Took a long time to receive my ticket purchase confirmation email. Then received another email saying the booking was confirmed; it was only reserved at first.
Answered my questions on time and replied back the same day or the next day.
I love used SU for a few years now. While I believe things could be better (more promos for national flights) I believe they go a good job. I recommend at least trying the service if you have specific dates.
After hearing about this site, I was hesitant but I'm glad I use it because it's saved me so much money! I've only had one time I had trouble but customer service got it sorted right away with no trouble.
Our trip to Europe couldn't happen because of coronavirus... we didn't have insurance but when I called StudentUniverse to find out what can be done, they took care of everything right away. They were very nice and we got our money back in no time. We were going to fly with Lufthansa Airlines.

My overall experience with StudentUniverse was exceptional. From the moment I landed on their website, I was impressed by the user-friendly interface and the wide range of travel options tailored specifically for students. The booking process was seamless, and I appreciated the additional discounts and exclusive deals that were offered to students like me.
Student Universe did not advocate for me in terms of ticket refunds and despite the $75 travel insurance I bought on my ticket they were essentially useless. I do not recommend using this service and will use any other travel service in the future. The workers at the help desk are rude and disrespectful.

The travel insurance we sell is provided through a different company, so while you are welcome to process an insurance claim with them, we personally can't provide any insurance benefits. We are happy to provide any credits or refunds the airline is offering, but many airlines are offering credits or vouchers only right now. I had a poor experience with student universe, customer service in particular. Jim Field was the travel agent I was dealing with. He replied quickly to my concerns, which I appreciated, but he also lied to me about a flight and knew it. I then expressed my disappointment and he then did nothing to fix it. Will not be booking with them again.
The "flexible" table was a great way to see which arrival/departure combinations gave the best deal. I appreciated the quick booking process and quick confirmation. Flight confirmation takes a few minutes to come through, but all pertinent info is clear and readily available.
This company will not work with you. They will take your money. I purchased insurance through them and they did not refund me despite the policy. They also went against united states aviation laws and changed my flight without me knowing. I got confirmation from the airline as well as insurance for a full refund and they still refused. I will never use them again.

However, if the insurance company offered you a full refund due to the insurance policies, then they should be able to refund you directly. This company might call themselves StudentUniverse, but the truth is that their tickets are not cheaper than on any other site. In 2019 I flew 70 times and frequently compared the prices to StudentUniverse - and not ONE single time did they have a better offer. This is a normal travel agency masqueraded as helping out students. If they find you a deal, go directly to that airline and it will be cheaper. Interestingly enough, they were often MORE expensive than a standard ticket I found on other websites. There is no reason to book here.

Actually though, many of our tickets are discounted up to 30% off—perhaps the routes you were searching we didn't have discounts for, or perhaps you weren't seeing our cheapest prices which are reserved for those logged in with verified student accounts. Regardless, we do have cheaper tickets on many routes, and you can also use our promo codes or shop during sales for further savings. Don't pay the extra for your dietary requirement, not only because you can do this for free usually yourself but because even if you do student universe won't bother to add it for you and you'll go hungry on your long distance flight.

Another company trying to steal your money instead of helping. I called to change my flight because I have an exam and they charge $50 for that. I had to look for a cheap flight because she chose the most expensive flight on that day. I found a flight cheaper than my original flight, she didn't bother to give me back the extra $68. She counted it as the same price. They deserve 0 star. I would never use that website!
Hi John, we follow airlines' guidance regarding flight change and cancellation. As in the terms, change fee may apply; when you request a flight change, you may be required to pay the fare difference if there's any. However, as we wish our customers could receive price match when there are cheaper flights available, the airlines do not have such an option yet. If you happen to know any airlines that would refund the fare differences after the free change/cancellation period, feel free to let us know and we would be more than willing to partner with them and get more benefits for our customers. The airline they booked my flight through cancelled the ENTIRE flight. Studentuniverse was "unable" to find any other flights that matched my itinerary, even though I had provided several options, and refused to refund me my money. Currently cant pay next months rent in order to fund another flight to my program.

I had to change my flight time and they actually found me a cheaper flight in the process.
I had to cancel my flight due to a personal family emergency as my grandmother had a stroke. I waited for five hours for them to tell me nothing could be done. The woman I talked to was nice. However, I first wanted to change my destination- that was not possible. Then, I wanted to get some kind of refund- again, not possible because it didn't happen to an immediate family member according to the airline. I will never fly through student universe again and will make sure all of my friends and family do not, either. Again, the woman I was finally able to talk to after waiting for five hours was nice (and the reason I will give a star) but everything else about this company is absolutely awful. Never again will they get money from me.

My account was charged twice for the 'Travel Insurance' so he spoke with the accounting department to have one of the charges reimbursed. I'm currently waiting for the reimbursement to reflect on my account.
