Don't do it! I did and it took 2 days to get it all straightened out. They are very convincing and courteous, SAID they were tech support for microsoft. They use scare tactics like, you must act now, every minute, means more of your data is at risk.
The technicians of SupportBuddy are master in taking user experience to the next level when it comes to obtaining tech services for operating systems, computers, productivity suites, utilities, browsers, etc.
I first connected with SupportBuddy in a panic that my new laptop had stopped working properly. The techs were helpful, knowledgeable and fixed it on the first call. Very relieved to have found SupportBuddy and their customer services is always excellent.
This company knows how to support their customers. Frankly speaking, the first impression was not good, but once I got to the tech support it was really a big relief. The techies were very professional and resolved my printer issue easily in just 15 minutes.
I got the same pop up window/locked computer issue others have had along with a loud beeping sound. I called the number, they "fixed it" after two tries and many, many hours. I paid them a service fee of $180 but then they tried to sell me all kinds of service plans and additional software packages and just won't go away and leave me alone. I'm going to take my laptop to a local computer repair shop and make sure they haven't left anything behind that gives them the ability to re-infect me. I truly think they infected my computer on purpose.

Support Buddy called today and asked my wife to open the computer for them. Then they pretended to be a potential customer for our business. Ostensibly, to hold her on the line for an extended period of time. They are calling about one time per week to give us an update, refund, or PC cleaning. I believe that if you do business with Support Buddy, you will have to pay a ransom just to keep your computer in its present condition.
UPDATE:
5/22/17
Support Buddy continues to call. They state that they want me to open my computer so they can do an upgrade and they will refund my money. I have told them repeatedly that I will not open my computer for them again. Just this past week they called and stated that it was time for my annual update. A much younger female asked," Don't you want us to refund your money? I told them again that I had no desire to talk to them about anything and would not open my computer.
Tip for consumers:
Close your computer and take it to an IT. They are NOT affiliated with Microsoft!!

Stay away from SupportBuddy - this service is a scam. They pray on those who have no clue about PCs and deceive them with claims such as "your PC is full of viruses and your Microsoft warranty is expired". I had to deal with removing such crap from the PCs of family members. It also having them cancel all their credit cards and changing all passwords to avoid identify theft. This company, who goes by the name "SupportBuddy.net" or "Support Buddy" should be shut down. If you see anything from them on your PC, shut down your browser and restart your computer. Do NOT contact them.
Breaks into your Internet pretending to be a technician from your Internet Provider. After leaving all kinds of stuff in your computer, wants 300 or 500 bucks immediately to fix it.
Absolute immoral, unethical, illegal scam. Beware!
Take your troubles to someone you know not a stranger, especially off the internet. This company's personal will lie to you, adjust your system to where you have to keep coming back to them so that they can squeeze more money out of you, just like some auto mechanics, and they will get their staff to write great reviews.
I got caught up at first but quickly realized it was a scam. I played around with the Filipino for awhile and then finally told him exactly what he was. The fool called me back with a number from Boca Raton Fl and threatened to kill me if I ever called them again! So of course I tried to call back and got a dial tone followed by a busy signal.
I, as many others was hit by these people. I have Kaspersky installed, which I thought would stop crap like this! The "support" tech is in India, with warehouse call center background noise so loud that it is hard to comprehend what he is saying. The part was clear, that you could go to Microsoft store and pay $500 to get it fixed or pay them $179 to fix it online. Once they take over your PC, they would have all the information they need to process FB, mail, and credit card charges to our account.
STAY AWAY from these bastards!
They took $299 to fix a problem that I never had on my computer. If you are not paying attention - they represent themselves as microsoft experts and told me things about my computer they didn't have access to.
With no effective result coming out, I voiced out my concern of my Trend Micro antivirus tool to one of my colleagues. He suggested seeking the help of the SupportBuddy technical Services professionals. They walked me through the process in a step by step manner. Oh, how amazing the executives are.
My computer locked up after I opened an email that I thought was safe.
Surprise, surprise... it was corrupt!
And guess what popped up!? The phone number for support buddy!
Like a fool I called them and by then end I was paying $430!
Luckily I caught on after their numerous phone calls and told them I want my money back.
They caused my computer to lock up so I had no choice but to use their service.
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!
$179.99 Cancelled the next day within 24 hours. Email from customer supported dated the next day. 22 days later the credit has not been shown. Now they want a copy of my bank statement for that period. REALLY! They just keep ripping the public who is not aware of these type transactions.
Spoke with customer service. After I confirmed the transaction ID for the refund they instruct me to call back on Monday to get an update. I ask for a supervisor. He was in a meeting and not available.
Beware. Close any and all account number that have been scammed by SupportBuddy.
Beware. Microsoft will never lock out your PC and tell you to call a number. They do not make outbound calls for this type event.
After a few years of mediocre service, they are no longer available at their previous phone numbers. They are probably not responsible for the numerous scams generated in their name, but it's best to take your computer to a trusted local source. I have a paid-for account which has apparently gone up in smoke! As a general rule-of-thumb, NEVER respond to a phone call from ANY proported computer maintenance company! Call them, not the converse.
Don't call them. It is absolutely scam. First they try to scare you that the virus could damage your others devices as well. Then they sell you their service. Total scam... Please call your PC guy or Microsoft or Apple tech support first.
I worked with this company. Let me tell you one thing that this is a scam. They are located in india and their company name is support mart technical services. They are doing this since long time. I think US government should take necessary action against them. They were doing scam that is why i left the job.
My computer was locked with a screen telling me to call this number for assistance I foolishly did so. The real fraud in this is they represented themselves as MicroSoft tech's I am ashamed to say I fell for it. They remote accessed my computer then proceeded to have full run of it. When I questioned this procedure they told me Microsoft allowed them to do this for $180.00 or I could take it to Microsoft store for $500 dollars Microsoft store? Luckily for me my friends almost immediately told me of this scam and I was able to block credit card payment and report them to Microsoft which of course told me they would never lock my computer and then tell me to call them. I was told they plant the virus then scam you into removing it. I think these people are scum
The tec's my be good but its a ripe off. After sitting their for and hour with his bull he finial gave me a price of $500 dollars say to fix computer. Refused to give him my addrees an told him to get off my computer. I found he had put a bug on to see what I was doing
My experience was HORRIBLE. Two days after paying $219.99, my computer locked up again. After another 4 hours was wasted for a second time, it locked up the next week. Each time there were foreign countries breaking in to my computer. Then the 4th time I contacted them, it cost me another $130.00 on Sept. 25th, 2015. And guess what? It still was not fixed. More foreign and domestic hackers had gotten in to my computer. I will never refer to them again.
Accidentally tried to log onto website speedtest. C## instead of speedtest.org and got an instant virus (I pay for virus protection.) Blue screen of death instantly appeared saying I had a virus-THEN a white page appeared telling me to immediately call Microsoft becauce I had a virus. Next thing I know I am on the phone for an hour with Support Buddy. $169.00 and 3 hrs later my computer is fixed. I absolutely believe this company gave me the virus, then posted a fake Microsoft page with a phone number to call to have my virus removed. The whole time I was on the phone with them seemed suspect-but what can you do when you are not a computer geek and don't know what else to do? Stay clear of these people. If you do get a virus immediately shut down your computer and call a reputable company.
Need 24/7 technical assistance, download Buddy App of SupportBuddy as I did. It was mid-night when my browser failed to load the pages. I checked internet connection and everything but was unable to fix the problem. Thank God I had Buddy App installed in my PC. It instantly connected me to SupportBuddy techies. By taking the remote control of my PC they fixed the issue for me and I was able to browse again with much better speed.
