause straight talk wont reimburse my money back for 4 months. Be careful people make sure to check your online banking never again well i ever trust straight talk. Thieves and crooks is what they really are Devils.
Contact your Attorney General and file a complaint. I have done this and its the only way they will get investigated. Once they get enough complaints. Only way to get our money back. This is what the Attorney General in New York told me. They dont have enough filed complaints to investigate. So this is why we must file with your Attorney General. Pass the word on. Good luck

Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
